Great service friendly staff. Lovely meal. Would recommend as a place to go.

Modern decor spacious good large tables. Cool on a hot day. Good parking and wheelchair access. Great staff good coffee. Didn't order anything else.

Great place to have a meeting in their side room. Went there also last year for my mother's birthday good food

A Stunning environment to enjoy the best Scotch fillet in the Waikato, The tastiest potato stak accompanies this meal also. Potatoe lovers will not be disappointed;)

Just dropped in for a dessert only. It was Saturday night and very busy, so we had A bit if a wait until our order was taken.(hence 4 stars not 5). But when our desserts arrived they were worth the wait. They were delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly. We decided to sit on the comfy leather sofa in the library corner. Very quirky and we will definitely go back and sample the main menu. The wine was delicious too.

Took a good friend today for lunch, what a great place. Staff were great, professional and accommodating, menu was not huge, but very complete. I chose the eggs bene with pork belly, and my friend chose the fish and chips, both great meals, served well, in a timely and professional manner. Ordered coffee, it was prompt and delicious. Liked the place so much we booked a family function for next month, and are looking forward to sharing out new favourite with the family!!

Awesome venue! I’m vegan, and while there wasn’t much on the menu that was vegan, the chef was really accommodating and whipped up an amazing dish. Our server Niven was so lovely, and helpful. Great party! Only reason this isn’t 5 stars is that it was a Little bit loud, and we had to sort out the table arrangement for a larger party, but staff were accommodating and friendly and everything got sorted out.

Nice place. Went for dinner, steaks we cooked perfectly but cold when we got them and the purple carrots needed more cooking. Otherwise, nice food. Will go back to try again.

Great food and atmosphere. Attentive staff and the food was awesome. Loved the corner with the library of old books where you can sit and read or as I did reminisce.

They fitted us in on very short notice on Mother's Day, even though they were fully booked. The service was great and the meal was excellent. We will definitely return.

Wow bloody wow, Interior & furnishings represents the restaurant name. Very spacious, Service very quick, customer service excellent. Menu: Easy to select from, not a busy menu. Food: Top of the line, best in TA. Worth every cent & more.

Recently spent our 20th wedding anniversary shared with our best friends 19th anniversary at the storyteller. Im not easily impressed but the food was sensational. Amazing cocktails but none of that was the best thing. It was the staff, ive eaten all over the world and all over nz. And by far the best service. Immediately i felt at ease and the fun knowledgeable staff were very accommodating with our requests of non menu items. I hope the owners read this as a great team can make a business. We can finally dine in Te Awamutu again as we have not been impressed with waht the town really has to offer. Well done again guys and keep up the great work. We will definitely be back.

Amazing us the word - I was meeting my Daughrer & 5yr old Grandaughter fir Brunch - I waited there for Ages - I was welcomed and Not disturbed - I could have read one of their books. Everything we ordered was perfect and Most enjoyable - Me - Yummy - Creamy mushrooms Daughter - Porkbelly - She said Yum 5yr old had the Kids Picnic box - Wow! she Enjoyed Everything The meal came in a nice wooden box - and everything was contained in the box - so Pesentation was Great! - She Loved the raw carrot sticks - but not the Celery sticks which She Never likes.- we ate the celery (fresh and crunchy) - She liked the Hummus (we tasted it - it was fresh and so delicious) - She just Loved the extra Long fries and the Beef slider - There were also fresh fruit slices - again she Loved them - Then came desert - A nice small bowl of Ice cream with chocolate covered toasted Popcirn - She just Loved Everything - usually she talks Lots but Her Picnic Box kept her Busy eating and at the end She said - ooh! I am Full! We were All happy and content Thank you Storyteller eatery - we said We will come back again!

Not gonna lie, we chose the chacuterie platter for the smoked kahawai paté but the seed crackers turned out to be another star! (I was so tempted to ask for the recipe!) 😉 Will definitely be back!

When the Chef will make an omlette that's not on the menu it tells you something about the customer service focus of an eatery. Fab omlette, great service.
