Not busy cafe, but good service. Food is not great, but Waihi is not a big township so we can’t expect anything fabulous!!

Discreet, polite but tight management of COVID restrictions. All food looked appetizing. My burger was excellent, well cooked with a generous portion of chips. Cheery, happy young waitress.

Excellent staff, they were very accommodating for me to change the channels and watch the cricket. Great menu with a lot of unique items but also plenty of the classics to please everyone, and the food was very tasty. Styly interior and big bar, highly recommend

Located next to Waihi Beach, tasty dishes and staff ok. My wife ordered a burger and it looked great, thick meat and generous fries came along. Chicken pie was also delicious, but not recommended for children, it was too spicy for them. My pesto pasta was awesome, good amount, well seasoned.

. My friend and I used it as a stop for a pre-beach visit, during a long roadtrip, and it was great for us. Had two really nice coffees here, a great savory scone, and a yummy gourmet sausage roll.

Under new management and doing a fine job : ) There are a lot of choices for Vegetarians, Foodies and there's wine & beer too. The girls are chatty and cheerful. Great sunny spot. The Artists work is amazing on the walls and always great to see new pieces arriving. Tv & Fireplace for the winter too.

Has coffee in the morning and popped back later that day for a beer. Service on both occasions was quick and pleasant. They serve organic coffee so that in mind if you are after a pick me up. Seating available both indoors and outdoors as well as a decent menu to choose from

This is a great spot. Warm and welcoming staff, lots to offer on the menu and best coffee at the beach.

A pub type atmosphere, the menu is a bit disjointed with meals from many different cultures and a limited range of accompanying sides. However, everything tasted very good.

Had a delicious dinner at the Porch. My husband had the fish which was fresh & a big serving, I had the Chicken Tikka Marsala, the aroma was mouth watering & the dish lived up to it. It was really flavoursome with a nice amount of spice. It came with rice, a poppadom & a well textured naan. Both dishes were reasonable priced. The Porch had a duo playing live music in the front room & the acoustics were great. We will definitely be back

Husband and I just finished an incredibley delicious breakfast (the breakfast burrito and a build your own of rosti, scrambled eggs, mushrooms and bacon) that was full of flavor, nice and hot and a lot better than we were expecting for the relatively low price ($36 total). We are probably going to be back tomorrow for a round two before we head off again! Staff were friendly and checked twice that we were happy with the meals, although note that you have to order at the counter which we hadn't realised

This place is awesome. They have the best waffles, super sweet and filling. The service is also very good. We sat outside in the sun and it made for a perfect breakfast. Will definitely be back.

Nice coffee. Very poor vegan options. Got a bowl of chips. Some were hot some cold to warm. Very disappointing.

Decent enough food, but seems a bit overpriced. They have a relatively cornered market, so not surprised at the hiked prices. Not a wide selection of food available and the wait is disproportionate to the amount of customers. If the owner reads this, think about improving the menu presentation.

Enjoyed the seafood chowder so much that we visited twice over our weekend stay

Great food and service. Ordered a chicken pasta and lamb tenderloin. Pasta was plentiful, creamy and delicious. The tenderloin was very tasty as well but it was a bit lacking in portion size. Fantastic live music with Bree :)

Very nice atmosphere with excellent staff. Definitely some of the best food in the area. They can often get overwhelmed early afternoon on Saturdays due to demand and delays in service may crop up. But otherwise a real nice place for brunch. After 2pm the menu is vastly reduced to so recommend coming earlier if you want meals.

Good value for lunch, friendly staff

My Wife and I have been in New Zealand 3 weeks now, having breakfast each morning at many different locations. Today we had the best brunch at The Porch Waihi Beach. The food was AMAZING, great value and coffee brewed exceptionally well. The service was fantastic and the staff polite and attentive. We would reccomend anyone passing through Waihi Beach to call in and soak up the relaxed atmosphere.

Very fast and quick service. The food was good and the staff were nice, however my French Toast was drenched in maple syrup and was so sweet. Still nice but I will be asking for no syrup next time.

Lovely staff serving a small but varied menu of delicious fare. A relaxed environment with open windows and outdoor seating perfect for summer brunch. Licensed for the adults, but the meal selection for children is limited. A perfect spot to stop in for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or just a coffee or tea and a snack.

A great surprise, a cosy joint, friendly staff where the food/drinks are on the table in no time. The music was live, varied and of high quality, a touch loud outside which is fine as it feels like a pub out there and resterant indoors. The steak was the best I have had since 2007 in Zimbabwe! Yes that’s ten years of eating steaks all over the world so a standout. The other elements on the plate complemented it perfectly plus the dessert browner was just right with ice cream, strawberries and brittle. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Christy and the crew at the Porch are just wonderful people and the food is excellent...a real treat. If they have it the evening you're there, I'd recommend trying the meringue dessert with brandied berries and whipped creme. Yummy. Nice people, great food, an upscale atmosphere that still feels natural at the beach village. What's not to like!

The service, food and staff were all excellent, you accommodated our needs and allowed us to have the best time we could have wished. Went here for a meal on a Saturday night. A group of four was playing music in the background. I wanted to order fish of the day, but they had run out so I chose a seafood platter. When it arrived it was on a small plate and didn't look very apertising, howeve r I ate it but was disappointed with the meal which cost $28.

Had a quick bite to eat here last night ordering the Meat Lovers Antipasto. It was absolutely delicious, a delicate fusion of eastern and western flavours. A charming, local eatery.

Great staff and our meals were delicious! The live music by Ra had my kids singing along. Recommended!

If my last meal was to be breakfast, I would be heading to The Porch cafe in Waihi Beach. My occasional favourite hot breakfast is toast, mushrooms, bacon and tomato. As mushrooms were not on the menu I settled for the hash browns expecting the usual frozen fare from the supermarket. What arrived at the table was a perfectly cooked potato rosti, with bacon and tomato to match. The coffee matched the meal, all in all a great start to the day. Hope to get back before my time is up.

Guys kids like pancakes and waffles. We can't come any more because you took waffles off the breakfast menu. We used to come every sunday for 2x big breakfasts and a waffles for the kids. Please reinstate. We are now at Surf Shack this minute having pancakes. Kids don't eat french toast.

Coffee was really good on first visit a year ago. Staff were friendly and helpful . A recent visit saw a drop in service and the coffee was made by an amateur.

Weve been pretty crook sorry last 24hrs Had bagels . The bagels were terrible , tried our best to eat but just rock hard and awful salmon my partner had mushrooms .and it was freezing in there - No heating. Agree with the the last review . My kids wouldn't eat the French toast either .They wanted waffles . Im not one to do reviews - but I haven't got off the toilet since so felt you needed to know. Appreciate you opening on queens birthday .
