Great coffee, good breakfast. I enjoyed the breakfast tacos, something a bit different to most kiwi cafes.

Adore this cafe’s vibe. Great coffee, food and staff. My go to breakfast spot when in Wānaka and when I need to get some mahi done with a great view and coffee.

Best brunch I've had. Have to recommend the pork belly! The food was great, this is a cute cafe with an amazing view

Great friendly staff fantastic soup nice and spicy. Used the toilet and found the dryer real jet great for drying but perhaps something under it to stop the excess water going onto the floor.

The interior design of the cafe is cozy and warm, but the food quality except the breakfast item is above average, the rest is just so so. Soup noodles is very salty and the risotto ball is too dry. The tossed salad on the side is too salty. Seafood Crowder is too thicken. Quite disappointed actually. Still breakfast items, like smoked salmon omelette and waffle are nice.

Wow wow wow. Went here with my partner. We ordered the mushroom/ hash brown stack and the BLAT. My partner loved his meal and I tasted the hash brown- very very good. My BLAT was the best BLAT I’ve ever had! It was a very decent size too. The guy next to us ordered a brownie and it looked so soft so I thought I would get one too. The brownie was next level amazing- one the the best I’ve had. I need the recipe!! The coffee we got was almond milk.. it was ok. You need to order up at the counter which is a bit annoying if it’s busy and you have to stand in line. The staff were lovely and seemed to care about our experience.

Everything we ordered was pretty great but the standout for me was the Vietnamese pork crepe. It was delicious and something out of the ordinary! Very kid friendly place with a small box of toys and books. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Highly recommended!!!! Hubby and I went there today for the first time for brunch. There is so much variety and a lot of different meals you wouldn't find elsewhere, so delicious and nice to have a change from the original brunch menus. Absolutely lovely, accommodating and patient staff! The place was packed so we knew it had to be great, but it was even better when our food actually came considerably quickly when we thought we would have a long wait to the pressure in the kitchen, but our food came out PERFECT! Hot, eggs bene were cooked perfectly not undercooked like everywhere else I've been lately. A free pot of tea on arrival which was lovely but we only got delivered one mug which I thought was odd..staff were super busy and the line was huge so I left it and my hubby drank it. Would have been cold by the time I got to the front of the line anyway! Haha. Very happy with out morning there, will be back soon, very soon! Thanks team! 👌😊

Really liked this place and it looked popular with the locals. Great vibe going on, busy little place. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Lots of coloring and pens for young kids. The menu was pretty expensive, good selection. Service was prompt and the food was fab. 7 of us really enjoyed it, great place.

Restaurant has a great option for everyone for example if you are dairy free you will be able to have almond milk with your hot chocolate you are also able to get free Wi-Fi here if you are Appian customer.

Just had the most fresh and crisp citris salmon salad. No onion, no garlic. Divine. Recommend this place.

Best coffee I’ve had in a long time! Perfectly poured and temperature was spot on. Really nice venue and friendly staff. Croque Monsieur was pretty good too.

Smash avo was some store bought guacamole type thing, and the smoked side was cheap canned salmon. Pretty disappointing.

The best breakfast I ever had in New Zealand. Plenty of food, crispy bacon, right seasoning. The smoothies are also divine. Beautiful decoration, nice atmosphere, excellent service. I will definitely come back. 100% recommended

Stopped here in a whim to feed the kids and ordered a flat white to pass the time whilst they ate and HELLO what a brilliant coffee! Smooth, rich and velvety it went down a treat. Staff were super friendly and it's a high five from me for this place!

Highly recommend Breakfast. We enjoyed Eggs Benedict (with bacon) & an Omelette with Salmon in their newly refurbished cafe/restaurant. Excellent food presentation & it tasted great! Coffee & Hot Chocolate were great too. We'll be back!

Came here for breakfast, really tasty food! Portion sizes are a bit small.

Lovely restaurant with a beautiful view, great food menu and lovely wine list. We came here for lunch at 2.30pm and were pleased lunch was still being served. The fit out is elegant and relaxed. There were a number of vegetarian/ vegan lunch options. We did forget to order at the counter (as it feels like a table service restaurant) but staff members noticed after 10min and reminded us which was much appreciated haha. It was a lovely lunch experience.

