This place is a must go! After visiting a couple of places in Queenstown, Jervois steak house is definitely our favourite. The food was delicious and the service, outstanding! A special thank you to Megan who served us and made us feel at home. She never let our drinks empty and made sure everyone was happy at the table constantly. We will definitely come back again!!!

We had the 6 course degustagion meal. It was transcendent. The calamari was perfectly paired with a white wine. I have never eaten a more flavorful risotto. The steak tartar was perfectly seasoned and the chips were fresh as could be. The main was enormous and delicious, cut tableside by one of the best waiters I have had. Everything in the restaurant, from decor to service was immaculate. This was an amazing experience!

Food is quite pricey but staff is really on the ball with your needs and orders. They know their steaks and the cuts. The meats were of high quality and flavours on point. Steak was a tad salty compare to other places but nothing to complain about. Food was simply delicious.

The cocktails also amazing. So was our service. She had to be one of the top 3 services we have received in our life. She was really busy too. I used amazing a lot because this place deserves it. Perfectly cooked steak with amazing truffle source. We ordered a few super yummy entrees and side dishes. Love the cocktails too. Knowledgeable staffs gave you a run down of the different steaks and how to choose them.

Note that this place is very expensive and fancy. Don't expect anything cheap here. In saying that, the food is well worth the price. It is extremely fresh and very nice to eat.. I got the vegetarian Gnocchi and it was incredible. My companions ordered different stakes and they all really enjoyed them saying they were probably the best stakes they ever had. The seating and ambience is really warm and comfortable. Everything is very clean. The service here is incredible , no fault at all. The drinks here are amazing!! If you're looking for something fancy, this is the place.

Arguably Queenstown’s best steakhouse. 4+ stars - Excellent steak. We had the rib eye and filet as well as the duck. - Quality of ingredient was terrific / meat was perfectly seared to medium rare. - The duck was also very well-cooked and the pumpkin accompaniment provides a nice interesting contrast - For starters, we had the whitebait which was served Mediterranean style with olive oil and pita bread. An interesting dish though a hit and miss for our table. Slightly too salty. - Steak sauces were a bit underwhelming / standard - Side dishes of creamed spinach and mushroom were both great. - Extensive wine selection and knowledgeable server.

Delicious! Literally everything was perfection. Probably one of the best steakhouses I've ever been to. We went here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and our server, Gisela, was fantastic! Gave us great recommendations. We got the Wagyu Scotch cut, salmon filet, whipped mashed potatoes, bread, and Mac and cheese. Wow the bread was fresh and warm, meat melted in our mouth, and one of the best Mac and cheeses I've had! Highly recommend coming here. They even gave my boyfriend a birthday dessert. Will be returning!

Dinner here was as expected from a high end steakhouse: warm, personal service, amazing food, nice atmosphere. Can’t go wrong. We had a ribeye (scotch?) and the fish of the day and both were very tasty. The sides were a real highlight including the gratin dauphinois (done properly!) and the truffle mac & cheese.

Beautiful steak and service. We had Vivi as our server, she was super knowledgeable and really made us feel welcome. Defintely ask to see the steak board so you find out the differences between the steaks. It's pretty cool to see. We enjoyed the Robbins Island sirloin with the accompanying jus. It was extremely tender. I'd recommend making a booking before hand.

Best place for a steak in Queenstown. Incredible range of wagyu on the menu. Atmosphere is exactly what you want to either run a muck with the boys on your bucks party or have a civilised outing with your favourite lady. Both of which I have done. The atmosphere is ideal for all occasions, the staff are well trained and most importantly, the food is top notch.

Rob and I went to Jervois when we visited Queenstown in September 2015, and to this day we compare every steak we have to the ones we had here. The atmosphere, food, wine, and service was A+. Yes, you do pay for what you get, but the steak was tender and flavoursome. We both left with empty plates and wanting to return the next night. Cant wait to come back and eat here again!

We had an AMAZING anniversary dinner last night and we are still talking about it!! We were greeted with an amazing staff and warm welcome. The seating and service were outstanding! We chose the 3steak option where they serve the 3 cuts and cut it for you at the table. Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes and carrots were all cooked to perfection!!! She was second to none, great service, excellent advice regarding the food, good conversation and made our visit memorable. We ordered onion rings which weren’t great but tbf the wait staff did warn us they had a new supplier that wasn’t as good as the previous but we ordered anyway. Lesson learned. I do an annual visit here. It's hard to beat dining on a medium rare T-bone, truffle chips and a glass of Coke after a week in the mountains. Their truffle chips are so crispy and stay crispy for so long, I don't know how they get the chips so crispy.

