Reviews of Saigon '60s Vietnamese Cuisine
J.
Saigon 60s is the epitome of Vietnamese cuisine abroad. We tried the vegetarian noodle soup and the Vietnamese pancakes (both vegan dishes by the way) which were all incredibly delicious. The generous portion sizes are extremely filling and the casual atmosphere right in the heat of Rotorua provides a very comfortable environment to eat your meal. There were quite a few vegan options in addition to the ones I tried and I look forward to coming back to try more!

I had high expectations for this place given the reviews but was disappointed. The meat and noodle portion was tiny for its price (egg was extra $3, so this bowl was $20). Although the soup of their beef pho was good, it lacked an acidic element. The noodles had a weird scaly texture, I much prefer pho from try it out. FYI there is no customer toilet and the public toilets were annoyingly closed when I needed it.
P.
Great prices and variety of food. Service was friendly and quick. Food was delicious! Our medium pork roast meal was very filling.
G.
Delicious, wholesome Vietnamese food after a long day! I had the OG beef pho and their famous egg drip coffee. The Pho was great on it's own but there is the option to add your own chilli for a bit more spice, which I did. Both the Pho and the Coffee were wonderful. I left feeling very satisfied with my meal :)
D.
server/waitress not wearing mask.
Food: Udon texture was perfect. Stronger flavours than what we had last time. husband loves their salad with pork. I enjoyed the cold coffee
too and avocado smoothie.
K.
Strong bold flavours, quick service. I liked the egg coffee, but my partner thought it was gimmicky and not hot enough, she liked the traditional Vietnamese coffee. Pho was good, would be better with a wedge of lemon or lime and some fresh chilli's (they only gave chopped chilli). The BBQ pork rice was awesome, nicely caramelized and no smell. The sauce worked well with the dish. Lovely place. Will come eat here next time we are in Rotorua.
M.
I had the most thoroughly satisfying bowl of spicy lemongrass soup here. I had been craving that taste for a couple of years but everything I tried was bland until finally! They absolutely nailed it! Thank you, Saigon '60s! I will definitely be back!
A.
Whenever we are in Rotorua as a family with our children and grandchildren. We either have our dinner or lunch at this restaurant. We love their food, very yummy. Great service. Will always recommend this place.
T.
Very cool joint, food is very nice, and quiet different to the Viet food I normally see from Auckland. Shop is small but service is great and its bustling. Nice feeling to eat here, and needless to say the food was all very delicious. Plenty of street parking outside as well, and they also have free Wifi.
H.
Egg coffee is very nice, but too sugary. Highly recommend stir-fried noodles, very tasty! The staff are friendly and helpful.
L.
I had lunch on a Thursday and only two other tables of people already eating so not too busy. I ordered the pork spring rolls and beef Pho then walked over to the iSite (about two minute walk) to use the nearest toilets. Came back and waited about five minutes for my food to arrive so not too long to wait. The spring rolls were deliciously crunchy with a slight chew, tasty pork filling and amazingly well balanced dipping sauce and also a small fresh and crunchy salad. I loved the spring rolls. The beef Pho, I give 7/10. The broth tasted nice with all the beautiful flavours of a pho but tasted like a slightly watered down version of previous Pho I've eaten so, lacked some punch and the beef was slightly too thick. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I'd go back for the spring rolls and try another of their soups.
F.
We Loved this place three times in a row !!!
So Fresh and flavorful!!
A.
We had to check this place out as soon as we reached Rotorua. Actually came back here twice on our 2-day trip. I've always ordered classic beef pho. It's my staple. Pho is a nice comfort meal on rainy days. Me and my partner loved their iced egg coffee & iced egg chocolate so much!!! Would definitely come back here in the future. Thank you Saigon 60s!
B.
Wow!! We got dinner delivered ($7 delivery fee was reasonable), hue spicy lemongrass noodle soup with pork and Vietnamese BBQ pork on rice. Absolute flavour bombs! The food arrived hot and in excellent packaging so that it still presented nicely and looked inviting to eat. Unfortunately my photos do not do the meals justice. We will without a doubt eat from “Saigon 60’s Vietnamese cuisine” again.
M.
Fantastic Vietnamese takeaway/ restaurant. Decent options of dishes, good portion, and really reasonable price. Service is very fast so should be ideal even for a short lunch break. I had The classic beef pho and I was close to one I had in Vietnam. Highly recommended.
