E.Even though there was only two vegan Main options (that my partner and I shared), Both were amazing!! and I definetly could have eaten twice over.

B.This cafe is so pretty and has wonderful service! The food arrives quickly and it’s very close to the beach, so you can always go for a walk along the beach after lunch or before dinner! It’s also close to a playground, so if you are looking after kids, or like me, you have the babysit them, take them there after! The kids I was looking after loved the playground. The food is absolutely delicious, but takes quite long to arrive, so don’t go there for lunch if you’re in a rush to go to places or have a meeting, because you’ll likely be late. Although it takes long, the food is so worth the wait. It has a beautiful atmosphere, it’s clean and perfect for going by yourself, on a date, or with your family, a stunning cafe with a beautiful setting, right next to one of Kapiti’s most iconic beauties - Kapiti Island.
B.In a nutshell.. great menu, food and drinks alike. Staff are super chill and happy to make space even when super busy.
Most important consistent! Have been here a number of times and been blown away each time.

B.Great choice for brunch. The outdoor seating is great as is the indoor. Nice and simple brunch menu with some different choices to your usual brunch options. The food was beautifully presented, really good quality, and tasty. The coffee is great with a large we amount of alternative milk options. The service is very onto it, even when it's busy.
A.Came across this Cafe when we were staying at an Air BnB in the area. Popped in for a drink. Inside was full so had to sit outside. Thought it would be too cold but to our amazing surprise all the concrete seating outside was heated. It was amazing. Also blankets around the place if you were still cold which we were not. Did not want to leave. First time we have ever come across heated concrete seats. It was enough for us to go back the next night for dinner. Yes we sat outside again!
J.Loved it, beautiful creative food (venison salad) This place is large with indoor/outdoors flow, eclectic/professional vibe, with garden to wander in and the beach across the road. The staff were smart and patient, and in the cooler months the concrete seating is heated outdoors.
V.A favourite. Great pizza and never disappoints on atmosphere - great vibe. Always happy with the service and across the road from the play park as well as a minute further and on Waikanae Beach.
G.Today a lunch for 11 people. All excellent no waiting no fuss little glasses for water with fresh lime pieces in them on the table plus larger glasses with big water jugs. Looked after us all well and we really relaxed and enjoyed our time there. Please pass on to Fox our waiter that he looked after us meticulously!

S.Great service, amazing pizzas and of course, their double fried chips are legendary! It was incredibly busy, queues out the door to get seated, but we were helped quickly and our food arrived within 15 minutes. My go-to place when I'm in Waikanae.

Had the most delicious pizzas here! The outdoor seating was soo cozy and perfect with our dogs, and the customer service was fantastic!
I had the Mortadella Pizza which was soooo cheesy and the base was the BEST! Also had a delicious coffee and a tea which was served in a very cute clay teaset. Would highly recommend this place!
P.Stopped in for lunch after a morning exploring and the service and food was excellent. They were really busy but remained attentive and we enjoyed the pork belly and venison along with a nice local beer and Portuguese red wine.
S.Lovely setting, has an outdoor area for privacy and for your kids and dogs to play. Welcoming staff. Great even for a take away coffee. The restaurant is a walk away from the beach and nearby bus stop.

P.This is the place to be in Waikanae, for breakfast, lunch or dinner or even just coffee! Owned by locals, run by locals, this place feels like the heart and soul of Waikanae beach.
All the food is great, coffee is great, beer is great!
D.We had a wonderful experience from the time we were seated to the time we left. We both ordered pizza and enjoyed every mouthful. The portions were very generous and we both ended up only finishing half and taking home a pizza box for later. Excellent service and food. Such a wonderful place!

Love the food - the big breakfast is a beast, the vege breakfast slightly more manageable- made glorious by the extra thick bacon on the side. Always very busy and worth it . J.Food was good, but we were disappointed when we ordered a kids apple juice for a 3 year old, which came with a straw shorter then the glass it was in. The server didn't see an issue. I had to pick it out of of the juice..... I get your using paper straws for the environment, but I think you missed the mark with a kids drink.

Long Beach proves the very essence of Waikanae Beach. The décor is a mix of well designed bar, and simple indoor/outdoor dining. Forgive the plastic seats, the fairy lights have all the style.
The food is what you come for. Even when the junior chef is running the kitchen expect superb offerings with fresh fish a favourite with a seasonal twist to make it delicious. The sirloin comes with a fantastic equation of flavours, hinting at the head chef's real skill in menu-making.
If you're not a food snob, there are delicious pizzas on offer with gluten free options easy. Vegetarians are safe, and you can't get your food more local than five metres away.
Go here for the ideal model of what good clean and well considered food should be, and enjoy the MASSIVE range of North End and Salt & Wood Collective craft beers.

P.Had the most amazing time here at Long beach. The staff are friendly. They gave us free chips & water plus the next day we came back for a coffee and were given 2 free cheese scones. Really lovely staff here. I recommend to take a visit. Will definitely come back

Staff were very helpful too. Will go back on a warm day.

S.This was the best vegan breakfast I have had in NZ. Great variety of items on the plate all of which were cooked perfectly. Nice warm sunny place to eat too. Congrats on providing a vegan offering. This puts you ahead of most restaurants. The world is changing and it's great to see that this restaurant is up on the huge eating changes that are coming world wide.

