Had the scotch fillet w red wine sauce and beef & prawn salad and everything was great. The steak we had was med rare and was very tender, just perfect. Reasonable price and awesome friendly service.

Went for a pre booked birthday celebration and totally enjoyed the evening. The decor is pretty cool and felt very welcoming. Meals were very good and were generous portions. Although we did wait quite a while for the meals (30/12 so understandable), it was worth it. Great staff and would definitely recommend.

We were greeted as we walked in. All staff were wearing masks. Only one COVID tracer QR Code poster on the wall inside the restaurant so our party queued for that. Tables were socially distanced with chairs removed and we were directed to a table well away from other diners. Our waitress explained the specials though they all sounded fishy and I don't eat fish. The garlic bread starter was tasty. The steak main came on an enormous round flat plate and tasted as good as it looked. Drinks were offered regularly and politely. Interesting themed American indian decor - pictures, artifacts, dolls, and some classic novels. A large wall screen and another set into the floor at the entrance cycle through themed images too. An enjoyable night out.

My partner and I absolutely love going here. Favourite place I'm Palmy. Best steak we have had and we have eaten alot of steak! Cocktails are amazing too! Best stocky date pudding if you have room after your huge meal. The staff are just the best, warm and welcoming.

We traveled down from Auckland for the weekend. One of the only restaurants open on good Friday! We stumbled upon Navajo, my partner and two young children. Very old-school Indiana type vibe. Pretty quiet, which we didn't really like (maybe we're used to having a bit of noise in Auckland). The service was good and relatively quick. We had the rump steak, lamb shoulder, kids pizza and fish bite meals. Tiramasu, kids sundaes and sticky date puddings. Everything was amazing especially the desserts. $170 later but we're quite happy with the food. I also LOVE a good raspberry fizzy which was fulfilled here too. Highly recommend💛

Good food bargain lunch $25 steak, think steak was deep fried, asked for med rear, got med well done. Fillet wrapped in bacon, was clearly not wrapped in bacon and was very well done. Very good portions, normal nice pub mushroom sauce, tasty salad.

Meals are fantastic value for money, extensive kids menu which includes a drink and sundae. Burgers are massive and delicious. Very highly recommended we’ll be back!!

Spectacular feast. Great service from our waiter for a group of 11 people. The food was prepared within a good amount of time, cooked really well. I just had one issue; the fries they provided were a bit too salty for my taste! They have large servings, perfect for anyone ravenous for a wonderful meal. Highly recommend restaurant, worth the extra little splurge for a great experience and feed!

When this place first opened it was WOW . Since then it has slowly gone down - tried to give them the chance of maybe having couple of off nights - Mushroom sauce, with 2 piddly pieces of mushrooms, Well done steak - blood red, , very dry chicken breast - Deep friend camembert could get 1 piece elsewhere for what they make 6 out of. Talked to waiter who went back to chef and response was a shrug and that's what they serve and that to be told that chicken breast is always dry, Sorry guys you have slipped badly. Wont be back. I recall (way back in the day) that this place used to be a nightclub / bar. Its come a long way since 2015 with two major shifts in occupancy. Initially i'd heard (and read) mixed reviews about this place so as a first time dining experience i kept an open mind but my expectations low. The restaurant is fairly spacious with generous seating on a tiered floor setup. My group and I were seated near the street looking out a very large set of window / doors. Directly above our area was an old coil heater providing more than enough warmth in that area (we eventually had to ask for it too be turned off with no issues) Our reservation was set for 6 pm for our group of five. Menu options were plentiful with meat choices taking precedence (of course). Our party ordered drinks / entree's which were served in quick order as were our mains dishes. Our waiter was very punctual and accommodating as he explained the house specials I had the Navajo Burger and wasn't disappointed with either the size nor taste. In a similar vein my wife ordered a variation of fish n chips. We followed this all up with dessert and our total cost for dining ended up approx $135.00 (2 x entrees, 4 x beers, 2 x mains, 2 x desserts) All in all it was certainly a welcoming, warm and friendly environment, that did get busier from 7.30pm onwards. Staff were professional, well presented and productive in their day to day tasks I'd certainly would enjoy coming back again and moreso in a group setting

Overall a great experience. Meals were fantastic and the Navajo theme and slideshow was very interesting. Pricing was great, beers were cold and tasty. And during covid level 2 they were doing very well at all the protocols. A little pushy at getting our order to get us in and out but we are dessert dodgers from way back so we would never go over our 1hr 3/4 limit.

