We had the 70 dollar per head chefs choice. Totally recommend it!! Everything was delicious. Starter Crumbed fried cauliflower Lamb balls and yoghurt sauce Shredded duck and crepe Main Periperi chicken, feta tomato Roasted potato and crispy onion Beetroot salad, toasted seeds feta Dessert Coconut cream and rhubarb brulee (amazing) They were super awesome about our food peeves, no nuts, no kale, no strong goats cheese. And lastly, the staff especially Tasha were fantastic, oh and the views... the views were stunning.

Definitely recommend this place service was 11 out of 10 staff where very helpful came here as saw good reviews online and was not dissatisfied, definitely recommend getting the pork belly sticks they are delicious. They even gave my partner a little birthday cake for her birthday which was honestly amazing will definitely make this my number 1 spot to go to in Queenstown and let everyone know this if they are going down, thanks for the great food and atmosphere.

Super sunny day, great location by the water! Loved the experience from the start. We were greeted by a warm and friendly face as we walked in. We sat outside and we’re just in for some cocktails and the lovely bartender Ricky ?? Went out of his way to make sure we were served and happy. Bless him, he had a huge grin the whole time! What an experience! Public Kitchen has a nice selection of vegetarian meals - the roast pumpkin curry is wonderful! After having this this we shared several snacks which were wonderfully paired with a nice wine recommendation from our lovely server Brad. Such a nice location with a fun-filled atmosphere!

Came in today and was blown away by the atmosphere, food, and service. We had the lovely Brad taking care of us and he was exceptional. Got duck pancakes and camembert, with a lovely Riesling that Brad recommended himself, all tasted delicious. 10/10, will definitely come back the next time I'm around.

What an amazing surprise, we asked for all their vegan options and boy what a feast they presented! Highlights were the roasted pumpkin steaks and the lentil stew. healthy greens and real hero veges. Hats off!

Went for almost all of the snacks, instead of the trust the chef, and was not disappointed with our choice. Each dish was almost better than the last. Especially loved the pork belly, duck pancakes, meatballs and the baked Camembert, but they were all amazing. View is perfect, serving was great.

I would certainly recommend Public Kitchen and Bar for any special event - we had 24 people for a Saturday evening. One of the most amazing locations I have ever had been seated at for a restaurant. Seated right on the side of the lake and able to watch the Earnslaw sail out as we waited for our food. It was a little chilly but the staff handed out blankets and turned on the gas heaters around us making for a very pleasant atmosphere. We went with the chef's choice which i highly recommend. It does work out to be slightly better value for money that way as well as getting to try things you would never normally chose. Nothing we got was what we had looked at the menu and thought about ordering and we are so glad for that because every dish was fantastic. We also ordered the cheese rolls starter which was a fancy twist on the classic and without a doubt the best i have ever had. Overall a wonderful experience and would highly recommend.

Initially, I was a bit overwhelmed by the sheer amount of choice available (perfect for those with picky mates!). Fortunately, Brad, my server, made some stellar recommendations for the pork and prawn gyoza, chips, and sole, all of which went down a treat! Perfect atmosphere, service, and food, it’s a must-go if you’re in town!

This is our favourite restaurant in Queenstown. Sharing plates that are just the right size. The Sole is a personal favourite, followed by the pork belly and pear salad. Great position on the dock, so you can see the Earnslaw come in and out. Friendly waiters. Recommended.

We had a fabulous time at Public for my husband's birthday and our wedding anniversary. We were met by Wies who was an amazing host for us. Wies was super friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. We were surprised by a celebration card and cake. Such a lovely touch. We had been to Public Kitchen once before and had a fantastic experience with the ‘trust the chef’ menu. This time, we were keen to do the same but we came with a group that had a lot of different dietary requirements and we weren’t sure if it would work. The staff were so incredibly accommodating and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. We all got to eat delicious food that worked with our different requirements and allergies and we had a fantastic night over all. A+ for service and A+ for food - especially the risotto! Will definitely be back, this is one of the best spots to eat in Queenstown.

Amazing food and fabulous service. We opted for 'Trust the Chef' which was a great option for our group. The variety and amount of food was unreal. We started with deep fried cheese rolls. Delicious comfort food! Then we had beef, pork belly, chicken, salmon and vegetable dishes as well as a number of side dishes. All of this was followed up with creme brulee and pavlova. The Public team were attentive and friendly. They provided excellent suggestions and were unobtrusive. Highly recommended.

We were welcomed like we were regulars. The staff were attentive and friendly and the view was one of the best in QT - if you get the front table. The menu was explained clearly and we got lots of smaller dishes to share, all of which were presented beautifully and tasted even better. Not a bad dish amongst them! I am so happy I brought my family here. Their waitress are so nice and the food was just amazing. I recommend the skirt steak which the staffs said is the favorite from the kitchen. And I bet it's true!! The meat is so tender and the way to cook the steak was perfect. And then we order the desert was rhubarb brulee. It's the best finishing of our meal. I would definitely come back next time. The view by the lake is the best scene while you dining.

Great location if you're a local or visiting Queenstown. Jonas, Tom, Lucy and the staff and great to talk to, recommend drinks from and provide excellent customer service. We often go there for the famed Espresso Martinis, but definitely ask them for their recommendation for a drink if you're unsure!

