P.Absolutely the most amazing dining experience I had in Queenstown. We were there for our anniversary they gave us a card and two glasses of champagne to go with our oysters. We ordered mostly seafood dishes and it was delicious. My favourite was the seafood pasta. It is a must try! The service was 6 stars. They made us felt very special.
V. F.Great location and great seafood. Love their tempura soft shell crab and their sashimi is so fresh. The lady that tend to our table are very attentive. Pleasant dining experience. Also recommended to book in advance as they are very popular and always full especially during holiday period. Otherwise go earlier.
R. F.My wife booked this place after seeing the good reviews. Well, this place really deserved the high ratings based on what we ordered that night.
We decided to order both platters (land and seafood) as thinking we might be hungry. We started off with the seafood platter which my wife really enjoyed the freshness of the oysters. The salmon and tuna were amazing too. When the lamb shoulder arrived, we were surprised the size of it! But because the taste was sumptuous enough which allowed me to finish it eventually. The fenels and carrots tasted great too.
Overall, this place is highly recommended if you really want to enjoy a fine dining experience 👌👍

The food was excellent. I had the salmon which was beautifully presented and tasted delicious.
My wife had the seared tuna and said it was amazing.
We would definitely come back.
p.It was my first time dinning in FINZ and I have to say its been a really good experience. Firstly friendly and attentive staff they understand the quality of the service. They have been sensitive enough to make you feel comfortable and able to maintain enough distance to enjoy yourself. The food was good, straight to the point jam packed with flavour and freshness attention to detail is excellent. The place itself boast a very stunning view of the sunset over the mountain side. Id give FINZ 14/15. Its a must whenever you are in Queenstown. Definitely will be coming back.
S. T.Dinner was amazing, the food was everything and more, but not only that the staff that looked after us Dani made our dinning experience the most enjoyable. The winner of the evening would have to be Oyster & Chocolate mousse.

T. G. (.Sometimes a place really surprises you and Finz did just that. Located at Steamer Wharf with lots of other touristy restaurants, I expected it to be a bit average but it was so much better than that.
First thing that wowed us was our server Siobhan, she was super welcoming and very informative about the menu. She was great from the moment we arrived til when we left.
Secondly our food was great! One of the starters, the pancetta wrapped scallops on pork belly was amazing! And the prawn, clam and baby octopus spaghetti was packed full of seafood and tasted really delicious. Loved it! The battered blue cod fish and chips was another winning dish.
This restaurant has a good selection of dishes and a very decent wine list as well. We will definitely be back.
C.The fish and chips are the best I've had. So fresh and crispy. The lamb is so good too. They welcomed us in, sat us down and provided an amazing service despite closing at 230 when we arrived at 215 after a hike. I don't write reviews but this place is too good not to!

The service and food tonight went above and beyond than anything we could have imagined. Siobhan was our waitress tonight, she was very down to earth, gave excellent recommendations and made the entire night an absolute amazing experience for our whole entire family. At the very end of the night with Siobhan singing happy birthday to dad involving the whole restaurant was a very special touch. If you are visiting Queenstown Finz Restaurant will not disappoint :)

Let me start by saying our waitress Jess was easily the most charismatic person I have been served by in my life, her menu insight and suggestion were greatly appreciated and lead to one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food was fantastic and whoever was cooking didn't miss a beat this evening, everything tasted fresh and delicious. We demolished the platter (Jess's recommendation) which was a perfect size for two, full of fresh, vibrant and delicious flavour, also the pancetta wrapped scallops which were to die for. The soft shell crab was so sweet and delicious and such a generous portion of blue cod I couldn't believe it. After we finished this platter we thought we had to finish with dessert even though we were full because we knew it would be fantastic. Thank you so much to Jess and the team at Finz, I will be back for more.

R.What an amazing experience, from the moment Siabhan our host for the evening welcomed us and sat us at one of the best tables in town, the view was breathtaking.
We were made to feel so welcome there, the service was simply fantastic.
As you can see, we had steak, oysters and sashimi.
The food was beautifully cooked, my steak was perfect.
The food was uncomplicated and clean in a way that you really got taste the food.
Even the homemade very large fries were wonderful.
As for the oysters and sashimi, my wife has not stopped talking about them, the oysters were delicious and the sashimi was incredible and was made by the freshness and quality of the cuts they use.
We loved the place from start to finish and will be going back again when we are back down and would highly recommend to anyone to make it a place to eat in Queenstown.

We ordered the Seafood platter and bacon wrapped scallops. Seafood platter, Half lobster and deserts. The lobster and pana cotta were my favorite. Over all good food was a little pricey.
Z.Had dinner here with the wife and kids. Wait staff were amazing, super friendly and made us feel very welcome. We had the Pancetta Wrapped Scallops and Pork Belly and Seafood Platter, and the kids enjoyed their kids meal of Sushi and Bolognaise.
I liked how they laid out the table with a paper cover, the kids had a lot of fun drawing while waiting for their food.