B.
I was blown away by how amazing this place is. Very authentic Vietnamese food with friendly service and reasonable prices to boot! I’d recommend trying the Egg Chocolate or Coffee - it’s extraordinary!
A.
Yummy tasty as food, we had the beef pho with chicken meat, vege spring rolls, pork bahn mi, lemongrass chicken and vegetarian stir fry. Everything was full of flavour, I highly recommend the soup and the lemongrass chicken. The vege spring rolls weren't the best, were a bit tasteless but overall was thoroughly impressed and the service was great too!!!
A.
Howdy all,
I liked some aspects of the interior (the graphical timeline of migrating to NZ and starting the business was very nice - check out my pix) but the food somewhat missed the mark. We had the beef classic pho, spicy noodle soup and I was about to order the dry noodle with BBQ pork but the lady at the counter recommended stir-fry Udon noodles with seafood. The beef pho seemed a bit sweet to me but my dish (Udon) was fairly standard thing you could make at home. We also ordered fried squid which was great and had an amazing green chilli HOT sauce. My food arrived roughly 5 minutes after the first dish hit the table which is not that great as you have to sit and watch people eat at first and then they have to sit and watch you. They were apologetic without me pointing it out which is great but overall it's not the best situation. I would say this place was around 3 stars on this night but a small family run business, with COVID recovery in mind I'd happily settled for 4.
C.
One of favourite places to eat in Rotorua. Delicious food and plenty of vegetarian options. The egg coffee is a must-try! It's like a delicious custard mixed with coffee.
m.
Soups were ok - slightly towards sour. Noodles slightly overcooked. Spring rolls were crispy but very small. Taste like genuine home made Vietnamese food but don't expect professional Vietnamese cuisine. Price slightly more than ones in Auckland.
R.
Pho is magnificent. Taste even yummy in the winter 😋
Fried rice quite decent but the quantity is quite generous.
I could see people keep coming in this place either dine in or takeaways. So must be a good restaurant after all.
Overall highly recommended 👌
D.
Great food, not that cheap though...
Got the bun bo Hue aka spicy beef soup and it was actually spicy! The pork banh mi is spectacular. It's wet though, don't let it sit on your plate too long. My wife got the chicken pho and it was really good too. If you are used to having mix ins, they are sparse but unneeded. They have hoison, soy and some chili sauce. No Sriracha, sambal oelek, fish sauce, lime etc.
Overall we loved it!
A.
Loved it!! If you want an authentic Pho soup or the grilled pork noodle salad, I would highly recommend. Have only tried a similarly amazing place in Melbourne previously so great work guys. The beef pho was really good!! You do need to reserve a table as they get busy!
J.
Absolutely delicious, I had the tofu pancake and my friend had the beef pho, we couldn't stop saying yum!
P.
Nice to find a clean friendly Viet restaurant in Rotovegas.. would recommend the grilled pork and rice and also the spring rolls.. the lemongrass chicken had a little too much onion (half) for my liking.. the pho soup was decent but noodles average. Would return again but please note it is a little pricy for lunch..
T.
Good, classic Vietnamese dishes. I had the special poh - bbq pork. A good sized bowl with some sliced pieces of pork with veges - pictures of their dishes are displayed on an interior wall.
A.
Best Pho I had outside of Vietnam 🇻🇳 Amazing! Will definitely come back ❤️
H.
Came for the egg coffee, but not as good as we expected. Dishes were pretty good and unique, but not amazing.
J.
We came for the egg coffee and I'm so so glad we did. If you love delicious, proper authentic Vietnamese food, this is definitely the place. We had the classics - beef pho and BBQ pork banh mi. The pho broth was rich, aromatic and flavour-packed, the thinly sliced beef was delightfully tender. The baguette was light, fresh and stacked with deliciousness. I eyed the next table enviously when their banh xeo was brought out - we'll be back for that bad boy. My parents snuck back the next day (!) for fresh spring rolls and seafood noodle soup, which they also raved about. Happy mouth.
J.
Call the Fire department...🚒🔥📛👩🚒
Had a Chicken Baggette and added the 🔥🔥😋 😢😭😫 tears of joy loved it...so good!
A.
