Crisp, delicious fresh flavours, a true revelation nestled in the heart of Papamoa! Excellent, friendly and professional staff make this exceptional restaurant even better. I can honestly say the Lantern roasted duck was the best I have ever had, and I am big fan of a well prepared water fowl, not many do it well, these guys and girls nailed it. Treat yourself, well done Lantern team!

Must admit I cannot fault Lantern! Food and service are 5/5, and would definitely come back. Refer to photos for inspiration.

Lantern offers great food and nice service. The outdoor space is great and they play great and vibrant music too. Tokyo Drift cocktail is tasty. My favorite is the duck dish which is quite unique. It reminds me of my trip to Beijing trying the famous duck there. We will come back with a lot of friends. Highly recommended.

Lantern is a restaurant worth travelling for! We have dined here many times now and brought friends from all over to share this exceptional hospitality experience. The setting makes you feel like you are in a far away tropical destination, which is what we need right now! Highlights of the menu for us are the prawn toast, massaman curry, and the duck fried rice, but to be honest, you can’t go wrong! Make sure you try out their cocktails too!

Our daughter and partner highly recommended this place and it didn’t disappoint ! The service was excellent, they took our drink orders promptly and even though they were busy they had our drinks on the table very quickly. Then there was the food , all 6 of us throughly enjoyed our food , we are so lucky in Papamoa to now have a place like this that does the best Asian Fusion around ! The decor with tropical plants makes for an awesome ambiance , just a fantastic experience all round !

We had dinner here during the week. Booked through the website which was quick and easy. Vaccine passes were scanned which is always a good sign. This place is bigger inside than I expected, and it has lovely décor. We had the Tiger Prawn Toast which were ah-mazing. The Malaysian Fried Chicken and the Pad Sew Ew were also super tasty - I really liked the rolled rice cake in the Pad Sew Ew, it was almost like eating gnocchi. For dessert I had the Coconut Sago with Melon Sorbet which was surprisingly delicious too. The food had lots of great flavours and textures, coriander and chilli are a couple of my faves - but if you don’t like these, this probably isn’t for you. Most of all the service was excellent. We will definitely be back.

We had a 60th birthday here last week - 18 people, set menu, and equally important in this crazy Covid time in a covered outdoor space. The food was fabulous, everyone commented how much they enjoyed it. The service from everyone was superb - Summer in particular was very attentive and genuinely wonderful. Drinks were fantastic as well - it was a great night, and so happy we chose to have it at Lantern. Thanks team.

Located near Pāpāmoa Plaza and the domain, this beautiful spot offers great Asian fusion cuisine with plenty sharing plates and cocktail/mocktail options. Stunning garden area and comfortable booths to sit while enjoying the live band. Great customer service too.

I stumbled across this restaurant online and we travelled from Rotorua to visit, it did not disappoint! I was so engrossed in how amazing each dish was I can hardly remember the service to comment! We're stuck on what our favourite dish was as everything was so flavourful but the Fish Green Curry deserves a shout out! I was being fussy confirming which of the great drink options to choose but the waitress was very attentive not to forget I was still to get a drink and helped me pick something I'd like! We have many 'to visit' restaurants on our list but I see returning to Lantern again and again getting in the way of that!

I’ve been to Lantern with friends a couple of times and it has been so impressive on every occasion. The menu is carefully selected and absolutely every dish we tried is a winner - the duck dishes in particular are real standouts. Lantern also have a great drinks menu, with a selection of classic Asian cocktails and some cool creations of their own (Hot Hanoi is great!). There’s a few nice wine options too, and a number of local NZ beers if that’s your thing. The team are attentive and service is quick. Food is served tapas style and arrives as it’s ready, perfect for sharing. Will definitely be back, super spot!

Amazing fresh food, definitely tried some new asian style food its a damn unique menu, was blown away. A very welcoming enviroment too that suits date night and also cocktails and nibbles with the girls (or blokes lol) 😍 so glad this is down the road from me i honestly dont think i could get sick of it. Eaten here 3 times since its opening, can fault nothing!. 🔥🔥
