Reviews of Country House Restaurant
G.
Awesome staff and great food! I love the kimchi stew, It warmed me up. The bulgogi and jajangmyeon were delicious as well. A must-try when you visit Wellington.
S.
Tried the Jjangmyun and Tangsuyuk, both were really good and very tasty!! The lady owner is very friendly too! Definitely a must try! Will def come back to try other dishes.
A.
One of Wellington hidden gems. Tucked away at the end of a corridor off Manners street it’s a true delight for your taste buds. The chicken bokkum it’s superb and my go to dish however everything else I have tried on the menu didn’t disappoint and it was as delicious.
S.
Loved the kimchi. Loved the food. Great service. Highly recommended
S.
Places that do well in Wellington have one thing in common, they are consistent with what they deliver. Country House is that type of place, came here for the first time around 9+ years ago and the only thing that has changed is the price (fair enough). Flavour and portion sizes are exactly how I remembered it and is still my favourite Korean restaurant for "hot & spicy pork", #6 on the menu. Side dishes were as good as always, bean sprouts are definitely my favourite still. Must try!
S.
There are several non spicy dishes if you can't handle the spice. They're also very good.
I prefer spicy foods and they're very good.
Will go there again!
BTW food are still authentic!
M.
Very friendly service and very good Korean food. It was quiet when we visited but would certainly recommend it.
D.
Serving time is fast but food quality is mediocre comparing to its price the side dish is not tasty as other Korean restaurant. Not too much of choice for food as well. Portion of food is good though:)
A.
Soups are yummy, and the price is okay. But not so happy with their service, especially the waitress with a constantly cold face🤨
H.
There is no break between lunch and dinner serving. So can visit anytime before 8pm. Good hearty food, clean shop.
The Best bap, cooked rice, in CBD
Jjajangmyen from Friday to Saturday until ingredients run out. The Lady owner always welcomes customers with big smile.
A.
They are friendly and the food is tasty. I like their kimchi and potatoes.
M.
super friendly staff and delicious meals :)
A.
Great little hidden gem! Authentic mums cooking style Korean restaurant. Dweji Bulgogi (spicy pork) #6 is he go to, but to be honest I have loved all the dishes I’ve tried so far!
Fast service so great for a quick lunch on lunch breaks.
I highly recommend!
A.
Amazing food❤❤❤. Very friendly staff👍👍👍

Our go-to for a delicious and healthy bibimbap. Would go here more often if I had the time. A hidden Wellington gem.
R.
Excellent kim-chi pork and the world's best Korean omelette. It's the style of home-cooking that always gives happy satisfaction. We find every opportunity to come back to drop by for a meal.
I.
Good genuine korean country house
K.
Oh man I eat here at least once a week, the lady who owns it is so nice! She gives me a hug when I come in, the food is amazing and affordable! The chicken bokkum is my favorite but only if you like spicy food! Otherwise get the bulgogi :)
M.
Authentic home cooked style Korean food. One of the best Korean restaurants in Wellington. Always went there with my grandmother while she was visiting.
D.
Not a lot of choices on the menu. Food was good though, as well as the side dishes 😁 tasted like homemade kimchi. The service though, not that great. Utensils and water we had to get ourselves. I'd go again for the bibimbap 😄 yum!
R.
Authentic cooking. We are lucky to have it here in Wellington.
A.
Best jeyuk in Wellington! Limited menu but all the food looks great.

I've been coming to this place for years! Solid, delicious dishes, to eat your own or share with others. Lovely owners. Worst part about this place is when they're closed!
A.
Amazing food and service, A warm and welcoming atmosphere make this a great place to go on week nights. I definitely recommend coming here.
J.
Probably the best Korean restaurant in the CBD. The food is hearty and reasonably priced, with a nice range of side dishes.
M.
Hard to find, down a corridor next to Visique. Great food once you are there however. This isn't fine dining, but delicious meals, at a decent price.
F.

저희는 3명이서 5가지 음식을 시켰다.
모든 음식들이 맛있었다.
사장님도 친절하시고 추천합니다.
Y.
(Translated) The stew is the best here,
Cheonggukjang is really real. The smell is amazing.
Soon tofu stew is so delicious.
The price is 15-17 dollars, but I'm satisfied with eating out elsewhere !!
(Original)
S.
(Translated) Jjajangmyeon is delicious ㅠㅠ The noodles are really delicious~
The amount was subtracted, but it's just a normal amount...
The sauce is also delicious, but the amount of sauce was small, so it was crispy
(It seems perfect for those who don't like to eat salty!)
(Original)
M.
(Translated) It takes quite a long time to service. But the service is very friendly. The more the Korean people, the better. Some food tastes do not look good. Not clumsy with the price paid If you really want to try, recommend the menu. Chicken with sauce (not sure how much) costs about 32 NZD.

(Translated) I think it's the most delicious restaurant in Korea
I really enjoyed it.
I had kimchi stew, seafood soup, sundubu, and tteokbokki but it was delicious except for tteokbokki.
