Reviews of Akarua Wines & kitchen by Artisan
A.
Absolutely loved everything from the garden to the fact that I could bring my dog. From the location to the delicacy if the food. From the service to the kindness and friendliness of the staff.
It took me too many months, years to come, but worth the wait and I'll definitely make my way back!
L.
We've been to Akarua a few times now and we love it!! The wines are delicious and the setting is beautiful. It's a buzzing space, but with a lovely relaxing feel at the same time. The staff are lovely and accomodating. There was a really great duo playing music as well which just added to the ambience!! Such a nice place to spend the afternoon.
S.
Beautiful setting and delicious food
The service was excellent and so was the food. This will be one of the best places to visit in Queenstown.
J.
Great wee spot. Wonderful garden setting. Great food & wonderful wine.
J.
Highly recommended. Very nice place to have a meal but it is very popular so do remember to book ahead. We only managed to get a breakfast as it was fully booked for dinner. The colonial outdoors dining area is relaxed and inviting, that should be your first choice if possible as the inside is slightly less refined. Their coffees are nice and strong, but you can also order a morning cocktail if you prefer something a bit stronger! Their food is nicely presented and very tasty.
R.
Went here for breakfast a few times it’s amazing , every dish is perfect! Beautiful setting too & they give you blankets to keep warm if you’re outside . Fave breakfast spot in queenstown area by far
p.
Popped here to celebrate my wife's birthday. This place is a lovely restaurant set in a garden setting. We ordered a lamb shoulder (to share), an Aubergine Parmagiana and hot bread with truffle butter. The bread and the truffle butter was a beautiful mix. The lamb shoulder was perfectly done as the meat just fell off the bone. Our wait staff, Hannah, gave us such wonderful service. Definitely a fantastic experience with lovely food. Will definitely be back.
S.
This was one of the best meals we've had anywhere in 4 visits to New Zealand now, with great food, good wine, fantastic service and a wonderful location.
We came here for Sunday lunch on a perfect January day and were entranced by the outdoor setting, and immediately requested a switch from the restaurant to the garden.
Service was friendly, they explained the food and wine choices well, and meals came out faster than we'd expected given how busy they were.
To top it off, the food was sublime. Mains are double-sized to share, and we chose the duck, with a side salad. While more than enough for 2, when we saw the fantastic roast potatoes at the next table, we couldn't resist and went back and added to the order.
Wine is available by the glass, or bottle, but come half an hour early, do a wine tasting at the adjoiining cellar door, and then choose your favourite.
A perfect Sunday lunch.
T.
Amazing place the environment is so soothing and the staffs are very friendly. And the food was good. Had a soft scramble perfectly made after a really long time.
S.
I've had lunch here twice and both times have been impressed. Delicious food, great service, tasty wine and nice garden atmosphere. Looking forward to going back again.
C.
Beautiful venue, lucky to be seated outside when the weather is nice. Food was just works of art - please keep the cauliflorets permanent! That was my favorite dish!
The staff may need some training however, our waitress didn't tell us what our dishes were when putting it down, and she placed it right across us when we were talking and felt a little distracted. The same waitreas also didnt ask us if we were done with our food before clearing the plates. So just need a little bit more communication to let us know what's happening...
But other than that,, we had a lovely wine tasting and lunch. And we'd still look forward to coming back for the food!
P.
Great spot for a wine tasting complemented by a great selection of other beverages and good food.
The outdoor area is just glorious on sunny day .
Once you work out which wine you like order a full glass and get some food grab a nice spot and relax.
The staff know their wines and can help you find the perfect wine for you
They even have a great little cubby house for kids filled with books to keep them occupied!!!
M.
Great staff and amazing food. Didn't book and recommend you do if a couple. Had to ask between starter and main as took a while. Wanted icecream and the waitress kindly offered some off the kids menu. Plenty of indoor and shaded outdoor seating. Tastings busy on Sunday and had to stand for it. Decided not to do for this reason.
S.
YUSSSS!!!!
Local recommendation found us here one lazy afternoon after some gold panning and V8 racing.
Turns out our info was good.
Great even!
Wot a cool setting (under the blossoming cherry trees).
Wot GREAT personable/ sociable service.
