A great experience here with a gorgeous view of the mountains and seas. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather and fresh air. The food was good so was the atmosphere of the restaurant. Inca, our waitress, is a real asset of the restaurant. She was really friendly and accommodating, making us feel very welcomed.

A fantastic experience for both breakfast and dinner. Even with the limited menu on offer, there was still plenty to choose from and to enjoy. The staff were absolutely fabulous, they were engaging, entertaining and truly made our experience feel unique. What is a holiday without a cheeky breakfast mimosa?

Loved the view! Staff are lovely , I was asked what level of spice for my Bloody Mary, asked for 7 /10 and it was perfect, with fresh squeezed tomato juice and trimmings. Minute steak, bernaise sauce, fried egg and potato was perfect..forgot to take photo at start, it was so good !! Great way to start the day!!

Stayed at the lake view one bed room for my birthday. One of the most iconic and prestigious hotel in Queenstown. The room was amazing with full view of lake Wakatipu. Pre dinner drinks were included upon arrival. Breakfast were also included the next day. Had such a great time in the hotel.

Fantastic view as we went early and managed to get a window table. Fries are thin and really tasty. Recommend the grilled octopus but my partners steak was a 7/10. Our waitress was really nice, but the Maître d when we first arrived was a little arrogant for a empty restaurant.

Had breakfast here, thoroughly impressed with service and location. Location is exceptional if you want view of the lake without being outside. The French Toast and Fruit was really yummy and the coffee brewed perfectly. Would recommend.

Oh, such an amazing dinner for our New Years Eve celebration. The food is delicious. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my weird detailed questions. Had a little flashback to my childhood as the merengue dessert was of the exact same taste as my amazing grandma used to make each new years Eve ( Russian dessert) . Very happy. Best place to watch fireworks too so highly recommend it .

An excellent dining experience at The Grille on a Friday night. I recommend booking as it is a popular restaurant and for good reason! Their seafood chowder is We sat down on one of the sofa seat and were greeted by a bubbly waitress with an American accent. she was friendly, witty and just the right amount of attentiveness. The food was also terrific starting with a creamy seafood chowder packed with flavour, then my wife had the smoked monk fish while I had the scotch with a peppercorn sauce and a side of charred broccolini. The fish and scotch were cooked to perfection and mash was velvety tied together with a delicious sauce. We were rather full by then so we opted to share a hot chocolate with bailey, and it was so good and a great way to finish the meal. Great food, top service and a view to die for, what more can you ask for.

Best steakhouse in Queenstown. Aged stripe beef steak, seafood chowder with wakame (seaweed) and scallops were my favorites. Friendly staff too.

Good food, great service, but a double door would definitely come In handy.... each time someone came in I froze. One other thing that caught my attention was that they serve both beer and wine directly in the glass, they don’t serve it at the table from the bottle so that you can see the bottle, etc. For me that is a must in any restaurant, specially where you pay over 70euros per person for dinner.

Great view right in front of the lake, plenty of parking around. The food was fantastic especially the seafood chowder. What really stood out to me were the staff. A good place to start your visit to Queenstown as this restaurant is located right in the city with a best view of the Wakatipu lakefront. They served high quality grilled meats, and you must try the lamp & beef!

I've read some dodgy reviews about customer service but my experience was outstanding. Of course we went to have a late lunch at 2:00 and it was very quiet. Still, the wagyu burger was outstanding with lots of little extras you won't get many other places. Homemade tomato sauce and mayonnaise, and smokey harvati really brought my meal home. Delicious.

Well located, stunning views. I arrived after 4pm, when they are usually close. But I could come in, and it was great. I asked a steak medium cooked and come brown. Payed for the place, not for the food. Maybe I can came back and be more specific, telling medium has to have a little red in the middle. 😊

The Grille has one of the best views from Queenstown looking out over the harbour onto the mountains. The food here is excellent. We tried the duck for entree, we both had a steak which is a must at a place called "The Grille" and it was cooked to perfection. We finished with the taurine for desert which was just delightful. The grille is a 5 star dining venue, but i can only award 4 becuase of the service. Our waiters were excellent but their was some delays and miscommunications in getting our meals brought out and our drink orders going in. The ambiance is light and relaxed and makes it great for a quiet date or a group of friends celebrating another great day on the slopes.

Stunning food and cocktails. The calamari squid ink tempura is not to be missed. This would have been a 5 star review apart from the request for a tip on the bill. NZ is not a tipping culture, instead employees are paid and treated properly by their employers. Please let's not seen our culture eroded by unsavory foriegn practices.

The staff serving our table was an injustice to the wonderful food and setting. The experience could have been so much better if the service staff were a bit more courteous.

We came here for lunch- we were greeted by lovely staff and had shrimp cocktail, lobster vol au vent and a salad- incredible! Everything was so well balanced and flavourful, even the nicoise salad was one of the best one i’ve had (the last one i had was in france, stakes were high!). Breakfast with a view! If you can, book ahead to try and get a seat right at the window overlooking lake Wakatipu. Coffee was very strong so order a half strength if you prefer a weaker coffee. We had the bacon and poached eggs, and the spicy chorizo eggs. The bacon and poached eggs were a classic done well, however the spicy chorizo was a little underwhelming and the potato hash wasn’t crispy as described.

Came here for dinner for our Shockshop conference. Brought my family with 2 young kids. The staff were exceptional, welcomed and entertained our kids so we could have a good time. The food was excellent. If there was such thing as more than 5 Stars we would rate it as that.

