Had mum's birthday dinner there today. Very friendly staff 👍🏻 Food is yummy. Feedback from my kids, "Mummy, I want to come here everyday" 😄. Thank you for the great dinning experience!

My partner and I turned up very late for dinner and reassured staff that we would order and eat quickly. We were seated and ordered quickly as agreed, the staff were professional and friendly and the food was prompt and delicious! Would definitely recommend Smoke for a good night out. First time at Smoke!!!! Came for lunch. Amazing service, polite service from the staff. Pricing reasonable and competitive. Quality of food amazing. BBQ chicken wings - just delicious. Hot and plenty of sauce. Prime Angus Ribeye - medium rare and spot on. Garlic sauce tasted as it should. Mushroom sauce rich and with depth of flavour. A great little salad on the side that was refreshing in-between bites of the steak to truly appreciate the amazing flavors of the meal. Less than 15mins from ordering to entree. Main was delivered 5 minutes after finishing entree. We were offered dessert but had to decline no room to fit it in. Atmosphere good music appropriate and in the background which didn't over power the table conversation. Table prep well done. Everything cleaned down after use. Value for money, plenty of food. Great restaurant. I don't often offer 5 stars but this is well worth it. Consider a reservation so you won't be disappointed.

The platter for 2 was perfect for my wife and I. Not a big fan of having sauces added to the top of things before it's served though. No need for a starter unless you are a big meat eater.

Absolutely fabulous food. I was also very happy the lovely staff could sort out a special meal for my mum who is recovering from surgery. Highly impressed and will definitely be back again and will recommend to all of my friends!

Lovely Place, really comfortable atmosphere and acoustics, with the number of people, you don't feel like you need to shout with the noise. The Cocktails and Food, from Entree's to dessert were top notch. Our Waitress who was on a double shift due to Covid was absolutely stunning in her Service, and deserved a tip for what seemed like a long day for her! Only thing I would consider (and it is pretty insignificant really) was the mashed potatoes, to invest in a Moulin if you have not for initial preparation for your dinner service, that or reheating throughout, as they were a tad hard and lumpy, otherwise, they still tasted great! Salmon - well seared. :-) Will be back! Thanks!

We ordered the platter with pork, beef and chicken plus tortilla to shere. Everything on the plate was great especially the chicken had goood smoky flavor... One thing I want add was tortilla plate has three piece of tortillas. We wish to have even number so my nice husband wouldn't have to give me one ;) The service was great. Nice and friendly.

3 of us had dinner last Friday evening Parking; Out back there is ample parking space, but it was raining and there was no rear entrance so we had to get a little wet walking from the carpark to the restaurant Location; The signage is inadequate I googled and that sent me five minutes up the road away from the restaurant Fortunately I knew the vacinity of where it should have been so I drove up and down the street a few times before i finally noticed the small (not obvious) sign to the restaurant Booking; I booked online very easily, and the restaurant were ready for our small party once we arrived. On the booking I had flagged the meal was for a birthday dinner but this was not acknowledged at all during the dinner so don't know why it is an option they have when booking The restaurant; Was family orientated, clean, well decorated with their theme and up market The staff; They were very friendly and attentive They allowed me to change tables when I asked and also brought me more napkins when i asked They accommodated our request to have entree at the same time as mains Top marks for the staff, give them all a pay rise, front and back house staff! The atmosphere; The restaurant lighting was minimal and we all commented to each other that we couldn't see very well I think this was because there are large windows along the entire entrance wall spanning the width of the room that glares from the daylight They should be tinted to reduce the glare and make the indoor outdoor transition easier on the eyes The food; Very nicely cooked and timely, fresh mostly The menu offered was enough variety for us all to each try something different and share tasters We ordered; > The buffalo wings entree (6 inconsistent sized wings) Unfortunately these were dry, over cooked and chewy The buffalo sauce on the wings was nice though, along with the side sauce > The salmon main The cook on the good sized salmon fillet was perfect, not oily and full of flavor The accompanying salad complimented the salmon well > The smashed burger Huge bun and the yummy creamy mushrooms, bacon and chicken flavor was very satisfying The cup of fries were a nice touch but pretty average > The prawns main Around 6 or 8 king prawns (i think) and these were also beautifully cooked The salad and rice where also tasty and refreshing Not really sure what the burnt lemon slices were for but there were only 2 thin slices I squeezed it over everything yet I felt the dish was still a little dry > The water Was warm and tasted like it just came out of the tap We requested a glass full of ice so we could cool our drinks down Overall; I'm generally happy and would go back, but only really to try the dishes we hadn't had that night. I certainly wouldn't order/pay for those buffalo wings again I would be more prepared of what I would order of there is a next time, as I think the prices for each dish are a couple dollars dearer than they are worth There's my 2 cents worth Thank you Get Outlook for Android

It's a little bit cramped for space. Always popular, so definitely have to make a booking. The food is great, with an excellent atmosphere. Staff are fantastic.

