H. T.Nice place, clean, and spacious. Food was pretty good, but not amazing. Chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy. They have surcharge for holiday and also credit surcharge.

For the whole table everything was there but something missing or something under par, poached eggs should have runny yolk (not hard), chicken and waffles over cooked, Wagyu Burger should be juicy, do I cross the highway to many other cafes or do I come back and try again…..
M.We were absolutely delighted with this cafe. The customer service, the staff, the beautiful aesthetic and the food was absolutely perfect. The chicken and rostis were perfectly crispy and moist at the same time. The combination of flavours was magic. Highly recommend AA++
W. L.Very popular spot in the weekends. We came with a group of 15 on a Sunday morning and you definitely need to book ahead. Our orders were taken promptly and food didn't take too long to come out. Good size portions, value for money and excellent coffee as well. I would recommend it if you are out this way
B. H.Lovely food, all meals ordered were a hit! Service was good, however we were never checked on after mains were given & had to go up to ask to have our table cleared. Wasn’t busy so found this to be somewhat unacceptable however the staff who came to clear were friendly. Overall a good experience, 5 stars if the good service had followed through
N. V.Very busy lunchtime. Food was average. I had the chicken waffle and it wasn't flavorful. Could barely taste any spiciness from the chipotle sauce and the chicken itself. Chicken was however perfectly cooked. Wagyu burger was okay, too. Bit too pink in the middle so wasn't able to finish the rest. Beetroot latte tasted more of cinnamon than the beetroot.

I. G.A very enjoyable lunch experience, and great atmosphere~ I like the fact you can choose between different seatings: inside, outside, upstairs, down stairs in the open... Some special food choices too and extensive cabinet food range~ Fried chicken waffle and Rear tuna salad was massive, and the accompany sauce was pretty good~French toast was well presented and soft and sweet~
N. C.Okay 5 stars for my food and the venue BUT we did sit out back where there was some construction work next door, so 4.95 :o). Meant there was a little noise and dust that took away from the overall. The Chicken and Waffles are very good, I asked for without the jalapenos and they were nice about it - no judgement. I also tried some of the bacon omelette which was very good. The staff are nice and friendly, service is great and there's plenty to like about Urban Soul in Karaka. Their desert cabinet is scrumptious, you should get get something to take away if you forget to leave room for desert!
J.I have arrived at the restaurant around 1:40pm and we waited to on our table for over 15mins to be served. They even given us food menu, but when the waiter finally came to serve us, told me the kitchen was closed. Didnt even say sorry.
Should have told us before or apologized.

M. C.Yes I liked. The coffee (Ozone) was good. Had decaffeinated because it was afternoon. Was quite busy at around 1.15 still but soon thinned out after 1:30pm. Service was friendly and helpful.

Lots of staff on & good customer service. Place had really good ambience & very popularvwith a steady flow of customers for the 2 hrs we were there. Can't wait to go back to have something for lunch or dinner there😊

V. C.It was a lovely experience visiting urban soul cafe for the first time, had a super delicious beef brisket burger which definitely satisfied my hearty appetite. The long black also satisfied my caffeine cravings. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to have a casual coffee but also to those who want to have a bit more than just a quick coffee run.

W.Now I eat in many establishments throughout Aotearoa. You often find somethings good and some not so good. Fortunately at this restaurant, everything was as it should be. Service was excellent. Main a Beef Brisket Burger with fries was superb. We followed with a perfect chocolate mousse and a professionally made decaffeinated flat white. Surroundings and atmosphere to suit. I'd definitely be back again.

C.I've been here plenty of times before, although it has been a while since my last visit. Yesterday's service was not great. I stopped about 2pm to get salad from the cabinet, they always have good cabinet food options. I got served by what seemed to be the supervisor who handed my order to a staff member scraping plates. She continued scraping plates then walked off. I was left standing at the counter waiting. Another staff member asked if I was being served, well done to him (the barista) i said im waiting for my salad but the staff member has gone off with plates. So the supervisor asked someone else to do it while she continued what she was doing. There was no other customers at the counter, it was not busy. If your supervisor can't be bothered putting salad into a takeaway box, how do you think your staff learn customer service. Not impressed. By the way, the salad leaked through the container as well. Suggest putting the box in a bag.
E. Q.Nice food and great atmosphere! I went for a late lunch and got the smashed avo bagel with bacon. Was very tasty! Prices were a little high, hence the 4 stars, but atmosphere and food were very good so I didnt mind too much. Perfect place for a relaxed meal or alternatively saw a few casual business meetings occurring too. Bathrooms are lovely and clean, as is the rest of the building. If you time it wrongly (around 4pm on weekdays) may see some students there, but this is not overwhelming for the most part. Waiters/ staff were quite friendly but definitely not overly so. Overall would recommend for a nice meal if you're happy to pay a little bit more.

P. L.Lovely atmosphere, freindly staff, but the dishes we had were less than average. The brisket burger very dry and the pan fried fish, was cooked in butter, which was burnt, very bitter not pleasant at all.
R.We have been twice and will continue going, last night I had pan fried fish, a salad small jacket potato's, the remainder of the table had pizza. My meal was fantastic, last time I had steak, also good. What needs a special mention is the salad, wow, wow again!