I’ve only had good things here. It’s usually a busy place with some quieter seats down the back - handy for meetings or to bring your laptop for an hour of work. The coffee is great and so is their selection of baked goods. Especially because they ALWAYS have gluten free options! I have eaten here for lunch and dinner, and my experience had always been great with excellent service. One time I even accidentally set my menu on fire from the candles 😳(My partner is a firefighter so his quick actions made sure it was immediately put out). To my relief the staff were so friendly about it and just brushed it off like nothing happened!

So in our road trip in New Zealand, we were mostly cooking food because of the amazing ingredients available in super market. Finally, in Wanaka we were walking by the lake when we decided to eat lunch along side the lake area. It was quite a lot of fun and the food was so tasty superbly tasty. We ordered burgers from here and they were delicious. The staff was very very helpful and friendly. I love people in New Zealand. The most normal happy human being that you come across. We ordered coffee and it was also darn good. Our lunch was quite sumptuous and we completely enjoyed it. There is outdoor seating and indoor seating as well. Enjoy your visit.

Very good atmosphere arrived here in the morning to get to jetboat and relax in this restaurant to get coffee is good feeling and nice music on the speaker ❤️ i love it

We hadn't intended on dining here but left it too late to get in anywhere else so this was it. Having said that it thoroughly exceeded our expectations and we ended up going back another night. The waiter was awesome and guided us through the menu options in a light hearted and friendly manner. The meals were great and enjoyed with a couple of good bottle of wine. The atmosphere was a little 'cafe' but very relaxed and comfortable.

Attended on the day The South Island went back into level two (COVID) and the staff were under a lot of pressure (to adhere to the old rules) but performed amazingly well. Waffles and burger were amazing and cooked to perfection (we have picky eaters in our group) Will be back for wines & dinner next time for sure

Great food options in a nice environment. The open fire really makes it quite warm, modern and trendy. Staff are very accommodating. The antipasto platter is bountiful and comes with a great deal with two glasses of wine. Strongly recommend.

The meal was decent with amazing views HOWEVER the dessert completely let us down which was such a shame. We had the 'little bit of everything' of which the waitress didn't know which bit of everything was on the dish. The ice cream was half melted by the time it came out, we didn't even know what the blue/purple cheese cake was but it was still frozen in the core and the rice pudding didn't have much flavour..... The view from the restaurant is 5 stars though.

Great environment. Ladies working there were very nice and helpful. Went here for happy hour and got a $6 syrah (regular sized pour) which was delicious! We've come back a few times. Sometimes for happy hour, sometimes for a late night drink. Still haven't tried the food. Nothing really spoke to me from the menu. Just a very relaxing place to have a drink.

Alchemy is one of my favorite places to grab a coffee and meal in Wanaka. Their customer service is always so great and Pavla always welcomes you with a warm smile and conversation. They always do whatever they can to meet their customer needs and it shows in their local support. I highly recommend checking this spot out!

Excellent food and coffee. Decent prices for the quality of food. Nice environment, relaxing environment to chat with friends. They serve sparkling water for free on tap. Walking distance from Lake Wanaka. Disability access and easy to move a pram into.

Food was very nice but service was clearly understaffed. Could see my eggs Benedict ready to serve alongside 10 or so other dishes underneath the warmer. By the time it got to me the egg had cooked completely through.

Dined here recently on New Years Eve Walked in, line was out the door but was very lucky there were quite a few free tables inside.. Was advised the wait for food would be up to 45mins which my partner and I were more than willing to wait for given the atmosphere and promise of the place To our surprise we received our food and drink no more than ten minutes after ordering! As could be expected, food was well up to par and between us we ensured our plates were polished off Everything here was up to standard but what made our experience memorable was the service. You could tell the staff were run off their feet given the time of year etc but they were polite and provided service with a smile - I only wish every establishment employed such a friendly, knowledgeable team

Me and my sister shared the full breakfast grill and the waffles with carmalised banana and bacon. For the waffles, everything was delicious (the caramelised banana, bacon, maple syrup) EXCEPT for the waffles, which looked good but were exceptionally bland and had an odd, kind of damp texture in the middle. For the breakfast grill, the scrambled eggs were good (my sister liked the 'cinnamon taste', but I'm unsure if that is deliberate or the result of reusing pans). My biggest disappointment came from the mushrooms - they tasted good, but there was only one. One small mushroom. Since I was splitting with my sister, I had half a mushroom. That's just sad. Overall, the entire meal was just 'ok', which is pretty disappointing considering it was $50NZD. The service was good though, very fast considering how busy it was and very efficient. I think the only reason this place has some bad reviews for the service is because the reviewers are tourists who come from countries where they tip waiters i.e the waiters have to make smalltalk and wait on their every need so they'll get good tips. As a born-and-raised New Zealander, I thought the service was standard and good and efficient.