The staff is friendly & welcoming, but I think they're so new they had a hard time processing my credit card; glad I had cash to use. I ordered the seafood noodle soup, pictured below; I wasn't impressed as it has a slight sour taste that reminded me of yum-yum soup. I like the veggies the put in there though. The restaurant does not have a restroom because there's a public bathroom outside, which I couldn't find. At the time of my visit, the owner was having a conversation about the food poster size with the graphic designer. The posters looked great but I doubt they'd fit in the frame. Overall, I'd be back for a different dish to give it another try.
C.
As authentic as one can get without going to Vietnam!
Excellent cha gio - spring roll, bun thir nuoung - dry salad noodles with pork and a fragrant beef stock and tender beef slices for the beef noodles soup!
We left with satisfied tummies and happy faces!
y.
unexpectedly good and tasty. just a little long wait after order on that day. nice to hv something hot to eat in Rotorua when weather is cold. staff nice. but no washroom near by hahaha
B.
So good we had to come back the next day!
I've had a lot of Vietnamese food in my time. This is by far the best I've had in New Zealand. We've tried the beef pho, the pork vermicelli, and the tofu bahn mi. That banh mi is extraordinary. Also the famous egg coffee is such a treat.
L.
Had the beef pho, lemongrass chicken and summer rolls. All of them were super delicious especially the beef pho, the soup was full of flavour and the beef was very tender.
J.
We ordered deliver to our MIQ hotel via their website. Unfortunately they delivered at the wrong time. However, they were quick to apologise and rectified their mistake.
As for the food, extremely tasty especially the Spicy lemongrass soup. The tofu in the rice noodle dish was tasty too. Generous portions.
Great choice if you want authentic Vietnamese food.
L.
Ordered the spicy lemongrass noodle soup, and it is so good. You can smell the fragrance of herbs when the bowl of soup arrived. The pancake is on the oily side, only without dripping oil then it will be quite nice. Make sure you go toilet before you come! No toilet on premise!
N.
Authentic vietnam cuisine and friendly staff. Quite pricey but its a tourist town. Local loves it. Try it when you are in town.
D.
Such a great place with delicious food. I always have the Pho and it is always yummy..
H.
The best Vietnamese food I've had in a long time. Best spot in Rotorua.
G.
A bustling restaurant on a Winter's day, the staff were friendly, the food was very good. My beef pho was delicious, sweet tasty broth, firm glassy rice noodles and tender meat. Highly recommended
A.
Great coffee and food, spicy lemongrass noodles. Must try Vietnamese egg coffee!
C.
Amazing food, we had - duck coconut curry and pho
A.
Is it still the same owner? We found the restaurant busy but with only one person on the floor so tables were messy and not wiped down. No toilet. Hand sanitiser bottles were on display but both empty. Seems a bit disorganised. Food was tasty but more expensive than the competitor across the road. I would've give 5 stars in the past but something seems to have changed here, could be improved. Still one of the best restaurants in Rotorua though!
D.
Visited this place after a youtuber (Peter & Yen) featured it in their videos, honestly blown away by the food. Some of the best pho, spring rolls, and egg coffee i've had - Auckland Viet cuisine's has a lot to learn from this place! 10/10 - definitely will be back again.
S.
Insanely good, delicious and fresh vietnamese food😊
M.
The pancake and coffee were excellent. However the Pho was just average.
V.
The BEST Pho you can find in NZ and even better than some in VN. The flavour is strong and balance and the infused fragrance of pho is just perfect. Very authentic Southern-style Viet foods. Highly recommended.
E.
Had my usual - classic beef pho.
Compared to other places in other cities, soup could be better and serving was average. Not sure what the food price is in Rotorua but is cheaper than palmy.
Still enjoyed it though, noodle is the chewy one - one that looks like a glass noodle not the traditional rice noodle.
Overall enjoyable experience, would go again.
F.
We ate here after the Rororua Marathon 2020. If compared to the flavour of Hansan, Saigon 60s Pho flavour is way better. Bhan Mi is on the spot! Staff are very friendly. Highly recommend. A must go to place when you are in Rotorua.
S.
I've been there 2 days in a row, eating the same dish again. The vegetarian tofu pho. It was absolutely amazing, and if I'm ever back in Rotorua, I gonna eat it again.
C.
This place is amazing. You should definitely go. Get the hot eggy chocolate while you're there.
J.
Had a lunch. Quite busy in the time. Nice experience to have egg coffee.
M.
