Beautiful location at Wellington waterfront. White bait fritter was nice, small size over $20 and the big size for $48.00. The place was busy but the service was not that organized. My friend had to ask twice for her salad and she finally received it after all our meal so she ate the salad by itself. The salad was like drowning in a salad dressing and was not a good presentation. The place was busy and apart from this, I love the atmosphere and the view over to the ocean. I want to go again to have more white baits. My friend had the Pork belly and she thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lovely experience, friendly staff, scrumptious food with serene view. We had the 7 course degustation meals without wine as all matching wine are white wines while we prefer red wine. We are not a big fan of goat cheese but other than that all the dishes were very yummy and interesting, especially the Vietnamese inspired double cooked Pork Belly and the Roasted Duck dishes. Would come back to try other dishes for sure!

Thank you for such a lovely experience. Couldn't recommend this place enough. The food was delicious and the staff were absolutely amazing. The view was gorgeous from our table. We had a great time.

Most restaurants have one or two choices. Dockside gave me a separate plant based menu to choose from. Brilliant. Dockside, you rock.✊️🏆

Very pretty restaurant with a diverse and tasty menu. Located right on the waterfront with an absolutely gorgeous view of the water, and the few boats that typically reside at queens wharf. It’s really really beautiful on a nice day. The staff were also very kind and helpful.

Beautiful restaurant setting right on Wellington's waterfront in a lovely historic old building. The customer service was friendly and attentive, but I thought the food was way over-priced for the quality and quantity exoerienced. I had the scallops and calamari starter which was $26 and scattered around the plate to make it look like a big portion. For mains I had the lamb rack for $42 and it just wasn't that tasty. I was also very surprised when the waitress had to ask the chef if I could swap out the potatoes in my main for broccolini. Just thought at that price, any changes could be easily accommodated and not questioned. I wouldn't rush back there.

Came here for the first time for my wife’s birthday. Great place to celebrate special occasions! Totally enjoyed the food and Leona, our server was very approachable and was very patient with our questions and favours. Keep it up girl! :)

Bluff oysters were nice, could have done with some proper mignonette but they were well shucked. The chicken parfait share platter was fine, usually I find restaurants don’t give enough bread but in their case then just about piled on a whole bakery… only it wasn’t great bread, some day old pack n save trash. The calamari and scallops were nice but plated like a disaster. At least the calamari was cooked well and not chewy, I would definitely have again. Polenta chips were average and we didn’t even order the fries but they turned up anyway, also average. Can’t say I’d rush back to Dockside but it wasn’t terrible.

Wow, amazing food and amazing service. A special shout out to Imogen who was very attentive to ensuring we were all well looked after. Imogen was definitely a stand out although all the team at Dockside were fantastic. Thank you for the great food and great service. Highly recommend 👌 👍🥰

Always lovely dining here at Dockside. We had a lovely ladies lunch on Saturday. The food was superb and the staff super attentive. When in wellington, I always try to visit - I’m never disappointed. Besides, you can never get sick of the views :-)

Really enjoyable night, food was of high standard, service levels were good, and location exceptional. Certainly worth the visit. Large table group, so service whilst very good probably lacked the personal edge which pricing dictates. Recommend definitely.

Good friendly staff. I stopped in for a drink and took a seat in their outside seating area. Really nice on a sunny day to be able to see the sea and be under shade of umbrellas on nice cushioned seats. Would definitely go there again

Went to dinner at Dockside on Sunday night. We booked a degustation dinner, the food and service were excellent. The team really went above and beyond to cater for dietary requirements.

Sat outside with a few Asahi pints - great atmosphere, easy to reorder with the table QR code! Heaters were a bonus!

Very nice place and good view. The food was delicious and good amount (a bit expensive though). I did not give 5 stars due to two points, the place was so loud that was not easy to hear people around the table (barley the person next to you), and I've asked for one out of three vegan dessert options which they came back and said 'sorry we don't have it' they offered me the second option which I accepted, then again came back saying 'sorry, we ran out of this one too'.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal with friends over the weekend at Dockside, nice atmosphere and stunning view from our table. The food was beautifully prepared and presented, although waited a long time for the food to arrive. If you like mocktails, I would definitely recommend the Nojito (Strawberry)! The Baileys cheesecake with mocha glaze dessert is just so decadent and delicious.