Wot GREAT GREAT wines- go a couple of tastings- then buy a bottle or two and the tastings were on the house.
Wot better way to spend a couple hours?
Well.....order the platter, add meat. It’ll be the best damn platter you have this year!
L.
Dining out is not always just about the food and the drink. It's about the experience.
Our meal here today was special.
The food was stunning, the wine and service even better!
It'll be on our "to do list" on our next visit to Queenstown. ❤️
D.
Great artisan food and good wines. Nice place to stop by near Queenstown. Parking can be a little difficult with limited space. For an artisan restaurant, some of the waitress could use with more training.
M.
Lovely stop on my way to Arrowtown. The wine is superb and so is the service, charming little winery.
M.
Lovely setting and the service and food exceeded our expectations. It is a nicer setting than in the photos.
B.
The most incredible food and wine I’ve had in a long time. We just about tried the entire menu! I highly recommend the pinot rosé, the ceviche (actually all of the food). The setting is so serene too, we had an incredible time.
E.
First time in Otago and a friend of mine recommended this place for lunch. We booked ahead of time but forgot to mention we were bringing the dog, and they were so accommodating about it, making sure he had water and shade by the table. Akarua is in an absolutely amazing setting with a beautifully manicured garden and some cool sculptural artwork, the staff were lovely and attentive, the food was spectacular (especially the whitebait - my nan doesn’t even make it that good), and we polished off the experience with a glass of their excellent Reisling. Couldn’t leave without a bottle to take home! Wonderful, secluded, and can’t recommend it highly enough.
B.
The day started with a hearty breakfast provided by our hotel and we made our way to Arrowtown, a former gold mining town that has seen its glory days during the gold rush. This is also the town where many Chinese miners came and settled in the historic small town near Queenstown. We had few hours exploring the town - checking out the Chinese settlements, walking along the one way street (which was also the main road) of Arrowtown.
When it was about time to leave, we headed to Akarua Wines and Kitchen located along the Arrowtown-Lake Hayes road. It was still early (not yet lunch time) and we were still not feeling hungry but the temptation of wine tasting proved too much to resist. I love wine tasting experience and since there were so many wineries in this area, i chose the one that was the most convenient to us. Who knew that it turned out to be one of the better wine experience for us?
I paid a minimal fee for their wine tasting session which comprises of 2 pinot noir, 1 rose, 1 Chardonnay and 1 sauvignon blanc. To be honest, there was nothing exciting about the wines at all but the service was fantastic and I love talking to the server. They'd waive the fee if you buy a bottle in the end which I didn't.
Then it was time for the food to be served and we took our seats
◾Free range pork belly with chilly caramel, pickled cucumber & red cabbage, coriander, and puff crackling $20.50 - the dish itself was quite good if you love sweet chilly sauce. The pork belly was tender but I think that the chilly sauce didn't match the meat.. perhaps they (westerner) couldn't take too spicy.
◾Cedar wood Mt Cook Alpine salmon with horseradish cream, crackling, lenon, and shoots $38.50 (serves two) - this turned out to be one of the most (if not the most) delicious smoked salmon fillet that I'd ever eaten in my life. The smoke was gentle and the salmon fillet was cooked with the right amount of time and seasoning. The meat was very flaky and the accompanying tartar sauce was a great compliment. For me, I prefer to eat just the way it was because the natural taste of the salmon was oh-so-good. This could be the reason for a revisit in the future!
I swear that I would come back here just for the salmon itself, and of course for other dishes that we didn't order (because we were still quite full from breakfast earlier).. and perhaps with a glass of their Brut or better vintage Pinot Noir. The place itself was bright, with cost atmosphere and friendly service team. If I weren't pressed for time, I could easily spend at least 2-3 hours exploring their other wines.
P.
Sensational spot to enjoy a long lunch. Scrumptious dishes that kept the vegans and the carnivores happy, all served with a smile in the beautiful garden setting. Can't wait to go back!
S.
Really good food really good wine 🍷
b.
Highly recommend. Great customer service, amazing food and lovely garden location. Can’t wait to go back.
P.
