Reviews of The Boatshed Cafe
W.
A bit pricey but worth a visit if you are in Frankton heading to Queenstown. The staff aren't very friendly but the food was tasty and of decent quantity. Location, especially the outdoor seating is lovely as it is right on the water. The hot chocolate could have been better though! Would definitely go back when we visit Queenstown next.
Z.
Cozy cafe in Frankton. We didn’t realize it’s packed with people until we came inside. 😅 It’s very low key from outside (I think) but pleasantly surprised that it is popular with the locals and tourists alike. Came for breakfast as recommended by a friend. Good selection of dishes, they change their menu per season. Great service and nice view. The Egg Benedict was delicious! And the dessert was perfect with a cup of tea/coffee. 👌
Could be busy but don’t worry, there’s loads of parking space. They’ll even subsidize your parking ticket if you can’t find a space outside the cafe and use the Pay &Display outside.
S.
The food and coffee was really good, healthy portions and yummy, exceeded our expectations. At first seemed a bit unorganized as it was very busy and took nearly 25mins to take our order, but the food arrived in less than 10mins after the order was taken. Good lake views if you manage to get the seats outside on the left. Had to park in paid carpark but it was subsidized by the cafe when we show our tickets. It was a nice little ending to our holidays.
B.
A++ customer service, food and ambience contributed to the amazing time I had here. I will definitely be back again.
Food was gorgeously presented and the flavours of the dish were well thought out and complemented each element of the dish to bring out the best. Before I knew it my food was all gone and I wanted more!
W.
Another gorgeous plate of food. This French toast was epic. My husband had Eggs Beni with pork belly, another very satisfied customer.
O.
Beautiful meal! Wonderful view if you get to sit outside. I think food is different each week. I went there for breaky and ordered crispy chicken burger. Lol, as soon as I had my first bite, i was thinking “nope, it’s not too early to have this chicken burger” it tastes soooo gooood!!!! With the crispy potato. Oooh. Perfect! Will definitely be back
h.
Great food with wonderful presentation – everything came out surprisingly quick, too, even with the place being quite packed when we were there! The outdoor view is always a treat.
K.
Recommended by a friend, we ordered the seafood chowder and lamb neck. The seafood was pretty good. The lamb neck was average.
T.
Absolutely lovely! Really enjoyed the decor, views, staff and the great food. A new favorite place to come to for brunch in Queenstown!
I had a coffee and the chorizo scrambled eggs and oh man.. that was one of the best dishes Ive had in Queenstown after living here for 2 years. So much flavor and very well made.
10/10 recommend!
S.
Great coffee, delicious food and a wonderful setting. Staff were helpful in seating us and initially taking our order but once the food was out, we didn't see anyone again until approaching the till to pay. The cafe wasn't even that busy at the time so it was surprising not to have someone check in on us so that we could follow up on the request for a high chair and perhaps a second coffee.
A.
Quiet and cosy place in front of the lake.
We had an excellent breakfast.
Staff is friendly and we were quickly served.
It's worth your money in a short drive from town centre.
T.
Truly awesome spot to have lunch, brunch or just a coffee. Historical building, very good idea to have converted it into a cafe. I don’t know you can get much better views than this, lots of people end up going into Queenstown but this, this provides a much better experience and food than some of the more popular tourist spots in town. Must visit.
N.
So pleased this place was referred to us. The breakfast was as good as it looked! The service was fast and efficient and the cafe was humming with happy diners. Loved the location and the scenery from the patio tables. Definitely will be coming back.
D.
Great food, great location and reasonably priced. Been there a few times now and I've never been disappointed
R.
So good! Food was fresh and delicious. Really good menu prices, good coffee and accommodating staff.
S.
Really cool spot. Seems lots people come with dog. It was busy but coffee and food came out quickly.
S.
Beautiful food, amazing service and stunning location. Good coffee. It’s a 5/5 for me. Was a great start to the day.
C.
Quaint little cafe that looks like a house from the outside. It’s tucked away in a corner but parking is clearly signposted and free so that’s great. Be careful not to park on the lots meant for boats- they’re quite strict with it of late. Very nice vibe and great service - we had two servers come separately to check on us after the food was served . You get a nice view of the lake with mountains behind. Also it’s a must to try their Blueberry French toast - I’m not a French toast person but this blew my mind. The crispy potato is awesome too
P.