One helpful comment might be that the bar is busy, best to go to the bar yo get your drinks, quicker.

Had a breakfast here today with a side of avocado ($5 for a brown spots covered half, when you can buy large ones for $1.99 each at the market).
Followed by a dessert cake that’s stale and at least a day old.

What a great atmosphere. Busy establishment and kid friendly. The food was decently priced, the coffee was amazing!! And the food was fantastic, we actually struggled to finish our plates. The portion sizes are very generous. The establishment was perfectly clean and the staff were very friendly and professional. Would recommend you to try this spot!

We had dinner here on our first night after arriving into Auckland and we loved it so much we had dinner and breakfast on the last night before we fly back home. The menu can be described as quiet modern. The menu is fairly meat heavy...but there are a few good vegetarian options available. The breakfast menu is equally good. I had the porridge and it was excellent for the cold morning. The coffee was a bit light for my taste even with a double shot. The cafe is located within a shopping village so there is ample parking.

Tasty variety of salads..meals and bite size snacks. Love Mochas and mine was perfect 10/10. Something for everyone.

E. J.I visited the cafe today for breakfast with my rice and baby, I was served by the manager Michelle. I told her that I needed to eat gluten free and she said she would make sure my food was safe. When the food came she informed me that part of it might be contaminated slightly and asked if that was ok. I replied that I was very sensitive and could not eat it, and she very quickly replaced my meal with one that I could eat. She was very warm and genuine, and insisted that my safety was more important than any inconvenience to the staff. I really appreciate her care and highly recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious! The service was even better and that means more to me than anything, thank you Urban Soul

Beautiful open doors and large windows, and the way they have set up the tables gives you more privacy than you'd think in an open place like this!
Only problem I had was that there was too many delicious looking cakes in the cabinet.. It took me way too long to decide, but I was very happy with my choice of the lemon and poppy seed cake :)

T. B.Upmarket cafe with very attractive decor. I have meet with clients as well as friends and family on a number of occasions. The food varies a little in quality: Sometimes outstanding - I ate a gluten free lemon cheesecake that was amazing -and I have had some yummy salads, the coffee has always been very good. Other times not so good - I had a gluten free chocolate mud cake that was not very pleasant, and a family member had a disappointing meal when we dined in the evening. Usually a good selection of Gluten free food and the kitchen staff were knowledgeable about GF requirements.
J. S.This is a very well run cafe and the best of its type. The food is good and the staff well trained. They are least trying to improve on their service and the experience. 10 years old but making changes every day. Go there.
J. G.Went for dinner on a weeknight, reasonably early (~6PM) so it was quiet, but this meant we were given a lot more attention from some rather friendly staff. I'd never had fried chicken on waffles before, but I feel sorry for the next place I go to that has it as the bar was set quite high here.
The chicken was fried but not fatty and the balance of flavours between the jalapeno, barbeque & cheese sauce was fantastic, and the waffles were light and not chewy. I'd like to remember what my wife had but I was rather distracted by what I had (typical male).
We don't often order dessert (mainly never because they usually arrive on a truck in the morning) but the options in the cabinet looked really good so we shared a cake which was good.
It's on our list to go back for brunch to see if it was just a once-off.
C.Choices from the cabinets or menu options both good .ordered coffee/ tea and our food came quickly .Very tasty. Staff were attentive but not pushy.

M. M.Really nice cafe. Good food and service but rather spoilt by being asked to pay a surcharge for using a credit card. No other cafe or restaurant I go to has ever asked for this. They should be wearing this cost themselves, not passing it on to the customer. Left a bad taste in my mouth and would now choose somewhere else as there are many nice cafes around.
A. P.Had a wounderful lunch here today. Food was very good with great presentation. Coffe was fantastic. However given its location with an outlokk of either a busy main road leading onto the southern mway or if seated in the courtyard a view of the back of the other shops I feel the food wss a bit overpriced. I also felt the outside courtyard area could do with a serious water blasting of the area and the tables and chairs either replaced or rejuvenated somehow as they are starting to show their age which dosnt tie in with the high end venue there trying to portray.

E. F.I stopped off for some takeaway food from the cabinet. I had a croissant filled with fried chicken, crispy bacon, jalapenos and spinach. It was so freakin amazing!!! Just like their sister branchs in Manukau and out west the place is tidy, warm and welcoming and so clean. I highly recommend this place.

It is hard to rate overall at this time because I go here on Tuesday nights and I don't book with my group. Soooo...
The food is 5 star, loved the salmon, ginger slices, beans, my kind of meal. My friends get pizza and like the meat lovers. We drink Sol beer here, great selection of beers although it is DB's offerings. The wine list seems complete.
Urban Soul is in Karaka just off the motorway, so handy for us, lots of parking.
I have been concerned about the speed of drinks delivery, never with food, and have watched to see what the problem is, can't work it out, but maybe people going to the bar causes tables to wait... Or more staff needed or more efficiency, hard to know...
Anyway we like it and wish them a happy profitable future...