Best food ...wine..atmosphere in ages for us all. Sharing platers which is a great idea as we got to try fish....beef cheeks and pork belly. Incredible flavours. Loved their wine as well. Top notch service. If I get back to Queenstown then I will be back. Thanks so much
O.
I love the place, is very nice during autumn... you have to book in advance because is always chock a block... but the dishes are great, specially the waffles... yummm :) the service is great as well! Very nice staff
G.
Excellent range of food, the photo doesn’t do justice, it was a layered meal,
Seared halloumi, poached free range eggs, smoked labne, basil pesto, chilli oil
almond dukkah, charred ciabatta, I added bacon and mushroom.
Also has a kids play area. Also wine tasting and sales as well.
Great staff but it would pay to book first as normally very busy.
C.
This place is the best. Their staff rock and food is divine!! The lamb dish and the potatoes were food for the gods!! Thank you!
S.
Lovely outdoor setting amongst the trees. Superb menu with great portion sizes.
5 star service
And of course great wine.
Prefer this setting over Amisfield
L.
Next time you’re in the Queenstown and looking for a long lunch at a vineyard, instead of going to the ever-popular and fabulous (but hard to get a reservation at) Amisfield, head down the road to Akarua. In a lovely garden setting, the food is divine and wine is lovely. We had a selection of starters, then shared slow-cooked beef cheeks (forgot to photograph it) with vege & salad sides, washed down with a beautiful chardonnay. Simply delicious. We hired ebikes in Arrowtown and did a big loop before going around Lake Hayes to Akarua. Great day out.
R.
Had a wonderful lunch here with friends, excellent service and food. The roast duck was superb. Highly recommended. Vax cert required.
A.
This is a lovely setting dinning and wine tasting. Beautiful old cottage with garden tables. Trees and flowers a spring and flower treat.
M.
Beautiful breakfast. Amazing presentation. Big portions. Perfect outdoor space to have a brunch in a sunny day!
N.
Good breakfast but not as tasty as in most NZ cafés. They apply a 15% surcharge on Bank Holidays. Definitely overpriced. You pay for the rustic setting, location is by the road so not quiet at all.
Service could be better. We would have waited ages to be seated on our reserved table if we didn't stop a waitress. Isn't it commonsense to welcome guests when they line up at the door entrance? 🤷♀️
We didn't mind a wrong drink, an egg shell in the plate or an overcooked poached egg. It's January 1st after all, we all haven't slept much. But when you are told the wine shop is not opened yet (5 min to go before the official opening time) and got to wait outside while the two clerks are "busy" chatting. Well, they can't be serious. Not worth the hype. Just left the place gutted and will definitely not return. Do not recommend this place!
C.
Akarua is easily the best brunch spot in the Arrowtown area, if not Queenstown in general. Don't miss their take on french toast! The coffee is great, and it's a super comfortable spot to hang out and just enjoy the morning. Their wine selection is pretty amazing too, but trust me, you want to make a point of heading there for breakfast too.
N.
Food delicious, wines amazing, guitarist so talented. Only hitch is the price (which is totally valid and appropriate), but definitely high end! Thanks for an amazing day!
Q.
My wife and I went for breakfast. Fast service and good quality food. Portion sizes were just perfect. Was particularly impressed with the friendly staff and service. Will be back on my next visit to Queenstown.
Y.
An awesome reception of my one & only daughter got married in a medieval setting in the middle of nowhere in the forest...great food & friendly staffs & very country fine dining 🍖🥰😍😘
S.
A beautiful wee winery away from the main road of the Gibbston valley. Absolutely sublime food.
The tempura prawn was delicious and light. Confit duck, very morish and rich.
Highly recommend
J.
Gorgeous winery and beautiful food! A must try if you are in Queenstown/Arrowtown😊🙌🏻 and they make a very tasty Pinot Noir.
J.
The first lady that greeted us was really rude and abrupt - we’d advised when we made the booking we’d be 5-10mins late + as we arrived she was pretty much like well u better be ready to order as soon as you sit down bc we have 2 really large groups at 1030 (she tells us this when our booking is for 1015 - did she expect us out by that time? I don’t see how that’s even relevant), but then left us sitting there for 15min before anyone came to see us! Thankfully food and coffee was great and everyone else there was really lovely but not a great start !