Such a beautiful spot! Great coffee, fab staff and the blueberry french toast was a visual & taste extravaganza!! I can't rate High enough!
S.
Outstanding. Extremely busy but it’s impressive how efficiently they get groups in and out. A very well oiled machine I’d say.
The French toast was the nicest I’ve had in a while too.
T.
Awesome place for Breakfast. Good Parking. Easy to miss this place and when we pulled up in the Car Park we thought we were in the wrong place.
Great service, they get busy but they always find a seat and table. Great atmosphere on the lake. Food and Coffee is Excellent! We came here several times during our short stay in Queenstown.
D.
A great recommended to us spot for brunch. Humming! Great Lake side spot full of locals with an interesting outlook of comings and goings on the lake. Food was delicious!
J.
Really nice breakfast in a great location. We had the French toast and chorizo scrambled eggs which were both delicious. Would love to go on a nice day, sit outside and enjoy the view
G.
The coffee is almost on par with Raglan Roast in terms of consistency! Look forward to coming here every time I visit QT for that reason. The food is quality and the service is a well oiled machine.
A.
Great atmosphere how ever it's dissatisfied in being told there was nothing on the menu I could have being gf, allergic to peanuts and soy. I had a coconut hot chocolate and felt ill after as though there was a dairy contamination and ender up vomiting.
Y.
Seafood chowder was good. Not many options for lunch, more focused on breakfast dishes. Staff were friendly
S.
Food is always taste great, fast services, quality dishes and staff are lovely.
I've been here many times and always satisfied.
A must visit cafe in Queenstown.
M.
Excellent experience! I had eggs Benedict with bacon any my friend had eggs Benedict with salmon. Both dishes were really yummy!
You can sit outside on a little terrace or inside and even from inside you have the amazing view at the lake and mountains.
Definitely recommend! ❤️
Thanks to everyone for an amazing meal and really nice experience :)
C.
I wish we could give this place 6 stars. The location was beautiful, busy but not chaotic. The views of the lake were perfect. And the food was so good that we came back for breakfast the next day! Each employee we met was so friendly and the service was excellent. Wish we were back there right now!
M.
I am a little fussy about my coffee and found here a brilliant one! my favourite coffee in all town and one of the best coffees that I had in New Zealand. The staff are super friendly, passionate, and attentive. The service and the lake view was at it finest.
I had eggs and Haloumi cheese as a brekkie and I like it so much. The other day tried the french toast and it was a bit awkward and tasted a bit odd .. worth the try though and hope they could work on it.
But again thank you guys for serving such a fine coffee 👍🏻
S.
Sis recommended popping in The Boatshed for brunch and it didn't disappoint. Ordered the salmon pasta to enjoy outside - the attentive staff were friendly, the dish was perfect and the view of The Remarkables was beyond words.
J.
Slightly outside the cbd but this place is definitely worth the little stroll to get there.
Food was spot on with massive portions! Our ham was crispy but not dry, root veggies were sweet and crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside and the lamb on the bone fell off the bone beautifully! Great little spot for brunch.
J.
Great location away from the main bit of busy Queenstown, great menu, fitout and service. We will be back!
C.
A delightful cafe situated just outside of Queenstown next to the cycleway. The deck out back is a great place to enjoy the local scenery as well as sample the great coffee ☕ and cakes. Well worth stopping off if you're out walking or biking.
E.
Lovely warm atmosphere over looking the lake. The chicken waffles, Kumara chips and soup of the day are a must try. Lovely staff who are helpful and cheerful. One of my favourite places to eat in Queenstown.
M.
Great coffee and excellent chowder. View over lake is the icing on the cake, no didn't have cake 😉.
G.
Awesome little brunch café. Food was all well cooked and beautifully plated. The French toast was light but delicious. Didn't try the crispy potatoes but looked goood. Excellent service
T.
The atmosphere and service was superb. Could not fault the quality and presentation of the dishes and the pricing for our lunch was what we expected.
