R.Food is nice but I wish service should be consistent with Everyone dining in as we were served later than to those whom just got in the restaurant. Very frustrating.

A.China City make the best orange beef in nz hands down. The wontons are big and tasty and as we try different things on the menu we haven't found anything we don't like. You can dine in or takeaway. Always friendly staff too. Try them you won't regret

We go at least once a month and the food ha never disappointed me. The fried banana for dessert is so delicious to!
T.The lunch deal is pretty good value for money at $13, which gets you an entree, a main, and a dessert. The service is interesting. The food kind of gets thrown at you on delivery, and I was disappointed (and a little grossed out) to see the waiter piling dirty plates onto a tray that also happened to hold food yet to be delivered to other tables. The tray of dirty dishes was then placed onto a clean table which then was given to the next people to arrive. 1½ stars for service, and 3 stars for the food.

R.We had takeaways from this restaurant, the quality and quantity was fantastic, very clean tasty food. We've had a few times there in the past when had a menu meal and a couple of smorgasbord type meals as well and have always come away well satisfied in taste, quality and definitely full. Will use again for takeaways especially. Left overs also gave us a great lunch the next day.

B.Food excellent. Staff running. Almost an hour before entre served then another 20 minutes before mains served. Rice brought out 5 minutes after meat dish. Food 5 star but rating downgraded due to excessive delays. Table next to us got up to complain at long delay between entre and main.
K.Wonderfully friendly & welcoming staff. We had the set menu for two & it was plenty (we had a small bit left over to take away but not much lol)
Entreè of wontons & spring rolls was a great starter then delicious chicken & sweetcorn soup. Beef & vegetables arrived on a sizzling plate, chicken & cashew nuts, sweet & sour pork and egg fried rice was all delicious so we ate far too much as we just kept nibbling long after we'd had enough lol
Will definitely return!
S.Great place, and service, first time here, family party of 7, kids menu was great and a.good price, rest of us chose a set menu for 6 adults, and what a yummy and large selection of fresh food. We opulent eat it all and took the rest home.

L.You have not lost your touch! 😍 After many years, I’ve chosen China city as my first ‘post-lockdown’ takeaway experience, and it did not disappoint! Everything was cooked perfectly, with the flavours on point - the crunchy veg with the softest tofu, the tang of the crispy orange beef. Nothing was overcooked! I’m only sorry it took me so long to rediscover you. 😊

We often get take out from here. The guy on the desk is amazing - always super helpful, friendly and does his job well.

The dinner for two is exceptional value, and their food is gluten free which is great for my girlfriend.
They have meals from a single person, up to a 10 person banquet... Something I will be trying sometime!

M.My son shouted me for lunch in this Asian Restaurant for the first time. That was what made the whole experience memorable. I've had dim sum before and it unfortunately doesn't measure up. The meat wasn't tender enough and they ran out of some of the things we wanted. I wonder why they can't make enough.
A.We've had take away Chinese several times from here, and it has always been great. They have a good selection and the service is good too. They are pretty quick at preparing the food. They are not the cheapest, but it is pretty good value.
K.A favorite of ours always a good meal. Price not to bad. Love the soups. Staff are friendly and the young guy front of house makes you feel most welcome.

R.My favorite Chinese restaurant, they do the best sweet n sour pork, if your doing pick up to call first as it can be a bit of a wait in peak hour times due to popularity, great to dine in for big groups.
N.China City is always a good choice when trying to find a place to eat in Upper Hutt. The food is consistently good and the service is always great. Some of my favourite dishes are Orange Beef, Combination Fried Rice and Beef in Black Bean Sauce.
