Authentic Korean food, the Army stew is so delicious, a must try. The sizzling hot plate Spicy Stir-Fried Chicken is a bit salty. Just disappointed to know side dishes cost extra $1.50 per one small dish, knowing the prices are quite high for. However, service is good and quick.

Best Korean chicken I've had 10/10. After tasting the chicken in Seoul i went on the hunt when we returned to Gold Coast to find the best chicken and couldn't. Came to qtown for a holiday and finally found amazing chicken Like the chicken we tasted in Sth Korea.And the service was amazing.

I think this place has the best Korean I've had in New Zealand and I've lived in Korea before. Their tofu soup with seafood is so flavorful. When you ask for very spicy here, they do not disappoint! Their tteokbokki and spicy chicken stew are also really delicious. Great food and a very friendly owner. Will come every time we are in Queenstown.

Highly recommended! Honey soy chicken best ever, we doubled up on our order. Also recommend the Beef Bulgoki, pure flavour and off the chain fresh. If you are on QTown, hit these guys up. Super friendly owner and staff!

Had the kimchi pork stew soup and the spicy seafood tofu soup. Both the soup was excellent and very well cooked. Only thing I have to add is that the choices of sidedishes were a bit lacking. The kimchi was good and the brocolli is ok. The potato was a bit weird to what it normally should taste like. I think if they add like the fishcake and the marinated braised black beans then it will be perfect. Price is not bad here.

Best Korean in Queenstown! We ordered the large Boneless Fried Chicken Original flavour, Japchae ( potato noodles with beef and mushroom) and tteok bokki (Spicy Rice cakes with sliced fish cakes ). All three dishes were spot on! The chicken was crispy and not oily. Really hit the spot with a cold beer. The Japchae was very tasty and chewy. Tteok bokki was the right spiciness (5-6/10 hot sauce level) and sweet. Rice cakes are very chewy, so not recommended for everyone. Help yourself to the water. Four side dishes of various kimchi given. Not a fan of the kimchi. I plan to come here very often as it's delicious and very good value, something not often found in Queenstown!

This was my first time eating Korean food! And I have to say it was Amazing! Every dish we had was on point! The noodles were some of the best I’ve ever had and I’ve travelled all across Asia and lived there for almost a year. Service was super friendly and attentive, loved the free condiments - I will definitely be back and 100% recommend!

Amazing Stuff! This place has one of the most generous portions of food served at its price point in Queenstown. Especially during the winter seasons and are craving hot Korean food. The owner Jon is the friendliest person you'll meet and has good service! The Fried chicken is the one of the best I've tried, definitely worth the eat! 10/10.

Hands down the best Korean restaurant I've ever had! I've been to multiple Korean restaurants but I love kimchi's the only one that hits the spot! I ordered the bulgogi and japchae and they both tasted so amazing! The flavours were amazing and the pricing and sizes were really good! I also had their honey soy fried chicken and it was so good! They also have excellent costumer service and they make you feel really welcomed. Will definitely come back again!!

Great food! - fried chicken is crunchy and delicious. We took the sweet and spicy one, and it wasn’t too spicy. - bean paste stew is nice, especially when it’s cold. - bibimbap was quite nice too. I’ve been trying other asian restaurants in Queenstown, i’ve disappointed except for this one. Pay attention on the opening hours, we went there few times to see it’s closed. They only open during lunch time and dinner. If you like kpop, they also play kpop hit songs in the background like mamamoo, jaypark, somi, etc.

Very delicious, authentic Korean food served in a welcoming and warm atmosphere. I was the only Anglo presenting person in the place. Every other table was speaking Korean. I ordered the jopchea glass noodles with beef as well as the vegetarian spicy kimchi soup with soft tofu. So so so yummy.

One of the best Korean Food restaurant I've had! The portion is good and the sides are tasty! We don't have to wait too long for our food, and the staff is very helpful too. Definitely would recommend to anyone who fancies Korean meals! If you don't fancy Korean food, you should give it a go too!

Very good fried chicken! We tried the Sweet/Spicy (our favorite) and the Honey Soy, great big portions and flavor, we will definitely come back. If you feel like a good fried chicken, this is your place. Each plate is a half portion. Comes with kimchi, pickled radish, fried potato and fried seaweed. 👍🏻

Really friendly, professional service. 10/10 to all the team at Kimchi for top customer service! Prices are very affordable too! But the food....brilliant! I had the beef noodles. The meat was cooked to perfection and the portion size was perfect! My partner had the spicy chicken stew which was also delicious! I was skeptical of this place as it's the only Korean restaurant in Queenstown, but it did not disappoint. The price is reasonable. The flavours were good and on point. The manager was nice and friendly. He really enjoyed sharing his culture through food and words. I would go back again. I would have loved the tofu to be more sold instead of mashed up. The purple rice was a bonus. It wasn't the best Korean food I've had but it was pretty good. Worth a visit if you ate craving Korean.

The owner Jaydee was a lovely, humble man and the food, my goodness was so full of flavor. Jaydee even threw in a plate of dumplings complimentary once he knew it was our daughter's birthday. Stumbled in here cause my mum was craving asian food and WOW. No regrets. I thought I knew Korean food but this place took it to another level! Ordered Jjamppong cause the elder gentleman recommended it and it was fantastic! Mum got the stir fried pork belly and squid and again delicious. Not overly sweet like most places I’ve been to. Just the perfect amount of sweet and savoury. You can tell the chef put a lot of thought and love into his food. Service very friendly. Would definitely visit again! We were treated to some beautiful flavours of traditional Korean dishes. We had some tasting dishes of Kimchi, potato, picked radish and seaweed with a tasty hot noodle salad. Our mains were Beef Bibimbap. A good option to be able to create you own level of spiciness. Spicy stir fried pork on sizzling hot plate. Lovely Korean flavours. Service was excellent. We would recommend this restaurant and will definitely return. We hear their fried chicken is the best in town and it was proving to be very popular.

We love Korean food. This place had the best spicy Korean chicken we ever had. Everything else we ordered was really tasty. The man who served us was really engaging and gave us friendly banter! :) we dined with 3 of our kids all under 5 years old who were at the end of it after having had a big day exploring queenstown and he talked to the kids to entertain them which allowed us to enjoy our meal. He also gave the kids some juice which really cheered them up! Thank you!! We will be back for your amazing chicken and thanks for the great service!

The restauranteur kindly accommodated my noisy kids. However, i hope they would improve on serving time (30 min for four dishes) and catering skills (15 min for water). As for the food, I felt pork stir fry was great. But other soup based foods needs improving. Spicy Tofu soup (순두부찌개) had a bitter after taste. Korean miso soup (된장찌개) lacked the usual character of the dish. The pork stir fry (제육볶음) seemed have used different pork meats for different purpose - some thick and some were like bacon. I felt they may have mixed meat that were intended for different dish (삼겹살). Anyway, from other reviews, the place must play an important and special place for the Korean community in Queenstown. I hope the owner can take some of these comments seriously and further improve their culinary level to better serve the hungry guests.