Great steak restaurant! Food was super tasty. Although a little expensive, the food was absolutely worth it. Serves medium rare exactly as I wanted. Very few restaurants know the difference in how well done the meat is these days. Highly recommended!

Huge portions. We had the Meat platter ..delish! Kids mini pizzas were very tasty and large portion. If we knew the meat platter was going to be that huge and so filling I would've ordered a smaller main. However my Rib eye main was superb. Cooked to perfection and side fries and salad very yummy! We had a wonderful meal at Navajo. It was our first time here. We booked at short notice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good sized plates of attractive, tasty food. Not sure if any actual Native American meals are on the menu, however the decor is richly themed. They even have large format books strategically placed around the restaurant if you want to drink deeply of N.A. history in between beers, of which there are a good selection. Attentive yet discrete waiter really looked after us. We'll be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening out at Navajo, and it was the staff that made the experience. Patient and prompt. Awesome service. Fast service. Had starter and dinner within 30mins. Had the steak and it was perfectly cooked. Place was fully booked is well. Only thing that didn't give it a five was the eggs were still alittle bit under cooked (whites) and would be nice to have some red onion in the salad 😋 other then that everything was perfect. 👌Mushroom sauce was devine!!

We went in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and the food was excellent. There was 7 of us so I got to try a few different meals and the steaks here are really good - soft and juicy with no fat. I had the five spice chicken which was also excellent. The service was good, the prices were reasonable and the decor looked great. The portions are also a good size. I'll definitely be back when we go to Palmy again.

This has definitely got to be the Restaurant to go to in Palmerston North. I was here for dinner 22 July at 8:15pm. No booking but was accommodated anyway. The male waiter was welcoming, engaging and nothing was a problem. Was brilliant being treated like so after a whole day of driving and still more to go. The food was absolutely brilliant and yay!!! a restaurant that knows what steak knives are!! Brilliant and tasty food, and brilliant and engaging staff. You all deserve a raise!!! Thank you for making my dinner experience beyond words and totally worth while. Will definitely be back! Thank you again guys.

Holy bejaysus this place is grouse! Went on a Thursday night, the place was heaving but the food came out quickly and was amazingly tasty! The staff were on fire, we were served by a bright wee thing called Shayla who was an absolute delight. I can't rave about this place enough GO THERE!.

I ordered the sirloin. Serving size was quite large and the quality of food was reasonable but I don't think it was quite good enough for the price. Scallops entree was bad, cooked from frozen. Next table over got ribs and they looked really good. Vibe was relaxed. If you want a large meal then this is a good place to go.

First for a long time I had a steak that was presented as I had asked, no over done, not under done, just right. A very good selection of food, very attentive but not over-bearing staff. My first visit here and delightfully surprised and will return. Only one other point, there seems insufficient heating as it was quite cold and the women were having to put jackets on. Best 600 gram Rib Eye steak ive had in a long time. The meal was enormous. Great sauces and accompaniments. The staff who served us were a highlight. Attentive without being intrusive. Fantastic environment. Staff were brilliant and very helpful. Meals were delicious and HUGE! Definitely value for money when the meals came out. A good array of dishes, various steak meals, fish, chicken, pork and a salad. Husbands steak was cooked perfectly (rare). He chose the mushroom sauce and said it was a lovely flavor. I had the cola ribs and and a wonderful chili warmth to them. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu. They had highchairs available for children as well. Restaurant is very clean and tidy and well laid out.

I visited Navajo for a work dinner as part of a group of 20. This was my first visit and I was very impressed with many aspects of the night. We were greeted on arrival and offered pre dinner drinks at the bar before we were seated - the barman was friendly, knowledgeable and delivered all our drinks super quickly. They had a private dining room reserved for us and it was ready for us immediately and gave us the option to enjoy our drinks at the bar or move in as we pleased - it was refreshing not to feel rushed. Great service from the waitstaff who took our meal orders, he had extensive knowledge of the daily specials and the rest of the menu and was able to provide good recommendations. Our meals were delivered quicker than expected, most of us ordered steak and I was blown away that the kitchen could deliver 10+ steaks cooked to order at the same time without any errors in how they were preferably cooked. The meals were delivious but the overall consensus at the table was that they were oversized, we were concerned about waste but the waitstaff offered takeout containers for our leftovers. Would definite dine there again.