S.
Lovely food and beautiful deco. Wine tasting set interesting
S.
Coffee was average but DAMN the wines were delicious. Second best on the tour today only to a little winnery down the road (Rockburn). Excellent service and the cutest atmosphere
P.
Great spot for a little lunch. Cute menu and lovely wines served by the glass.
Don’t bother adding the charcuterie to the platter. We got two pieces of meat for $20.
M.
A beautiful place to visit. Food was amazing!!! Wine tasting was good too. A must visit
A.
Wonderful food. Very busy. Would come again.
G.
The kitchen smelled fantastic, but we only came for a quick wine tasting in the garden. Loved the rosé and Sauvignon Blanc. Husband liked one of the heavier red pinots. Tasting is $5 per person, but we couldn’t leave without a bottle. Friendly, informative service, though we forgot to ask about the history of the vineyard. Hoping they start exporting to the US.
A.
We visited on our Hop on Hop off Wine Tour and it was amazing, the food was delicious and the girls were very knowledgeable about the wines. Thanks team!
S.
The service was friendly and excellent.
The setting is lovely - no particularly wonderful views, but very rustic and relaxing.
The wine tasting menu was the best I've had or seen in Central Otago (admittedly not a huge sample size though).
The meals were really, really good. Our party ordered several items from the menu, and they were all excellent. The beef short ribs and Mt Cook salmon were particularly good. We did not order dessert, but they looked good too.
T.
Outstanding place for lunch, you’ll need to book early to get a table. The salmon was amazing!
M.
The food is on par with amisfield. This stuff could be slightly more attentive however. Less than five minutes away from Arrowtown and Millbrook Resort. 15 minutes away from Queenstown.
A.
Came for brunch on a late Tuesday morning. There was no wait and no reservations needed. Ordered a great breakfast and enjoyed the comfy atmosphere as we plotted out the rest of our day. Service did not rush us and they were attentive and kind.
A.
Delicious brunch in beautiful gardens - would definitely recommend. Be sure to book ahead because it’s a busy spot
B.
Good lunch. Lovely refreshing Rose.
M.
Regularly have breakfast here, the waffles are awesome, but definitely try the rest of the menu too! Never disappointed!
C.
Will start by saying the food itself was fantastic. Had the beef cheeks, a watermelon salad and affogato, along with a glass of their 2018 Bannockburn pinot noir (very average compared to many other pinots I’ve had from the same region).
Unfortunately, the experience was soured by especially poor service. I had dined alone at Amisfield recently and was treated like a king. In comparison, the staff at Akarua managed to forget my existence multiple times and I never knew who my dedicated server actually was. Had to walk inside to ask for a couple tastes of wines, then again to place my food order, then again to pay my bill, each time after waiting 15+ minutes for someone to swing by my table.
The manager comped my glass of wine (thank you), but presented it as “since you seem unhappy with our service” rather than actually apologizing.
Additionally, you can buy their wines at the bottle shop nearby in Arrowtown for about 30% cheaper so don’t bother purchasing anything here.
Spend your time and money at Amisfield if you’re looking for a lunch-at-a-winery experience.
K.
This place was Akarua Wines & Kitchen by Artisan, not to be confused with the winery. Lovely place, great atmosphere we are only giving this three stars because of the extras on the menu, we ordered Beef Cheeks to share which was nice, small portion for what you paid for two people.
My friends ordered a portion of potatoes cost $14 crazy, we ordered the corn for $18 for four small pieces burnt
Dissatisfied with the price of the sides be warned well over the top of any sides we have ever ordered and with a small main made it a very expensive lunch.
Would go back only fir the wines and selected meals, in Queenstown no need for overcharging for sides like that.
Four of us eat out a lot and we were all disappointed overall
A.
Beautiful garden, excellent food and wine, really enjoyed this place. Would love to go back some time
G.
Had a beautiful lunch here whilst holidaying in Queenstown. The food was delicious, wine was equally as good, the staff were friendly, beautiful location and was all at a reasonable cost. Can't wait to come back.
E.
one of the places I really re-visit near queenstown area.
good value good taste good visualizations of foods and restaurant.
C.
