It was a cool blustery October evening when we rolled into Wanaka. We could see the food trucks from our accommodation, so decided to check it out. I’m glad we did. This was over off the best burritos I’ve ever had. Loads of your favourite meat and usual burrito fillings. What made out superb was that it was toasted to just the right degree to hold it together nicely. Well done team. Highly recommended!

These are excellent fat burritos! Very probably the best in Wanaka and the wider region. Best in the hemisphere or the world as some reviewers claimed? Let’s not exaggerate. Appreciate the spice scale though we detected a sizable leap between 6 and 7 (out of 10). Is it an exponential scale or something? We had the pork and beef burritos and both were excellent.

A couple of vegan options. The big size is a decent size, does end up in a mess however. I asked for no spice and it was still spicy for me. Overall it’s a cool vibe there and a beautiful view

I had the mushroom burrito, spice level 5 which was described as ‘hot’. It had a good amount of warmth while not being so hot it masked the tastiness of the other ingredients. I ordered a small and it was the largest small I have eaten in a while! The veges in it were fresh. Definitely recommend!

Suuuuper tasty Mexican!! Absolutely blown away by the place! Pictured is the dairy free monk fish burrito bowl and extra guacamole & salsa. Love how accommodating they are for food allergies. Easy to order online and then pick up a short time after. The best thing is that they arnt stingy on the guac which is absolute heaven! My fiancé got the mushroom/potato/spinach/pepper burrito and will not stop raving about it and it’s super soft wrap. 10/10 for sure!

Best burritos and tacos I've ever had! Lots of options, generous portions and quick and friendly service. My favourite was the chicken burrito - packed with flavour and heaps of different fillings. You should get the Mexican soda drink with it because it uplifts the flavours of the dish. I can't wait to eat here again next time I visit Wanaka.

Burrito Craft is located within a cluster of food trucks along Brownston Street. We had a very good burrito from here during our recent stay in Wanaka. Burritos are made to order, you choose the meat filling and the level of spiciness. We tried the adobo chicken burrito medium-hot and very much enjoyed what was made. Burrito was thick, filled with good ingredients and tasted very good. This was a good burrito and reasonably priced lunch stop in Wanaka. There are a couple of tables right outside this food truck. Otherwise, take your order and enjoy it back at your hotel or perhaps down by the lake, just a 5 minute walk from Burrito Craft.

Nice place with lovely folk, food was good but they are not joking when they say it gets spicy We tried the large burrito with pork and beef mix and it was great. Do note it gets crowded and a burrito takes about 10 minutes from the moment you order, so you might have to wait for a while.

Amazing vegan burritos!! They have two options including a mushroom, spinach and potatoes(amongst a lot more tasty fillings in there!). They also have a smoked jackfruit option that made my choice more difficult. We decided to split a large mushroom spinach burrito with level 7 spice, it was the perfect amount of food. We were full but not stuffed. Their sauce is outstanding and went perfectly with the burrito!

My go to takeaway in Wanaka and in my opinion one of the best value for quality fast foods! Also the fresh cooked tortilla chips are the BEST thing ever... just get them if nothing else (but also get a burrito! Ha) They also do a loyalty card, which is well worth it if you are a local.

Had a taco, and it was very tasty. But of most note is, is the comprehensive spice chart. I had level 8 out of 10, and it was the hottest spice I have ever tasted (and I love spicy food). Much hotter than Nandos Xtra spicey, and hotter than 'Thai hot' from your average NZ Thai restaurant. I appreciate the commitment to providing proper hot sauces.