The food here is really great! Portion wise, you're definitely getting your money's worth. If you're a steak lover this place is worth a try. The cuts are cooked perfectly (depending on your choice of how it's cooked) and are served juicy and tender. Of course, they do serve other meals besides steak dishes :). The dessert dishes are quite tasty and reasonably priced. Giving a four star rating only because of the service received from two of the staff members, who seemed to be really young. This was my third visit to the restaurant and this was my third time I had to deal with the same staff that either seemed un-interested in their job or were annoyed that they had to come in on their day off to cover for someone else (just speculation). Patrons don't expect a red carpet experience with doves and flowers, but service with a smile, friendliness and able to speak clearly goes a very long way.

I had the beef and prawn salad which was amazing! An absolutely beautiful meal. Or was tasty and a big serving so definitely value for money. For dessert I ordered the tiramisu. Sadly this was not so nice. There was no coffee flavour what so ever in the Tiramisu. It just tasted overly sweet. The service was pleasant and the staff were friendly. The place was clean and tidy and always has a nice atmosphere.

Had pork belly. Was beautiful. Originally looking at the menu and prices I though were OK but maybe on the high side although once the food came out the quality and quality was worth every penny. We had a date night and decided to try Navajo and use the gift voucher we recieved for Christmas - let me just say that it was an absolute amazing gift! Good pricing, generous serves and great staff. I am EXTREMELY picky over how my steak is done as I always eat blue steak, and my porterhouse steak was done to perfection!! Those who love blue steak will understand how hard it is to get a decent blue steak as they are often overcooked or cold in the middle, but Navajo nailed it! Our waitstaff were very knowledgeable on the menu and wines, the place was clean and with good atmosphere, the food was fresh and without fault - basically it was a positive experience from the moment we entered. Thankyou Navajo Steakhouse staff - we will definitely be back!

Staff were excellent and food was fantastic along with a relaxing atomsphere. I had lamb which was cooked perfectly, another member of the group had steak that they said was one of the best cooked steaks they had ever had. If in Palmy you really need to try this place.

My first visit to the Navajo Steakhouse was a delight. The surroundings are pleasant, the seating comfortable and the service was great and as diners, we were not rushed. Our meals arrived and my response was 'Wow', the lamb shank was perfectly cooked and presented, the salad, crisp and balanced every meal at our table looked inviting. I will definitely return and will also recommend as a restaurant to visit.

I would like to share the story behind my 5 * stars rating. My husband and I stumbled upon Navajo’s on our pit stop at Palmerston North. We dined this evening and were blown away!! 1. The ambience is quite nice specially the open air area (that’s where we sat) 2. The staff - exemplary! Firstly the lady staff who was with our table not only had a friendly smile but also suggested well of the menu. We had an interesting incident as well... when we left after paying we realised that they didn’t charge us for a drink. We went back and spoke to the same lady and she mentioned that when we had ordered the drinks over at the bar they didn’t keep a tab hence they didn’t include it in the bill. Now I know you might say that it’s nothing extraordinary but to me it is - because they chose to do this for us and didnt even mention a word until we asked for clarification - you see - no fake claim to fame attitude ... real classy and polite and honest. It’s a shame that we forgot to ask for her name (the lady)... 3. Coming to the food - real decent steak - we had ordered the Rib eye combo - great portion - we divided between us; Chicken wings were also delicious except for the portion- i felt that could have been better ($15 for 6 pieces felt a tad over priced) - the blue cheese dip with the wings was yum. Plus I must mention that the lady who was with our table was real sweet and she bought extra garlic butter for the steak as requested... 4. I wanted a cocktail but nothing on the menu impressed me (just a mood thing - was too tired).. so the lady (who was with our table) asked me what kind of drink I like and I mentioned my favourite. She and her bar staff made the drink for me (outside the menu) and as you can guess by now - that’s such a brownie point!!! I must say that Navajo’s staff knows how to maintain top notch “hospitality “ in their restaurant... I am definitely gonna be back and will speak of it to all my network and friends visiting this lovely town. Thank you Team Navajo.. :)