B.
With a heavy heart, I had to bid Queenstown farewell after spending 3 wonderful days here. I have to say that Queenstown has one of the best panoramic views in the world no matter what people say. To end everything with a bang, a very good breakfast is needed.. and this brought me to
This cafe definitely ranks as one of the most beautiful breakfast spots that I'd gone to while vacationing in NZ. Located on the shore of the Lake Wakatipu, it offers unparallel view of the beautiful lake while enjoying a cup of coffee, breakfast or even lunch. While it's not exactly in the Queenstown centre, it took only about 5-8 minutes drive to Frankton or if you feel adventurous with times to spare, walk along the Lake to reach this cafe (about 5km).
I arrived there on a chilly winter morning but I managed to get a table by the window so technically I could still dine with a view minus the cold.
◾scrambled eggs on toast with extra bacon
◾soup of the day
◾pulled pork eggs benedict - hoisin 12-hours braised pork shoulder, seasonal greens, potato hash (Instead of bread or muffin), hollandaise sauce and sesame oil.
◾Cheese & ham toast
◾Waffle with banana
◾love the quality coffee... I could sit outside at the alfresco area all-day drinking coffee if not for the cold weather.
What used to be a former ticket office, this building has been converted into a quaint and gorgeous breakfast spot. We met a group of fellow Malaysians who were just as excited to dine with a view here! I read that they have changed the menu do some items here might or might not be available.
J.
A Queenstown hidden gem! Just off the main road (not easily visible) on a bike track, is this lovely cafe sitting right on the water.
Great views, ambiance, service and absolutely delicious food and coffee
J.
Amazing. Eat the french toast.... Decaf is great tasting as well.
R.
This is a great place to have breakfast on the edge of the lake with a great atmosphere very friendly service. Getting back onto the Franklin Road is a bit of a nightmare, as the traffic heading out to the airport was quite busy, but with such a hearty breakfast in your tummy, you can wait and eventually get in
K.
The food was delightful! We had the granola, which was freshly made from scratch, full of flavor and not too sweet - all ingredients wonderfully balanced each other and the coffee which was also great. The other dish we had was the ‘glazed baby carrots with quinoa, zucchini & pomegranate
roti bread & carrot hummus, which was delicious. Highly recommend adding the optional side of beef cheeks.
The atmosphere is relaxing with outside seating that had beautiful lake views!
J.
It is on the bike trail and perfect stop to chill and grab a bite. Looks humble but when you walk in the cafe beautifully embrace the lake. We only had drinks but would love to come back and grab a bite next time
S.
Excellent customer service - waitresses were very friendly, took the time to wait for the indecisive people and also confirmed orders to check they were right. For a table of 8 everything came out all at once - without much of a wait too.
Food presentation was beautiful! I had the French toast and it was beautifully soft with delicious flavours. Others had the vege soup, eggs bene with pork belly or salmon and all commented they had delicious meals. Servings of salmon were generous.
Very enjoyable experience after the Queenstown race. Thanks very much!
D.
Can't go too wrong in this location, right by the lake. Food is good and coffee is excellent.
A.
Came here for brunch and some hot drinks. Overall, there wasn't anything particularly special about the food or drinks.
Ended up getting eggs, halloumi and mushrooms which were nice enough but probably not in comparison to some of the other great places to eat around the Queenstown area.
The atmosphere however is lovely, it's a great place to come if you're looking for somewhere quaint and pretty.
The staff were also very friendly and very accommodating of us.
G.
Found this on Trip Advisor and it's a wee gem. Great coffee and good food, including delicious sticky buns. Service was a little slow to start with but came right. Great views of the lake too, and if it's warm you can sit outside on the balcony area. The pic is the coriander and potato scramble - yum.
C.
Cute and cozy place by the lake. The food is also not bad. A good spot for a scenic brunch and a good cup of coffee.
A.
Perfectly cooked eggs but on the pricier side for brekkie. Pictured is their version of the big breakfast and the muesli w fruit. Nice view, good coffee, and efficient table service.
J.
