Amazing staff, great food and cozy vibe! Went for an early dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The gnochi alfredo was the highlight of the meal, the sauce was so flavourful and creamy, couldn’t fault it. Pizza was also great.

Went to Farelli's Trattoria for dinner tonight. Opened with a garlic bread, mains ordered were a Diavolo pizza and a prosciutto pizza and for dessert I for a chocolate mouse and sorbet thing. I had the Diavolo, which was amazing, great balance of flavors, enough heat and the perfect amount of cheese. Partner gave good reviews of the prosciutto as well. Dessert was so good, packed with rich chocolate and berry flavors. Would 100%return next time we're in Queenstown.

Update 11/01: Moved to 5 stars - it just gets better, with great vegan dishes! Prev. update: 4 stars as I always hold out the hope that Farelli's can improve - not sure how as it is amazing! We visit every time we are in Queenstown it never disappoints! Best Italian in town, friendly staff and is vegan friendly!! No matter your dietary requirements you'll find a meal for you. Highly recommend.

Just came here for our anniversary dinner and had an amazing meal. We had the roast pork gnocchi, beef ragu and the prosciutto pizza. The gnocchi in particular was one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The beef ragu was as delicious and the pizza was tasty, with the crust acting as the perfect thing to soak up the left over sauce. Service was also great with friendly staff and they booked us in last minute. Will definitely be back next time we visit! No pictures as we were too hungry and just got stuck in...

Absolutely great experience. Staff were so lovley even gave me another glass of wine when I accidentally spilled mine. Pizzas were so fresh and delicious, would recommend to anyone who loves authentic Italian food.

Love this place. Took my son here last week for a pizza. Headed back later in the week to try the pasta. Definitely family friendly but also plenty of couples in plus a big table who were having a good time. The place was busy with a good vibe and the staff were very welcoming, relaxed and attentive. Great food with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options (they have a separate vegan/vegetarian menu). Highlight was the eggplant parmigiana - super delicious! My ten year old son loved the pappardelle and pizza, and the vegan chocolate semifreddo was a huge hit. Thanks for a great experience Farelli’s, see you next time we’re in Queenstown!

The food here is always absolutely amazing. The vegan menu has multiple options which are all reasonably priced. The vegan pizza and pasta has vegan cheese and chorizo which is such a treat that it is offered. The service is spectacular and the wine list even has vegan options listed. It’s very rare that a vegan dessert is offered that isn’t just sorbet so the vegan chocolate panna cotta at Farelli’s is a real treat and it is delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone dining in Queenstown, especially vegans.

It took me by surprise that during low seasons reservations were essentials in Queenstown. We chanced upon this place by accident. No regrets! Food was gooood. Pizza was thin crusted and so tasty. The clams...yum. The pastas were great too. Tiramisu...yum yum. Generous portions.

Rustic looking food that was extremely tasty. The garlic bread is a meal in itself, better shared I think. Nice location in the atrium on the wharf. Worth popping in if you like unfussy authentic Italian fare.

Went about 1 week ago on holiday and the food was amazing! They have many vegan options for mains and entrees, 2 of which I tried. I had the Fettucine Alfredo and the Zucca Pizza. Both dishes full of so much flavour and very delicious. I highly recommend this place and when back in NZ, I will definitely be coming back!

Felt like eating Italian and this trattoria came up pretty high in reviews so I thought it was worth a try. The gnocchi carbonara is not your traditional recipe but this trattoria serves up a modern twist on this classic. Firstly the gnocchi is handmade, you can tell by the irregular rustic shapes. It is served with mushrooms, crispy bacon (and lots of it!), spinach, cream and a touch of pesto. It is a very rich pasta and the portion size is just right. My only slight feedback was that I found the gnocchi themselves a little ‘gluey’ and perhaps undercooked? My other half ordered the spaghetti pomodorro with sausage which had classic Italian tomato flavours. It perhaps needed a touch more Parmesan cheese which the staff were happy to bring a small bowl of cheese to add to the pasta. Ordered a glass of house white Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough to accompany my meal. Overall a decent Italian restaurant in Queenstown.