Didn't live up to expectations. Following dinning at six other top Queenstown venues this week. The 3 scallops for a starter were very tasty. Despite ordering a vegtable main to accompany our steak and potatoes. We ended up with no green vegetables that were sorely missed. Yes the tempura battered spaghetti squash was yummy but adding this to buttercup and another type of potatoe was rather limited. Too many carbs for me. The Eye fillet was better than the Scotch but the Pinot jus was too strong and killed the meal if poored all over the steak as I did then regretted. Bread starter we would have loved a drizzle of balsamic in the olive oil and garlic in the rock hard butter or even a small portion of minced sun-dried tomatoes to make the starter top knotch.

Brilliant ambiegnce, stunning view of the lake, amazing food. A groyup of 16 people arrived at 8pm. We were greeted with great banter and smiles. Only 2 negatives, 1 person in our group didn't get their order until almost at the end of all the other mains had been eaten and they ran out of greens! Have always wanted to come dine here, with its dining views, it is a classy establishment. Will definitely come again.

We've been talking about going back to the Grille for ages and it didn't disappoint. The food, service and drinks were all superb. I'd say the view from the restaurant across the lake is the best restaurant view in queenstown hands down. We look forward to our next visit.

I was excited to finally get to eat here after having heard pretty mixed reviews. Locations can’t be beat with sweeping views of the lake and mountains. Grab a window seat for epic people watching. Service can’t be faulted, though we ate early before the crowds. Salmon and duck starters were very small but beautifully presented and full of flavour. My main of the pork belly was 5/5 and a very generous portion (no need for sides though they’ll try to up sell you.). Wife had the pansisse which sounded lovely on the menu but was way over seasoned and very filling. 2/5. Rounded up to 4/5 for the great service and location. Would definitely return.

I think this place or the Grille at least has not been open for long and that might explain some of the bad reviews as our experience was a lot better. Walked in and seated immediately by a great front of house, waiter was excellent and had drinks to us within a few mins. Food was amazing, we had steak! And dessert even better. Service was quick and good. The restaurant is very big with plenty of tables and room. The front of the restaurant is all glass so you have incredible views of the lake. All in all the place had a nice modern feel to it, good friendly service and tasty food.

Food is a big let down when the views are incredible, ambiance and staff are lovely and wine list is great. Sadly oysters are not freshly schucked. Dry and hard and very disappointing... They really let down NZ's amazing oyster growers. After my oyster experience I checked with waiter re Steak Tartare, sadly it is also pre prepared. When I decided to order a Wagyu Burger, I asked for medium rare, but was told "no, only well done for food safety reasons". I think this is a lie to disguise the fact all burgers are precooked and only reheated before serving as it makes no sense to have a raw steak tartare pre chopped and not be allowed to serve a fresh burger medium rare. The other food may have been good, but I gave up at that point. If you want freshly prepared food, this really doesn't cut it, sad considering price point and location and other reviews.

I would love to give this 5 stars and I would have for a previous visit. On my first visit I sent private constructive feed back that wasn't acknowledged. This time we came for a quick lunch though this took an hour for mains and then the chowder was too hot to eat or enjoy and hence had to leave this to get to the airport with a parking ticket in hand. So many things are amazing here. It was a shame.

I was hesitant to try this place after the reviews but overall it was very good. We had a table booked for 7:45 but had to wait for a bit because the couple sitting at the table was not finished yet. We did not mind as we got some drinks at the bar which over looked the kitchen where the chefs talked to us and we got interested in everything they were making. Food was pretty good- steak was amazing, and deserts were very delicious. For entree we had these Parmasan churros which were so unique and delicious. The real stand out was the service. There is a gentleman (I forgot his name) with a beard and long hair, from Idaho in the US who works at this restaurant. He apologised to us for our table being late, kept us up to date with when it was being ready, and even offered another one away from the table if we wanted sooner. He chatted with us during and after our meal and made the experience very pleasant. He is fantastic at his job and fantastic at customer service. Because of you we will come back. Thank you so much for your unique and wonderful service!

The absolute best steak tartar in all of Queenstown! My family and I came to this restaurant twice in the span of 2 days because all the food was delicious. The steak, especially the ribeye, were all cooked very well and all tasted amazing. All the staff are friendly and affable and always makes you feel welcome. The Grille sits in a fantastic location lake side. A large room with both space for larger and smaller groups, the setting with its large glass frontage focuses on what is most amazing about Queenstown and makes you feel like you are still a part of everything going on outside and around you, even though you are cosied away inside drinking and eating all that your heart desires. We have always had the most delicious meals here- I can rave extensively about the steak options, the burgers are bloody brilliant if you don’t want to spend the money that is asked of the steak (but spend the money on the steak they are unreal!!) The flavours and textures of the food are top class and if you don’t go for anything else, you HAVE to go for the ‘dessert for two’ platter which is the most amazing, perfect TASTER of all things sweet that they do so so so so SO well. I promise a visit to The Grille will never be regretted.

The meals, and service were excellent. The checkout experience was not so good. I suggested to a learner that I could use my TSB cash-flow card instead of the Visa card I had. This would (like a debit card - savings,) would save on the credit card surcharge for them. This was lost on the learner, (maybe it's acrually not the case in NZ) so when transferred to another staff member, I gave up & I used a Visa Card and this was questioned as well (TSB Visa) He suggested it was the UK TSB and asked what account? Might have been better to just pay by cash perhaps like the old days........ They were under pressure to work, although the place was not full-I guess a symptom of the times?????

Fantasic place for dinner with breathtaking views and amazing staff. The seafood chowder is an absolute must. After discovering The Grille in february of this year, my now wife and I decided to have our wedding reception here. We could not have chosen a more perfect place in Queenstown. The professionalism and attention to detail I believe, puts The Grille and the whole Eichardts brand above an ever increasing market. We cant thank Adam and Catherine enough for making our day flawless. I can not wait to get back again for our next visit.