I.Excellent food, we had the seafood platter for two people, it was so fresh and delicious, we loved it. The location was fantastic. My partner was celebrating her 40s birthday and Finz prepared a surprise mini birthday cake and sang happy birthday to her. We booked for 8:15pm but we were so hungry that arrived at 6:30pm and asked if we could eat earlier and they very friendly accommodated us without any issues. Thank you so much Finz, we will be back.

So happy with my friends choice for dinner tonight. Recently I moved here so I will definitely return. There is a good variety of seafood and food from the land. Tuna was delicious and there is more I would like to try. Danni our waitress gave us service with a smile (I can still tell even with a mask. A lovely girl. Overall nice location (by steamer ship) a good combo of great food and friendly service ensures returning customers.

I'm not much of a seafood guy but the clams, tarbot and prawns are to die for. We saw other meals being delivered to others, and everything looks delicious and fresh.
Siobhan was our waitress and she was by far one of the best I've had. Always making sure we were happy, checking if we needed anything and above all else - great banter.

M.We went at a family of five in our last night in Queenstown. The food and service were great. Only downside was that we were brought bottled water, not offered the option of tap water, then charged $10 a bottle (without being advised of this in advance). It was a hot evening, no air con in the restaurant, so we went through four bottles of water. $40 was a bit steep. Total bill came to $325, with minimal alcohol (one beer and one glass of wine). Not a cheap night, but very tasty

We were extremely happy with our meals and the service from Soibham who was very pleasant, cheerful and chatty. J.FINZ is amazing we ordered two platters, thinking it won't be enough. Everything on the platter had a unique flavor. So filling and the customer service from Martin, and Brad were so welcoming. I'm coming back and would highly recommend Finz.

The lamb was too die for. Cooked to perfection.

We've been dining here whenever we come to Queenstown and this time over 2 visits in 3 days we had the Seafood Platter for 2 (it was divine), garlic and pepper squid, sole fish, clam and prawn spaghetti and choc mousse, and they were all excellent.

E.We came as a first table and were absloutley spoilt by the care and attentiveness of the staff. I find generally with a first table the staff seem to not put in as much effort, but Siobhan went the extra mile to make sure we were having a fab time. She had a cracking sense of humour and made sure we were well boozed. She definitely deserves a bottle of wine ;) the blonde runner was also lovley and highly attentive.

Not only was the seafood so fresh you could taste the salt water, the service was the best we experienced in Queenstown.
I want to thank the waiter who hinted I take my wife up to lake Alta... it made our stay magical and you can’t pay or plan for that.

C.Great staff and service. Was busy when we were there but staff kept us informed on the progress in the kitchen. Whilst the dinner for a couple was a bit too cool and sent back to the kitchen, they were extremely apologetic and graciously gave us drinks and complementary desserts. Everyone can make a mistake but full marks to them for their response for which we were very grateful. Deserves their excellent reputation.

V.There are a few really nice seafood restaurants in Queenstown with premium quality food therefore service standard is the key to differentiate the greatest from the rest. Kirsty was appointed to our table and her knowledge about every dish even down to where every ingredient came from, her knowledge was exceptional. P.Came to Finz Seafood and Grill for my first anniversary. The waitstaff were amazing and personable and gave us a complimentary glass of bubbles. We had garlic prawns and salt and pepper squid to start and it was to DIE for. Both of us had the fish and chips as mains and it was sooooo tasty and big enough that we couldn’t finish the dish and had to eat it the next day (it still tasted amazing then). All in all, couldn’t have asked for a better experience and it is well worth the price.

A.The team at Finz have the best dining experience out and the food is to die for. We ordered two seafood platters for four people and the quality was outstanding- could not have been fresher. The staff were all amazing and very helpful. While we had the bonus of a reduced bill thanks to bookme the meal was worth every penny of the full price. Next time we are in town we will be back for sure. Just be aware that if you are driving you will need to leave early to find parking as it’s few and far between in town.

Comes in "two courses" or "two platters" in a way. The first is a sashimi plate with various raw fish, oysters and scallops and the second platter comes with the amazing cooked prawns, fish of the day etc.

The food was divine, and the service was excellent (refreshing sometimes for Queenstown). We genuinely loved our evening last night. T.Got the seafood platter, the first part comes as a entree and the second part comes as a main course. It is on the pricier side but was totally worth it, very delicious and just so beautiful to look at. It doesn't come with sides though, so if you want sides, make sure you get some separately to go with it (we got a side of vegetables and white rice - which were both yummy and full of flavour) The service was exceptional, will definitely be visiting FINZ again when we go back to Queenstown!