The food and service here is fantastic even though it gets very busy. There was a huge line when we went in for breakfast; around thirty people deep on New Year's day, and yet we received our food within ten minutes of ordering. I was blown away by the speed and the quality of the food.

Presentation of restaurant & food was great but unfortunately the dish I had was pretty average (lentil filo roll). I was also given the non vegan version by mistake and didn't realise until I had tried the yogurt and asked my server - this was really upsetting. They were really apologetic, gave me a free drink and brought out the vegan version pretty quickly, but obviously it ruined my experience. I really didn't like my latte either, it was very bitter.

Lovely food and coffee with amazing views

Perfect spot on the Wanaka strip for the amateur diner, with solid outdoor tables ideal for taking in the charms of the town and people watching. You still need to go inside to order, but the food arrives quickly with the friendly service! My blue cod fish burger was delicious, and the slow cooked lamb salad was a standout! Also one of the only places I have seen with complimentary sparkling water on tap!

I took my two young kids here for dinner. The waitress was really lovely and helpful with extra seat cushions. Great food and well priced. This is also one of my picks for coffee.

Good coffee and decent food. Unfortunately I cannot recommend the eggs benedict, as I've been there for it twice (having been recommended to go by a friend) and the poached eggs were overcooked both times.

I have never been anywhere else that does steak, duck, and salmon so perfectly. I have never been anywhere else that at least tried to make tamarillos acceptable. I have never been anywhere else with almost telepathic service from waitresses who will make you want to stay for the whole night. I will never eat anywhere else in Wanaka on a Tuesday.

Directly opposite Lake Wanaka, comfortable and stylish indoor, outdoor dining, brunch was delicious, good coffee and excellent service.

Good coffee, real shame about the food. Pretty disappointed to pay over $30 for 4 bits of toast with barely any avocado and one egg. Wouldn’t eat here again as way overpriced for what it is....not even a good brunch.

This place has a really nice vibe. Seemingly people treat it like an out of home office but why wouldn’t you when you can have excellent coffee and standout breakfast. 🙌🏼

Good service. Food was fine but had waffles with yoghurt and "seasonal fruit" and the fruit was maybe one half of a poached peach. It tasted fine but I guess I joped for a little more fruit selection.

Visited restaurant to book a table for the next evening.When we arrived the next evening we found we didnt have a reservation!!!?.Waitress gave us a table.The service was good. The food was was very average.The burger was tasteless and not that fresh.Very minimal amountvof chips.Wouldnt rush back

good tea, fid was not bad. friendly stuff but I will never get used to fact the do not take orders at the tabels. Even an army of nothing to to waiters sneaking around. After 6p.m. there is no Wi-fi.

Had a delicious Irish coffee here. The breakfast portion size could be a bit bigger for the price, but it was tasty and quick.

The full breakfast grill was good, but too small to be called "full". The porridge was terrible. The coffee wasn't bad.

Well executed food. Lamb tagine was well spiced and flavorful, with tender meat. Mushroom tagliatalle was equally good. As a caveat, the portions are moderately sized, so order extras if you've had a long day of hiking/tramping.

This place is doing it real well, done me a double dirty chai with almond and I’m solidly impressed as that sweet caffeine illuminates my being in the bliss of Wanaka food looks the goods to have not consumed though one of those muffins on the counter is sure to be coming with me for the road ahead today top shop guys and sparkling water on tap for free that and the view of lake and mountains yeah!

Great service, great food, great outlook accross the lake to the mountains. It was very busy but the food arrived quickly and tasted delicious. Would definitely reccommend Alchemy to anyone visiting Wanaka.

Our meal was lovely...steak was cooked more than what my partner had asked for ..they fixed it no questions asked..super friendly staff...it was a lovely relaxing meal that we didn't feel as if we were being rushed ..well done Alchemy..we will be back