We celebrated a birthday at Public sitting outside on a beautiful Queenstown evening. Maitre d' Melissa and her team looked after us with easy grace and efficiency. The food arrived in good time and was delicious. I can easily recommend Public for an enjoyable evening out.

Situated down near the ferry terminals/wharf area, is this great little place. The decor is a clever mix eclectic mix of modern, funky and retro/vintage and it works well. I LOVE the red public phone booth that has been crafted into one of the entrances! The young service staff do a pretty good job of explaining things, and basically, you need to order a protein course, then add carbs and veggies or salad to balance out the meal. There’s quite a large selection of meats and seafoods to choose from, so something to please everyone basically. We decide to share a dish of fried chicken with hot sauce($24), and plate of cider roasted pork belly with caramelised pears($26). Sides of duck fat roasted potatoes($9.50), and wilted spring greens($9.50). A Corona is $8, and a large bottle of Orchard Thieves Blueberry and Elderberry Cider is $13. We thoroughly enjoy every dish, and the neighbouring diners were also very happy with their choices. All up, it costs two of us $90. Pretty happy with that. Check it out for yourself.

This is a very nice place! I loved the decor and how they used projector lamps as tables. Genius! The food is very delicious. We had the fish croquettes, potted rabbit and duck with hoisin sauce, all to share. All three dishes were great! They have a nice wine selection and some great cocktails. It's also nicely located by the wharf.

Very nice location and the views are one of the best in town. We ordered rack of lamb and roasted caramelized carrots and parsnip. We were group of ladies wanting sharing plates and Public did not disappoint. We had absolutely fantastic service with recommendations and also they went out of their way to accommodate one fussy person wanting cooked oysters rather than raw which was no problem. The pork belly entree kebabs are to die for. Would definitely recommend and we are definitely going back again. Our only criticism (not really) is that we were seated by the window and it is cold in the winter, however, they did turn heater on but was still cold if you were directly beside window.

We walked along the beautiful lakefront of Queenstown in the evening and decided to have dinner at Public Kitchen Bar. It looked very inviting with the soft decor, plush booth seats, and a buzz from the patrons already inside. The noise level wasn’t too bad at all here on a Sunday evening so that made it more pleasant for us. They offer lakeside dining (if you choose to sit outside) and local kiwi fare (which is definitely sprinkled in there). We were planning on eat a little healthier tonight and the menu did offer a lot on that end. We started by ordering two salads to share: 1. cous cous salad 2. beetroot, baby spinach, cheese, and candied walnuts salad Both delivered as advertised. The candied walnuts were especially good. For our main, we decided to go with the Nana Marg’s lemon and thyme chicken. The portion was quite enough for two hungry people. The chicken itself was very tender and moist with the lemon and thyme having perfumed it well. The service staff are super friendly and make sure you get taken care of while you are there. Overall, this was a great spot in Queenstown for dinner should you be at the lakefront.

OUR NEW "LOCAL" IN QUEENSTOWN The staff were friendly (esp. Weis and Lucy), and the service was excellent. The live acoustic guitarist was fantastic. The home-made pavlova was delicious, with very generous portions. We loved the cocktail specials. Will definitely go back.

Awesome spot. If you sit outside you get some epic views of the Lake and QT itself. Food and Drink: We had the Gin Spritz Cocktail to drink - yum and affordable. To eat we had the Beetroot Salad, Lamb Kofta and Fried Cauliflower. All 3 dishes were enough food for the two of us to share. They were all delicious and again very affordable. The Wider Menu: Honestly the menu is great and i think it has something for everyone. The food doesn't feel or taste like greasy pub food which is a bonus. We would have chosen other things but were in a rush to have lunch and get to an appointment. Customer Service: Amazing! our waitress as well as the guy that took our payment and looked after our drinks - they were both really lovely and chatty people. Would recommend eating here. There are so many people from all over the world that work here and they know the level that is expected overseas. This does make it a little more pricey, but it was well worth it, and I think the prices are comparable to the rest of the area. Went here on a recommendation and I have to say it was average at best. Service was subpar (took 10-15 mins to take our order, even after trying to get their attention numerous times), didn't even save our booked table (we saw a walk-in couple who was directed to our booth right as we arrived, right on time). We made an immediate comment to the woman who was ushering those in but she said she "still had our booth", which wasn't the one we booked. This might sound like a simple thing but it set a poor start to the evening. Overall the food was fairly good, but there was something seriously wrong with the beef cheeks - it smelled like a baby's diarrhoea. I know beef cheek can have an odd smell at times, even when delicious but there was definitely something wrong here. According to the waitress, the chef agreed and took it off our bill and offered another item. We went for the pork belly and were ultimately surprised when that was on the bill also - we thought that was being offered as an apology. The wine we selected was excellent, and the salmon was exquisite. Unfortunately however that's not enough to save them imho. We will not be back. Save your money, go to Flame.

The following night out we encountered poor service elsewhere and yet longing for good desserts we returned to Public's! Still busy late in the evening and not able to fit our party of 5, they made an exception and let us do desserts orders for take away, something they do not normally allow. The staff had no idea we had such poor service earlier in the evening, but their accommodations really changed the night around. Plus Public's Pavlova was delicious!!