I went for lovely walk with my son in the stroller... And a beautiful young dutch lady opened the door for me and offered her kindness towards making my experience easy and fantastic. All the staff were friendly and smiley which I love! The choc brownie was to do for! Coffee was a 10/10 too! Will definitely recommend this place to everyone:))
R.
I have been there twice, i are the mix grill (I don't remember how they Call it), the portion is just perfect, the price is Fair.
The second time the portion was bigger, but always good.
The view of the lake is lovely, and i will definactly come back again.
The service could improve a little.
B.
Nice little cafe with great views of lake wakatipu and surrounding mountains. Really enjoyed the french toast but felt that the serving size was a little small.
P.
My favorite Local Cafe Bar from 2016.. Excellant low key open air cafe with character. New Young Owner in 2019 will bring some changes, upgrades and injection of a Marina, private boat access, boosted WIFI signal which it needs..better parking and or guest arrival options and tap I to the surge in MTB bikes and Ebike use...
I love their BASIC fresh and uncomplicated menu, and to be honest the STAFF are simply some of the very best in the local industry.... hands down!... Its true service with a genuine feel....
P.
Love this cafe right on water. Good menu. Friendly efficient service. Quick coffee & muffin or long lunch.
N.
Amazing breakfast. Friendly and attentive staff. Definitely recommend to stop on the way in or out of queenstown. Will be back.
L.
My husband and toddler had a very lovely breakfast here. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. Serving sizes were good and the wait staff were very friendly and attentive. A pleasent surprise just outside of your busy touristy Queenstown.
C.
A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Secluded spot away from the crowds. Stunning views of the lake if you can stand the heat.
M.
Really great breakfast and pretty good coffee too. Such a great location too. Very busy on Sunday so we came back on Monday and walked straight in. Will be back.
L.
What a stunning little Queenstown secret! Tucked away on the bike track near the marina literally on top of the clear Lake Wakatipu water we found the best cafe, quaintly Otago but modern and rustic all at the same time. Delicious cabinet food for a quick get away, but why would you ... we stayed for the afternoon to drink in the scenery and ordered from the menu. Attentive and pleasant service. A beautiful way to relax in a unique position that you won't find anywhere else in Queenstown. i will be definitely putting this on my "go to" list when I visit Queenstown again.
What a find!
S.
We stopped here midway on a walk from the Hilton back to town, after being dropped at the start by the water taxi.
To be blunt, there's not a lot of choice if you want lunch on this walk, but the Boatshed did the job (though a teenager near us was distressed their fries/chips had been replaced by "crispy potatoes").
Luncheon choices are quite limited, but there's enough for everyone - salads, burgers, lamb and salmon, a decent range of beers, and tea and coffee and cakes.
Not a foodie destination, but it's a lovely spot on the water, and a nice stop on a walk, or catch a water taxi or bus up to the Marina.
B.
The staff were very accommodating and very cool atmosphere overlooking the water. Lovely food.
C.
Beautiful setting here. One of my favorites. Been here multiple times. Don't expect a smile from the staff. It's always a bit clicky and serious. Possibly because it gets busy.
M.
Amazing breakie and coffee - the best we've had through our whole NZ trip. We got the avo and cherry tomatoes on wholemeal toast, with feta and haloumi, and also scrambled eggs on wholemeal toast with haloumi. Super fresh, good quality ingredients and food, service from every member of staff was spot on 👌👌👌
A.
A great location with a seasonal menu. Attention to detail throughout the whole experience; from decor and casual nautical style dress code, to the finely placed seasoning on the perfectly cooked eggs.
As per previous reviews- you simply get what you pay for. We’ll be back on our next QT visit, no doubt!
R.
Great food, nice location, cool atmosphere. We'll be back!
B.
Great service as they were about to close but still allowed us a table and let us order. The food was great and the ambiance, right there by lakeside, was great 👍.
m.
Wow. Well worth stopping in. Great views right on the lake and exceptional food. Great little brewery just a bit down the marina too.
B.
Really nice smoked salmon with the eggs benedict! And what a view. A definite must visit for your trip to Queenstown.
A.
Perfectly cooked eggs but on the pricier side for brekkie. Pictured is their version of the big breakfast and the muesli w fruit. Nice view, good coffee, and efficient table service.
