Excellent service. Friendly and welcoming wait staff. Comfortable indoor seating at tables and booths. Good selection of beers including some great local craft beers. Food was good with a few of the usual favorites on offer. Good range of pizzas. Plenty of off-street parking.

The Blue cod was absolutely delicious, my husband loved it, best he’s had in years. Awesome restaurant/bar with a friendly atmosphere. Family-friendly and great value for money. They have specials for each day of fhe week and very accommodating for those with dietary requirements. We've frequented this place a few times and always found the experience great. Plenty of onsite parking.

Great friendly pub restaurant the food was amazing it was flavorful large portions and well presented we had a table of 12 and all our food was correct and came out all together great job kitchen maestro and your awesome staff the waitresses worked hard and were a wee bit lost but you were trying and you'll get there girls so well done. Definitely a place to check out before you hit the more expensive establishments in Rangiora

Quite good overall. We waited almost one hour for our food and with no current liquor licence we just sat there waiting and drinking juice. When my hamburger arrived it was cold. The bun and filling was straight from the fridge which made the steak cold very quickly. The others in our group had lovely meals and shared with me after I ditched the cold burger. We are going again this week so hope it is better this time. Update returned there this week and were served quickly and the food was lovely. The leek and potato soup with bacon was a great and the roast meats were juicy and well cooked. The steamed fruit pudding was terrible hard brick not edible but all the other desserts were delicious.

We visited here tonight as walk ins.Both of us had the T Bone steak,both were cooked to perfection.The salad was fresh,eggs cooked just right and sauces to die for.The wait staff were very welcoming and friendly.We will be back!

Went to watch the rugby, stayed for a meal. The food was very very good. The garlic prawns with rice were soooo tasty and the boys enjoyed the mussels. We stayed for a couple of songs from the Band Mama Rocks and if we would have stayed longer if we had not had somewhere else to be. They were good.

Really nice lunch today. Lovely service from the young lady at 3.20pm. Lunch menu had finished 20 minutes before we arrived, however the Chef kindly said it was fine for us to still order. That's what I call hospitality. We left happy and full up. Recommended for sure. Thanks...........

Ribs were great, falling off the bone, finger licking hoisen sauce (from a bottle). Don't order the $27 tiger prawn, you will get six normal prawns and a tease of a salad, more like a starter. Tiny hard avocado pieces on top?! Lesson- Put unripe avocado's in the oven for 10mins and let cool. Estimate $4 cost of my meal. Boss needs to look at value for money from patrons point of view not his wallet.

Food and drink has always been a great thing only thing I was upset with was the fact that I booked a table of 14 for a birthday joint and was expected to sit at 2 seperate tables. We were a group of 14 not an 8 and a 6. Pushed the two tables together as we were a group dining as a whole and had to try for 14 for a table normally for 12 until the waitress whom was standing there watching us struggle asked if we wanted another chair. Would’ve been a lot less hassle if the table was set for 14 as originally booked for.

Was an ok dinner, great pub/restaurant but really ruined the experience with poor customer service from the waitresses, we had to keep going up asking for particular condiments and we even had to ask for our fries that they had missed, meal was great, ribs were dry and it was like they just poured barbecue sauce all over it, nachos had a lot of cheese and corn chips as we had to sparingly share the mince on the chips because we would've just ended up eating corn chips and cheese, salad was oily and could only taste mint and oil, chicken wings were stated to have secret coating on them but tasted more bland than my partners secret coating, needing more love and thought into their meals

the brook bar is under new management.we hada delightful sunday roast there 2 days ago . the atmosphere is a huge improvement with the recent redesign warm and not too noisy despite many t v monitors .the roast was first class , everything cooked with care and attention to detail .several vegetables all presented beautifully . staff very attentive and mine host malcolm interacted positively with his customers drinks prices pretty much the same as everywhere else but ask about the sunday special a free tap beer or house wine with each roast . i hope that special continues as it will surely bring all of us back try the new brook its well worth a look jack and joy morris