The best noodle soup I've ever had.. and it's vegan too 🔥
S.
Delicious food and excellent service! We ordered online and paid for delivery. However, we misread the menu and mistakenly ordered an item that did not meet our dietary requirements. The folks at Saigon 60s were very understanding and allowed us to change this for another item on the menu, even though the food was already on it's way at the time we realised. We were only required to return the food and pay another delivery cost, which we feel was completely reasonable given this was our own error.
s.
This place is seriously legit and nicest Vietnamese place I've been, the food is really yummy and very busy.
..
Yummy dishes served here. The egg coffee is delicious too.
P.
Highly recommended this place. The best Vietnamese beef noodle I have tried in Auckland. Good service.
D.
Really authentic and great tasting Vietnamese food. Speed of service was a bit lagging but given that it seems to be an entirely family run operation it’s understandable. Food was worth the wait !
T.
So yummy. Staff friendly 😍
Must try ❤️❤️
s.
Really lovely, refreshing, food. We had lunch, and it was all very yummy. Love the dipping sauces. Wish I had taken photo's to share.
K.
Nice place if you want to try Vietnamese Pho 👍
F.
Amazing very authentic food, we have just moved to Rotorua after living in Asia for the last 5-6 years and can say its the best we've eaten since leaving HK. Pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem on Rotorua.
K.
Not only is the food absolutely delicious but the staff are absolutely lovely and the ambience is very warm and welcoming
D.
Foods are good. It is getting more and more expensive though. There is also another vitnamese resturant nearby that i personally think is sightly better cheapper.
T.
This place has the best Vietnamese food we have ever had. Me and my partner love this place. The spicy hue beef is my go to. The flavours in the broth are incredible. Along with the fresh ingredients. Delicious on a cold day. Warm the body up. All there dishes are amazing. Never had a bad experience. Betty and Victor make you feel at home. Amazing customer service. Nice layout of how they set everything up. Would highly recommend them to anybody wanting a good fresh enjoyable meal.
A.
The soup was really awsome!! I like this! I tried beef pho noodle soup, but I also want to try the other munu as well
S.
Best noodle soup! We had the seafood, roast duck and kids chicken pho and all were outstanding. We will definitely be coming back! Shame it's a 3 hour drive.
A.
Lovely place.
I enjoyed the chicken pho
A.
Honestly, this restaurant deserves 5 stars all day. I am pretty sure that you can hardly find any better Vietnamese restaurants in the whole New Zealand. The food is so authentic that you won't need to go to Vietnam to try the true local foods of Vietnam. Pho and Banh Xeo are the must haves. Highly recommended.
A.
Fantastic Vietnamese food. We had a lovely lunch where everything was super fresh and delicious. The only criticism would be the lack of lettuce with the (yummy!) Vietnamese pancake.
And finding egg coffee outside of Vietnam is a bonus.
D.
Food was great, nice vegetarian and vegan options.
Q.
We had Spicy Chicken Lemongrass Soup, the Duck Rice Dish and the Chicken Springrolls and they were amazing 😊 Really quick and prompt service. Nice dining environment and lovely staff. I will be back again soon
H.
Lots of vegan options! Everything vegetarian on the menu can be made vegan. I had a delicious vietnamese salad gluten free/vegan on request. Thank you!
K.
The Vietnamese pancake was spectacular As was the chicken salad - fresh and crunchy. Curried tofu was much enjoyed. Get there well Before 8 cos they close early. Despite our late arrival we were treated with friendliness.
k.
Excellent food and ambiance. Will always have time for my favourite beef pho and spring rolls after a weekend ride at whaka
P.
Yum! I've a pho pro and the pho here is excellent 🍜🍜
A.
Spectacularly tasty and authentic Vietnamese, in love with the avocado smoothies and egg coffee. Totally want to keep eating my way through the menu and wish we had a restaurant like this in Auckland
A.
The curry isn't spicy, but adds nice flavor. Friendly staff.
A.
The selection of theirs is excellent with lots of exciting dishes to try. I've been in a couple of times and many of the dishes we tried was great. Innovative, delicious and well presented. Ambiance and service are efficient. Regarding tonight, we were not let down too as the meals was amazing. Also the fussy kids of ours enjoyed the tastes and range of food. It absolutely was a fantastic family dinner, everybody enjoyed it.
P.
