We started the chefs suggestion of salmon and avocado and the oysters and then had the Crayfish Risotto and Kingfish Crudo
It’s nice to see someone actually using the name crayfish instead of trying to upmarket it as Lobster!
Oysters big and tasty with the raspberry vinaigrette
The Risotto. I cannot begin to tell you how good it is. Made with a home made bisque and LOTS of crayfish pieces. It is sublime. I can’t remember ever having one as good!
My partner had the Kingfish and it was equally as impressive as the Risotto
We tried the “new desert “ Banana with chocolate
Although the description sounds like an everyday dessert , trust me it’s not. Another must try.

Located just outside Russell, their shuttle service made it easy to reach, whether from downtown Russell or—like us—by boat with a pickup and return from Paroa Bay. The stunning views of the bay added to the uniqueness of the experience.
Our server’s wine recommendations were spot-on—we loved the bubbly paired with our appetizers and the red wine that complemented the main course perfectly. This spot came highly recommended, and I can confidently say it’s a must-visit for anyone in the area!

J. K.Wow, if you want a real beautiful fine dining experience with wait staff that are professional, attentive and thorough, this is the place. Such beautiful views, lovely wine and one of the best dining experiences I've had in a while.
And the fact you have a Vegan option is even better.

The view over the vineyard and bays was exquisite. The building and decor wonderful - just blended into the environment. The service was impeccable - friendly, knowledgeable, aware but not intrusive. The food was excellent - fresh, delicious, well presented.

J. P.The stunning view is only exceeded by the most delicious of foods, and well matched wines. Truly a delightful location to enjoy local produce, prepared to perfection. Take the time to enjoy it! And you might even get to see a moho pereru (Banded Rail) on the deck.

We were picked up from the passenger ferry in Russell by the Sage Van and dropped back off after we finished lunch. Incredible service! Could not recommend enough. We will all definitely be back!

Arrived just before dusk and enjoyed a great view of the profile of the Island and mainland landscape against the sunset.
Never really seen a menu with such variety. This is real class and lived up to its TV profile on Luxury Lodges.
We had entrées of sourdough with White Prawns from Queensland and Pork Dumplings and a really nice hot soup.
I had 12 hour cooked lamb ribs with dukkah coating and Sharlie had Nelson Salmon. Pinot Gris and Maude Pinot Noir went down very well. Price of meal was quite surprisingly reasonable. Highly recommended.

L. J.Yes, this is great fine dining, but we liked Terra in Paihia more, as there were just more flavors and combinations going on. We were staying in Paihia, so it was an adventure to get here, especially when weather is bad and the ferry isn't running. The wine pairings were really nice and service was friendly and attentive.
