H.It was a bit slow to get the ball rolling but once they started it was interesting the options that were like all you can eat , picking the sizes, halving up the toppings which was great $7 drinks all you can drink eg: coke, ginger ale , raspberry amd lemonade ( you needed to choose one favour) The pudding was a bit delayed but the waitress was very apologetic. Food very tasty,would most certainly return, the waitresses needed to being mindful though what is being said in front of your clients.
T.Really enjoyed my dinner here a few weeks ago when I was visiting Queenstown - my boyfriend seemed to enjoy his pizza as well. It was such a great vibe on a lovely warm summer night!

Original review: Amazing atmosphere, great place to have dinner and drinks! Funky interior and cute deck with braziers overlooking the street. Good service. We had discounts from the hostel we were staying at which was nice. Had a lovely time and great pizzas!
E.Cool space with opening roof. Pizza deals are great for groups. Had the refillable soda which is great value. I had the seafood pizza which was super tasty. Service is super. The cheesy loaf is recommended! So nice and soft.
T.Easily the best service I have ever encountered in the hospitality sector. Food was delicious. I had kids with me and the colouring in was brought out before the kids even sat down. So so happy we chose to come here.

f.Really nicely appointed place with a sense of history. There is something special about drinking/dining in such an old building like this - it used to be a cinema, now converted into something cross between a pub, bar and restaurant. I thought it was better during the day with fewer people around. We had the fireplace to ourselves and enjoyed a few beers while playing pool. Service is good. We only ordered chips and garlic bread, which were okay but not convincing enough to have lunch there, especially given the high prices (large pizzas were around $40)
R.Went in for all you can eat pizza. Pizza was really nice and full of flavour. Staff were great and friendly. If you are having pizza there Mon-Wed the AYCE option is the cheapest, but beware of the T&C's:
You have to finish a fries and loaf before your pizza comes out and if you want to take any away it's $2, per slice, not total!
Our server never mentioned the 'per slice' part so 5 small slices came back with a $10 on the box. We left it behind...
All in all. Great pizza but a few gotchas. :)
l.Grabbed the meat pizza (Luigi's) and seafood pizza (pescara) and garlic loaf. Loaf was delicious. Pizzas were ok, I don't know what's great about it, too much toppings on the luigis so should've grabbed the Americana. What would be great is if they offer different base thicknesses, since their breads are soo good maybe thicker dough would go well with that much toppings.
s.Truly iconic bar and pizzeria of queenstown. This place hasn't changed in years. Still same flavors and awesome decor. Totally love the ambiance. The pizzas are superb especially the tandoori and the lamb pizza. Good wine selection and great music. Totally fantastic and highly recommended !

Awesome atmosphere, great tasting pizza and a range large enough you likely find at least two you like. Finally, great beer available.
We did our rounds to the various pizza places in town and although some are cheaper, faster or more expensive, this place sat well with us.
Enjoy, I'm sure you wont be disappointed. We sat out on the deck 😄

It Goldilocks reviewed this place, the pizza size would be just right :) Amazing staff. Highly recommend the Americana Pizza with a Kiwi lager to wash down. Early dinning around 5.30pm/6pm is recommended. An inside booth is great for a family of 4, however grab a balcony table outside of available.

S.We went for lunch, the pizzas are great. I found the smallest 6 slice pizza was big enough for one person. The Mexican fiesta pizza had all the correct toppings (jalapeños and sour cream etc). The pizzas are not wood fired.

K.if you prefer a pizza loaded with toppings then winnies is for you. you can get small, medium and large sizes. the large size you can get half and half but they do charge and extra $3. recommend the mussels starter with bread.

J.Great pizza and beer. Pizzas are very well sized with the small being enough for most people. If you can get a spot on the deck it comes with views down into the lane. Can get rowdy with the bar later in the evening, so go early in the evening if you want a relaxed dining.

J.Winnes is two things. Pre 10PM, unreal pizza. Post 10PM, THE party joint in Queenstown but for the young crowd.
Pizza topping at most places these days is stingy. Not at Winnies. They load the pizzas up to a new level. And then put some "garnish" in the middle that could be an entree by itself. The hot wings are pretty bang-on as well. One large pizza and wings floored 3 of us who normally eat a lot.
If you're in your early 20s, this is one of the better places to party. I remember partying here 9 years ago and it's still exactly the same. By 1am, the floor turns into glue and the guys bathrooms are covered in piss. To be expected from this level of party though. At 30, we were on the older end of the crowd but it's still a bunch of fun.

H.Oh my goodness, our experience at Winnie's was just 10/10. Ziah (our waitress) was so professional and just an all round top human. She let us peruse the menu and said she'd come back when we made a decision. Less than 5 mins later she came back for our order, what a legend. Honestly couldn't ask for better service. Will be back and better yet, recommend to a friend.
K.Cool place, delicious pizza, but the service was a bit haphazard. Everyone was friendly and helpful, but it took quite a while to place the order, and then it was wrong. I would eat there again, for sure!
J.Awesome place! Almost always get the montanara pizza, it's one of the best pizzas in Queenstown! I'm not much into night life but it seems like a good place if that's what you're after.

