J.This is a fantastic experience for us. We have been living NZ five years and this is the best fine dining we experienced in several ones. The color, the flavors, the food quality, no anything we need to judge, just enjoy is the only thing we need to do. Can’t pass this place in Wanaka

Food and wine is lovely and subtle. Recommend to have 1-2 glasses of wine with your meal if wine pairing is too much alcohol for you. Good service. An LGBT-friendly French restaurant with 1 Hat rating by Cusine Good Food Awards. Kinda like a 1 Michelin star in NZ restaurant world.
Will give 5-star if the food has more tasting profiles. Let's just say I have high expectations.
R. H.If I could give this place 6 stars I would! Best meal I had during my visit to New Zealand. Everything was truly exceptional: the food, the wine, the cocktails, the views, the staff. You certainly pay for quality, but even then I wouldn’t say it was extortionately expensive.
Highly recommend the steak which was beautifully prepared.

The ambience is wonderful as is the service and the food. The venison with crispy kale, Parisienne gnocchi, marrow and smoked compote is the best dish we had on our entire trip through New Zealand.

D.Stunning views of the lake, friendly service and incredible quality when it comes to the food. Very well executed French classics showcasing quality local produce. We enjoyed the most tender lamb and duck dishes we have had, ever. Drinks list covers local drops comprehensively, there is a bit of a strange self service wine-by-the-glass system which is great because it opens up the whole wine list to wine lovers for tastings but it's a bit disruptive with diners getting up constantly and walking across the small restaurant to use it. Like the sentiment though. Overall a one of a kind dining experience.
C. D.Amazing! We loved this place, great food, wines and service. Right from when you pull in the driveway and see the whole place lit up like a Christmas tree you feel welcome. Inside is nicely laid out, the staff are really lovely and helpful (as in, they actually help you as opposed to listening to your request then politely saying it can't be done). The food was fantastic - we both had the 5 course tasting menu with matching wines (note, the menu is often different to the online one) and every dish was spot-on.
The self-serve wine station was also a bit of fun as we hadn't seen that before.
Can't fault the place, best food experience we've had in New Zealand to date!
We attended as a couple on a Friday night in July and booked a week out from it, one of us is gluten free.

R. D.Not five stars only because a tip was asked for by the payment machine. We don't tip in NZ, we expect to be charged the necessary amount as part of the meal price. We shouldn't have to feel like cheapskates for pressing a 'no tip' option! Otherwise, great meals, and service far above the normal standard in NZ.

M. S.A Wanaka Favourite, Bistro Gentile is guaranteed to deliver if you are looking for fine dining in Wanaka. Start with the beautiful location overlooking the golf-course and the lake... move on to the super comfy luxurious semi-outdoor chairs which make you want to stay forever and of course the food is top notch. This week we took a relative and she was suitably impressed (having travelled to France on numerous occasions she rated the "Frenchness" as on the dot). We both enjoyed the Salmon starter as the winner on this occasion. Thanks for a wonderful night team!

L. T.Best pinot noir in the region. Went there for the wine tasting and stayed for appetizers, the pinots are insane, rich and bold in flavour. Wone tasting is only 10 NZD, very friendly staff and the bottles are a very reasonable price for the quality.
