W.Wonderful cafe tucked in behind a lane, so it is easily missed from the main street. We stumbled across this cafe for dinner, as others were full and they had a sign on the footpath. Perfect for us with kids, as there is a kids menu and the food came out fast. Reasonably priced and delicious food. Great friendly service also
S.New owners are nailing it!!! We went back twice. Regret not trying there meals sooner in our ten day stay. I had the Rooster Burger, husband had the beef burger both were very tasty and well cooked. We also went for breakfast and had eggs Benedict and the mighty croissant, also cooked perfectly and excellent value. Friendly staff, crafts being retailed from the community market, and licensed cafe. We have been to every cafe in town, and this one is our favourite.
K.A lovely cosy, warm little cafe. The man who served us was friendly and welcoming, and checked on us a couple of times to make sure the food was ok. The banana and caramel cake was amazing. I will definitely be back next time im in Te Anau.
A.Excellent service, great value for money & food was yum! Staff & service was very friendly & food/drinks came out in a very timely manner. We went in for dinner post our Routeburn hike; although a tad famished, we were so stoked with our meals, notably great value for money. Ordered the cheesecake dessert for takeaway (zero regrets there too). Highly recommend!
s.This restaurant is under new management - we have had 3 absolutely wonderful meals there, including the one we are currently eating. Nice presentation, tasteful meals and friendly service -exactly what I ask for from a food outlet. Well worth a few visits

R.Popped across the road from the preferred cafe of the coach bus tour to Milford Sound. They make a great long black and cappuccino, and the homemade salted caramel muffin is particularly good. A warm and inviting atmosphere, thanks to the overhead heaters. There’s also plenty of outdoor seating for the warmer days. Pretty reasonable selection of homemade sweet and savoury fare on offer.
Z.Great food here and the staff was incredibly accommodating and thoughtful. Snapper was fantastic and couldn't eat it fast enough. Chicken curry was also delicious and asked for an additional side of rice (a suggestion for the Asian visitors). Give them any suggestions and they will adjust. They even came up with gluten option!

S.This lamb shank deal of the day for two (at 27.50) was just the best dinner ever. Two generous portions of lamb on a bed of yummy mashed potatoes. The gravy was so great we asked for extra. We also had a great breakfast here for an extremely reasonable price (9.50) - fried eggs, bacon slices, cheese and two slices of multigrain bread! They also have plenty of options for the sweet toothed! Must visit when in Te Anau!

O.Pretty disappointing serving size, and the plates were cold. Egg was extremely nicely poached though! Coffee was a bit weak. Everything came out nice and quickly.

K.We popped down here for a coffee and snack. I had the mousetrap and it was the nicest and tastiest mousetrap I've had. Totally delicious! The mocha and flat white was also made very well. Hubby had a cheese and onion scone and that was very tasty as well.

C.I love the whole atmosphere of the place, it's super chill. Everything from their professionalism to their food is top notch. Crikey, they even had table service that I ain't had, since I was in the U.S.A, back in 2000.

R.Holy smokes please get the fish pie, you will not be disappointed. My husband got the chicken sandwich and was also quite happy. It's clearly all homemade with lots of care. Staff was lovely as well and everything came out quickly. Don't waste your time on garlic toast, that was dumb on our part

Meal was very average, my sons soup was delicious, however my calamari was oily and covered in a bulk bought honey mustard sauce that was far too intense. The other meal we bought was over dressed as well that made it hard to eat.

A.We ate "late-ish" on a Friday evening when things in Te Anau were definitely winding down. We were hungry and a little tired, so really appreciated the friendly greetings and quick service. The food was fresh, flavoursome and plates thoroughly devoured by these diners. My partner had the salmon, I had chicken, both meals of good size and well presented.

E.We decided on The Olive Tree Cafe after another cafe in town was too full to seat us, and we're glad we tried it out. When we walked up we thought it was closed as we didn't see anyone at the walk up counter, but were greeted promptly when we went inside. I got Skipper's Chicken which I wasn't expecting to be fried, but it was good nonetheless. Servers were very nice and the food is resonably priced with generous portions.
C.We went here because our bus broke down on the way to Milford Sound and they dumped us in Te Anau while they figured out how to get us home. The cashier was absolutely lovely, saw that we were really put out, gave us a free coffee and recommended another company to book with for the next day. This is a cozy little cafe, but mostly I just wanted to express how wonderful this cashier was for us on Thursday. Thank you so much, you really turned our day around.
H.Friendly service and excellent food. Relaxed place with tables inside, some out front and yet more at the back, in a cosy courtyard. Had lunch before heading up Milford Highway, went again when we came back down, because we like it so much. If you have a sweet tooth, I highly recommend their Caramel Banana roll.
M.This place was recommended by our landlady. It's a homly place and seems to be family run. The portions where big and delicious. We had the sea food chowder and a burger, both excellent. The prices are avarege to the area (which means high), but this is to be expected. Try this place if you have the opportunity.

S.We wanted to takeaway lunch, as we were heading to cruise from Manapouri. We didn't find any restaurants in Manapouri, so came to this restaurant in Te-Anua. We ordered veg wrap and veg burger with fries. Sinceit was takeaway, we asked for salt and pepper sachets, but unfortunately they didn't have any. As we expected the food was with less salt and spices. Overall taste of on average.

You'll spend a bit of a premium here (it's Te Anau, guys), and you'll spend a hell of a lot of time trying to work out what you're going to eat because it all sounds delicious... Based on the selection we had, it'll all be delicious. Portion sizes are very large, which meant we weren't able to try more, so we actually left both satisfied and disappointed!
The staff are great and a really good laugh. It's tucked away off the main drag and doesn't look like much but it's really, really worth it.

C.Came here twice in our adventure and had a great experience. Note for Americans traveling to new Zealand though.. just avoid the milkshakes. They don't have much thickness to them and you are better off sticking to things new Zealand is known for, like a flat white or other coffees

I.(Translated) In the center of the town but with a hidden seat and good outdoor seating, it is suitable for a meal or a cup of coffee when the weather is good. Ordered a special steak and a seafood dish. The portion is only 18 yuan but it is not particularly delicious. The seafood plate is great, the ingredients are rich, there are fried fish, fried squid, mussels, shrimp and chips, lettuce, the bottom layer also has bread, and the sauce is also very good! 25 yuan is still affordable
