You have to stop into this place. great meals, reasonable price but overall delicious meals.

As soon as we walked in we could smell the beautiful smoked flavours. Great attitude from staff to customers. And the food was next level yummy. Popular was busy the whole time we were there

Was our best find whilst in Rotorua. Ordered their 50/50 cheeseburger, which was cooked mid-rare and juicy as heck. Went back for seconds with their pork belly bites, and even ordered dessert after. Restaurant is tucked away in a little corner, but don't let appearances fool you- both the food and service were top notch! As an added bonus, we also appreciated the head chef coming out to say hi and ask how our meals were. 😊

The food was fantastic as was the company we kept. The heat was really bad but the food made it up. It’s a great BBQ Joint which we will be going to again. We HIGHLY recommend going there and eating in or out. UPDATE 10/06/2021 Stopped in after a days work. This place does not disappoint. Had a solo meal today and switched out the fries for a slaw. It was awesome. Deadset the best food I’ve tried in Vegas.

This was my 1st time at this restaurant. A+++customer, they make you feel at home. And they check with you to make sure your meal is satisfactory. There's a good family atmosphere. There are kids menus and highchairs available. The open plan bathroom is clean and tidy and large enough to comfortably fit a pram through the door. I ordered a cheese burger it was made with a delicious "home-made style" meat patty. This restaurant was highly recommended to me from friends. 5☆☆☆☆☆ ♡ it , looking forward to my next visit. #Family#Restaurant

Interesting and thoughtfully designed burgers, epic pork belly bites, and next level service. We had a great conversation with the owner about his thought process for flavour combinations. I'd recommend giving it a try as the combinations make for a burger you wouldn't get anywhere else.

It seems quite popular so I tried as well. Really, I think it is quite good but I like more American's huge burger so I can only score 4. However, it tastes really different compared to chain store or US style but good way. I will recommend that you also need to try here as well. The only thing not taste to me is the chips...well, not meet my stomach.

Yum! I had the 50/50 cheeseburger it was delicious. Super filling food. Guy at the bar has such dry wit its great. My family all enjoyed their meals and it came out fairly quickly. They have bathrooms and seating for big groups.

Good food. Taste great. I really dont know about the waiting time here in NZ but it took longer that what i am used to. That being said, i will be going back to sample more on whats on their menu.

Today is my wife's birthday and she loves the Buttermilk chicken burger from The Factory. I ordered delivery and requested they send an epic burger for her birthday. They DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! I sat there and watched the smile on my wife's face as she devoured her chicken burger. The "happy birthday" message on the package was a wonderful extra touch. Thank you, The Factory, for delivering something that was above and beyond expectations. You made my wife and me very happy!!

What a find! A restaurant with personal delight in the food they serve. Easily one of the best, if not the best, burgers I have ever tasted - the original smokehouse burger. Loved the chicken wings and tenders too. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. The staff are super friendly and happy to have your business. My wife, who's coeliac, probably had one of the best eat out meals she's had in a long, long time. Would absolutely recommend and look forward to them opening in Tauranga.

What a fantastic place to eat. Awesome friendly hosts, great music and clearly passionate about food and service. Pork belly bites are ridiculously good, phenomenal burgers and chips too. All sauces, bacon, Patties etc are made on site. Great beers too from just down the road. Cheers Jason!

Got take away for the hotel twice, so good. The bacon is delicious, they must smoke it themselves. Tried my first 50/50 burger which was so different than a normal burger patty, wasn't as juicy but nice and smokey and porky. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because the chef's food handling hygiene is not the best. My partner watched him and was less than impressed. Food was great though and there's a secret menu btw.

Absolutely amazing food I had the flying solo and upgraded to guilty chips, I struggled to finish it and then thought I wish I had more. Will be my first and last stop when in rotarua.

Some of the best ribs I’ve had in New Zealand. Everything here was excellent and pretty good portion sizes, too.

Update for 2022. It is still the BEST. I wish we had one in Auckland. We literally routed our drive home from Napier to dine here. Keto and zero carb friendly. My whole family loved the food. They serve high quality and delicious meat, sauces, and sides at affordable prices. The service is fast and friendly. Their Kids menu is absolutely great, it is funny, appropriate, and my kids ate the food! I cannot recommend this place enough, I would very seriously like to visit Rotorua again just to eat at The Factory Smokehouse and Grill again.

