S.Fantastic food. The lamb shank was soo succulent it fell off the bone. Pizza was delicious, and I loved the sundae. Great staff. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.

A.We loved it here today. Loved the meat that I could cook myself to my preffered doneness on a big slice of stone. What a clever idea! The sauces were delicious, too, as well as everything else. Our kids had chicken nuggets and they really loved the side salad, which they usually don't. Will definitely be back when we come to Waitomo again.

A.This is a surprisingly cosy place when you consider the barn-like dimensions, but a very effective log-burner keeps it warm in the winter months. We went there twice eat out of the 3 nights we had in Waitomo. The wedges were good as were the pork ribs. However, the second night's steak was definitely better than the first. Nice fries. Lovely mulled wine and reasonable prices.
K.Stopped here for lunch. Great local bar with a good menu. Prices are good too. We ordered a steak, homemade beef and ale pie and a roast beef dinner. The roast beef was okay, the steak was good and great value for money and the pie was delicious. Friendly staff and would come here again.

C.We had lunch here recently for our work team day. We had 25 people, so I pre-ordered the food, all the guys raved about the food. Great large meals, really good prices. And just a short 5min walk to the glowworm caves tour that we were going after lunch.

A.Best pub I’ve been to in years, all staff were helpful and friendly and the publican was a good bloke, Very friendly with all the customers while there. Ordered mussels and 2 serves of ribs between myself and my partner and all were really good, the mussels especially was prob the best I’ve had cooked at a restaurant. Beer was cold, and food was fast. When we were leaving I tried to find out where to buy some water as our accommodation didn’t have any, and everything else was closed so the publican cleaned us a bottle and filled it up for us. Will definitely be back next time we go back through. Cheers.

S.As the name suggests this is a bar and eatery. My friend and I enjoyed a chilled glass of wine with a shared platter, much like a ploughman's. We were very impressed with it as it had a great balance of warm and cold foods, healthy and a little unhealthy. Unfortunately the coffee machine was broken on our visit and had to wait for the staff member to finish chatting to a friend to serve us but that's part of the relaxed atmosphere as no one is in a rush lol

b.Waitomo local catering for the 1000s of tourists visiting this area. They seem to be doing the food service well though I didnt dine on my short stay.
I was extolled the virtues of the locally produced ( King Country brewing )pale ale which I sampled. It was definatly as good as was said. Served in an English pint as well. Well done!
There iced water tap is a nice touch, you dont see this very often.
I posted a pick of their range of local brewed beers. Do try it.

M.I was in Waitomo on a Friday night and there wasn't much open. I had a chicken and bacon burger at the Tomo Bar and Eatery and it didn't disappoint. Would eat here again.

G.Location is lovely. Drink and food selection is good, but sadly they completely forgot our order, in spite of us having a number on our table. It's more than likely you will have a better experience than we did, as it is a popular choice and recommended by locals.

B.My friends and I went for dinner on a Saturday night. They have a limited menu after 9pm and only serve bar snacks. We ordered two fish and chips and the mini hot dogs around 9:15. After about an hour, we inquired about our food. Apparently there was some confusion with our order and the kitchen never got it. They assured us that we would get our food soon and kindly offered us a round of drinks as an apology. Another 30 minutes went by and we finally got our meals which we quickly devoured (at that point it was almost 11pm and we were starving). Overall, the food was mediocre. The staff were nice and handled our situation the best they could but I wasn't overly thrilled with my experience there and wouldn't go out of my way to go back. 😐

N.Food was surprisingly good, but the service left something to be desired. The deserts were excellent and I had a really nice burger made fresh and the onion rings were perfect.
But I honestly felt like we were bothering the staff the entire time we were there. It felt uncomfortable the whole time we were there.
In truth, there aren't many options around, and if you do go I suspect you'll enjoy your meal. Just don't expect service with a smile.

My Mrs had a steak cooked to a perfect medium rare, and I had a Hawaiian pizza that had the dough and cheese just falling off of the tray. What made the experience so special was actually the people who work there. Being on holiday from the states, we truly enjoyed talking to Shane about the area as well as all of our experiences in NZ. Thank you Shane for a great time at Tomo Bar and Eatery! We look forward to coming back!

L.I would say the food is great. We visited this place for dinner after Ruakuri cave's tour. Food came in big portions and very tasty. We were a group of 13 people incl.children. No one left dissapointed.