W.
Excellent food here, with the best mimosas!
R.
The chorizo breakfast is very tasteful and the blueberry french toast was amazing.
R.
Great spot for lunch and wine! Right by the water and a lovely walk or bike around the lake to get here! Friendly staff too so very inviting 👍🏻
n.
A locals secret. Always great food and staff that like to please. One of my favourite lunch destinations. I have been many times and never left disappointed.

A bit out of Queenstown so parking is easier, but still limited when busy.
R.
Great spot for lunch and wine! Right by the water and a lovely walk or bike around the lake to get here! Friendly staff too so very inviting 👍🏻
V.
Great place for beakfast by the lake. Quality food and service. Coffee is excellent.
C.
Beautiful modern food, great coffee, excellent service. Historic, cosy setting. Pulled pork eggs benedict, yum! Can have with salmon.
T.
Great food and coffee and unhurried service. Loved it
n.
A locals secret. Always great food and staff that like to please. One of my favourite lunch destinations. I have been many times and never left disappointed.
N.
Great breakfast, beautiful view. Was recommended the chowder for breakfast with house smoked salmon. Brilliant. Also rate the chorizo scramble.
K.
Great breakfast and good coffee
We enjoyed breakfast on a sunny Queenstown morning, where the Boatshed was a perfect spot to be. Coffees arrived promptly and my French Toast not only looked beautiful but tasted delicious. My dining companion enjoyed his eggs bene too.
I thoroughly recommend this cafe and look forward to a return visit to try some of the other menu items.
A.
A bit pricey but prolly worth a stop if you're walking or cycling the Frankton-Qtown Trail.
S.
Excellent food (poached eggs with belly pork and seafood chowder), nice environment and quick service. Thanks Boatshed!
T.
Lovely cafe, great coffee and delicious food! A great little find down on the lake by the jetty! Breakfast and coffee delicious. Thank you. We will be back! Chia and fruit to die for and eggs and chorizo delicious. Great service too! Well done.
R.
The chorizo breakfast is very tasteful and the blueberry french toast was amazing.
E.
Went for breakfast using the first table discount - amazing food with fantastic views. Would go back again.
T.
Small cafe lake-side is a good place for breakfast and brunch. Popular with locals and tourists. Service which is very welcoming can be slow when busy.
R.
Wonderful family experience today at The Boastshed. I have coeliac disease, and can't have dairy, and our waitress Patricia made dining here an absolute ease. Her level of knowledge was just fantastic - she knew exactly what coeliac disease was and what my options were, even as far as knowing their usual brand of soy milk was gluten free! All of our party of 6 thoroughly enjoyed their food. Thankyou so much for a wonderful experience!
C.
This cafe is by the Lake Wakatipu n it’s nice having your breakfast by the lake n it opens pretty early at 8.
J.
Gorgeous location and food. Super quick service
H.
Fabulous freshly baked muffins and scones Great coffee
W.
Excellent food here, with the best mimosas!
M.
Amazing brunch in Queenstown with majestic views
Friendly waiter and waitress
Clean washroom too
K.
My favorite cafe beautiful day sitting outside food was yummy
G.
Great coffee! And awesome breakfast, big portions and full of flavor. We ordered French toast and Roasted veggies with poached eggs.
D.
Waterfront location. Delicious food. Casual friendly service. A great find.
S.
Great coffee with latte art and beautifully presented meals
L.
This place is beyond delicious!! It gets busy but they’re pretty quick so the tables change quick. Everything is absolutely amazing and the staff is fantastic. We come back every time we’re in Queenstown.
m.
Lovely place right on the lake. I had a tasty chai tea (pictured before I poured) which is similar to what a chai latte is in Melbourne, AUS. I also ate a delicious smashed avo, but was too excited to eat it to take a picture.
C.
Great food and views of the mountains
S.
Great service, food and wine list. Views from outside and inside.
N.
Nice food!!!
Busy cafe though and the staff get stressed and it shows, so be patient because they're working hard. Use the nearby pay'n display carpark and book if you're able. Will definitely go back next time I'm in town.
R.
