Reviews of La Cantina Tauranga
R.I had beef schnitzel Diane and husband had the beef Parmigiana. They were huge and tasty mains. We ordered Hasselback potatoes to go with our meal which were simply divine. Washed the meal down with a glass of Chilean Shiraz. Couldn't fit in dessert.

Schnitzel was very nice.
We had beef and chicken schnitzels with wedged and thin cut chips.
They were all good and decent sizes.

K.Great food and service! The vegan options are impressive and so delicious! So glad to see so many vegan options! Took picky eaters and they loved their meals as well! The server was attentive and very kind! Will highly recommend this place to friends and family! Will definitely be back!

N.Had to try this schnitzel / milanesa eatery, since I don't know any other place in Tauranga that serves Argentinan schnitzels 😀 Totally up to my expectations given that we are in NZ. I had the chicken napoli (suprema napolitana) and my partner the beef mediterranean. Both really tasty, crumbly and seasoned perfectly (as an argentinian schnitzel). Sides were coleslaw (nothing argentian here hehe), then fries or potato salad. I have to say that the potato salad wasn't my taste since it had gerkins in it (probably a kind of german style or kiwi...not sure)...I was expecting my potato salad with onions and a dressing.
They also sell alfajores and other pastries which I haven't tried but definitely will! I was really hoping for them to sell Flan with Dulce de leche as dessert, but wasn't on the menu...maybe in the future? 😉
I found the place to be more an argentinean eatery , hence the name, so the schnitzels you'll find will be on the argentinean taste side rather than european (very similar anyway). No pork schnitzel here.
Totally recommend the place 👌 Good quality for money. And a little corner for us argentineans looking for some comfort food that remind us of home.

E.A familiar aroma catches me as I stroll by. Pleasantly caught off guard I open the door to an agreeably lit diner. The theme, simple yet sophisticated, is reminiscent of an upmarket London rooftop bar. However, slightly more quaint, as if a skilled, early 1960s, Japanese postmodern artist had taken it upon himself to recreate what one would expect a London rooftop garden bar to look like.
I'm cordially ushered in and presented with a table. As I sit down the staff, an affable bunch, engage me with enthralling chit chat. I come to learn the eatery turns out to be an alliance of most unlikely sorts. Through a series of (what I can only assume were) uncommon events three individuals , one German, one Indian and one Argentinian, arrived at the conclusion to start a schnitzel house in Tauranga. I can only thank the gods they did so.
The schnitzel, internally moist and externally crisp, melts in the mouth. The crunch and texture, enough to knock you to your feet from a standing position taken in times of such excitement, is outmatched only by the lingering infusion of smells which ruminates in the olfactory cortex.
The ambiance superlative, the staff exquisitely congenial and the food eruptively passionate. A must visit for any passer by.

R.It's my first time to try the cuisine at La Cantina and I rate it to 4 for now. The Prawn Salad is tasty just enough seasoning, shrimps were cook evenly and tender. It goes well with the salad. Probably next time if I will order the coffee should be one shot so it would not taste strong for me. Overall, I recommend it for people who loves a chill place like La Cantina or spend time with your friends or family over lunch or dinner. I will check out their dinner meal soon 😊🙂

J.Ordered takeaway and wasn't disappointed. Great portions, tasty selection of sides and sustainable packaging. When I went in to pickup my order I was impressed at the interior, and will definitely be back for a dine in experience. Staff were really freindly and great to see a new dining option in Tauranga that isn't a pub or a curry house. Good luck, you guys will do well! Oh, and who doesn't love schnitzel!?! Yum yum 😋😻
