Good place to try starters and mains in Tauranga. Enjoyed their Non-Veg Banquet. However, non vegeterian's prefer to have all 3 non-veg curries, instead of adding on 1 Veg curry in Non Veg Banquet. Other than that.. Everything is fine. Good service by staff...👍

Best indian in town by far. Generous portions and they make the best garlic naan bread. The gentleman working there opened the door for me as I was carrying my baby. I think the people moaning about masks, well it's the time we live in. Common sense tells you to wear one into a restaurant and take it off when seated.

Ambience is extremely good. Soft Indian music is played in the background. A lot of combos are available to choose from which is comparatively cheap. Take away is available which is an even cheaper option. Its a bar attached restaurant next to a countdown. Restaurant manager and other staff are friendly. Try butter chicken with naan or a smoked chicken biriyani.

Delicious food and great service! (I’ve been to the restaurant previously along with my mum and my husband. We enjoyed the generous banquet menu. I’ve included a photo of our first course. The whole meal was so yummy). Their takeaway orders and delivery service have been incredible also. In the lead up to NZ’s lockdown period, my mum ordered deliveries to her home. Raj was great on the phone taking orders and Khem delivered the delicious curries promptly with a great smile. I was video chatting my mum when he arrived at her house and saw him waving at us. Truly great service! We highly recommend Great Spice and look forward to going to the restaurant again once the lockdown period is over. Thank you Great Spice, Raj & Khem! :)

We had a short trip to Tauranga few weeks ago and I would like to share my experience with great spice restaurant was fantastic. We had a great time with my family and friends. Very friendly staff and delicious food, definitely worth it. Happy to go back again.

This place is outstanding. I have been to many restaurants in the UK. The home of a beer and curry. The Great Spice knocks them out of the field. I have been here many times. I have experienced the vast menu I can not find a fault with the food. Now let’s talk about the team excellent service, always made to feel welcome, fantastic people. All I can say is get down the the Great Spice Bureta you will never regret it.

I was blown away by the incredible service here! The staff were lovely and helpful. My partner and I ordered a chicken korma and a lamb korma- they were creamy and flavourful! The cheesy garlic naan was fresh and very cheesy. The restaurant was also very beautiful, clean and had great ambiance. I will be recommending this to anyone who comes to the area!

I built a website for Great Spice Tauranga. Khem & I managed to make an excellent website. While working on a website project, I tried their Palak Paneer. If you are vegetarian, you must try their palak paneer.

Great food, however the way they serve their food doesn't seem right.They take orders separately but give the Naan and rice in one plate/bowl. We ordered lunch deal, 7 dishes, so the 7 Naans came in 2 basket. We then ordered 2 more naans and they gave us the same amount. So this was abit confusing. We would love to come back as the food was nice but will make sure that dishes are separately served.Thanks.

I have just had fantastic experience from this restaurant. Back I September I ordered a meal for delivery for my partners birthday. The meal arrived about an hour late and I had the wrong dish even though what was delivered was lovely food. I went and made a complaint the next day. They took my comments on board and said next time we ordered they would compensate us. Tonight I ordered another meal 2- months later . Tonight the food not only turned up on time but the lovely lady that delivered it had remembered me and said it was free of charge we are both blown away . I expected free delivery this time not a free meal which was excellent. Fantastic service highly recommend I will have more takeaways from here now. Well done Guys 👍Andy Chard

Great food, great service (big compliments to the awsome waiter), and great ambience to boot. Very happy with this restuarant. The only negative I would personally give is that indian hot is not Indian hot but Tauranga is not known for spice tolerant retirees so I understand the business decision 😉.

We were given the recommendation to try so drove from Whakamarama and definitely not disappointed. Kids meals are a great size and the spice for our meals were spot on. We had the standard lamb korma and butter chicken but will definitively be back to try more dishes. My husband collected and said the staff were friendly and health and safety standards (under current level 3) were perfect and process was easy. Thanks so much.

Awesome delivery service with the same friendly staff we see at the restaurant. We put our order in and it arrived piping hot at exactly the time we asked for the delivery to be made. Our meal was excellent, just as good as we get when we dine in at the restaurant. See you in Bureta after the Covid-19 restrictions are over.

Food is great but to be really honest I prefer quaint restaurants with more character. Trouble is there is no parking down the strand. Parking is easier in the burbs ... unfortunately. Especially when you need a disability park an yr disabled partner has to try an walk.

Visited on a Thursday night for takeaway. Restaurant was busy so there was a bit of a wait, but they did have a number of tables to serve. Twenty minutes later we were home tucking into a pretty decent meal. My tikka masala was the best I've had in a long time. Big portions too. Well worth a visit. Will book a table next time.

Went to this restaurant for a Birthday celebration. The service is great, very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Lovely décor, clean and very spacious. We ordered the banquet. Food was devine although it did take quite a while to come out of the kitchen. We ordered everything medium heat but oh my god it was pretty damn hot. If you can't handle heat then go for the milder version. Our 10 year old ate her meal but needed quite abit of water. The naans were honestly the best I've ever had, light and crispy, and very tasty. My son in law who is Indian thought the food was great, which just confirms what the rest of us thought. Very reasonably priced, good parking with other amenities within walking distance.

This is the best curry in town, complete with goat curry you wont find in many other Indian restaurants. The drinks are alway cold and there is a great selection. Wether you dine in or take away this is an awesome spot with authentic food.was disappointed when the Plaza renovations meant the Great Spice Restaurant closed, however the food is just as good from the new food court! You will never want to eat a store bought naan again once you taste theirs!

Absolutely THE best punjabi style Indian restaurant in tauranga. The Cheesy garlic naan bread is honestly THE most delicious thing I've put in my facehole for MONTHS. The service is absolutely impeccable. Do not even bother heading out for dinner if you dont go here.

The blend of spices just seemd to be perfect, good portions and reasonably priced. Parking and collection easy and accessible. Well done to the unseen chef at the action end !
