Excellent food choice at a reasonable price. Food was constantly bring refilled so there was always extra choices. Will definitely eat here again.

Gengy’s is a good place to have a buffet in the holiday season. Staff are very friendly, foods are tasty. There are variety meats to choose, enough snacks and ice creams.

Rotorua ,Very nice selection of meat & Veges & I liked choosing my own food combos.. Very friendly staff. I loved the pancake & ice cream to finish it off

Super friendly staff compared to all other restaurants in New Zealand. They welcome you very well and have very good manners. The food is amazing and drinks are great too.

Love that you can choose your food and watch it being cooked. However not impressed that we had chosen seats away from people, but was then asked to sit at a certain table. They definitely did not follow the two meter or one meter rule. It was barely half a meter a way from all tables we were in close proximity on all 4 sides. Not impressed with that. Other than that great option of food and good for the children to have and pick their own too.

Variety of food in the buffet for dinner, although I wish there was more variety at the dessert table. We loved the stir fry options also.

Great place for the family. A unique eating experience where you can select your raw ingredients and then hand it to one of the chefs who will then expertly cook it for you. A basic knowledge of Asian cooking oils and sauces is required when adding it to your raw ingredients is essential. Excellent Asian dining.

Had my grand daughters birthday there and assistance was excellent,food beautiful will do it again

For our last week in Rotorua we selected the Gengy's Restaurant,we have no regrets cause the buffet was magnificent, excellent and we ate well,it was a family and friends time, the pancakes were excellent.. I recommend this restaurant and I give 5 Stars so much was good and the staff were very friendly, thanks again

Very enjoyable and accommodating we were able to take our own birthday cake in and only paid $1 for the 18year old birthday boy.

Great place to grab a bowl choose your food, then it is cooked on a huge BBQ. Plenty of Prawns etc. So Yum!

Best place for a great meal 👌 being able to choose from a selection of meats, vegetables, sauces and salts, make your own salad and pancakes and ice cream for dessert is fabulous!! Clean and tidy facilities, great customer service and fair prices. Highly recommended.

Great food selection, option of soups and even ice creams as dessert with various toppings. The people who cooks are fast to attend to me when I go over with my bowl of food. The drinks are pretty good too. I got a cocktail.

Always so good! Lovely atmosphere and great service. The options available cater to everyone and watching the chefs cook your choice of stirfy the open flame bbq pit is fun and exciting. Awesome place for a great night out at a great affordable price. 100% Recommended!!

Create your own healthy meal and watch it be cooked right in front of you so devine delicious. Staff is very friendly, have a lot of patients with children's are allow birthdays and big family's.

Pretty expensive per adult at $35 each! But was still a nice dinner out with the family to end off the night. Definately better then Valentine's.

It was good mostly the variety of foods was a lot, meats veggies very good and lots of it clean seating and area. Side dishes was a lot too but some desert stuff were in the side dishes area, kinda mixed. Drinks a little expensive deserts kinda shy not as much choices Hot and aircon wasn't working the area we were out on fault, so the lady who served us who was very nice lowered the blinds for us. All and all it was good :)

Okay in part. Drinks were cheaper than other establishments, family oriented nd friendly all round. But.... The tongs were dropped into the food so that the next person had to stick there hand in and touch the food to retrieve the tongs, was a put off. Not gengys fault entirely, however, perhaps if they had someplace else for the tongs to be managed, instead of having them standing inside the food container, this may discourage thoughtless ignorant people from dropping the tongs into the food.

Delicious and very quick service. They took a very short while to find our booking and were very accommodating. The food was great and watching the chefs cooking our meals was a 'wow' experience. Very cheap too. Awesome experience. I'm sure we will book again in the not too distant future.

Such a great place to go for dinner, caters for many different food preferences. Very family friendly. It's our first choice for a buffet.

Staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a group of 13 people who arrived late in Rotorua, no booking but were fortunate enough to get a spot inside. Food was great, variety of meat, veges, hot food, salads and seafood. By the looks of places in town, this spot is very popular.

Love that we were able to create our own food and have it cooked in front of us. Chefs were amazing and wait staff were very prompt with clearing tables and help as required. Would certainly go back another time.

I really enjoyed my dinner there! My meal was excellent! The seafood chowder was soooo yummy! The chefs work hard and fast on the grill. The servers are always smiling and fast as well. I really enjoyed my pancake with ice cream, caramel, maple syrup, whipped cream and nuts!!! I would definitively go back there😊

Went in rather late thinking we would have to rush through our meals but we're told by staff members to take our time and that we shouldn't hurry on that note had a great experience awesome service and a delicious abundance of food. Thank you so much was amazing from start to finish.

It's always worth it going to Gengy's for a kai you get your money's worth it an more. Awesome place for whanau gatherings, birthdays or just for a get together with friends.

Words escape me. This place is the bomb. Easily one of my favourite places to visit when in the area. Great selections of meat and vegetables, great selection of drinks, and also fantastic pancakes. If you're into all you can eat places, this name should be your best friend.

grate place to bring the family big tables for the big whano, and you get to make your own meal, they cook it right in front of you. good healthy food nice pudding.

Food was good, basic buffet stuff with a twist. Toilets were quite disgusting ( pet peeve of mine) its such a bad reflection on a restaurant to have a dirty bathrooms. If this what you let me see then how bad is what you don't let me see.

I was told by a local that Gengys is an awesome place to go & I'm so glad that I came here! We went on Saturday night. There service was good, so many meats & ingredients. They had 4 people cooking all the food up. They have a salad bar with sushi, salads & sauces. Another stand with hot foods like chips, chicken & spring rolls. They also had 2 soups with buns. If that wasn't enough they had fresh cooked pancakes, waffle cones, ice creams, sauces, whipped, cream & nuts. There food was amazing, there was nothing that I could fault! The pancakes were delicious 😋 There service was good aswell taking our plates away & bringing us more water when we ran out. Cannot wait to return definelty a favourite 😄

I wish we had a Gengy's in Australia! This might be one of my favourite places for dinner. I went to Gengy's on a Topdeck tour, and had loads of fun choosing my food and watching it get cooked. There is a huge variety of foods to choose from. I recall the price being quite reasonable for an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Had three serving in two hours... Very full. You can choose the ingredients (including sauces, oils and condiments) and give it to the chefs. They will stir fry all the ingredients in a Osage hot plate / griddle and they took turn to cook up the food 🍲 + serving it while it is still hot ♨... 😋. Yummy yummy and delicious! Chicken 🐓, pork 🐷 , beef 🐄 and lamb 🐑 + shrimps and calamari 🐙.. Marinated or not marinated. Also available are vegetables (not a lot but it doesn't matter). This is not a romantic place but just like any buffet style restaurants 🍴, you can't expect much more than a fine dining restaurants. Would I go back? Yes ☺

Great value for money.we had two that had birthdays but only one birthday person per table is $1.00.which is still wonderful.the sun started shining in the windows and the staff pulled curtains down half way.the chefs cooking the meals were amazing to watch.and we had a small glimpse of the staff at the back working very hard too.(great food.great staff.great price.)😊🤗👍

Best god damn resteraunt ever. 11/10 Would definitely recommend. Sick and tired of all the Gengys imitators so I went for the real deal here at gengys. #1 way to feul up after a long day of riding some trails but slight health concerns for the sweaty chefs slaving away over our food while the sweat drops from there foreheads and armpits. Suppose it all ads to the flavour tho so still give ya a fat 5 star right there.
