What a cool restaurant! Beautiful view of the beach and Kapiti Island, the service was great, friendly staff and a amazing chef, working very fast as I didn't have to wait too long. I had the Prawn and Butternut Curry and for desert White Chocolate Panna Cotta - perfect! I enjoyed the food and definitely recommend it to anyone who's a bit of a foodie. 👌

Food was great and gorgeous sea views. Just did not like the water that was brought to the table. It smelled of chlorine. We live nearby and our tap water tastes better. That said, it is a beautiful place with good food. Wait staff are efficient and friendly. I'm just being picky

My husband and I have never been to this restaurant before but our friends have, a few times. Service was generally good but one of the waitresses could have been less grouchy. As for our food, I had the waterfront burger, my hubby had the caesar salad, my friend had duck curry and her partner had the lamb burger. We all enjoyed our meals except for my friend's partner who didn't enjoy his medium rare lamb burger. I had the sticky date pudding for dessert and it was the best I've had! Overall, we had a great experience. We will definitely come back.

Fantastic view of Kapiti Island and the beach from the outside dining area. Good reliable pub style food. Not too busy on weekdays during lunch time so you’re likely to get a table with a view. Friendly staff and good selection of beers.

Lovely staff. Fast service especially for how busy they were Saturday lunchtime. Nice tasting food, well priced. As my school aged daughter was spending a voucher she won, they were so considerate that she didnt spend all prize $ & reissued to her the last $10 back on voucher form. Extremely impressed

Very cool staff who are attentive, personable and friendly. surprisingly groovy mixed patronage from kids and families, stylish young locals - the coast is clearly upping its style.., empty nesters and visitors. Great value and , of course an awesome view over beach sea and Kapiti Island. Easy parking...whats not to strongly recommend here? worth a detour.

Situated on the second/top floor the relaxed atmosphere and open deck offer waterfront views which contain the carpark and a small boat ramp 100m away. Diverse menu not cheap. Good coffee machine and eye catching biscuits on entry. Best place to watch the sunset.

Came here last weekend with my partner. I had fish of the day (Gurnard). Was very tasty, fresh and beautifully presented. My partner had the steak pie and was also very yum. I had a riesling which was delicious too. The food came out quick. Only critique was that it was a bit more on the expensive side. New to area though so could be the standard out here. Will go back.

It was nice the staff are friendly. Because it was a stormy night we didn't want to stay long. One good thing there was a canopy over our heads and the heater going. If I had my way we would have been inside, but at least we weren't cold

Took my parents to the Waterfront for a nice Sunday afternoon lunch. Service was excellent, food was great. A very nice atmosphere, nice location although the derelict old pools underneath detract just a little. Plenty of parking, highly recommend.

Superb location - omg, those sunsets! - with prompt friendly and knowledgeable staff, both behind the bar and at the table. The wine list is balanced but not hugely lengthy. Cocktail list is interesting, and Madame enjoyed hers very much (feijoa elderflower vodka!) We shared a taster menu - salmon gravlax was my choice, Madame had the ham hock pistachio terrine - which were beautifully presented and delicious. We will be back.

It is a lovely place to eat at pretty much any time of the day. The menu is pretty small but everything I've had here is good. They do work to accommodate dietary needs.

Stayed in our motorhome here and decided to get takeaways, so pleased we did. A decent burger not slaughtered in sauce that you could actually pick up and eat! Rustic chips that were well salted...perfect. Yum bread and dips and mine was the chowder, very very very good! Thanks to the chef there we had a lovely camper van meal xx

Went as a group of 5 of us, aunt is from Wellington so she recommended somewhere close to where we were staying and said it was a good place to go. Food was ok, duck curry they only had one left so one of us got that. Seemed like a duck leg with some Chicken Tonight sauce. Steak was ordered, informed no asparagus substituted with mushrooms, a bit tough around the edges, but generally ok. Fish and chips were ok. Waitresses let it down mostly. Water all over the table, slow to serve, no pepper in about 4 grinders we tried, one kept replying everything was 'sweet as' - not sure if this is fitting in with the sailor theme of the restaurant or what. Reached across us to pass our food. Didnt ask how our meals were or if we needed more drinks. It's the small things, attention to detail and lack of training which showed. Overall ok, but wouldn't go back.

I've been a regular for the last 3 yrs and the service is always consistent. I even get a friendly nod from the kitchen staff. I promise you a happy kitchen is a rare thing and a good sign. I understand the management are involved in other venues and it shows. Regardless of the weather it's a great spot to follow the moods of the ocean + Kapiti Island. Bon Appetit 😁

Walked down the beach from Paraparaumu with family visiting from the U.K. and decided to call in at the Waterfront. Really pleased we did as dogs are allowed on the external decking and the staff kindly provided fresh water for our thirsty furry friend. We don't eat a lot at lunch time so we decided to share starters of Calamari, Garlic bread and savoury potato wedges, all perfectly cooked and we were provided with extra plates. The coffee was great and the service from all of the staff was really good. Will be back.

Sister and husband ordered lamb cutlets with potato and parsnip....the parsnip was a puree, so thought the plate lacked some colour - a vegetable or two more would have been attractive and in keeping with the price of the dish l thought. I had vegetarian pasta with mushrooms and a parmesan cheese, once again a little colorless. However, we all enjoyed our meals and absolutely could not fault the lovely service we received.

The ambience and service is great here. We did not have any food but stopped for drinks. I strongly suggest barista training however as the coffee was extremely burnt and bitter. The outlook this place has over the ocean is second to none. Great location!