My favorite breakfast spot! Great atmosphere and delicious food!
K.
10/10!! We had the most incredible lunch at Akarua on Sunday, the service, the wine, the food was all very exceptional and not too pretentious, will definitely be returning!
Such a stunning venue! The blossoms falling from the tress was a beautiful memory My Mum and I will keep forever.
AMAZING!
S.
Fabulous place. Beautiful food, outdoor area is just so pretty & great service.
M.
Awesome cheese platter and wines. Their homely outdoor/cottage setup makes you feel as though you could stay all afternoon!
N.
Place - beautiful and has a very good ambiance
Service - Could be more hospitable, not very welcoming approach. On the positive note, we were given a table even without a booking.
Food - good flavours, less than average portions for the price.
Side note: Before we saw the menu, we were asked if we want either sparking or tap water with no advice of the cost for the sparkling water. Thus we chose the sparkling water and we got served the 1L ($9.50) bottle without mentioning that there is a 500ml option, as 1L bottle is too much for us since we were planning to order other drinks as well. We have seen and heard that this was the approach with the other guests as well.
I would suggest cost should be made clear to guests as there will be a lot of tourists coming over, and may not be familiar with this system.
G.
Akarua winery is our favourite.
Gorgeous outdoor seating on a dine day with delicious food and wines to match. Wine tasting with Lucy is superb, not to be missed. Easy stop on your way to or from Arrowtown.
F.
Great food, wonderful setting, and lovely staff. Totally recommend.
A.
I love coming here for a looooong lunch. Some of the best shared food that money can buy. Also came for brunch one day too... and was equally delighted. Highlights: waffles for brunch... lamb for lunch. But ALL is great. Lovely setting and fab service.... and of course tasty wines!
S.
Such a gorgeous location/setting. Food was amazing, fast service, friendly staff..
i.
Hello..we had the most amazing wine tasting here..with the 'hop on hop off bus'...beacause we had a newly engaged couple with us..Akarua picked up the tasting tab..well done & thank you..I was ready to do it on behalf of us 3 + other couple, but the Winery beat us...
Our staff member..( a sommelier in training) was fantastic....the best stop on our tasting trip...she was the best...
M.
Best creative food I've had for along time.
G.
Amazing wine & service, Canada you were great (sorry we were too rude to ask your name) mulled wine was 👌👌 too.
A.
Went with Vicky from Alpine wine tasting tour, lunch was delicious. The young lady hosting the wine tasting was very just lovely very knowledgeable and chatty.
L.
We had the most wonderful family breakfast at Artisan, Jason was an amazing host looking after all 17 of us and all our requests. Thanks so much, we'll be back again, and again!
R.
Best waffles I have ever had, good coffee and beautiful place
k.
Good vibe. Good service. Excellent food and the cocktails were great. Only down side was the metal chairs were cold on my butt but they did have blankets over the backs of most chairs so that sorted that pretty easy. In summer on a nice day it would be the place to go to.
C.
Shared food was good but did not get the order on time as they lost the docket. Nice outdoor dining area
h.
$5 for wine tasting. Lovely staff. Great wine
b.
Four of us went for a sunny afternoon. The Akarua Bannockburn pinot noir was gorgeous and the sharing platter was very appreciated by all of us. Really highly recommended on all counts.
Just as an update, we tried a different winery today and it was fine but it highligjted how fantastic Akarua is🌻🌻🌻
L.
Wow. The brekkie was fantastic. The place is beautiful as well and staff were awesome. Well worth a visit.
D.
Friendly service, amazing food and outstanding wine selection
B.
So glad that we found this gem! The staff were very friendly, and although we did not have a booking she told us to have a tasting and then we could be seated outdoors, which is beautiful. The wines are delicious, and with my meal the rose paired perfectly. Amazing ceviche, balanced well with a good amount of acid, tender pork belly, and fall off the bone duck with a crispy and sweet barley and stone fruit salad. Could not have asked for a better experience, hope to be back one day.
G.
Loved...loved... LOVED this place!! I went here with my parents and my husband. We had lunch and we got the 'shared platters'. It was absolutely mouthwatering meals, BEST lunch we had in long time, highly recommended coming here. We will definitely come back in the future. Amazing service and the staff are so lovely and very welcoming!!! 👌
P.