Rice noodle soup is one of the best in NZ. About the rice noodle, there are a bit soft and fragment. Recommend Boss chief make. some improvement on it. And will be perfect.
S.
Super tasty and generous amount of food!
P.
We dropped in here for lunch, I can highly recommend the pancake. Very nice place, worth a visit. Friendly atmosphere. Authentic food.
D.
Tried their Vietnamese pre-dipped coffee - taste great!
K.
I had so many high expectations for this place. When you enter, the atmosphere is bright and cheery. The highly detailed wall menu instantly draws to the food. My only issue with the wall menu is that they are not priced. We were actually really shocked to see our final bill. The prices are a little bit too steep for the food that we got and could have used a touch more seasoning. For the price point I expected perfection. On the upside the staff are really friendly and welcoming. I hope you take this criticism to better your business. If we go to eat there again and they
meet our expectations, I will change my review.
i.
Good food and good service. Nothing out of the ordinary
M.
The family of mine just recently visited Saigon 60s for lunch while holidaying from Sydney. The meals was impressive. We shared the lemongrass chicken pho & the pork noodle salad with spring rolls. They were both delicious! The worth for cash was good & the service was friendly. They've a big menu selection to pick from with vegetarian & gluten free options also. I'd certainly suggest this particular spot for real Vietnamese food.
K.
Best Vietnamese I've had in New Zealand so far since traveling to Vietnam. Pancake and egg coffee were so authentic and the pancake was a very generous size. Will definitely be back next time I'm back in Rotorua . Loved everything ❤
J.
Such good food & amazing flavours for a small place
A.
The employees that's favorable, a huge amount of food choices, sensible waiting time after purchasing the meals of ours. Real Vietnamese taste right here, unlike other Vietnamese places oversea which are far too fusion.
Fresh and calm environment.
Overall outstanding experience, is our brand new ideal Asian food place.
K.
Great service, beautiful food and will return. I have been to a lot of vietnamese restaurants in the North island and rank Saigon '60s at the top. I live in Gisborne and every time I come to Rotorua, I will be calling in for a meal. A definite must try if you havnt been before.
s.
Food was great, fresh and reasonably priced. There was a surcharge for credit card, and didnt seem to have any toilet facilities (though I had takeaway)
T.
Big! Enough for two...
Big on calories, low on taste and nutrition...
v.
Good and tasty food..good option for vegetarians..
E.
I was traveling in New Zealand. When I came to Rotorua, I started to crave for my home country's food. I searched for a restaurant nearby and this place just popped up right away. It is surprisingly closed to the bus station where I first arrived in Rotorua as well, so I went to it. I ordered a bowl of Pho and the Egg Coffee. And they were SO GOOD! The Pho broth is so rich and to my surprise, it tastes EXACTLY like the one I usually have in Saigon!!! For the Egg Coffee, in my opinion, I prefer this one more than the one I had in Hanoi as I could feel the richness of egg and its sweetness is just right. The Egg Coffee I had back in Vietnam was just too sweet for my taste, I guess. Not to mention, the service here is fast, the staff are so nice and friendly. This restaurant is really underrated!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to you if you want some authentic (in my point of view) Vietnamese food.
D.
The very first time of mine trying Vietnamese foods. I'd the fried rice of theirs with prawn and pork therefore find it irresistible. Rice is soft, not oily at all and also smell amazing. Will certainly come to try out their noodle soup the next time as everybody else appears to get the beef soup of theirs. The brand new favourite of mine for certain.
B.
Pop-in this small gem for supper and didn't expect much as I'm really picky with regards to Viet foods. Nevertheless, the huge selection of theirs obtained us intrigued so we tried three meals and one egg coffee. I was very impressed of the Pho broth of theirs tasted very much like Saigon street food and egg coffee became a pleasant experience.
Had almost all our lunch pick up from there the following morning and was every bit as good. I endorse this particular location for just about any Vietnamese missing home food in NZ.
M.
Yummy authentic food. Awesome flavour and really fresh. Came back twice while on our trip. Also had the table drip coffee and egg coffee which were both really good. Hit the spot.
M.
This particular restaurant has an airy space which makes me comfortably. Boss and staff members are very great & welcoming. Particularly, Vietnamese food is very new and tasty. It is able to signify the characteristic of regular meal of 1 of Asean country. I was amazed clearly with Saigon'60s. Everybody must use right here once when traveling to Rotorua.
