R.Stopped here for a break on a long journey. Best pizza I have ever eaten. Very friendly and efficient staff. If you like pizza and your en route between Hawke's Bay and Wellington give this place a try you won't be disappointed.
S.I was really impressed at the food at Il Capo. Both the pizza and the pasta that we ate were remarkably good. Definitely this cafe has the best Italian food in Palmerston North. Staff were friendly and fun (balancing about 50 empty pizza boxes was amazing 🤩). My only criticism was the cafe was a bit cold, but realise that most people get takeaways. Also remember to take your wine or beer as that is the licence the cafe has.

M.I left a bad review on Il Capo over 5 years ago after eating there twice and being sorely disappointed twice.
However!
Last night I went back for the first time since, I wasn't disappointed, in fact was impressed, the pizza I ordered had generous toppings a great amount of spice and flavour and well seasoned.
The only fault I could find was minor it was a bit pricey for what it was.
So thank you Il Capo for a great pizza and I'm glad I came back in. 👍
E.Superb pizza, just went for the most popular one Il Capo. Very nice size is decent. They have the size of the plate on the wall so it's easy to decide.
Spaghetti is average, enjoyable.
Not sure about the Lasagna, definitely wasn't a kiwi-style one. Didn't work for me personally.
W.Love the deep-dish pizzas at Il Capo. Full of toppings, thick mozzarella, great dough and fantastic homemade sauce. All of the options are authentic Italian combinations. My go-to pizza place in Palmy.

I did enjoy the generous pasta dish devouring it all in one sitting in the comfort of my own home followed by a decadent slice of white chocolate cheesecake which was delicious. We would cheerfully drive across town to order take out again from il capo pizza and pasta restaurant.
T.The lasagne was the best I have ever tasted. With 20 years experience as a chef I have eaten and cooked untold different lasagnas, but I can say this was easily the best ever. I'll be back after lockdown for another.