Once again having an amazing breakfast in this beautifull and cozy place with a charm. Everything is great but the waffles are just amazing (saying not a sweet breakfast fun person). Service is very good too!Nice to see those smiles on the staff faces, breakfast taste even better :)
Just the coffee needs a bit of improvement...
One of our most favorite restaurants!Already looking forward to be back ;)
B.
Wonderful afternoon - great menu and excellent wine. Service was friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend.
S.
Amazing food, beautiful setting, friendly and knowledgeable staff
H.
Amazing food. Had brunch, waffles highly recommended. This play room in an old hut kept the kids busy and entertained while we ate - very relaxing!
M.
Went for lunch with 4 adults and two young children. The service was excellent, it is a beautiful setting especially as it was a lovely sunny day and we sat outside.
There is a huge sandpit with diggers round the back for children.
The food was outstanding. From the duck liver parfait to the seafood linguine and the pizzas - fresh and delicious.
Wine tasting also done on site which we will definitely go back for.
H.
As a group of 9 we had the most amazing afternoon wine tasting with Bindy!! Bindy was absolutely incredibly fun, informative and interactive! Hands down the best wine tasting because of Bindy!
V.
Enjoyed trying the wines and a friendly staff member who gave lovely customer service. We didnt eat here but the place was packed.
T.
Lovely setting, great food and service. Fortunately we'd booked as it got very busy. The wine tasting experience was informative and fun, especially the dessert wine that goes with dark chocolate. An excellent way to spend a lunchtime.
J.
Beautifully combined flavours, fresh ingredients and relaxing environment. Will definitely come again soon.
G.
This is a beautiful place to eat an alfresco lunch. Akarua wines are excellent. Menu is top shelf & priced accordingly. In 2019 it is really popular so be sure to make a booking. Car parking is also limited on busy days.
T.
Came here for the special Marathon Dinner. Everything was great and the waitress suggested the perfect amount of food. We had the pork belly and the beef cheeks which were both tasty and tender. Would recommend the Akarua range rather than the Rua brand.
E.
Had a beautiful family brunch at Akarua Wines, great service and an absolutely serene garden setting. Lovely coffee and delicious food, can't speak to the quality of the wine since I don't drink, but this is a great spot for breakfast or lunch when in Arrowtown or Queenstown.
o.
Absolutely wonderful great wine, great food and great service would definitely recommend to anyone after a wine and dine adventure
R.
The service at the cellar door was awesome. Friendly. Genuine. Laid back. Fun. What a great way to do a tasting of some pretty good wines.
K.
Fantastic food, great portions, and the wine is delish! Highly recommend the Savignon Blanc!
N.
Simply stunning. It is so charming and I just loved the rustic outdoor garden and cute little cottage. The wines are amazing, I loved the riesling. The food was outstanding and so the staff is on the ball and very friendly I even got a hug.
N.
Everything we had during this lunch was perfection. My daughters ham cheese toasted sandwich was a crime because it wasn't on the adults menu. Seriously. Grab a kid and order them this sandwich just so you can have some yourself. Amazing duck, salmon, wine and the best coffee we had during our week in Arrowtown. Perfectly attentive staff and clearly enjoy doing what they do. Would have gone back a few days later if they weren't booked out.
n.
Consistently and reliably excellent food and service in a lovely setting.
R.
Great atmosphere great food great wines. Probably better on a fine day
J.
Very good food and good selection. The wine tasting bar is there as well but a storage operation, which is a little strange (they charge more for the wine bottle at the take than at the bar)
The parking is very limited. Don't go down the adjacent driveway.
Most of the seating is outside so or it is rainy, get there early or late.
H.
Visited for brunch and really enjoyed the food, wine and service. I would have taken images like I normally do but the food looked too good and I was far too hungry. There will definitely be a next time and I will shoot some then 😁
P.
A mixed bag here - my chowder was superb and the wine was sublime but the attitude of staff accommodating our large (prebooked) group was unhelpful bordering on unwelcoming and left a rather sour note. To be fair the staff improved over our lunch but too little too late. I would go back but probably wouldn't be my first choice.
M.
