What an amazing experince. Great staff and incredible food made by talented chefs. We got the 9 course Chefs choice mix up and got to sample some sensational flavors. I cant speak highly enough of our night, just brilliant. If in Wanaka this is a must.

Incredible experience at Muttonbird. Amazing ingredients which are in season with each dish full of flavour and textures. There’s a touch of different cuisines in a number of dishes which makes it such a great experience. Would definitely return again!

Dinner at @muttonbirdwanaka was a fantastic meal for our anniversary! Highly recommended and we will be back. The King Fish starter was incredible and the rest of the meal was frikkin delicious even if I did order to much. You have to try a Blooming Onion when you’re in town.

Stunning. Innovative food, attentive staff. Not just one of the best restaurants in Wanaka, Muttonbird would stand out in any city. You come here to dine, not gaze out at the view. The "trust the chef" menu was amazing. The wine list is small but quality. We were impressed with our wine waiter who knew his stuff. We'll be back.

Such a fabulous evening with delicious food top class service and friendly helpful staff. Loved George's trust the chef choice, each course was a taste sensation. Sensational dinner in a really pleasant setting. We had the trust the chef menu with one of us being vegetarian and the other non. The team were really accommodating and brought different dishes. The flavour combinations were superb with lots of wee surprises in there. And the service was excellent. Plus a really good wine recommendation. We'll be back!

We were blown away with the quality of the food. We opted for the chef’s selection and were not disappointed with amazing flavours and excellent value. The place was humming and I’m not surprised. Although it was difficult to locate the restaurant - better signage required. But what a treasure. Highly recommended +++++

Absolutely top notch dining experience this week at Muttonbird. We enjoyed the trust the chef style meal, everything was excellent but standouts were ; the crudo - that ginger dressing just next level.. and the usually carnivore diner rated the sweet potato and green bean dish as a favourite and that bay seasoning on the blooming onion is super moorish! The friendly open kitchen and casual but intuitively attentive service and those beautiful white wine glasses and wine recommendations made for a perfect evening. Thanks team Muttonbird, if we lived in Wanaka it would be a regular favourite.

We did the Muttonbird mix which was great! The food was amazing, the portions were perfect, the staff are great at their job, have a lot of product knowledge and are funny! Lucy is my favourite! Highly recommend!

Last minute booking at Mutton Bird that did not disappoint. My husband and I devoured all of the dishes that the kitchen served up. Salmon being the highlight for me. So fresh and a perfect balance of spicy, sweet and salty. Some world-class dining in a town that for such a long time has delivered a lot of mediocre dining experiences. Can’t wait to come back another evening for a aperol spritz and blooming onion on the deck. Definitely check this place out when visiting Wanaka and support a great group of people producing incredible food.
