Reserved table for 7 for dinner. All ready for us. Great service, problem with my order and I'm pleased to say the manager on duty dealt with my complaint very satisfactorily. Great value.

Very clean and tidy and plenty of room between tables so you don't feel claustrophobic. Really nice breads to start and very friendly and prompt service and or waitress came back just at the right time to check if we wanted more drinks. Quick service and really good portion sizes. Meals were all very nice and the excellent service continued. All in all a really nice meal. Will be going back.

It's was our first time here tonight. Not only was the food incredible but the portion size was huge! I had the Risotto Tuscan. Best food I have ever eaten. Will return!

Absolutely one of my new favourite restaurants. Called on a whim to be slotted in for an available dinner. Felt like my friend's Italian grandparents kitchen. Warm, homely, genuine. DELICIOUS. I felt like I was truly being treated. Very affordable for the care and delight each mouthful brought. All the staff also seem very happy and cared for. 100% will be going back again. Love love loved this experience!

Best Italian restaurant in the Wellington region! Our family loves Italian food and we've tried several Italian restaurants in the region, but Jovan's Kitchen is the best. The risotto was top notch and the pasta for my wife was delicious. The kids menu was great too, our daughters enjoyed their pizza. Highly recommended!

We've been wanting to try Jovans kitchen for years and finally made the leap and tried them after a quick phone call to see if they could accommodate my allergy, which they could!!!! Absolutely beautiful. Atmosphere was very nice and music was a moderate volume. Staff were polite and not invasive. Food was stunning. Looking forward to our next visit.

Service was nice and meal checks after every round. Food was why we gave it 3 stars as the spaghetti was a good 3 min over cooked and looked like it had been cut in half. Tiramisu had a lot of chocolate, cream was mixed into the mascarpone and little to no coffee flavour. Kiwi versions of Italian foods, but don’t take an Italian there. They might cry.

We always enjoy our food here. Spaghetti cabonara my favourite. The garlic prawns and crispy calamari are excellent also. The staff are lovely and the food is consistently very good. Our go to in Upper Hutt.

We ordered through the Deliver Easy app. Your always skeptical when doing this, cos you don't know if the quality will be like when you go in or if the drivers didn't go over all the bumps. I got the pork belly, the rest got the fettuccine, brandy snaps and cheesecake. Wow, the food quality was suburb. Well worth the money. So full. Delicious and so tasty.

We often have Jovan's take away which is always delicious, however, tonight we ate in and had a Beautiful reasonably priced dinner and felt we were cared for like we were part of the family. Which is exactly how anyone should be treated in the Italian way. 5/5.

Had a perfect time at Jovans on Sunday! Food was cooked quickly and perfectly, with big portions (the Mrs had to get a doggy bag!) Lovely staff too. Our bus was delayed, so the staff let me and my girlfriend stay inside out of the rain waiting for our bus to arrive! Definitely planning on coming back again soon, their rigatoni concetta is a must!!!!!!!!!

We are from the South Island and I have been craving real good pasta and Jovan's Kitchen out did my greatest expectations. I am definitely going to order more tommorrow to take back home. It was absolutely devine. My biggest compliments to the chef and the restaurant. I would recommend them to anyone. Wish they will open a branch on the South Island.

While the setting was cosy and spacious, it didn't really make up for the food, the duration of waiting and their service skills. Waiter and waitress who served us weren't very welcoming but they were polite towards the end. Was an okay experience. Needs improvement within a few areas but overall 3 stars from me...👍

Been here a couple of three times now, and I have to say the service is excellent. Wine selection is great, beer selection great. There is alot of choice on the menu, and every choice I have made has been on the money for me. But my best meal was a starter of the Prawn Salad, there Scotch Fillet with Blue Cheese dressing a recommended Red Wine selection which was excellent, and a desert of a very nice Panecotta. Every dish was perfect for me, and very generous servings. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I went there as part of a group for an end of year dinner. It is indeed and Italian restaurant, with Italian names for the dishes. Sadly, a lot of the dishes (from the set menu) had a lot to be desired. For one, the pasta was from a packet, and it the dishes came with a lot of sauce, even though the sauces were strongly flavored, this in no way made up for the lack of imagination. The waitresses were pleasant and the meal service quick.

Just wow. SERIOUSLY good food! And if that wasn't enough the staff are the friendliest I have ever met anywhere in the world. We have been multiple times & it's always fantastic. Very very highly recommended! UPDATE: I just wanted to say that in the last 2 years the food and service here have been absolutely exemplary. Absolutely fantastic staff and the food has been, without exception, incredible. I really can’t recommend it highly enough!

Ate here early last night. Lots of items were unavailable that we were wanting (lasagne, tiramisu, panacotta, pepsi max, house red). Lovely waitress/staff but not very authentic italian and left feeling a little confused. Margherita pizza was a tomato and cheese basic pizza with parsley sprinkled on top after, even though it said basil on the menu (and who puts parsley on a margherita?) We would have ordered a different pizza had we have known it would be missing one of the 3 toppings. Every dish had parsley sprinkled on it which was weird? The waitress even said with basil when she delivered it? Cannelloni de Verde was completely swimming in sauce and more like a cheesy soup. Given a 3 stars - It was fine, but over priced for very basic pastas and pizzas and disappointing so many things were not available. Spent $225 between 4 adults and 4 kids. Service was lovely and food prompt.