S.
The food is so wonderful and authentic!! We haven't been for a while but man we're thrilled we got to come back The renovations are great and the iced egg coffee is incredible As always Victor is a lovely host and so friendly. Amazing food, fabulous place.
G.
I've been here for a lot of times to test every one of the tasty food of theirs. Choosing to enjoy a delicious beef noodles soup in a cool morning to recoup the overall health of mine after getting a flu:(was the very best decision extremely recommended _
Ahhhh as well as the egg coffee to complete was a great bonus, too
a.
Yummy food good service.. and freshly cooked
F.
Very tasty foods, had the seafood Pho. Lots of seafood in it and the broth was excellent! Enjoyed very much and will recommend you and many of my friends who will come here in Rotorua. Great service and very welcoming! Thank you all and to the cooks!
V.
AMAZING! Their food is full of flavor of super tasty. Highly recommend if you want authentic Vietnamese food. Their iced Vietnamese coffee is especially good. BBQ Pork Banh Mi is the best I've had.
J.
Food amazing, delicious ❤️ and super friendly staff 👍👍. Nice Atmosphere in the shop, lovely details on the walls with their story and meal pictures which look all delicious.
E.
Love the yummy food here! Would consider myself quite a regular and love the service every time, I always feel so welcome! Love how most of their packaging is bio degradable compared to many other take out places which is awesome! Banh mih, summer rolls, chicken pho & bbq pork or stir fried beef on rice would be some of my favourites from the original menu! Highly recommend anyone in or passing through Rotorua to at least try this place out once for yourself if you’re into Vietnamese cuisine & let your experience make your mind up 😊
M.
Considering my go to vietnamese restaurant was closed, we tried this place and the food did not disappoint. Very delicious. The service however was lacking ALOT!
P.
I've never ever attempted Vietnamese vegan meal until the good friend of mine has taken us to this small spot. It's a tad hidden despite the centra location (locate virtually Deli roast), but one can find loads of seating inside also pretty spacious. They've an entire page of vegan meals and vegetarian. I'd the vegan noodle soup which was definitely delicious, very new vegetables, good use of herbs, bean curd is smooth, broth is filled with flavor. I like it even I purchased one to get home. The female was extremely beneficial, also pack the soup separatedly that is fantastic.
Will be again without a doubt.
M.
This is certainly one of the best take away in town. Very tasty Vietnamese food, authentic recipe, run by Vietnamese people. The Phô and lemongrass chicken noodle salad with spring rolls are my favourite. The very sweet Vietnamese coffee is perfect to finish your meal.
B.
Stop by this particular spot on our road trip to Rotorua since I'm Vietnamese and also was craving for Viet foods. Certainly well worth the stop as I'm really impressed by just how it's very like those in Vietnam. The parents of mine are extremely picky eater and all appreciate the food items of theirs. Recommend and can be returned!
H.
We recently had our meal here, absolutely amazing food - very tasty and authentic. The portions were quite large so I could not finish it all, so go hungry!
The staff are also very attentive. Totally recommend this place as a must go!!!
E.
The meals here's very tasty, very genuine and extremely affordable. Vincent and Betty go out of the way of theirs to ensure that the food of ours is incredible everytime. The coffee is addicting and just love relaxing in a cafe in Hoi An. Endorse the Egg Coffee - such as a liquid magnificent dessert. I'm gradually generating the way of mine with the scrumptious menu.
This was a surprise come across for us and it is currently a weekly necessity!!! So yummy!!!
T.
Delicious and authentic bun bo hue - yummy! I normally go across the highway on the various other Vietnamese restaurant but chosen to test this now therefore happy I did. Regardless of the dated deco plus small tacky presentation, the spicy beef noodle of theirs will be the closet I've already tasted from anyplace outside Vietnam. Though they utilized cabbage for the green and that is very distinct from what we'd in vietnam though it fully match the spicy Hue noodles. Will be to test far more things without a doubt.
T.
Lots of people recommended that place, but finally I was a bit disappointed, while my expectations were higher than what I got (beef pho, spring rolls: you can't do typicaller than that).
It was not a bad experience but the food was blander than what you could get (definitely lacking of herbs/seasoning)
U.
