We came in after the motherrs day rush around 3pm. Meals were large and tasty. Service however was quite slow considering there were only 2 tables occupied. Waited close to 20mins waiting for one dessert that we ended up asking to takeaway.

Somehow I expected more. Always curious to try this place, but today was a first. The shakes were excellent, a rare thing these days. Her steak was good, but value at $27.00? Yeah, nah. My beef schnitzel was dry and wizzened and together with manky chips wasn't anywhere close to what I expected. Good ol' fashioned pub grub? I heard it used to be, but maybe not so much now. Should be 2 stars, but given it 3 coz their shakes were so good.

The best vanilla slice very reasonably priced. Great cabinet food and menu food at very good prices. Staff amazing. A definite place to have a great meal

Food made with love?? A good place to come for everyone and dessert at the end was amazing. Cant beat a real steamed pudding with custard and ice cream.

Not the best burger i ever had but you get alot for the price. Would have been nice if someone served us to order our food since we booked a table but its okay. I went as part of a group.Food there is lovely. One thing - the wait was ages. If I ever go alone I will be sure to take a book or my knitting, as the wait is so long! If they don't have enough staff, they will have to hire more!

Just had their 'Special' for dinner tonight, a small Paua Burger, was a taste treat, can recommend it. Happy eating 😁

I ordered the Lamb shanks .Lamb shanks are the best. They were that delicious we as a family went back again. Definitely be going back there next time we are in Upper Hutt. I'll definitely be recommending everyone that stays here at kaikoura seaside lodge to head to the quinn's post. Awesome service and atmosphere. We'll be back.

We went there for the end of year staff do. We had to pre-order from the menu a week before, but this did not disappoint. I ordered the sirloin steak (medium) and a sticky date pudding. The steak was a little on the well-done side but otherwise nicely seasoned and fried. The sticky date pudding was a popular request by those who attended, it was sticky, sweet and delicious.

Good old fashioned pub food, great atmosphere with a game on the screen and a cold brew flowing. Staff are always nice and happy to accommodate to what you may need. The kids meals are simple and will work even for the pickiest of eaters, they also offer smaller size dishes to the mighty meals. When you go you have to try the Mighty Quinn burger.... It's massive!!!

This local pub has a good selection of beers and wine. The food is good value pub food with large servings and great service. I would recommend the lamb or beef curry with roti and rice at $12 per serving. Goes well with a cold beer. The fish is fresh and beef burger excellent.

Very good wholesome food which is standard everyday meals, with a very good menu, great sized meals and you can ask for a smaller serving which is great for a lot of people. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, with cafe and cakes as well all day, so a great all day place for food and drinks with a full bar.

Good wholesome pub food,good service quiet diner setting amongst a pub atmosphere with some basic but nice desserts also. Always consistent so far with food,beers and quietness.(location is next to a retirement home and funeral parlour so its pretty quiet!)

Great size meals very large plates and portions....All the steam vegetables, mash potatos, chips, salad and sauces were fantastic, fresh with sauce all over. The pork roast were thin slices. The sirloin steak was big and juicy. The lamb shank fell off the bone and you got 2 chicken schnitzel for the meal. There are complementary bottles of water and sauces (chilli, tomato, worchester) napkins and cutlery. Great service, family friendly environment, definitely recommend for a night out with the family or lunch. FIY - you have to go up to the front to order and not call over the staff. This is incase you are sitting there waiting for service esp if your use to it.

Only set back is being the toilets are too close to the dining area. After someone say "uses" the toilet, everytime the toilet door opens and closes, a whiff of contaminants pollute the air and potentially into my food. 5 star rating if fixed. Ty!

My wife and I used to have dinner here every Sunday night in the tavern because the service was better than the restaurant and we enjoyed the bartenders Always enjoyed the clams and mussels but they are so lousy now that the recipe has changed we have only been back twice this year and will probably not return.

Great little pub in Upper Hutt. A bit of a distance from the centre of Upper Hutt City, but this is a plus, as the surroundings are less busy than the centre of town and the environment is very pleasant. Inside is very tidy and clean and there are plenty of screens to watch sport and other entertainment. There is a wide range of drinks and food. The food was very tasty, plentyful (good serve sizes) and well presented. The prices for drinks and food were all very reasonable. The staff were good. This is by far the best pub (excluding those in Brewtown) that I have been to in Upper Hutt.

I liked it caught up with a friend of mine there cheerful staff we go there about six in the afternoon had a chat long time no see sort of stuff from about sixish forward the place was starting to get busy ordered my meal sort of a mix of family ,young couples with friends sort of stuff ,I think it was about 15 min we waited for our meal but time flies when your having a bit of a catch up yak session , great meal well balanced probably got there again for a meal and catch up with friends.

Quite a good place for the usual pub food and drinks. Either on your own or in a group. The garden bar can be a bit hot as due to the roof cladding.... really traps in the heat. 😓

I’ve been here many times before and never had any complaints! Recently I went with my family for my Birthday dinner where Arnie and Eddy (sorry if spelt wrong) went above and beyond to notice it was my birthday and not only wished me a happy birthday but brought me a slice of cake with a candle in it and sang me happy birthday. It was such a wonderful surprise! Will definitely be going back again soon.