I love my steak and I have tried many steak houses around the world this would have to be one of the best. I ordered the ribeye medium rare and my partner ordered the lamb the food exceeded my expectations I wanted to put another order in so I could take a steak with me lol. Will now fly back to Melbourne and plan my next trip back to Queenstown so we can dine here again.BIG SHOUT out to the Chefs great work keep it up oh and the potato thing that you do that looks like a small loaf of bread was so good.

Great spot for lunch. We showed with the whole tribe, no booking. Six adults and six kids. The staff didn't bat an eyelid. Didn't give us even the smallest hint that we were putting them to trouble. They just combined three tables and seated us. Smiling, the whole time. Kids menu was spot-on. All our kids are happily, and if you've ever eaten anywhere with six kids, you that doesn't happen everywhere. Staff were great with the children. Service is polite and quick. Servers have good knowledge of the menu and wine list. Food is excellent. My family are picky about Italian food. Both my father and I commented that they must have cooked the pasta with a stopwatch, because it was perfect to the second. Wines were great. They even had a Valpolicella, which is my favourite to drink with pasta (red sauce), and I was delighted to find they had bottles of it there, for me. Prices very reasonable for the quality of the food. If it wasn't great food, you might think it a little high, but we were very happy to pay the bill. All-round good experience.

I really wanted to love this place. As a vegetarian, I fully support places that offer seperate vegan/vege meals, so I was really looking forward to this restaurant. Sadly, this place does not deliver. The vegan salami pizza was disgusting. I've had better mock meat from the frozen section of the supermarket. The 4 cheese calzone had very minimal cheese and was basically filled with tomato. When we asked if we had been given a wrong calzone by mistake, the waitress just shrugged. The bruschetta was some weird dip concoction on bread. Giving 3 stars because the meat eaters in our group were happy with their meals and also the tiramisu was decent. But overall, very disappointed, especially as the meals are quite pricey.

The food and flavors are amazing and definitely taste more "upper class" and "5 star" then a meal for 45-60 dollars and it's their well priced!! The staff are so lovely and friendly and I'm so sorry I didn't give a tip, if I had known a head of time I would have tipped you since the food and service was that good!!. Love this authentic Italian restaurant. We always come here when we visit Queenstown and it never disappoints. The only down side is that we have never managed to fit in a Tiramisu, because we over eat on the delicious pasta dishes. Will try on our next visit. Farelli's has changed quite a bit from our last visit 3years ago, but somehow even on the craziness of Saturday night, they were welcoming, the atmosphere was buzzing, food and drink came quickly and was delicious. Cramped old for being in Central city, 2 out 3 staff friendly inviting and happy to be at work the other may be by nature not very engaging had the same monotone 9-6 job body language. Food was below average pizza too oily damn salty and chicken bolognaise really tarty with more pasta and tomato puree seemed like straight out of a tin can. Disappointing for $68 advertised as Italian food. Should have ordered from dominoes or pizza hut.

Probably the best meal we’ve had in our week-long stay in Queenstown. The vegans in our group appreciated the full vegan menu and ordered the vegan pasta bolognaise. Food was good, service not so much. Given the choice of 2 tables right next to the bathroom, didn't start well. Then given soiled tableware. Ordered 2 beers an Male server assumed the bottled dark beer was for my husband and I had to flag another server to get a glass. Food tastes good, so I didn't rate lower.

One of the best meals I've ever had. The clams starter was wonderfully full of flavor. Order the bread to soak up the sauce, but be sure to use the olive oil/balsamic mixture they bring as well. My steak was cooked perfectly and had brilliant accompanying flavors. Wonderful experience.

5 stars is not enough, even 10 stars would not be fair to the best pizza in New Zealand! The only place around here that I can for sure say "OK THIS IS PIZZA". If you really want eat well for a fair price don't spend your time at The Cow, cause Farelli's food and staff are the best around.

Three of us shared a pancetta pizza, two lots of the spaghetti with clams, garlic bread and arancini. The garlic bread was the star, huge portion and super tasty, pizza and arancini were also great.