Had a great time. The food was great. We shared the beef ribs and platter for one. Great meats..We've eaten BBQ in Nashville Memphis and New Orleans and your BBQ was up there. I liked the jerk chicken esp and the ribs fell off the bone. Staff very friendly. We'll be back.

Highly recommend Smoke! We had our staff Christmas function here, there was 34 of us and we had the buffet. There was no issue with waiting for meals or drinks. The food was devine and plenty of it. The staff were attentive and polite. The restaurant manager was amazing to deal with. We had several phone conversations the week prior to confirm what meals we wanted and to discuss the new covid regulations that were coming in the night prior to the party. He even managed to source the owners favorite Rum which is very hard to find. Well done team and thank you for a lovely evening.

Good if you don't have any dietary restrictions. Limited menu if you do - despite the online and physical menu saying they do cater, you'll find upon ordering that they in fact do not - or can't be bothered one or the other

This place is unreal! We have been here 4 times since it opened and it has never disappointed. The ribs are by far the best we have ever had. Great friendly customer service, meals come out quickly and you leave full and satisfied. What more could you want!

Staff came took our drink order and never came back to take food order and started taking order from table who arrived after us so had to ask her to take our order after 20 mins. I heard so much about the briskets so ordered brisket platter seemed pretty blend to my liking. May be because I was expecting as tasty as Smokey T's.

Quantity of food provided was spot on. I'm no food critic, so was my first time.. the lighting where we were eating didn't do the food any favor. I think mustard was used in the seasonings it had a plastic taste to it. Next time I dine here will be in daylight so I can see the colours of the meet. Salad was nice as well. Awesome interior with much attention to detail. The staff were so friendly and attentive. We tried the meat platter (brisket and sausage) and the ribs. The meat was delicious and very tender, proportions were large and the chips on point. And they added the best pickle I have ever eaten on the side. For my taste the meat dishes could have a bit more flavor, but not sure how to achieve this. Maybe a bit more flavor in the sauces? But I guess it is a fine line between adding very flavor some sauce and not covering the good quality real meat taste.

A little on the pricy side but meat that good takes a lot of work! Would be perfect with some decent craft beer on tap... Pan Head is better than nothing though. Well done we will be back! The inside of the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing. Well worth the money.

I've been twice, first time was great, brisket was good and didn't have a heavy overpowering smokey flavor, 5 stars for food and service that night 2nd time.. oh boy, 1 star.. I had the Canterbury Beef Fillet and although it was cooked to my request it was tasteless and lacked any richness, absolute poor offering. 3 star average is fair based on 2 visits. Would I go back, of course.

Went there 26 May 2021 in a group of 11. The service was very good and fast especially considering how busy it was. We had a couple of messed up drinks orders but nothing to bad (it was busy) I ordered the platter with beef brisket and chicken. The brisket looked nice but was very wet? and was like cutting a steak most definitely didn't fall apart, i usually expect smoked brisket to be less wet and for the meat to just fall apart. It also tasted very fatty. I have ordered and had smoked beef brisket from many others places and from friends with home smokers which didn't come out like this. So maybe its just be and maybe its just how this place likes to cook it, but the man i talked to about it seemed to think that's how its supposed to be. I did tell the person taking payment t the end of the night but i feel like that fell on deaf ears. Another thing to note is when you order chicken it comes with bones in, a couple of us really didn't expect that and while its not a deal breaker for me if i had known i certainty wouldn't have ordered it. Others ordered the salmon, burgers, and steaks and they all really enjoyed there meal. The mac and cheese balls looked great as well Another thing to note was the paper matt they put on the trays under your platter it just pointless if the meat is going to be wet and hard to cut as all that happens is the paper ends up getting all mashed up into your brisket while your cutting it. Over all it was a good experience, maybe ill get the burger next time.

Impossible not to compare with Smokey-T's. Their pork is at least as good but the brisket has a bit to go. Smoke is restaurant style - I personally prefer the sharing platters like Smokey-T's. Smoke is a great alternative if you don't like things too casual - or there is a vegetarian in your party.

What a Brillant Restaurant for Rolleston. The Entrées and the Mains meals were delicious and the table service was extremely overwhelming. First time and with a table of 8 we all throughly enjoyed it. We will be back. Keep it up.

Meals are small didn't think they good value for money compared to other similar restaurants. The service was very slow to the point we left and didn't order dessert. Although scored a 3/5 stars this is more like a 2.5. Will need a big improvement before I would recommend. Overall very disappointed as had high expectations