Top breakfast. Seriously one of the nicest I have ever had. Busy place with great views of the lake. Good coffee and also great scones. If you are in Queenstown, don’t leave this off your itinerary.
A.
Great location! Great food! Service was a little slow but they were busy so it's fine.
G.
Food is crazy good. Coffees are really nice. Table service could improve in my opinion, but it's overall a great place for breakfasts with friends or family
I.
The Boatshed Cafe has excellent views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The coffee and food was fantastic. The menu was more than typical choices in usual cafes with either a spin on standard items or just different menu items. The kids menu was also excellent. The staff were friendly and service was fast.
b.
This is an amazing place. The lamb shank was perfect(meat fell off the bone) and the beer battered cod was beautiful. Was busy and only seats were outside, but was worth it. Good coffee and hot chocolate too.
A.
Good coffee and magnificent view , I really love it
K.
Great hidden gem on the Queenstown Trial! Sit out on the back deck for amazing views of the Remarkables Mountain range whilst enjoying fantastic food and drink.
v.
I really love my brunch greens , really loved staff , will come back son !
M.
Best Seafood chowder. Out furniture needs attention.
E.
The staff here are wonderful! They are extremely friendly and accommodating. Delicious food too. I would definitely recommend a visit.
S.
Really great brunches, incredible views and super friendly staff.
J.
Beautiful food and great place to stop on the cycle track from Frankton to Queenstown
P.
Served by sulky Sue, however food and coffee was a good as always 😋.
E.
The view from the deck is gearT! Basically right on the water and in a nice garden. Worth checking out. I went pretty basic and got avo toast with haloumi, but the bread really was quite good and the coffee was good. If I had to find one complaint they were pretty busy and service was a little hit and moss, but all in I was very happy.
G.
Great coffee, scones and service by the lakes edge. Recommended.
S.
This business is in a picturesque location and has a warm welcoming ambience. Service is attentive and brisk. However, the food here is its downfall with ingredients appearing to be largely procured from supermarket frozen section and over cooked. My buttermilk waffle with fried chicken dish had tough grocery store waffles and deep fried chicken schnitzel plus slice of tin pineapple. I wouldn’t really classify it as tasty. The coffee is also mediocre.
a.
Good .
Had a classic eggs on toast, with grilled halloumi and mushrooms.
Good food, coffee and service .
M.
Nice spot, around 55 box for all 😜
W.
Amazing skills in preparing dishes and friendly service.
A.
Great little spot to run to if you are staying in Queenstown. The restaurant is right on the water and has a great sunroom and open patio for the warmer days. Coffee is excellent and you can grab and go or stay for a great brunch. The place is intimate with a mix of locals and tourists. We had the avo smash with a poached egg, rocket salad and the asparagus soup was special!
A.
Great food, super location!
S.
Good food! Fair prices, lovely staff.
K.
Delicious chocolate milkshake and ice coffee! Perfect place to run/walk or ride to from Queenstown.
R.
Food was so good, we loved it
K.
Even prior to Covid-19 they had the best food, friendliest staff, the most awesome view and a real awareness of keeping the client happy. I couldn’t recommend them more.
We are now heading into new territory with the different levels of Covid-19 coming through and despite having to adapt they still have the best food, friendliest staff, and a real awareness of keeping the client happy. This company is at the top of their game.
T.
Gorgeous setting right on the lake with a great outdoor deck to soak up the views while enjoying delicious eggs Benedict washed down with a bloody mary
A.
Fantastic flat white and eggs benedict. Very nice location in addition to that.
L.
The best cafe in queenstown!!! They have the most amazing GF brownies. I love their oat milk mochas as well. Their egg rancheros breakfast is to die for.
Such friendly staff and such a cozy setting. They have a fire place in the front, and the back overlooks the big lake. They also have an extra room that looks into the ‘boat shed’ where they have neat stuff to look at. its a really cool hangout spot! Totally recommend
b.
This is a little locals spot that has a real wow factor located outside of the downtown Queenstown area. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the Remarkable mountains while having some of the best coffee in town. The food and service here are also amongst some of the best I've had in town looking forward to my next visit.
P.