We came to Finz for my uncles birthday while in queenstown for new years and was not disappointed. Our table had the crayfish, ribs, chowder, fish n chips, cob loaf and some dumplings. The dumplings were i little chewy but still tasty! Everything else was just delicious!

I love my tuna loin with wasabi in the sauce, great presentation and taste. The seared sole is a whole fish with head and bones , but my husband did not complain anything.my son finished all the salmon sushi but my daughter had only half crumbled chicken, as the chicken was a bit dry.

M.I stopped in with a small group unexpectedly one evening having been encouraged by a nearby shop owner because of the excellent reputation of this place. The space inside is comfortable and airy and the waitstaff was happy to put us at a window table even though it was reserved for a little later in the night. The menu is a little limited and I wish there were more seafood offerings, but the turbot I had was pretty good. Others in the group had the fish and chips and were pleased. It's a little expensive, but the fare is solid and worth a look. Overall a good experience.

We changed a couple of the options on the menu for GF and there was no issue. Our Waiter Connor was a delight!! it helped that Wales had just won the Rugby!! Really enjoyed the food and wine. A.It was a lovely experience entrees were great and the beef sirloin was perfect but a real shame that for $75 for only half a smallish crayfish it was unfortunately over cooked and was more like eating mashed potato. The staff were great and a nice atmosphere.

T.Finz has a great spot on the water and as the name suggests the seafood on offer is varied and beautiful. We were lucky enough to be there on the first night the bluff oysters came out.... yuuuumm. The waiter was fabulous. Funny and engaging and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. It’s helped the Welsh had just won at rubgy!! Haha ...the food and ambience was excellent. K.Dropped in earlier this evening as they were doing a special offer on fish & chips for ‘early eaters’. To say that I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement: the staff were very friendly and helpful, the service was faultless, the fish & chips was a good-sized serving and perfectly cooked, and a free glass of a most tolerable wine was included (although this may have been down to the time I was eating?). And it was matched by a wonderful view across the lake to the snow-capped mountains opposite.
Needlessly to say it is 10/10 plus a gold star for Finz! Thank you, folks.

H.The restaurant is on the water front and does offer both outside seating and a view of the lake and mountains. I went at night and sat inside. Ordered oysters on the half shell and the turbot. After a half hour, nothing came, and I asked the waitress to check on my order. Next thing you know, the manager delivered the turbot. A bit surprised, I asked what happened to the oysters. The answer was that they "thought they had delivered it." When I said I had hoped to eat the oysters first, the manager offered to take the turbot back and remake it later. I declined. The oysters did come later, and the manager took it off the bill, which was a nice gesture. What baffled me was the waitress coming back at the end as if none of this had happened, when it seemed to be her neglect (during the half hour that I waited for the food she passed by numerous times, including delivering food to tables that arrived after I had ordered). The food was good, and the manager did apologize and adjust the bill.
A.The service is always amazing, food also. We had crayfish and the spaghetti.. YUM! The sushimi platter is fab too and the steak.
B.My cousin and I had an wonderful time catching up whike eating some amazing food. We shared the Seafood Chowder, Finz Cob Loaf, and Lamb Shank. Great combination for sure. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the Chowder hit the spot too. We both left the restaurant feeling content and full. We had a lovely waitress named Denise. Easy going, and well attentive to our table. I would definitely go again.

Service and ambience is great especially as restaurant is right beside the lake. Food comes a little disapppointing given the price. It is clear that the chef is not too confident if his salmon is medium well done and hence pricked the salmon before serving to check, yet still burning the skin and only managed to get the salmon to medium. Beer battered oysters are fresh and good for today's visit. Clams in the spaghetti unfortunately contains some amounts of sand. Overall taste is still acceptable and score is greatly helped by the good service and ambience. Price will have a negative effect on the overall value.

R.Nice ambiance and view of Earnshaw steamer I had the tuna,it was excellent my wife had the sole and although very nice not quite value for money ie quite small to what we can get maybe they should use flounder instead rather larger fish,thought they may have bluff oysters but alias only pacific sorry guys don't come this far south to have those
L.Really good place to go if you love fish! Small restaurant located directly on the lake with nice views and helpful staff. We had a great dining experience at Finz and would love to come back. Food is delicious, just a little bit more flavour on the salmon would be great.

M.Go for the Green Lipped mussels in fresh cream. Enough for a meal. Fantastic. Equally good, the Sole or the Belly Pork. My brother and sister in law left their plates clean too. Recommended.
T.Dunno what John Cassidy was on about below but the mussels were great, beef ribs superb tender and fall off the bone, and salmon straight from the sea. And that truffle mash was amazing. The kiwi cocktail worth every bit of my hard earn $18
