Beautiful dinner for 3. All of us had steak, all different, all perfectly cooked. Then to top off we each had the Sticky Date Pudding. Wow. Easily one of the best sticky date pudding we've ever had. So full, so delicious. We'll be back for sure.

I was in TIMARU for a couple days and stopped in at Bullock Restaurant & Bar for dinner. I’ve had the steak here a few times before and it has never disappointed, so I thought I’d try something different. The Apricot Chicken In Philo Pastry caught my eye and sounded delicious. It was spectacular and my new favourite meal at Bullock Bar. The pastry was perfectly crispy & flaky, and the chicken was smooth and melts in your mouth. Absolutely delicious and surprisingly filling. I’m not generally a salad guy, but even the salad was spectacular. The chips were crispy and crunchy, and all in all a highly recommended meal. I was on my own, so I had my dinner in the The Bar area, and the range of beers on tap didn’t disappoint either. Was watching some rugby game replays which gave enough time to make space for dessert. A Chocolate Tasting Plate and a Cappuccino to finish off a great meal in a great restaurant. I’ll be back again! Thank you Bullock staff for an exceptional evening, and hats off to the chefs! I’ll be back!

Booked ourselves and two children for dinner here and honestly could not fault anything about our experience. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly, polite and helpful but without being pushy as in some places. We had more than one person come and check in/take orders but all appeared to be aware of who had already come to take an order for food or drink and there was no overlap. The food was reasonably priced for what we received. The kids meals and my own burger meal was large and was great tasting for what it was - particularly my Southern Comfort Chicken burger which had really good flavours.. My husband ordered a filet steak and it was cooked perfectly as to what he requested and again had nice flavours. The sundae of the day was brilliant also! Overall a fantastic meal out and will be back again!

Went for family dinner, staff made us very comfortable since beginning. Food was TASTY! and service was on point considering they had full restaurant, overall aura was quite nice for a family and our waitress put an extra effort eith kids. We only realised when our waitress apologised for any inconvenience that they have 3 new very young staff just started at Bullock with in a week while paying the bill.

No mask wearing by staff, don't have a problem but we had the waitress come up at least 4 times talking away, was a bit paranoid when eating food... Felt that was uncomfortable.

Bullock Bar did the out catering for my wedding. They did a great job, everyone raved about the food! Would recommend them to anyone.

The fillet steak 500g was decent size and you don’t need any appetisers. Do recommend extra sauce. Had a drink and total bill was 43$. Taste was good but you can’t compare this to a steak house such as Jervois or other big brands. Salad with steak needs to improve. Taste 4/5, Value 3/5. Staff r very helpful Enjoy.

This is an amazing place, the food is absolutely fantastic. My advice start with the cob loaf filled with a cheese sauce, corn and bacon. My partner had the pork belly which was very nice, I had the lamb, it was so good that it fell apart with a fork. The gravy and veges it came with were divine. Lastly I had the creme brule, OMG, This place needs 10 stars to do it justice. Enjoy!!!

I was out with friend's for a meal and it was raining hard outside. The atmosphere was great for a group of people to enjoy a meal. I had been before the ownership changed and the meals were huge, too much to enjoy. I had a filet steak and it was really good and not too large just enough. The staff were pleasant and attentive. The only down side would have to be the surroundings not for a romantic night out but good for groups.

Very busy on a Saturday night. Good atmosphere, good sized meals, catering for gluten, dairy and vegetarian options. Excellent service but they forgot my husband's coffee at the end of the meal. Extremely quick with bringing out our meals, within 10 minutes of ordering!! Ideal for families but not for a romantic night out - too loud!!

Fantastic food and top service from the wait staff. I had the duck and it was beautiful. Cooked to perfection with beautiful complimentary flavours of crisp clean beans,carrot, brocolli, baby beets and orange. My husband had the pork ribs for starters and the chicken filo which he loved. The wait staff were very attentive and friendly. We are looking forward to going back and trying more dishes in the menu.

Absolutely 10/10, awesome dining experience all-round, I got the mozzarella chicken and it was delicious and cooked to perfection and at a very reasonable price. The meal size was more than enough and I doubt a lesser man would have finished it!!! Will definitely come again when I'm next passing through thanks guys.

My husband loved his steak, kids had a fab meal, I ordered an entree as I wasn't that hungry and ended coming out a main size, on the plus side I took it away with me. Friendly attentive staff who were amazing with the children

The service was amazing and the food was great. However, was very disappointed to see that this chain still uses plastic straws. I would have liked to have been asked if I wanted a plastic straw as many other common restaurant chains ask this same question now. Bullock has an over all great and welcoming environment; but please stop using plastic straws, or alternatively ask your customers if they want one.

There was a fire alarm issue tonight. The starf were polite and effective. Kept us safe and after a short break we returned and our meals were made again quickly. Also a free drink. Definitely a problem handled well.

At last a restaurant in Timaru where you get a decent feed! A throwback to the good old days of the grill rooms, comfort food, before all this namby pamby designer food was brought in, and you left the restaurant still hungry! I was very impressed, with the service, professional, courteous, the meal well presented, steaming hot, and delicious! My only gripe, how about a good old rump steak as well? I liked the decor, and loved looking at the man in black Johnny Cash whilst dining. Outstanding! This would be the best place to eat in Timaru.

Had a fantastic night in their ponderosa bar to celebrate Warrens Birthday. Was awsome and the food was amazing. The girls did a super job behind the bar and keeping an eye on things. Would definitely recommend and use the Pondarosa Bar again.

Dinned there Saturday 31st March 2018, the lamb was recommended by my cousin. 10/10 Chefs keep that up, that was the nicest Lamb + mashed veg, the greens were steamed not boiled to within an inch of their life, and the Jus was delicious!! And finally a meal that was hot!! I have already recommended your restuarant to some friends. The waitress that served us was friendly, I did ask if we could get a smaller meal for my Aunty, and was told not possible, I think that could be looked at? Aunty really wanted a Roast type meal.
