Reviews of Scoops
H.I went out of my way to test if the reputation of Scoops as the best fish and chip shop in Upper Hutt was warranted. Unfortunately I found the food to be of "average" quality. The fish wasn't very fresh and the batter wasn't crispy. I can do better closer to home, so won't be going to Scoops again.
L.homemade chips everytime.fish, hotdog, spring roll were ok. phone order is the one here it can get very busy somedays.
W.Amazing service always quicker than expected even when there’s 25 people in the shop also the best chips I’ve ever tasted and amazing other stuff also best fish and chip shop I’ve ever been too 5 stars highly recommend .
G.Very good, but Upper Hutt does have huge competition in the Fish & Chip market with a number of outstanding fast food outlets. Some of Wellingtons best are in this region in the Upper Valley 😉 Many locals looking forward to Scoops reopening its chippery soon!
L.A bit more expensive than some of the other fish & chip shops in the area, but their homemade chips are so much nicer than the frozen chips out of a packet most other takeaways offer these days...