I really enjoyed this location and the staff were all very fun and friendly! The coffee was a little burnt and far too hot for me to drink. Breakfast was lovely and the scrolls were as good as they all say. Really could not complain. Service was fast and again very knowledgeable. A good spot for breakfast, mind your toung on the coffee 😜 A+
H.
Lovely food and a beautiful setting. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is due to the poor service we experienced. The waitress seemed more interested in talking to a girl at another table than taking our order or getting us fresh water.
O.
The location of the place is brilliant. Specially the outdoor tables during the summer. The food is yummy but a bit expensive for the size of the portions. A medium sized brunch is around $ 20-25. But if you enjoy nice locations the place really worth it! 😊
G.
What could be better than this cafe/restaurant... contemporary quisine.... reasonable prices.... friendly staff and just the most incredible views of mountain & lake. Fabulous little place.
A.
The breakfast we had was great and tasty. The only issue we had was the Chorizo was very hard and chewy, not eatable. Location and service is good and price of dishes is apt.
A.
My husband and I just had a delicious meal delivered to our door, what a treat! So well priced, beautifully packaged and really friendly delivery service. Well done and thank you team
C.
Great breakfast and coffee with a stunning view. Eggs on toast and avo on toast delicious. Yummy bread. Hubby had eggs benedict and full breakfast. Friendly staff.
D.
We stopped here while riding on the bike path. Fantastic view and especially cool when the planes come by. The service was really friendly and the coffee was good. All up we had a great experience.

Delightful experience from my visit today to the boat shed. From my experience in Queenstown because of the work force constantly changing I feel that the level of customer service has not been the best at locations, but though the staff at the boat shed were non-kiwis they were absolutely delightful. Right amount banter as well helping us with the table. It was a windy day hence we could not get seating outside and it was busy, they offer reservations so suggest to call up and reserve. I can imagine the location to be fabulous on a sunny day. The food itself was spot on taste wise and cooking wise, standard brunch size for the price I feel (though I was treated by someone else today). Coffee for me was perfect for my standard soy flat white. Look feel is perfect also and they have not really over done it which I enjoy.
C.
Great food, great staff, amazing location and so warm. The portion sizes are generous too. Overall good experience.
R.
Great view. Good coffee and food. Good pricing too. Very impressed how they dealt with a mix up in our order. While a cafe environment, a great romantic spot. Highly recommended.
S.
Great location and layout. Nice helpful staff.
Good menu choice. I like spicy chai latte, but not this. It was lukewarm in a glass with only a tiny bit of froth. At $5 could be better. Will choose tea next time.
D.
Gentle walk along lakeside from Queenstown, we stopped here for a coffee and cake. A quiet view across the water to the hills. Good coffee and the muffin with cream and marmalade was tasty. A little mishap was handled by the waitress very professionally and made us warm to the business even more.
M.
A marvellous view by the lake side. I have only had a latte and avocado and cherry tomatoes on toast, but I enjoyed it so much I went back and had them again a couple of days later. Lovely staff
L.
OMG this place has the most fantastic food! I have never tasted such good ciabatta in my life! The drinks and coffee really good as well. They've had construction going on around the cafe for 2 years, and the customers have still kept coming. So that really says something. This is on Sugar Lane, and you just drive around to the right. Definitely worth the trip and only about 6 minutes from the centre of Queenstown. You could go on the way to and from the airport as well
M.
The food is absolutely amazing. The service outstanding. Everything is home made with best fresh organic ingredients. They even have almond milk instead of the long outdated soy milk. The date scones are to die for and the view... oh the view is just that it can't get any better. Go there if you are in Queenstown. I promise you will LOVE IT.
P.
Excellent coffee and scone after walk from Queenstown along the lake track. Unfortunately the coffee took 30 minutes to reach us despite asking twice where they were! They just apologised and said they were real busy which they were but no excuse. Been in as busy cafes and the service was slick
E.
I just had breakfast there. OMG. If I had known about this place before I would have come every day of my holiday. The coffee was ambrosia - and I'm talking decaf, Eggs Benedict divine, wait staff friendly, relaxed and working as a team. And then there's the view. You guys rock!!!!!
D.