A family friendly restaurant with a relaxed setting. Kitchen staff are accommodating and understanding of allergies. Waiting staff are friendly, approachable, and professional. Pricing is moderate to high. The meal was outstanding and of a respectable size. I would definitely done here again for celebrating special occasions or family meals if the budget allowed it.

I've stopped counting the amount of times I've ordered takeaway from here. It's simple; just dial their number, place your order, pick it up & done! Dined in around 2-5 times as well - their service is great and relatively fast! The staff have recognised me as a regular and are always chatty. :) Over time I've tasted a wide range of their pastas -- I'd highly recommend the Spaghetti & meatballs as well as the Rigatoni parma. Simply put, Jovan's provides ordinary Italian pasta (as opposed to 'authentic'). It's comfort food that fills up your tummy!

The interior smelled like plumber’s glue. Our server seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but at work. The food was pretty good, but a bit overpriced. We ordered the pizza and pesto bread. Maybe we would have been more impressed with a traditional Italian dish.

We had a pleasant meal here. They served us fairly quickly and were pleasant, and the menu choice was good. This is not an expensive or fancy place, rather it is a good every day kind of local restaurant. I was a bit disappointed that they had run out of tiramisu, even though it was very early in the evening. There was also a fluorescent light fitting in a state of disarray, with wires hanging out above the servery. Not a good look.

If you are looking for authentic Italian cooking available in Upper Hutt, this is the place for you. Found in Fergusson St, near the heart of the Upper Hutt city centre, Jovan's Kitchen provides excellent food in large servings, delivered piping hot to your table. If you can't manage it all in one sitting, they will happliy box up the leftovers for you to take away. You can also get delivery via Delivereasy. The prices are reasonable for an Italian restaurant. The service and inner decor was quite good.

Great sense of space, good place to while away an afternoon where you won't be rushed off, music sounds better once you are indoors... Don't be put off by the speaker over the front doors as it sounds terrible. For to a while so don't go if you rushed for time... Although it might be they were short staffed that day as I have only gone once. Staff were lovely. Food was fine,

Heather and I first visited Jovan's Kitchen in October 2018 to celebrate winning the tender for our new home. We loved the food, we loved the atmosphere, we loved Anita. So every time we've had something to celebrate or we've had friends or family in town, we've made them join us for a meal at Jovan's because we know they're going to love the food and we know they're going to love meeting Anita. In the year since we've visited many times and tried many meals and we have never had a bad meal. Not even close. Everything is very yummy. And very filling. So we'll continue to go back as long as Jovan's Kitchen will let us. And for as long as Jovan is the chef and Anita is a great big ball of happiness. Trust me when I say go visit and find out for yourself.

Came here a couple of years ago and was very disappointed. Ended up back here last night and it was a whole different experience. Service was lovely and attentive but not in your face. Non alcoholic drink selection not bad either. My friend enjoyed her shrimp risotto and my chicken involtini was delectable. Brandy snaps with marsala cream and Italian donuts for dessert - divine! I'll definitely be back.

Jovan's Kitchen is always delicious. The food is intensely flavourful and the portions are always so large, there's some left over for tomorrow! I have had the salmon penne and the rigatoni parma HEAPS of times. Both are wonderful. One of my friends who was with me said the rigatoni parma (which is vegetarian) was even better than his spag bol. Although he said he liked that too, just that the vegetarian option was nicer, which surprised him! The tiramisu is better than one of the tiramisu' I had in Italy! Although it is quite pricey for a dessert.

Absolutely delicious flavours on our takeaway pizza and fries. Unfortunately it was a very busy night (Friday 7pm) and though we were told our order would take 15-20 mins it actually took over 30 minutes. What made this worse was that the pizza base was undercooked - though I understand it is tempting to take things out of the oven when people are waiting your pizzas are such quality that they are worth the wait. It just would have been better to tell us a realistic time. I definitely recommend the Neopolitana pizza and will be back to give them another go. I have been back for a meal but unfortunately the pizza was still doughy in the centre. I also thought it was overpriced - smaller pizza for an extra $5. It would also be nicer if the table water was filtered. However, the complimentary garlic bread was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely.

Our family had dinner here tonight, the service was prompt and friendly. There were six of us, we had lasagne, prawn & pesto risotto, chicken fettuccini, carbonara fettuccini, and gnocchi we all enjoyed our meals. Being an avid italian food lover I thought Jovan's was easily up there with some of the best I have had. We had coffee to finish which was also very good . We waited about 20 mins for our mains to arrive and were all served at the same time.Very good quality at a reasonable price.The restaurant was totally full and we were still able to easily hold a conversation. Top marks.
