Had a lovely dinner here with the family. 2 for 1 Wednesdays are definitely the best time to come for families who couldn't usually afford to eat out. Great Mexican food, catering to all including kids. Great atmosphere but the music was a little loud. Coming from someone in their 20s who likes her music loud in the car but not in a restaurant

Such a great place. Food and drinks couldn't have been better. Great flavours. Service was good despite them being very busy. Bill was very reasonable and we thought it would be much more. Totally recommend and will tell others. Great atmosphere and premises as well. Probably the only complaint was the way the dining noise seemed amplified in the small space, but it was busy so not any fault of theirs.

I had the fried chicken tacos and they were amazing. Don't have them if you're one of those sad people who can't eat coriander though. They went down real nice with a michelada. I had two instead of three because you know sometimes if you have too much it's not as good? So I had two and it was perfect.

Huge location with plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. The cheese dip is a MUST but it's so huge you could probably eat it as a main. They have $5 frozen margarita specials, which are yummy on a hot afternoon. The portions are generous so I would recommend sharing it all tapas style. Great for groups and for parties.

Food was amazing! Me and my partner came for a dinner to share and had nachos for starters, then tacos, fajitas and quesadillas. Everything came with a lot of toppings in big portions. Pulled pork tacos were the best in my life ❤️ we left full and happy :)

I've frequented this restaurant on many occasions, generally dragged along by others. It's noisy and hectic. The food is ok but not great, eating here is a chore. On a positive note I always enjoy leaving, as Grey Street by comparison is an oasis of peace and quiet at 9:00 on Saturday night. So what, exactly, is the problem? Picture tables full of middle-aged and elderly people shouting over one-another to be heard. Another table may have a group of women, like a hen party but without purpose, all jabbering away at the same time. Adding to the melee is a couple of tables with excited children yelling and running around. And here's me sitting with my family, wondering how I ended up here, when I really should have known better. Edit: extra stars for the amusing reply!

This is amazing Mexican food. The picture chips con queso & a side of guacamole was very good, queso was good amount of spicy. I had the carne burrito which I recommend. It was a very delicious lunch & my wife enjoyed her chicken tacos.

Food it self was O.K. It does seem very generic, and not authentic. But in saying that I ate all of my meal and couldn't complain about it. The main down side is the noise that echoes off the concrete walls. It made it almost impossible to carry conversation. We didn't stay long as we couldn't sit, chill and enjoy a leisurely meal. Don't think I will be returning.

Service was ok, had a mistake in order ordered full size x2 but entree size came, so when the second one came the first one was cold, it would be nice if we could have all warm together. The food was nice though, lovely sauce. I like to try other menus next time.

Awesome place to eat with family and friends. They have a different special deal every day, and is great value for money with generous sized meals. Turn around is pretty quick and although you don't feel rushed, the food does come out thick and fast. Certainly not for those looking for a romantic candlelit dinner, but great for a party or dining as a group. Bookings only seem to be needed for larger parties.

Hi, I attended Barrio Brothers Tauranga on Friday 22/03/2019 for a birthday party. The service was excellent, the food above enjoyable. A very good night had by all. We had several different dishes were selected, all were of high quality and enjoyed by all. I would recommend this Resturant to all who enjoy a large variety of Mexican Food of High-Quality Regards Kad. This place is fantastic. From the moment we arrived the front house waitress was welcoming and very knowledgeable on all aspects of the menu. The meal sizes were excellent and well presented as well as delicious. Washed down with margaritas we left with full tums and a experience that was real yum Thanks Team will be back for more soon.

always liked the one at the mount, however don’t go to this one often. very very loud, hard to hear anything. food was really good but get to paying and they don’t accept pressy cards; which i thought was a universal thing considering it’s like a visa, and that i’ve never been anywhere that doesn’t accept them. left us there totally stumped on how to pay. maybe worth investing in some signage to say that you can’t use pressy cards, probably won’t return to this branch

This is a great little find! Beautiful Mexican food, with lovely subtle flavours and considerably more authentic than you find in many other Mexican restaurants. Nice variety of dishes too and even a good selection of desserts.

Dinner was lovely the staff were friendly. Unfortunately at the end of the night we were heading off one of my friends is in a wheelchair. We asked a staff member for assistance with the lift. A young woman was in a rush, she appeared to have no experience with wheel chairs she hopped on the lift while my friend was going which was fine. The lady hopped on the lift while She was going up when we got to the top she was in a rush to get her off she fell off out of her wheel chair and hurt herself.

Been to Barrio brothers since it originally opened as Flying Burrito brothers and have personally had great experiences, food is always pretty consistent though when they're busy they can sometimes get a little messy. Great to take kids as they have an awesome kids menu for kids to pick from a few options for a full three course meal at a cheap price, they also often give discount vouchers for your next visit.

When people ask for child friendly restaurants to go to in Tauranga I always recommend flying burrito brothers. The food is delicious and they have a great kids menu, bringing our corn chips and colouring in pens straight away to keep the kids occupied. The music playing means that no-one is bothered by loud toddlers and the booths are great for keeping them contained. It is also a great place to go for work drinks, girls nights etc with delicious mojitos and the best mocktails menu I have come across and there is often live music being played in the bar area. It is excellent for large groups and small groups alike. There are also some good options for vegetarians. Definitely one of my go to places.

From the street you don't see a whole lot of this interesting place, but descend the short stairwell and find yourself in a spacious atrium then follow your host to an atmospheric cosy table with intriguing hangings in lit alcoves in the wall. With a ceiling that feels low (I'm 5'9") with dim hanging lights, most of the illumination comes from the walls, and it really makes the place feel... warm, comforting. The staff are friendly and attentive, without the annoying asking how things are just when you've started eating. The area is patrolled (not the best word haha) unobtrusively and help is available whenever you need. My order was for the rib eye steak done medium, and it came out very nice indeed. The herbacious butter on the steak was good, and the potatoes were in a very interesting cheesy sauce and the flavours blended well when combined. I'm looking forward to going again.
