Honestly amazingly delicious 😋. Love the fact there was a franchise who actually sold rice with their crunchy chicken 🍗🐓. The chicken was actually crunchy and the spice was actual hott🔥🥵. I wish drinks came with the meals for that price. Other than that I would be seen eating here as a regular ohhh and did I mention tidy setting area and oh and no wait times 😁👏🏽🤷🏽‍♀️

Nice fresh crispy fried chicken with lots of choices, my favourite are the spicy chicken strips and the hubby loved the big b burger. Burgers are of decent size so worth the price. Not really a fast option however as we had to wait 20-30mins both times we went. Great service though - they offered to upsize the drink for the long wait, and when they missed handing out the gravy mash for the combo, they compensated with an extra coleslaw. Would love to go again when we do visit Taupo.

I’d say this is the best fast food food I’ve ever eaten in New Zealand. The toasties was an absolute bomb. If you didn’t like vegetables you should get this one as you will only be served with some juicy chicken accompanied with spicy and scrumptious sauces that will leave you speechless. The coleslaw is also one of the best if not the best compared to other fast food branches. The fries are also very good and I would proudly say it is as good if not better than Maccas fries. The chicken popcorn is also amazing. The only thing lacking is there’s no sauce station which is non-existent in all other fast food places all around NZ. The prices are also very reasonable. Also they are certified halal. I hope there’s gonna be a branch in Christchurch if not in the whole of South Island soon.

No treat to KFC. The concept of fresh cooked chicken for every order is admirable but at 20 minutes per order means the fast food option is not a possibility. We were group of four who were having a catch up so the time was not a major but the environment is fast food restaurant ie no cutlery, no glasses, nothing but bottled coke etc. Chicken (3 options- Original- spicy and grilled. ) were all good but you have to be prepared to wait .......... and wait. Give it a go just for the experience maybe order by phone before leaving home.

Food was great, my partner & I tried it for the first time. The chicken was really crunchy however. All was nice but the delivery took about 45-50 minutes.

I am writing the review in April 2021. Only Halal fried chicken you can found in Taupo town. That means there is no other halal fried chicken around 100 KM. Next closest one is in Hamilton or Rotorua. If you are not looking for halal stuff, then of course there are KFC, Burger King, MacDonald’s everywhere. This is an easy place to find and close to number1 shous. Price = as usual standard price. Food Quality = Fried chickens are good, but sometimes they over fried the fries. Sale / Discount = Yes, some time they offer coupon deal, which is pretty good. Clean & hygiene = I found that clean and hygiene practice is good. Dine in Place= Yes there is a very good dine In place, compare to Auckland. Public Toilet = Yes, they have a public toilet, needs lot of improvement. Customer service = average customer service, guys always too busy to work in back, most of the no dedicated staff to taking order. Busy = this place sometimes really gets busy, so allow extra time if you want to visit on lunch/dinner time. Car Park = Yes there is a car park shared with other shop/ office around, car park is very limited. You may think to park somewhere close to number1 shoes and walk to the shop. It’s a very busy areas in taupe Town. You may consider parking somewhere close if parking is not available. View = there is no view at all except you can see the road hahah. However, Taupo lake is 200 meters far from the shop, so you may grab your food to close to lake and enjoy if weather permits. I usually go there.

Chicken is delicious and crispy, chips are awesome!!! Way better than KFC. Customer service was super friendly and quick service. Definitely recommend 👌

Recently been to Chicking Taupo again, just great to taste the same quality chicken, burgers & especially Toasties must everyone should taste once & their awesome service. They made all our order freshly, my family just could not stop eating and had to pack some for home too. I recommend to go everyone who are fed up with other big brand greasy chicken & bad service especially in Taupo.

The food was delicious, crispy crunchy chicken, the fries were cooked perfect. The mash & gravy was very different to what I thought it’d be BUT was yummy in its own way, it tasted more like chicken than what the kfc gravy tastes like - so I really enjoyed it. The fella behind the counter was super nice, the restaurant was nice, clean & relaxing

This place is a dream for anyone who wants something more from their local KFC. Great food, cheap, we spent $14 to feed two of us. This place would kill it in the New Plymouth region, and I would go there every week. Seriously.

Was busy and a little disorganized, good service, the guy I got was very friendly and helpful. We ordered a family feast in which the chicken was spicy where we ordered regular. The spicy was very average where the chicken was bland but there was a good amount of spice. The buns were great, potato and gravy was mediocre and watery, chips were a good consistency but over seasoned. I will give them the benefit of the doubt because they are very new, looking forward to see what their regular chicken is like

Wow what can I say, the second I saw this amazing Taupo Chicking I was blown away with how clean and inviting the store looked. I was greeted with smiling faces and very helpful service even though the staff were very busy. They were extremely patient with all my requests and questions. Our food was served very fast and my goodness the flavours and quality was just outstanding. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the Bbq Double Toastie went beyond our expectations and the tandoori chips were just the right amount of spice, very tasty might I add! I must say I have never met a team of staff that work so well together and truely put so much effort into producing great food and quality service. We will definitely be back!

Superb service from the wonderful team in Taupō. Fantastic healthy options that are incredibly well priced, and a fast-food restaurant that's actually a delight to dine at. It is obvious, from the excellent food and service - to the high standard of cleanliness, that this is a branch that takes great pride in their brand and establishment. A poor mans KFC. Chicken pieces arent really seasoned for full flavouring. Prices are cheap however customer service was a bit off. Guy behind counter was busy holding a personal conversation with a maintenance guy who he apparently knew well in the store and as a result, got my order completely wrong and incorrectly overcharged me 🤦‍♂️ aside from not paying attention whilst the store was very quiet and empty, the restroom toilet bowl was neatly coated in someones puke - perhaps from the night before 🤷‍♂️

👍🏼Great location, friendly staff and good food. I recommend as it’s the 2nd HALAL restaurant available after the KEBABS. 👎🏼 They definitely need more staff Taupo is super busy specially weekends. (Better over staffed than under) took my order almost an hour. It’s a long wait for 9pcs chicken & 2 bread rolls. Also they need to stock and prepare well as grill chicken was of the menu by lunch (got sold out).

Their service was good. Food was perfect. Have been there for many times now. Went there again today but the chicken had a bit of bad taste, not sure if it is not fresh chicking, but it is all good. Will be in there lator on during the year.