D.One of my fave cafes in Waikanae. Dont feel food quality today was up to their normal standard. I got the halloumi and melon salad, my companions the big breakfast , which I' didnt thank was that big lol.
They were extremely busy, didnt mind the 30min food wait (they did warn us when we entered the cafe).

P.An excellent place for a great night out. Restaurant was busy but not so loud that it affected the atmosphere of the place. Meals were excellent with beautiful flavours. Staff were very friendly and attentive but not overpowering.

s.This place was good, had some nice and fresh food and a delicious grapefruit drink. Cool fireplace and nice seating. We liked it so much we wanted to come back for dinner. While eating lunch we asked if you had to make a booking for dinner and if it would be fine to just come back and our waiter said yes.
Come dinner time we arrived and lights were on and it was much busier inside. We asked for a seat but the same waiter we asked turned us back and said we couldn't get a seat so we left hungry and annoyed

D.The place was pretty crowded when we came. Looking for breakfast we went with scrambled egg on toast. Huge portion of eggs. I am not sure but it tasted as there was some curry powder in the eggs.

S.My first dinner at the Long Beach Cafe was on a cold winter evening. Great hot soup with home made bread next to a fireplace - what more can you wish for?! Well, the bar selection was good too. On a summer day it's a special treat to walk though a garden patch while waiting fir our woodfried pizza and local brew to be ready. Any season it's our favorite place on the coast.
L.My meal was a flatbread with hummus smashed avocado and warm salmon with a lemon cheek on the side to squeeze over, absolutely delicious and my cocktail a lemon drop was to die for, can't wait to go again!

S.I ordered fish and chips. Very little fish covered in to much batter which was very oily. One of my friends also had fish and chips agreed there was not much fish. The pork belly was the other meal selected. It meet with approval. I liked the look of the pizzas others in the cafe ordered and would choose one of those if I went to the Long Beach Cafe again.
J.Love this place. Tom and the team are awesome. The food is always superb, made fresh with ingredients from their own garden, and the beer is excellent. Great for families and dog friendly. Booking a table didn't used to be necessary, but would recommend these days.

S.I've been for a snack and a beer more than once, and dinner too: the cafe has been excellent every time. Lots of choice for vegetarians, fresh ingredients often with original flavours. Big range of the event North End beers. I'll be back.
R.Yummy food and good options, fantastic setting and the garden was a great bonus. Books and toys to keep the kids entertained and high chairs available. Good seating options both in and outdoor. Only real detractor was the complete lack of kids menu/kids options for food (my son wanted a ham & cheese toastie, the closest thing was a huge pizza topped with ham & cheese which two adults could have shared).
Certainly enjoyed visiting somewhere different and the service was faultless so would definitely go again another time.
C.My wife and i celebrate our birthday every year at this restaurant with friends and family. It's a pizza and twice fried chips treat for everyone who comes along. The pizzas are awesome and the chips and aioli are divine. My only criticism is that it can sometimes take a while for the dinner orders to be taken and delivered. Tonight was ok, (45 minutes) but the time before was 90 minutes, which is a bit rough when you have a feisty 2 year old to contend with. Final decision - awesome place if you have all the time in the world, however, if you are in a hurry, go somewhere else.

T.I went out on a wet and cold Wed night and to walk into this space , the atmosphere was energetic and warm. Gas log fire on and was given a seat right where i could watch the chefs doing their stuff..there was 6 draught beers on tap, a wide selection of bottle beers and wines as well.On the night i ordered fish and chips, the fish being Terakihi, a beautiful white fleshed fish and the meal was perfection. Nice big chips, crunchy batter and the salad complemented the dish so well, the fish beautiful to eat. A great night and made the point of thanking the chefs for a fantastic meal, and all staff for the service. A great night and will definitely return whenever i am in Waikanae as i currently live in Australia.

The only vegetarian option on the mains menu was also not available by 7pm. Shame as 5 of the party of 9 were vegetarians. Has been good in past so will give it another go in the future.

What an entirely unprofessional woman. She let her team down on that night. A man took over serving our table and was excellent. Tried very hard to rectify her mistakes.

The orders were read back to us so there were no chances of wrong orders. The meals arrived in a timely fashion and tasted amazing. Would recommend!

There were plenty on people there on a Saturday afternoon and the staff were nice and friendly. I might go back if we were going for food.

j.Being from Auckland so I'm bound to be critical about an out of town cafe. Perhaps at least NEVER give anything full stars to allow even a Ritz quality experience room for improvement. However after asking for an Americana from the hot little barista girl and getting exactly that, my generally facetious Aucklander ego was left hanging. I sat outside near the amazing bohemian style vege garden that they supply their kitchen with enjoying the excellent americana and ordered fish and chips. What came was what you expect, fish and chips plus a salad made from some of the plants growing right there. The fish was fresh, the chips hand cut and crisp and the batter not semi transparent. You know, fish & chips.
It might have been the beach atmosphere or it could have been the cone I had in the car before, but I had found my place. A place with home crafted beer on tap, friendly staff , great coffee and a menu written in English. Next time I will try a more healthy one of the options they have on their menu or just order something with Brussel sprouts when their plants out the back are harvested.

I would have to say this is the best pizza I have ever had!! Flavours amazing, crust perfect and ingredients really well thought out.
Really proud these guys have absolutely nailed food in Waikanae. Absolutely incredible!!!
