H. M.They say good things take time, my order took a little longer than the given wait time. When I got home and had dinner, we all raved about how delicious the fish & chips was! Best we've had in Rotorua (and Auckland for that matter!). The little elderly Asian couple were very jovial and pleasant as well as always professional with their customers. Aside from me, they knew everyone that walked through their doors. Store is aged somewhat but all the locals eat here.

B.Awesome I go there all the time. Forget Maccas. Large burger (any burger) combo, chips and drink $8. Fish and chips are the best too. A lovely couple, great service.

s.They have some lovely customer service which also goes pretty well with the food. The food can at times be just okay but it is never bad. Some days food will be perfect and exactly how you want it. Other times it can be a little too greasy. But overall pretty good

H. A.Decent quality fish freshly battered up front; unusual (and not convenient) that the entire flounder - bones and all - was cooked. Not like that for other fish. Mussels were nice. Vegetable oil only. Store itself is extremely basic. Has a 70's decor that is questionably clean and extremely dated. Kind of hard to tell in the fluorescent glare. Only decorations are a faded fish chart (helpful when deciphering Hoki from Others. Sells only soda.

I. V.Owhata Takeaways is a small and quite unkempt shop, but the hospitality of staff and the willingness to cut deals for sales is very interesting and inviting. This shop is a very rare example of excellent customer service and great kiwi culture.