Basic place, humble bar, bottles and nothing on tap (recommend the Croucher beer in bottles), however their cooking is awesome. Burgers and fries cooked to perfection. Great flavours.

The food was good. I liked the orange pop sauce, pork bites and garlic bread the most. I wasn't a fan of the coleslaw. I only got smoke from the wings. Good price though. Just need the punch up the flavour a little more. Then I will change my rating. ✌

Extremely delicious ! The must-try restaurant in Rotorua! The grilled rib is very soft and you can easily tear apart the meat from the bone! Adding some pepper and salt will make it more delicious! The french fries is also quite awesome! Very delicious can crispy! I can’t tell the reason but it’s extremely delicious!!! Also the garlic bread is also very crispy and smells terrific! Anyway, the experience that day is wonderful for my friend and me. We all enjoyed the meal at the factory. By the way, we ordered “the meal for two” it’s a good deal. During weekend, there are many customers coming for meal! Highly recommend restaurant ~~

Great food, amazing service and an overall fantastic experience. Before even sitting down we were asked if we had any food allergens and with an egg allergic wife we often struggle eating out, this was a refreshing experience to be prompted before having to ask the question. The meals were quick, filling and amazingly priced as well as nice and smokey. Above all the banter with the staff made the experience extra special. No fake smiles, just genuine banter and laughs from people who bring you genuine food. We'll be coming back.

This is a great place for some good quality burgers. They also serve things like Pork Belly Bites which are amazing. These aren't budget meals like you would find at a fish and chips shop, so be prepared to spend $10-$15 on a burger alone - but trust it's worth it.

Was an awesome lunch! Couldn't even finish it. Was l absolutely lovely as! Even though it cost us almost $60 it was yum as, big as burgers, couldn't even finish my burger because of the chips & ribs but still yum as though 😊 loved it.

Whole experience was 10/10. Greeted straight away, given colouring felts and paper so it ticks of the boxes of being a child friendly establishment. Very eco friendly food packaging. Duty manager Jason was very honest and friendly, we had opted for a deal which included drinks and he had mistakenly overcharged us but once realised notified us and refunded the money, he also made sure everyone in the establishment was taken care of and enjoying there food!! Would definitely recommend this place and will going back for another meal the meat is cooked to perfection, burgers are delicious & the customer service is on point 😊

Amazing food both quality wise and taste..managed to squeeze in even without a reservation which was a miracle..Friendly staff and loads of variety...When u eat here, you can feel the difference..everything from sauces to burgers to fries was delicious 😋

The atmosphere is basic kinda like the "backyard bar bbq", but don't let that put you off ladies, the food is amazing! Melt in your mouth brisket laden chips and the bbq ribs fall off the bone, tender as. Gluten free eaters are well catered for. The chicken tenders in buttermilk are heavenly. We turned up with no booking but was able to get a table and served quickly. Service was pleasant, friendly, and with a smile. They make everything so know what's in the food. Go there now and taste the food, you will definitely worth the visit. On trip advisors top 10 restaurants.

The food was ok. I expected more. More flavour not portions. But they are great value for money and quality. The ribs I had compared to others where good but not outstanding. The onion rings tasted mainly after the oil they were cooked in. And one star subduction for bot having propper plates when dining in. Environmental this can be done better.

Food was good, no bad experiences! Priced extremely well, chicken was well smoked, ribs not so much but than again it does say "lightly smoked"😁... Manager on duty was great. Bookings are recommended to avoid disappointments as they were quite busy with people popping in regularly... 4 stars due to good, well priced food and a chilled environment!

Came down from Auckland....decided to stop here and try it out. This place beats half the auckland gourmet burger restaurants. Everything was super yummy and fresh. Will definitely come back to this place when im in rotorua.

I took my grandson for a burger (last exam today) and it has to be the best burger menu we've seen; the juiciest, the tastiest and most delicious food ... not forgetting the chips. Fabulous guy behind the counter, fabulous cooks in the kitchen - and yes, we've been before and we love it. 5 1/2 out of 5 stars 👍👌👌

We had the bbq maple ribs & the buttermilk chicken burger with avo smash & chicken crackle & pork belly bites !! They were all absolutely amazing , we cant wait to come back. Service was also great.

Was so yum. Ribs, pork belly bites, home made sauces, onion rings, and mud cake with icebreaker for dessert. Gluten free. I wouldn't know it. Everything was mouthwatering good. Definitely will go again and again.