Other than being right on the main road it is a cute and cosy little cellar door and restaurant. The wine tasting was cheap, and the staff were helpful and informative about both their wines and other vineyards in the region. Food looked very good.
S.
Great lunch place. Lovely outdoor area. Salmon was divine and the coffee is good too
A.
Incredible food! And a super chill garden to eat it in.
Every dish was spot on. The beef cheeks were particularly delicious.
L.
I have been living in and travelling around New Zealand for 3 years and this is the best breakfast I have had! I had waffles. Amazing! Will be back!
S.
Wonderful setting Had a great brunch
C.
The food was so fresh and yummy we went back another time, along with wonderful wine.
S.
Beautiful food but took 40 minutes from ordering to get our drinks then another 20 mins for food. Need more heaters as later lunches it gets very cold in the winter.
A.
Love their wine. Took my Mum there for a tasting. Beautiful surroundings excellent service.
D.
We had halloumi and pork belly as entrees, both were delicious. For mains we had the salmon, beef cheek and ribs, luckily we went in hungry, it was a great meal, definitely worth going. Superb superb superb
M.
Some of the nicest food I have eaten with excellent wine at a fair price. Staff were excellent
S.
Service started off really good then we were just ignored for the remainder of the meal, no drink top ups or anything. Food was ok but not the best.
C.
Fabulous spot with delicious food and wine and wonderful friendly, professional service. Thoroughly recommend this and can’t wait to return.
P.
We grab lunch on Saturdays a few times thru the year. Beautiful setting outside in warmer weather.... lovely and warming in winter inside..... A special location... food is good but I would not call it top notch... 8 from 10 for me...
p.
Very posh. Food and service great
P.
Lovely breakfast, but pricey, the toilets access needs to be sorted. Bad news if it was raining and there others waiting.
P.
We had a variety of dishes with lettuce being the biggest ingredient on the dish plate. Guess to fill it out to hide the lack of main ingredient. If this is the norm I would not recommend based on the price. The ambience is great eating alfresco.
S.
Amazing wine, amazing food and secretly very kid friendly! More people need to know about the playroom full of toys and books and the huge fenced sandpit out the back!
A.
Booked a table for 9:45 for breakfast which was very nice, ina lovely setting. Experience was let down by lazy staff who couldn't be bothered to wipe down tables and chairs after overnight rain.
R.
Gorgeous wine with great food. What's not to like. Salmon cooked to perfection. Chilled vibe and lovely staff. Perfect final lunch of holiday.
H.
Great wine, great setting, great service. Can never fault this picture perfect place.
O.
The staff is extremely attentive and food is mind-blowing!
M.
Cosy atmosphere, excellent food and good service. I ordered beef cheek. Unfortunately there was no chicken option for my husband who does not eat red meat. The duck option was a sharing option.
C.
Wonderful cellar door that offers personalised service, stepping you through the wines and having fun at the same time. Highly recommend the sparkling. The cafe is intimate and warm, serving classic cafe food with a local flair. Well worth a stop on your way to or from Arrowtown or a 5 minute diversion from other destinations.
B.
The food, wine & hospitality is second to none, definitely a big favourite of mine.
J.
Beautiful. The service and the food were both outstanding.
C.
Fantastic food and staff. Beautiful outdoor atmosphere for lunch.
H.
Visited for brunch and really enjoyed the food, wine and service. I would have taken images like I normally do but the food looked too good and I was far too hungry. There will definitely be a next time and I will shoot some then 😁

E.
Delish breakfast and a lovely location.
B.
So glad that we found this gem! The staff were very friendly, and although we did not have a booking she told us to have a tasting and then we could be seated outdoors, which is beautiful. The wines are delicious, and with my meal the rose …

P.
Wonderful food pleasant service
J.
Amazing food, staff, wine & atmosphere. Highly recommend!
S.
Service was good, some of the food wasn’t the best/freshest, ie avocado (very very brown, shouldn’t have been served) and the garnishes for the bloody Mary’s not fresh either. But enjoyed nonetheless
S.
Best dining experience in Queenstown!!! Highly recommend this place. Definitely try the Seafood chowder and the Lamb. Wines were amazing too.
S.