The food was beyond amazing, the cocktail and alcohol menu was MASSIVE and, like the food, everything we tried,w absolutely loved. Also as it was our anniversary the kitchen staff wished us a happy anniversary by writing it in chocolate over our dessert.

The food was A++ and the service great. The only complaint, there was a very loud drunken table who spotted a particular politician trying to enjoy his dinner. They wanted to go over and give him a hard time. The waiting staff blocked and intervened. I was surprised however to find the same people downstairs harassing people as we left and asking our political view etc in a very hostile way. Obviously a difficult situation for the staff who did their best to handle the main instigator. Probably the issue is how did he get that drunk.... and secondly the restaurant manager should have had him removed or called the police to avoid what was a pretty unsettling situation.

I always heard amazing feedback about that place. Finally tried it myself and I wasn't disappointed at all. The service friendly and great. The waitress we had that night, strongly knew the menu and was able to explain everything. Each bites I had was an explosion of flavors, in my mouth. First time after over 6 months I ate meat. It was very satisfying to have hight quality beef tartar. Cocktails and wine were delicious too. Will definitely be back whenever I will feel having a piece of meet and want to have a break in my fish dietary.

Nothing too amazing really. Waitress gave us the wrong price for oysters, said they were cheaper than what they actually charged us, so we ended up spending more than we intended. I ordered the NZ wagyu steak from hawkes bay. Wasn't too Impressed, taste like a normal steak. I could probably buy wagyu and cook it up better myself. Home Cooked steak is always the best! Overall not worth the price :) wouldn't go again.

We had just got engaged and went to celebrate with a steak. To say this was one of the best food decisions we ever made is a wild understatement! The setting is pure class with subtle lighting which complimented the atmosphere as cosy, intimate and refined. The food is next level. Our waiter was well presented and certainly knew his stuff. The steaks on offer were like nothing I have ever seen before. The waiter went through all the steak options (so many) with a great in depth knowledge which lead to the perfect choice for our individual tastes. I have never had wagu beef before and although it was the best steak I have ever had sadly it made me look down on any steak I have had since as I knew what it could have been. Absolutely melt in your mouth delicious. Afterwards we had a drink in the downstairs bar which rounded off the most perfect day. I still get emails from them and it makes me sad that I live on the other side of the planet. I would go back to New Zealand again if only for the steak. If you are reading this please do yourself a favour and go see it for yourself. If I could give 6 stars I would.

Excellent food and service. We had a party of four. Made dinner reservations online two days ahead and our table was ready exactly on time. Our two servers were delightful and helpful. Meat cuts were presented to us prior to ordering making our menu selections much easier. Our server actually sliced our meat orders at table side making sharing very easy. We had four side orders that were served family style, all prepared wonderfully. All unfinished items were boxed and bagged for us by the server and made for another good meal the next day. All in all we agreed it was an excellent experience. Expect prices that are higher than neighboring restaurants but well worth it due to the service and meal selections.

Located near the roundabouts, at side entrance of the Sofitel hotel. Booking online available through Google maps. The restaurant is located on the second floor. Offers Wagyu from Japan and Australia and can top any dish with a king crab, everything from sea to lans. We had Myzayaki Wagyu A5, and a Scotch cut. Wagyu was amazing! Juicy and the marbles were so evenly spread. They also offer a wide ranging selection of wine and Cocktail list. Really awesome kids menu with Wagyu too at $26 a set meal. Very well priced. Staff were amazing, just knew how to keep children occupied so we can explore their menu. Special mention our waiting staff was a godsent, recommended things exactly what we wanted for the night. Highly recommend.

10 out of 10 everytime we go to Jervois, but especially on special occasions. Last night my daughter and I celebrated her 21st birthday with her favorite meal at her favorite restaurant. The team were amazing. 2020 has been a very difficult year for everyone, but Jervois has not missed a beat. We have celebrated my daughter's 16th, 18th and now 21st at Jervois and everytime they never disappoint us. Will continue to sing the praises of Jervois Queenstown to everyone we speak to. For a Premium steak dining experience in Queenstown, there is no better place. The steaks were cooked to perfection and all the accompanying dishes were delicious. Service was fantastic and the server was very knowledgeable about the entire menu and wine selection.