We will come here everytime we are in rotorua. The burgers were absolutely amazing and will be one those meals we always remember. I had the renegade - the mixture of smoked bacon with the avocado smash and the factory sauce was the best burger I have eaten. This place knows how to smoke, and knows how to flavour and sauce a burger perfectly. My 4 year old also smashed his burger, chips and corn. My partner had the double keto burger and was just as impressed. We also had 2 beers and some extra chips all up our bill was only 65 bucks

This was our first visit, and was the food good! The pork bites, calamari, chicken tenders, slaw and corn on the cob was super tasty. Nothing bland here. Exceptional food, great service at unbelievably low prices. A hidden gem!!❤️

Had a wonderful meal at the Smokehouse - crispy pork belly bites were the best. Good attentive table service, just the right amount of interaction. Bit out of the way but so is every destination place. Make the trip it’s worth it.

Came across this place by chance. So glad we made the choice to stop in and grab some food to take away. Ribs fell away from the meat, pork belly bites in bourbon and maple sauce were fantastic and the wings were amazing. Not sure I can pick which one was my favourite, they were all delicious. Girlfriend had the pulled pork burger, she loved it too. Will definitely be going again.

Great to see good kiwi ownership at its best. The owner greats you and makes you feel right at home. He is certainly a host many others can learn from, it was great to be made to feel so welcome in his restaurant. The Factory doesn’t look like much from the outside (or inside for that matter) but it’s the simplicity of this place that makes it so good. American style BBQ food cooked to perfection with good music to accompany.

Simply delicious! We got the double cheeseburger, onion rings, chicken tenders and corn on the cob. It was all amazing and we will definitely we coming back again. If you love delicious food and don't mind a simple decor - treat yourself and eat here.

We are from Wellington and I Googled "Gluten Free fish and chips". This place came up and I was astonished at the quality and price. Three decent pieces of completely GF fish (it was advertised as two); lots of yummy chips and salad. The salad was probably the weakest part of it but you don't really get F&C for the salad 😉 Outstanding - good price - highly recommended and will come back. (BTW there's only one place in Wellington City that has GF F&C - uber expensive and probably not as good as these.)

Good selection of basic dishes, large helping, well cooked and presented. I had a Vegas burger and my wife had calamari which she said was probably the best calamari she had tasted. Eight of us arrived at 5:15pm, got a drink and were served food remarkably quickly. Seating and decor is basic, but we weren't expecting fine dining. I'll be back!

A huge choice of burgers and sides on offer which suited all our different tastes. Portion sizes were generous and seemed good value for money. We loved the twist on the burger options available. Definitely somewhere you would need to book as very popular even at 5 pm when we went. Staff very friendly and quick service provided.

This place is simply awesome. Their menu is almost completely gluten free and celiac friendly. Their classic burger was a revelation. One of the best burgers I've ever had. My better half had the grilled fish burger on a gluten free bun and when I asked her how it as, she closed her eyes and whispered in my ear, "it was sooooo good". Their fries were also amazing. Just a great meal, our order was ready quickly, and the service was on point. 10/10, stuff my face with burgers again.

Without doubt the best place to eat in Rotorua. May look a little around the edges and the chef isn't always the most charming but dear lord it's good. Food is super quick to come out. The burgers are some of the best I've had in this country too. My favourite was the pork belly bites in orange soda glaze. Crispy on top, butter like below. Absolutely delicious. Absolute must if you are in town.

Amazing. Incredible range of burgers, buttermilk chicken was tasty and cooked to perfection. High quality chips and wonderfully tender squid rings. Gluten free , upon asking to only thing I couldn’t eat were the standard buns and garlic bread. Gf bun was one of the nicer ones I’ve eaten

The food was amazing and all 5 of us would highly recommend. One vegetarian option for hubby. 95% of the menu coeliac safe. And the three fussiest kids were all very happy. The highlight for all was the donuts. The owner who was front of house was friendly. Wish we didn't live 3hrs drive away or this would become a regular of ours.