That was funking awesome. Best burritos we have ever had. My partner was starving and is a adrenaline junky spice fiend.. he had double filling and level 9 spice and was suitably contented with the delicious flavours and taste, fullness and the face melting. My order was on time! this was a hefty burrito for $15. 5 stars for those aspects. but the burrito its self was 3 star in my opinion. flavor of the meat filling was punchy but slightly salty. the rest of the fillings were bland unfortunately. this resulted in a very one dimensional experience. This is a do not miss stop for when you’re in the wanaka vicinity. After living in LA for 4 years and then spending 3+ years now in Sydney/NZ, I can confidently verify that I have given up on finding Mexican food down under; HOWEVER, with a combination of a craving and reading the reviews of Burrito Craft, I decided to take the risk. OH BOY was it worth it! Authentic and spicy and filling. My stomach hadn’t felt this notorious full satisfaction of tasty Mexican food in years. You must go, you must get a burrito. Whichever flavor, I can guarantee will not disappoint. For example, my partner who enjoys a fat steak thoroughly enjoyed the veggie option mushroom burrito and I opted for the chicken. AMAZING. Don’t worry about it, just give them your money and realize this is your new favorite place.

This was our go to place for dinner during our 3 day stay at Wanaka! Food is delicious, quick, comes in generous portions with some a kick of spice. We didn’t want to go out for fancy dinner after hiking up Mount Roy and wanted something cheap and quick so this was perfect for resting at our motel. Best burrito I've had in New Zealand, I have not tried very many because it isn't really a thing here. Being from the southwest USA I eat a lot of burritos back home. This one is quality in an organic white person style. The veggie is ON POINT. Pork isn't bad either. They're BIG. They have hot sauce rated 1-10 your choice. If you order the hotter sauces buckle TF up. I'd recommend 5/10 if you enjoy hot food, lower if you don't like spicy. If you want to hurt go for like 7. I imagine 10 is challenge hot and not enjoyable, but haven't tried. Anyway, GO EAT HERE. I'm craving a large veggie burrito right now!

Probably the best burrito I’ve ever had! It was juicy, everything balanced, I love that you can choose the level of spice (if you can’t handle hot food, be aware that 3 is already a lot). Small one was quite big filling-wise and totally worth it.

It was the best burrito I ever had. I had the adobo marinated chicken and my partner the shredded beef brisket. The meat was tender, and the burrito generous with the filling. I also had the fish taco a day earlier but I prefer the burrito. It's too bad that I don't live in Wanaka and I'll be able to eat their burritos over and over again.

Had the large burrito with pulled pork today, and damn that pulled pork is amazing. Truly melt in the mouth. Really liked the ability to select spice on a 1-10 scale, as mild, hot, extra hot really doesn't cover what you need it to. Pretty good value, and the quality of ingredients is really high. Could only improve by figuring out a way to get more dining space. As it shares a space with multiple food truck vendors, you have to scrap it out for a place to sit and eat. However if you're grabbing and running, would definitely recommend.

Went here 3 times within a week when my wife and I were visiting Wanaka! Loved it. Super authentic Mexican burritos and tacos. The fish tacos were delicious and super fresh. We also loved the burritos, which they grill after wrapping, which seals them closed and keeps them nice and saucy, without the mess. We both subbed the sour cream for the spicy chipotle mayo, another great choice! Would highly recommend this place! The two people who run this food truck have done their research and definitely know the craft of good, authentic Mexican food.

Just stopped at Burrito Craft for a quick bite and we came away satisfied. We sampled three different choices of taco: mushroom, beef and pork. They're all pretty big and tasty - but beware of the mushroom taco, it might be too hot for some. The only thing this place is missing is a clod beer to go along with the food.

As a spice connoisseur, I have traveled far and wide searching for my spice limit. Everywhere I eat that offers spicy food, I ask to make it as spicy as they possibly can and am usually disappointed. Today I was not. I ordered a burrito with a spice level of Face Melter Hot AF. I was thoroughly warned that it was seriously spicy and even tasted the hot sauce they use. I was told they use about 50 times the amount I ate as well as use Carolina reaper peppers. I still went through with ordering it and eating it. It was the spiciest burrito as well as any other food that I have ever eaten. Good job guys, thank you for showing me my spice limit.

