Can't fault the excellent service; the staff were lovely, friendly and attentive. The food came out promptly, and cooked to perfection. Not the cheapest place, but you get what you pay for!

We held our fully vegan wedding reception dinner here. Kim and the team went over and above to make sure everything was perfect, including a custom vegan menu for the evening. The food was delicious, service was amazing, and our guests had a great time. Would definitely recommend!

The Refinery recently hosted our special family event. The staff went above and beyond to make it successful. Nothing was a bother and the service was great, lovely platters and food. Everyone had a nice time and staff also helped with the decorations for set up and helped tidy up our stuff afterwards. Cannot recommend them highly enough. They have a separate social room available for small groups, nicely decorated and private.

Our first time there with friends on a terrible wet Sunday. The staff were welcoming and service was very good. The menu is perhaps a bit basic but we all found something suitable. Our meals arrived in good time, were tasty and portion sizes, well, big. The cost was reasonable and we will certainly go back to the refinery and I'd happily recommend it.

A bit disappointed with the steak meal- mainly the price. Was thinking $34 for a steak it must be a decent meal. Was more of a pub type steak. I’ve heard the burgers are pretty good there

Once again I'm dissapointed. No soy milk for drinks even though it's on the menu and you charge extra for it! The only eatery in Paraparaumu that doesn't have it or an alternative for those who can't have dairy. The food is good basic pub grub but I find it totally frustrating not to be able to finish my meal with a hot drink. Thankfully you are blessed to have lovely staff.

Plenty of parking right outside the door. I booked online which was confirmed by phone by staff. The meal can be chosen on their website too. There were lots of free tables but we were placed right beside people already seated. There are not many choices on the menu for lunch but enough to suit all tastes, including a vegetarian option. The pulled pork burger was stacked high with a stick through it. I had to deconstruct it and eat with knife and fork. The handcut chips were delicious. My table companions enjoyed the chicken burgers, but the pork was overwhelmed by the sauce the meat had been soaked in. The table felt a little sticky. The ladies toilet cubicle is quite dark when seated but there is an extra light on the wall above the cistern which helps. I wonder how many people have fallen down the step from the footpath outside the door which is not highlighted in any way.

My sisters and I dined at the Refinery last Wednesday evening. I was a bit worried when I ordered the 300g scotch filllet steak that I would not be able to eat it all. Ever since last week, I keep thinking about the damn steak and trying to think of an excuse to dine in again!! Best steak I believe I have ever eaten. Perfectly cooked to how I like my steak (medium rare). The only reason I rated 4 stars was due to the salad. Found it a little boring. Customer service was great !!

Had a really great 21st party for our daughter. She had a fabulous time. Platters and Pizzas were excellent and a special thank you mention to John who looked after us superbly from the beginning to the end. A great guy, so appreciated his and the staffs friendliness and help. Recommend highly. 🤩

Recently our United Netball Club had a Quiz night at the refinery as a fundraiser. We had around 70-80 people turn up . Heaps of room for everyone. The atmosphere was awesome. the bar staff were great and the quiz master always had a joke or two. Lots of laughs. Fun night had by all.

Hadn't been here for a while so decided to check it out. Asked for a beef burger, they didn't have one. Quite disappointed with that initially but they said they had a brisket burger, so I tried it. Don't think you need a beef burger if your brisket burger is that good. Will definitely be having another. Decent choice of beer also.

Our meals x4 for lunch were excellent, my pulled pork and salad burger and chips was first class, thoroughly enjoyed. Restaurant, bar and eatery were recently reopened and redecorated very tastefully. They have a very nice menu for meals,not huge but more than enough variety with an extensive drinks list. Very happy to reckon mend this bar and eatery for lunches, dinners and drinks, plus as a cafe.

Came here Friday evening for dinner, safe to say we all left very impressed and full! Holy Cow burger was out of this world not what I expected in the best way, the Pork belly was thoroughly enjoyed by my Mum and my old man struggled through his Ribs! Today I went to the Refinery I had the ceasar salad the dressing was creamy, rich, and tangy. It had lemon juice, garlic, parmesan cheese, egg and anchovies in it along with bacon and additional chicken I personally don't love a really fishy taste but truly think this dressing was amazing with the anchovy. The ambience was perfect. The staff are lovely. Cant wait to try the wood fire pizzas soon. Thanks Refinery. 👌

AMAZING POKE BOWL. I love hanging out here with staff and friends, and especially love the effort the kitchen puts into providing me a Vegan option. The POKE bowl is brilliant, along with the Veganator, such fun names. But a great venue, super vibe, lovely owners who want you to enjoy the space. I love it.

We went here on Tuesday night on a rare occasion to treat ourselves to a dinner out. It was absolutely awesome, both the customer service and food was outstanding! Hubby had the slow cooked ribs and although it was an all you can eat challenge he couldn't move past the first serving - lol The portion was generous and cooked to perfection. I had the the pork belly and it was out of this world with regards to tenderness and the crackle was perfect. Arna, Mel and Hannah were the staff on this night and they were so lovely and obliging and made us feel like valued customers during our time there. To be honest we were skeptical at first as we came here when they first opened and the experience wasn't great. It seems Refinery had done some serious work behind the scenes since then, will definitely be recommending everyone and anyone! Well done team :-)

Had my sons 21st birthday at the Refinery last weekend, and I only have good things to say. Kim and John went above and beyond in getting everything sorted and always came back to me in a timely manner on any queries. The food and service was amazing, and I would like to send a special shoutout to our server for the night, Charlie (Charlise), she was a delight, friendly and helpful. Defs recommend you guys for functions.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing seems to be a trouble to them. The food was delicious......sticky date pudding needs an extra mention. We chatted with the owners about the possibility of a few cushions for the outside seating area and they immediately ran with it. Talk about proactive! We had a great family lunch and will return again.

This is the go-to bar and eatery in Paraparaumu. Very handy access off Kapiti Rd or the old SH1. I particularly enjoyed the Tiger beer served in a large Tiger glass handle - very nice. Service was good and they adhered to the covid level 2 restrictions as required.

Would be great if you have a big booking with quite a few kids in the group, to actually make sure the kids food come out first, not last!! Also would be nice if the duty manager would not keep giving us evil looks for our kids being kids!!! Nice food... service definitely could have been better

My Roast Pork was devine, even with crackle . I finished with the White Chocolate / Lime mousse? OMGOOSH. don't be deceived by the plain glass, it's more than ample. The choco was not bitter.. I would have liked a hint more citrus.. But this desert just melts in the mouth.