Fabulous food which was beautifully presented. Gorgeous location right by the water. Yummy coffee (and I am pretty picky). Easy parking (or beautiful walk). And to top it off, really friendly, yet unobtrusive service. Highly recommend. (We used a bookme deal too, so amazingly good value meal on that)
F.
Lovely old shed with its history on the walls. Now a super little cafe.I had the pulled pork with eggs benny. Fantastic combination of falvours. Service was promit and friendly. They did forget to clear the plates after finishing as we had splashed out on a glass of bubbles and were enjoying it,while digesting a very good Breckfast. Recommend to go for Breckfast. 😊
H.
Lovely restored rescued building. Food looked good as well. We had only stopped for a drink. We sat in the garden. There was also a terrace right on the lake side.
D.
One of my favourite cafes in the Queenstown area. It's a historical building from old railway days and right next to the lake. As a restaurant it is a bit pricey when taking a family.
D.
Really good cafe. Love the location and place just has a really great feelnon a summer day. Staff was super friendly and the food was great (particularly the salmon).
D.
Great little gem on the water. Bit tricky to get to, as there is construction underway, and doesn't feel like theres going to be cafe at the end of the road. Just keep driving towards the Scouts building and you'll find it.
Food was great!! As was the coffee.
L.
The seafood chowder is very good!
C.
Great service, super communicative while they were very busy. Also really coeliac aware, i only had to mention i was coeliac and they reassured me they would limit cross contamination.
Food was great, portions are also very generous. We’ll be back.
L.
Great spot with nice food. Also found the history really interesting
A.
Excellent brunch/lunch time spot overlooking the lake.
One of the finest Brownies I've ever had and wonderful service all around.
Thank you
J.
Absolutely delicious breakfast
A.
Probably the best brunch in Queenstown.
Amazing view on the lake, and absolutely delicious food. Special highlight for the French Toast.
K.
Great opening hours for brekkie! Lovely and very tasty food...and out of the way of mainstream queenstown. Great service Lovely n quaint.
S.
Great location. Staff can't do enough for you. Will certainly be going there again and again. One of the problems I find around the area that your clothes smell after visiting the establishment. It's not the case with the boat shed.
D.
Coffee so slow to come out when not particularly busy. The problem with hiring backpackers and not hospitality peeps. Service lets this place down. It could be good, but right now only 3 stars.
R.
Great coffee, delicious seafood chowder and exceptional service. Worth booking a table in advance as very popular.
A.
Fantastic lake view cafe. Warm and cosy place. Great food!
J.
Great coffee, food and service! We go basically each morning we are in Queenstown!
M.
Great location with a perfect view. Staff were very friendly and the food was very tasty. Great coffee and we can recommend the smoothies
S.
We had the Eggs Benny and the grilled meat, with coffee. Absolutely delicious, and the Asian twist on the eggs Benedict was fantastic. Views were amazing and staff were lovely.
K.
It's a little hard to find, but worth the effort. If you get there before 9 am, the early bird special includes 2 eggs, ciabatta and a tea or coffee for $12.5. A bargain for a great breakfast with a gorgeous view.
L.
The chia breaky with roasted pineapple is to die for! Sooooo good! Staff are awesome! Great spot to settle in for a bite and views of the remarkables
R.
Top menu, quick service and beautiful food. 10/10 my fav place in QTN🙌
A.
One of the best places for lunch or breakfast in Queenstown. They also do dinner and live music on Saturday nights. Excellent food and the best aspect in town. A little pricey but to be honest you won't regret the money.
H.
Love the boat shed. Great healthy food, great coffee. Busy though. Well worth a cycle in from town. Could even make an afternoon of it and visit altitude brewery
M.
Nice friendly staff, beautiful views, delicious food. A bit pricey for us but it was good. Had the clam & mussel dish and pulled pork eggs benedict.

C.
Great place to stop for a coffee. Super friendly service. One day we got there 2 minutes before closure. They served us coffee let us hang out on their deck for another 30ish minutes, while prepping for a private party.
R.

This place is a hidden gem, the food was great and so was the coffee. The only thing I can think of that could be improved is that the coffee could have been hotter.
