This has always been my favorite takeaway bar. I revisited to see if their smorgasbord menu was on. Unfortunately it was on hold till further notice. So I ordered a steak chow mein, a combination meats fried rice and honeyed chicken. Absolutely beautiful..its like we never left. Thank you Shang Lee

Our favorites are nasi goreng, fried rice and chow mein. Their meat & veg ratios are higher than carbs, so definitely they have good options for someone who loves lowcarb meals

Never ever had a bad experience here....except the time I took my young daughter to the smorgasbord, all she loaded up on was fried noodles, the owner offered to refund but I declined...good swap I thought for cramming mine into the bag for the last 20years...

Grew up in papakura and still eat from shang lee but it did lose a bit of that flaaav if you know what i mean cos something happend to the old chef... Its getting there tho its still good to eat

Great food excellent service clean surroundings and friendly helpful staff. Smorgasbord service we took our time choosing our dishes. A wide variety and choice and the black bean sauce dishes are a favourite. Vegetables were fresh, meat tender dishes. Would frequent again for the great food and staff service.

Been going there since I was kid. Been to a lot of different Chinese takeaways but this is by far the best :) little pricey but worth it

I usually go between 7-8pm to grab a plate of their smorgasbord. There are always lots of customers coming in and out, some grabbing fish and chips and others stacking up their containers with food at the smorgasbord. Really nice food and a great selection, they usually have 10-12 options. Carbs: fried noodles and fried rice Meat: Sweet&sour pork, honey chicken, lemon chicken, beef brisket, honey soy chicken Stir fry: Beef with brocolli, carrot, onion, celery etc. Chicken with same veges Deep fried stuff: Won tons, spring rolls, deep fried pear. im probably missing some stuff, going off memory here. They dont put a lid on your container, they just wraping it in a takeaway bag real tight, so feel free to load it up haha, but dont be an egg about it. oh yea, egg! they also have egg fu yong.

Be here by 4.20 pm, that's when the smorgasbord is just freshly served up, tasty selection so fill up as much as possible especially those yummy won tons $16 for large - $ 13 for sml they don't seem to mind if you over fill your takeaway tray, there menu from the wall has a good range of choices $$$$ still worth it though one big tray will feed 2 adults easy so yeah that's pretty much it yummy tastying I'm sure you'll be back after the first time