This was our two times to Saigon 60s restaurant. Best Vietnamese food I have tasted so far in Rotorua. The food and great program were extremely tasty also the presentation meticulous. Althought mainly are sefl service, staffs are incredibly friendly as well as helpful. Additionally, there are lots of meter parking within the block so we did not have any issue. Tremendous value for cash, suggest for certain.
T.
If you’re in Rotorua and looking for the authentic Vietnamese food, Saigon 60’s is a right one. They cook an original Southern Vietnam taste with variety of cuisines. I had tried a combo a BBQ baguette with a Vietnamese ice coffee which is very good option for a breakfast, a beef noodle soup is fantastic for whom like spicy, an amazing egg coffee which only can find at Saigon 60’s. Many different noodle soups which are really good to warm up for this cold winter.they also have many options for vegetarian. They have cooked and updated many more dished since last few months I was there. I would come back and try whenever going back to Rotorua. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant with the very nice and friendly team.
M.
Try out the food items of theirs with the hubby of mine whenever we had been in Rotorua. We both believed that the chef of theirs has to be really skilful with Vietnamese flavours as the dishes utilized neighborhood veggie and herbs but taste were very much like Vietnam. Probably a really sensible strategy to cooking Viet food oversea. We'll likely use exactly the same components for baking when returning to Sydney. Excellent experience really!
M.
The ONLY place I have been so far does EGG COFFEE outside of Vietnam. Love the way they served it in the ceramic candle burner. Egg cream was rich and delicious. My partner loves her pork on rice.
h.
Nice...had sweet n sour. Thought veges and meat bit tough. Tasty, possibly vietnamese not my kai.
L.
Really good and holds its own as one of the best Vietnamese places in NZ, took me back to Ho Chi Minh City. The curry and pho were my highlights.
H.
We loved this place!! Pho is always great. The service is nice the people here are very friendly with a smile on their face. I love their home sauce not every pho place Have it. Besides, the coffee here is really delicious, the taste is really like Vietnam. We’ll come here again and again...!
Z.
Whether takeaway and dine in Saigon 60s noodle soups are hearty and crammed chock-full flavor - favourites being Hue Spicy Pho and Beef. Friendly and also accommodating staff - I had taken my very own glass lid box to stay away from takeaway plastic that team have been willing to fill and place into the thermos bag of mine. Selection was extended and also seems interesting, plentiful, and fresh to work the way of ours through.
Q.
Were seeing from Brisbane. The husband of mine requested me what I want to for lunch and I was really craving bun bo hue. I was amazed with just how authentic and delicious absolutely tasting this was! Extremely pleased! Their online ordering service is very easy to work with and also handy also. Cheers guys!
M.
I was here last night and had the vegetable and tofu noodle soup. The meal was quite good. The service was fast and friendly. No complaints, worth a stop if you’re in Rotorua and want Vietnamese food.
S.
Amazing food! Everything i get is well presented. Simple food with knock out flavours. Hands down one of the best restaurants in Rotorua.
W.
Possessed a food with friends here and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and flavor of the meals. This particular family owned restaurant offers a broad range of authentic dishes and deliciousness. I suggest the bbq pork and rice!
C.
Awesome place. Service was good, food had exceptional flavors. This is my new go-to place in Rotorua
B.
The food was amazing. My only suggestion is order small to start with. The servings are very generous. The pho bowls amazing. And be sure to order your egg coffee!!!
M.
Yum yum yum but took a while to cook our dishes
M.
The beef pho was among the very best, despite comparison to Ho chi Min's. The broth was so
Rich with spices & herbs. May be a little on the saltier side for a few. Though it is ideal for the Asian flavor. The beef slices were new. Fried prawn rice was cooked perfectly.
W.
Amazing to find out the majority of the product packaging is eco-friendly, even the cutlery of theirs, and that is very awesome! Ive dined really quite a couple of times at Saigon 60s today and each time is fantastic. Victor and Betty will be the beautiful owners & just greet me every time that actually causes it to be homely for me every time. Theyve progressed a lot since they 1st started the time last season, and have usually consumed the customers of theirs dining responses and experiences into account and also did anything about it, for their clients! Amazing to find out they've loyalty cards now for us regulars Soooo a lot more available options too, it will make it much tougher to pick what tasty food to test subsequent! Nothing but progression here.. continue the incredible hospitality team! You're amazing!
v.
Nice food. Iver sit down or on the go.
K.