We had a set menu of fish chicken or beef for main and a coice of cabinet desserts. Mains were generous on size and very tasy. Almond and orange cake and hubby had a berry custard pot. They were just average and prob should have left dessert.
Like to come back and try the real menu.

I've been here many times (it's the local cafe), and regardless of how busy it is it seems to take forever for these guys to make a coffee. Seriously, at least 10-15 mins every time for a single coffee, even when almost empty. Less than average service for an above average price.

R. S.Nice new modern cafe, ordered two chicken ceaser burgers and a caramel latte and a beer - came to over $60. Quite expensive for a lunch. Coffee was amazing! Quite small for what you pay for (regular) burger buns were stale, didn't enjoy, and found the burger itself to be lacking some sauce as it was very dry! Enjoyed the atmosphere, would probably only return for a coffee in the future, as the food defiantly didn't taste as good as it looked & was nothing to rave about !
U. A.Nov17 Up from one to three stars and should get even better! This Urban Soul Cafe had a bad day when I first visited in October. Today it was sparkling clean, smiling service from the counter staff and fast delivery of nice food and coffee for me and an old friend. Large number of young families mixed in with singles and older couples. Try the slightly off-beat desserts and dishes. They'll reward you with new tastes!

What else do you, the customer, do when you've paid for your relatively expensive lunch order and you sit at your table for five minutes and ask about your milk shake but you still wait more than ten minutes? The place is not busy. Finally your milk shake arrives but the waiter wobbles on the way to your table and the glass is dripping with overflow! Then you open your cutlery combo (knife and fork wrapped in a serviette) and you find that the serviette is dirty inside? Uughhh ...
Shortly after 2:00PM on a Saturday afternoon we walked into this cafe-bistro. We'd heard about an Urban Soul opening in Karaka. So we made a special trip. The coffee arrived quickly. So did my guest's wine order and savoury dish. But the rest of the experience including the unsmiling young woman at the order-counter ... ? Can only get better.

B. P.Although the food is excellent and staff friendly, I was extremely disappointed when I put my credit card into the machine it came up with additional charges for using credit card. It's bad enough hotels and airlines do this but now cafes. To make it worse they dont even have paywave.Probably wont go again in protest. There are lots of other cafes out there that dont stuff you like this.
A.Good option if you are in Pukekohe. Options available in the cabinet could have been a bit more. Brilliant interiors, friendly staff and ample parking.

Easter Sunday I was with 2 friends, I had been to Urban Soul the previous week for lunch and the way I spoke about it my friends wanted to go to try it out, we all agree we will be back. Thanks to 2 staff members WAI and Michelle, you were so helpful and pleasant, definitely an asset to a awesome place to visit.
M.The food is good, portions are small. We have been a few times for lunch which was great and the quality is always ok. We have also been a few times for a family meal at night which I do not think we would do again. Why? The childrens (kids meals) chips were soggy while the chicken and fish they ate was ok. Our meals (adults) were tasty but small, the broccoli was good (side dish) and the fish was nice. Feels like the prices are a tad too much for what we got at night. Would I go again?... Yes for lunch and maybe dinner as adults but not so much for the children. Its a place that nearly transforms itself into a good restaurant at night from a great lunchtime meal.

r.Breakfast and cabinet food is only look good. Doesn't taste great at all. Dry and tasteless. The only reason got 3 stars os because of their homemade tea.
P.Great counter service but they forgot my Bap, and had to remind the waiting staff a couple of times before it arrived 15 minutes after everyone elses food. Chocolate Milkshake needs improving... probably a better dutch cocoa powder in the mix.

D.Guys , yes we have beaten covid, but the flu ,hepatitis etc still gets transmitted through saliva, having your food open and displayed in the very same area that ppl walk up and order food from is so not ok. This is our winter....you are next to a retirement home, lots of older patrons who can be so badly affected by winter flus, yet ur open food is a violation of all the so called safety measures that we have put in place for one virus....its not that we are immune to everything else now. Level whatever does not mean ignoring basic hygiene practices..i dont want spit covered muffins and scones...cover them up. Its ridiculous....

Z.We were waiting in line to order and a staff member presumed that we didn't know what we were getting and asked us impolitely to sit down and come back when we had figured it out. Didn't apologise when we clarified that we were ready to order. Then the staff member serving was also blunt and impolite didn't use her please and thank yous nor did she apologise when she made another error. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad day however our brunch started with a dampener before it had even begun. Food was however quite good and the other staff seemed friendly.
One of our cabinet orders was forgotten however the did give us free brownie to make up which was lovely and that staff member who helped in that regard was really lovely. Overall really nice but marred by the initial service and impression.

S.We caught up with friends for early brunch at this ‘new’ establishment close to their home in Karaka. Their cabinet food on display looks amazing and so does the very appealing industrial decor.
Staff was very friendly and cheerful and would have rated a 5-star if not for our coffee cups not being cleared until requested.