I do not usually post reviews but For this place I have to. I called in to see if we can get a table for two On Saturday Night (14/7/18) . We were told they would hold a table for us. The manager greeted us and knew I had just called them. The service was outstanding, Especially our server who explained to us about the different cuts of steaks. The food was awesome. The atmosphere was great. And in the end the finishing touch on the desert with the special happy birthday for my Partner was extraordinary. Good job you guys.

Produce was excellent quality, with fresh seasonal ingredients. The coromandel oysters were fresh and delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly, however not allowed the rest, resulting in a large pool of juices in the plate. When combined with a low viscosity peppercorn sauce the result was a large pool of liquid in ones plate. The sides were delicious with special mention for the mash potato and scored carrots. The betroot dish could be improved with some nuts to add texture to compliment the soft beets and feta. The matching wine was thoughtful. Staff were professional and welcoming. Atmosphere was good. The absence of Complimentary homemade bread was a loss in a fine dining establishment and should be reconsidered. Very close to 5 stars

What advice can I give you at this wonderful steak house...go see the gents toilets...very amusing (see picture below). Ok, so they have a sense of humour and...they also have an amazing menu. Various cuts and grades of beef, vast selection of sauces, veggies, drinks, cocktails... dizzying with all its various options... But worth it, so worth it. I just had a small eye filet, probably the cheapest on the menu with bearnaise sauce, which was cooked to medium rare perfection. Mouth watering. Indulge yourself, you're worth it right? Oh, and gentlemen, don't forget to visit the toliets!!

Their A5 wagyu is the best I've had. The marbling is so on point that it melts in mouth without much chewing. Other than the wagyu, all the other steak cut were very good too. We had the truffle fries and it tasted too salty for us. It's always best to ask the waitresses for their recommendation on the steak sauce if you don't really know and don't want to spoil the steaks. Overall very pleasant dining experience. Definitely recommend it!

Just finished eating here, and WOW WOW WOW. The steak was INCREDIBLE. Just completely melted in my mouth, it was AMAZING. I'm in awe. I loved it. Food was good, however the service was a let down. We first ate here last week where our waitress was over the top trying to sell entrees, sides, desserts and drinks when we had ordered enough. Tonight we decided to give it another go because the food was good. We waited a while for our orders to be taken and the water was not serviced after the meals were served. The cashier explained that the waitress was busy due to the number of people that showed up without a booking - however the restaurant only looked half full on a Saturday night and our waitress was attending the table next to us quite frequently. As per the other reviews, expect to pay >$50 per person but unfortunately don’t expect excellent service.

Made a reservation for bday dinner. Was surprised at the various steaks quality, we did not ordered the most expensive waygu but even the standard grain fed ones from the north and south island had expectional marbling and was culinarily cooked so much so that the texture and flavours was simply dancing on our tongues. Even the hanger steak my girl had for her kid meal was yummy and moist, not tough to bite the least. Starter and sides ordered like Sautéed scallops, and Prawns and onion rings was cooked and delicious as well. Ended the dinner with sweet gesture of a chocolate brownie with bday inscription and candle on plate. Bill was probably just a tad($20) more than rest of the dinners we had in New Zealand, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner with attentive server all night, and easily one of the best dinner in our 2 weeks here! We definitely recommend to eat here if you are a steak person.

I have travelled all around the world and been to some of the top restraunts and this has made my top choices for me. I ordered the firstlight 6+ wagu steak and it was magnificent it was cooked to perfection perfectly juicy filled with flavour. It was the best steak I have had in my entire life. Then the night was topped off with an amazing lemon cheese cake. The cheesecake was devine and worked amazingly with the beautiful lemon sorbet placed on a beautiful black plate with splashes of gold on it for style. Yes the prices are high but the food easily compensates for it!

Best steak I have had in NZ over the years. Premier class and the maitre d, so knowledgeable. Would recommend to anyone and will def return. Make no mistake, this experience is not cheap - but well worth it if you want to spoil yourself. The ambiance is what you would expect from a fine dining restaurant - dimmed lights, acceptable decor and atmosphere. If you're from Australia (Brisbane), the steaks are comparable to Moo Moo's, however found the quality of the steak to be nicer. They had a great option of a tasting plate (three cuts of the Chef's choice - weren't the cheapest cuts from each range, nor were they the top of the range). I would recommend eating the Angus, Wakanui, and Wagyu (in that order). The steaks were tasty, distinctly flavoursome and amazing with or even without the sauces.The range of mustard available was also impressive. If you need to splurge on one meal in Queenstown, this would be it!