A whole page of vege options ! Didn't not expect an Asian takeaway shop to put that much thought in vegan food. They check with me very careful about what I want and do not want. I had the curry tofy stir-fried with noodle and love it. Will be back.
M.
Great Vietnamese Restaurant, no.1 in Rotorua in my opinion. Ask the staff about your diet requirement, even if they don't have in their menu, they was very happy to adapt. Their cook is top-notch.
M.
It’s good, but... my pho didn’t come with coriander, basil, or lime - just a lot of green onion and sprouts. Broth was great. Maybe they were just short on ingredients for the day?
J.
Food and service was pretty decent, but pricey with small portions. The food wasn’t good enough to justify the prices. Drink sizes also very small.
C.
Saigon '60s ja really nice and authentic.
The Team is very friendly ans helpful.
The food was really authentic, fresh and good seasoned. We loved the vietnam coffee. Je you like kondensmilk you should try the egg coffee.
F.
We're looking for a dinning option in Rotorua CBD then came across this little gem. The dishes were freshly prepared and also loaded with flavors. We both believed the pancake (banh xeo) was a lot better than one we'd in Hue. Very delicious and fresh. Just want we'd tried the egg coffee of theirs though it was a little late in the evening. Will certainly grow back in case we've a second opportunity to.
M.
Very closed to bus station and office central. I have tried most dishes ere and all was excellent. A big range of dishes and pricing but all good value for money. Highly recommend the sweet and sour chicken thign, came with a hot plate and rice.
D.
Better than VNam.
Their food is really authentic and well made. You could really see how much thought they've put in to their menu. The lemongrass chicken pho is just a flavor bomb! Given that they used small rice noodles just makes the whole ensemble perfect and also leaves enough space for the lemongrass fried chicken to shine through. Lastly, the broth. Oh man oh man the broth. Needless to say, the bowl was clean when we left.
Saigon 60s, well done 👏🏻
A.
It was good, however Pho was a little bit to sweet.
B.
Delicious authentic Vietnamese food.
D.
Food is good especially the Pho but the staff should be more welcoming and engaging with the patrons. And should explain to patrons when they were just standing looking at the menu what the food is
H.
Wonderful food! Gave us back the Vietnam vibes. Generous portions and nice staff, the coffee was also genuine.
T.
The absolute best restaurant in rotorua. I eat here 3-4 times a week. Beef pho is more authentic than any place I’ve eaten in NZ
L.
We just recently had the meal of ours right here, absolutely incredible meal - authentic and tasty very. The meal portions were rather huge so I couldn't eat it all, as go hungry! The employees are additionally really receptive. Entirely suggest this particular location as a must go!!!
S.
Egg Coffee was amazing...and the food, particularly the soup noodles are always good. We drive from Tauranga regularly for this.
B.
Came here to test a little rotorua's vietnamese food while we had been on the vacation of ours. Got amazed with genuine dishes, wonderful assistance and taste too. It truly hit the home sick area for us. We'd the popular egg coffee of theirs, banh xeo in addition to two various other noodle soup dishes. Most had been nicely made and also have proven the reason you need to go to this particular place in case you've the chance
F.
Absolutely incredible food! Really like this particular place, the great staff members and also the food. Working through the menus, all is tasty. You are able to also buy via the fb page of theirs. Local or perhaps visitor this's a need to do!
M.
Good taste but no toilet...kk
E.
Nothing fancy, but good pho and summer rolls and egg coffee. The bò kho (beef stew) is tasty and the service is friendly.

Friendly Authentic Vietnamese Restaurant. They don't have customer toilet unfortunately, but the staff is very kind in explaining their situation and show us way to the pulic toilet near by which is only a short walk away and pretty clean. Food was amazing.
M.
Totally delicious. Bang Mi, duck curry, noodle salad had been almost all faultless. Endorse. Quaint cafe. Helpful customer service.
C.
Nice food and served by very kind people. We forgot 1 order at the shop and the owner drove to our motel to deliver the food to us, still warm. We wish you all the best with your business as your foods were awsome.
N.

B.
I'm from Vietnam. I'm going around North island and also visited Rotorua for each very first time. Thus, I chose to offer Saigons sixty a shot. I have summer rolls which had been extremely new, additionally a bow of beef pho; this's truly authentic and tasty. I love the meals a great deal. They're certainly well worth you a trip.
J.