Great local croucher craft beer selection. Of course it is all about the smoked meat and the pork belly was delicious with the bacon gravy. Very good fried chicken and a burger to rave about. The best thing though is the home made smokehouse sauce. They need to ottle it and sell it. One of the est sauces I have ever tasted and really elevates all of the food. They should serve it with everything whether you order it or not because you are going to want it whether you know it or not. Service was also very good. Polite but relaxed. Want to go back to Vegas to try some of the other menu items

This place is AWESOME. It's all about the barbecue and food. So glad to find this local place away from the rest Rotorua. It very modest from the outside -- definitely check it out. Parking is limited, so we street-parked around the corner. I had the Badass Double Bacon burger and ate the whole thing. :-)

Ordered the Vegas burger & chicken wings - the steak in the burger was a bit on the tough side but otherwise very tasty. Chicken wings unfortunately was very dry and hard. Chips were good. I would come back to try other items on their menu.

Best burger in new zealand. I am writing this review after having tried many, this was at the beginning of our trip in NZ but definitely ranks top. Good selection of beers too

Amazing for coeliacs! First question asked upon sitting down: “Any dietary requirements?” Everything, except for two items (garlic bread & mudcake), on the menu is gluten free. The fryer oil is clean/contamination free. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. I had onion rings for the first time in years!! Our food was delicious and fresh. Couldn’t recommend more.

We had a quick lunch here and were happy. The food was delicious, especially the beef burgers, the fries really fresh and the service good. We would come back!

Burgers were excellent. Ribs were disappointing. Tender and fell off the bone but lacked flavor (Rib Rub). A waiter would have been good. Having to go to the bar for more drinks while eating your meal was annoying. However it looked like it was just one bar manager on and the others were cooking. $140 for 4 mains and drinks was reasonable.

This is the place of yummy burger and smoked foods..... I love there burgers very. This is best burger in the town. There sitting area is really good arrangement. They having some high chair for kids and some bar chairs for drinks lover. They have lots of car parking available beside the shop. There entrance is very good for everyone like wheelchair friendly. Staffs are awesome friendly and very good service. I appreciate it guys. We will comeback again. Cheers

Best burgers I have in ages! Every single item was perfectly cooked and so delicious!

This place is heart achingly good. I almost don't want to post this because I want to keep it a secret. Every burger's a winner, each side a triumph. If they had root beer I'd never leave. Eye wateringly delicious food that speaks for itself, service that's good for the soul. These guys don't take themselves too seriously but seriously you should go RIGHT NOW.

Wow, the burgers are spectacular! There's not a lot else to say, we (a family of four) had a different burger each and each of us were blown away, delicious. Great to have local craft beer (Croucher) available as well. Fun, relaxed service in a (tbh) quite a sparsely 'decorated' setting but that pales into insignificance when you first bite down on your burger of choice.

Delicious food with lots of gluten free options, made with thought and care to be safe for people with celiac disease. I was impressed by the waiter asking all customers if they had any allergies before seating them, as it saved me the trouble of awkwardly bringing it up myself. Will definitely return to try out more!

The original premium burger is the best I ever had. Ribs are tenderly superb. Not too salty and unlike other outlets ribs, it does not make one feel thirsty after meal.

Biiiggg shout out to the staff here as my partner and I came in for dinner last night and the food was aammaaazinggg. The atmosphere was so good and the owner definitely knows how to work his magic by taking time out to tell us about the menu. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a good pig out. Salivating just thinking about the best pork belly bites in bourbon maple sauce I've ever experienced. Paired with dirty chips, it's a winner combo!! Awesome customer service and warm inviting atmosphere.

We have been many times and this place has never let us down. The current special the mooberry burger they with beef cheek was so tender and the blueberry bbq sauce I want a bottle of the stuff to have on everything even my two year old loved it and wanted more Not only is the food great but so is the service with friendly knowledgeable staff.

My friend and I ordered the onion rings, chicken tenders, fries and the fish and chips dish. The food was really good but served on take away dishes instead of the normal dine in plates - so not the best for environmentally friendly people and they provide restaurant prices but do not provide restaurant quality service, so wasn't too happy about that either but the food was good - and that's what is most important

Omg, what an amazing place. This is a celiacs dream. Everything on the menu is made from scratch and gluten free except for the burger buns and garlic bread. Go for the mixed BBQ and you will not regret it. The orange soda pop chicken wings are outstanding.

Sooo good! Nearly everything on the menu is gf. Just state gf on ordering. The 1st thing the front of house asked me was if I had allergies. So impressed with the friendliness and the food. Just amazing.

If they're trying to do American-style barbecue, it's a pretty poor imitation. Barbecue sauce was just like tomato sauce. Ribs were 70% fat. That being said, prices and service were good.