Was really eager to get here and wrap my hands around an amazing burrito, maybe I shouldn't have had the bar so high...as the large veggie burrito was only just above par. The meat ones might be great though, so I wouldn't tell anyone not to give them a try, but not worth 5 stars for me. The wait time didn't bother me too much, but it was about 20 minutes and would definitely be one of the longest times I've waited for a burrito if it was busy I wouldn't want to know what the wait time is like then.

Great Burrito truck selling authentic, great tasting Mexican fare. The owner/chef has a great vision and a clear passion for Mexican food. Solid vegetarian options including the amazing mushroom tacos. Mexican sodas available which is a nice touch. Dessert options available but the chili chocolate empanadas weren't as polished as the rest of our meal. Well worth a visit for lunch, dinner or a snack when you're in Wanaka.

I'd recommend not going out of your way to come here, which myself and three others did due to the overwhelming positive reviews. The burritos were at best, mostly average - a bit tasteless, grilled and salad inside (?). We're by no means fussy, but agreed that Guzman make better ones. If you're really craving a burrito, then this is your place, but try not to have high expectations like we did. We ate: vegetarian, pulled pork and fish. Price could be a bit less as well.

As an American who has lived in NZ for a couple years now, it has been difficult to find a proper burrito, but these guys pull it off at a reasonable price. We had the adobo chicken burrito, crispy fish burrito and pork burrito and they were all wonderful. You can even get it spicy and I don't mean Kiwi spicy, I mean hot Mexican spicy. :) Highly recommend grabbing some food from these guys at the truck and heading down to the lakefront park. Can't beat this in Wanaka.

Very tasty burritos stuffed to the brim. Only issue is I asked for no lettuce and there were bits throughout the burrito. Don’t think they put them in, just cross contamination of fillings. Probably not a problem for most. Spice was good, had 2nd from top and it gave a nice tingle without overpowering the taste.

The burrito are tasty like other people have mentioned. But I would say definitely be aware there can be a wait even if person at the counter doesn't mention at all. A small sign we noticed after ordering mentioned the possibility of one. Burrito Craft is a decent place to stop for a quick bite while in Wanaka. I wouldn’t call their food amazing but it’s not bad. The prices are a bit steep since they just have a trailer with some picnic tables outside. They also charge a 15% surcharge on holidays. Strange...

Whooooaaaah that's a good burrito! I've had my fair share of Burritos in my time. But these burritos are hands down the best. I was on a ski holiday in the south island. People ask me all the time what my highlight of the trip. Yeeaaah skiing was great but let me tell you about these burritos I had. Anyway you're doing an amazing job . And if you decide to pack up and move to Hobart I will pay your wages just to eat burritos every night.

Okay can I give more than 5 stars please? By far my most favourite meal in NZ. I've tried it multiple times and it's never failed to disappoint me. The fact that they turned a non-mushroom eater into a mushroom lover with one dish is a big thing! I have tried their naked burrito bowl with mushrooms and their mushroom taco. Love their spice levels. One cannot go beyond 8/10 on their spice chart even if they are a crazy spice eater! It's a cute little food truck along with many others. But a must must musssst try!

Not great, but not bad. As an American traveling, I was excited for what looked like it was going to be a burrito I would get back home but this didn’t really have Mexican flavors. The wait was a bit ridiculous, and my burrito wasn’t even really warm. $20 for a very average burrito and soda, maybe not worth it.

This was great. 16 NZD for 3 tacos. We shared 6 tacos between 3 people and we're very well fed. The fish tacos are very nice. Don't forget to bring a napkin. They are juicy.

Burrito was overly salty and didnt have much flavour (just salty). The bowl was pretty much chicken on shredded lettuce with some sauce. it wasn't terrible but I wouldn't go back. if you like burritos Dubba Dubba (Riccarton, Christchurch is way better - though they have their good and bad days)