C.We had a large vegetarian pizza here and that was a really delicious pizza. Place is slightly expensive though. Staff is extremely nice. Our first pizza had meat in it because of the mistake during placing the order as the menu wasn't clear. Staff replaced it and served us a fresh one without any extra charges. Hence I will give 5/6 to this place.
O.Had a great little lunch at Winnie's on our adventures today. Was great that there wasn't a huge line up and we got in easily with comfortable seating for my wife and I, as well as a high chair seat for our 10 month old.
Pizza was delicious as expected and even the pasta was quite good. There was a kids menu and coloring for the little ones and a very cool eclectic feel with road signs and old gas signs etc.
The roof hydraulically opens up giving an awesome open air feel and the service was great.
Awesome experience overall for a quick bite of lunch.

A.One of my friend show us Winnies when we were visiting Queenstown a long time ago and now this became one of the iconic places for us to dine during holidays. The atmosphere of family dinning as well as party mood mixed together. You can enjoy a glass of mulled wine next to the fireplaces... And the food, all of the items from the menu need to be tried at least once... and then come back for more... Staff is friendly and always able to accommodate you in everyway. I'm always going to come back here!!!

b.It's a okay pizza place better off with domino's in my personal opinion, service was good so three stars. Did find it rather unnerving that the table/floor moved whenever someone walked past especially with a couple of earthquakes in Queenstown recently wonder how much it would take for the whole place to come crashing down, having moved here from Christchurch I am painfully aware of the impact earthquakes can have on communities and the business that serve them. I feel a small shutdown to make this building safer would be in the best interests of the owners.
R.Nice relaxed environment, good casual dining, friendly service. Lots of filling on the pizza. Really good value for Queenstown...we just wanted a relaxed casual night after a hard day and it was a great place to unwind.

A.We have dined here twice in a large group of 12 with kids and have been accommodated very promptly by the friendly staff. We have particularly enjoyed the vast range of delicious pizzas and pastas, chicken wings, and good range of beers. It's a busy place but seems to flow very efficiently & has a nice atmosphere.
M.Loved this place. Pizzas were so good. The sizes are good and I can actually finish a small pizza. The Oreo milkshakes are delicious as well. Will definitely be back next time we visit Queenstown.

P.Came here tonight with my wife for dinner tonight.
Ordered the hot wings with the blue cheese dip. We got this as an entree and weren't given any side plates. We were stuck with sticky napkins until I had to ask a young lady for side plates. She happily ran and got them, however perhaps a finger bowl and extra napkins would have gone a long way (this is not the reason for a moderate rating as she was very friendly and perhaps hasn't been trained in that area). The wings as a whole were good; they are more nibbles than wings, but they tasted good. The dip was pretty spot on as well. No complains on the dish.
The pizza - they allow you to do a 50/50 on the large pizza so we ordered a Tandoori Chicken and Luigi's Italian. The Luigi's pizza was great. However, little dissapointed with the Tandoori as you would expect it to out weight Luigi's pizza in terms of spices. The chicken was not "tandoori chicken", it was far from even being marinated.
This place was highly recommend to us by family and friends so we did have high hopes. That being said, I would probably still come back due to the vibe here. And the friendly staff!

M.Extended family was on holiday in Queenstown for 10 days and we are here at least 3 times during our stay. We kept coming back for the pepperoni pizza but other family members liked their pastas, particularly the carbonara. Good local beers on tap.
Was not easy getting the pram up a flight of stairs each time, but after you're up there they had plenty of highchairs, kids menus and crayons. Seating around the fireplace was cozy and it was never too loud despite the large bar and billiards nearby. It was a good place to recharge after the day's fun.
G.Greta pizza! We had the Tri Factor. It came pretty fast and the beer was nice. The knifes were really bad so I switched to good old hands! Also I think it's a liiiittle bit overpriced. But overall, recommend!

B.Great pizza but Winnie's is very busy! You can't book in advance, so if you are going for dinner, try going earlier (e.g 5 or 6), to avoid a long wait for a table. Winnie's has a nice casual atmosphere and I would definitely eat here again.
G.A tasty pizza bar with surprisingly good food, a warm welcoming atmosphere and lots of buz. I actually had the sweet potato salad and it was delish! It is good for families but there is also a bar side. The toilets could use a serious renovation as they seem to jave suffered from the treatment of the bar patrons.

s.Overpriced pizza. Don't be fooled by the $12 lunch deal. It only applies to one type of small pizza which is only explained once you are seated. On the plus side, the quality is OK and staff are friendly.
A.The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. We split the spaghetti carbonara and they put it in two separate bowls for us. It was delicious! Up there with the quality of some of the carbonara I had in Italy!
C.I live in Germany and visited this place ten years ago while studying abroad in NZ and I was just telling my boyfriend about the best pizza I have ever had!!! When I will ever come to NZ again in my life, I will definitely visit the "Winnies" again and enjoy one of the best pizzas in the world!!!

M.Winnies hold true to its commitment of gourmet pizzas! They are very different tha anything you have ever had, and addictively tasty too.
Montanara, their best, is served with pistachio sour cream on it which cuta through the mild sweetness of its sweet chilli sauce base. Also the base is not too thin unlike most gourmet pizza places.
All breads are freshly baked, very soft!
Try cheesy garlic bread loaf and mac & cheese croquettes to go back to the comfort of pajamas and home.

R.Every time I visit Queenstown, a pizza at Winnies is a MUST. Great southern pub with amazing wood-fired pizzas, friendly staff and a fantastic vibe. If the weather is dry, keep an eye on the roof while you're there- it's got a special trick!