I went there for afternoon drinks after an activity filled day. They've got a cool table service app that let's you order and pay without leaving your seat. It worked very well for us, but I'd be worried if I was visiting for a Friday night session!

Beautiful restaurant, the food, ambience right on the water with perfect waiting staff who are so friendly, attentive and polite. Thanks so much for also being on First Table, to allow us to be able to afford to have a celebration lunch here today.

Great service, great food and a perfect location.

Delicious food. We got these two as entrees. Squids and scallops were served with lychees and the little yummy green herbs that not sure what they were but they all were so good together. Got tabled by the window. Nice view and helpful waitress.

Food was amazing and looked picture perfect and the drinks tasted delightful!. Would give a 5 however I have been here twice and both times had the same waitress who kept saying things under her breath about my table which in my opinion was a bit unprofessional.

Great atmosphere and service Excellent wine service and selection. Food was good but should have been alot better. Duck confit was dry, normally roasted in duck fat for hrs, so it was odd. Salmon was great. Rib eye was tough and was trimmed/ hacked before cooking. I hope it will be better next time....

Service at this restaurant was outstanding and the food was simply divine. Food was a little slow coming out but it was still prepared in time for us to attend WOW on time. I was a little disappointed I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip when paying the bill as I find that rude. Will definitely go again.

For the perfect ending to our sisters WOW visit, we lunched at Dockside Restaurant & Bar on the wharf and the views of the harbour were lovely. The restaurant has a brightness and the ambiance was relaxed. Our waitress was very attentive and engaging and we decided on our choices of crab wontons with coconut caramel sauce, seafood chowder and steamed mussel pot in coconut milk and lemongrass. I ordered a Central Otago Pinot Noir to accompany my lunch. The entrees were amazing in particular my crab wontons, simply heavenly. Following on, we had the pork belly chicharones and tempura prawns on cashew nahm jim with pickled ginger mayo and apple syrup, confit duck with Pinot jus and beetroot and kumara with almond creme and these mains were delightful. Finally, we ordered desserts of banana crepes with golden rum caramel, Black Forest gateau chocolate sphere and apple and blackberry crumble. These dishes were the crescendo to the symphony of gourmet delight we experienced. I eagerly look forward to dining here again and trying the degustation menu. Highly recommended with distinction!

we had superb service today but 2 very average dishes. crab wontons and crab souffle. both were bland and rubbery and sauce was best described as peculiar. The amazing young woman who served us quickly removed the dish and offered an alternative . I chose the chowder which was nice. No one raved about their meals but were very complimentary of the service. It's Wellingtons best harbour dining spot so the great company and superb rose 2 degrees made up for the glitch in food.

Good food and would be great for anyone who wants to have a special lunch / dinner. I say this because it is quite pricey and you don’t get a lot for what you pay for but once in a while on a special occasion I’d eat here. Flavours of my meal worked well together and the pork was very tender. Many many cocktails to choose from too and the ones I tried were delicious!

Dockside is a stalwart of the Wellington waterfront. I've been going there for nearly 25 yrs, and I'm rarely disappointed. Our 3-course Christmas lunch today was typically delicious and beautifully presented. In fact I'd say it's possibly the best food I've had there. For $75 I had a tender duck salad entrée, crispy pork belly main and outstanding mini pavlova, perfectly cooked with freshly whipped cream and berry purée (you can tell I have a sweet tooth). My one and only criticism would be that the main was just a bit light - when your meals don't come with bread or side dishes, that is. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect more than two pieces (mouthfuls) of pork belly in a main dish, even if it did come with two prawns. At the end, I was a wee bit hungry, and that detracted a wee bit from the exquisite tastes and the great service.

Very nice location with decent food that was well presented. The staff were a bit too enthusiastic and you couldn't take a bit of time to enjoy and relax without having a menu, bill or something else out under your nose. This was a shame as it disrupted conversation. Overall decent though.

Amazing food, so super delicious, beautiful presented and excellent service from our charming friendly waiter Ben. The front of house guy on the till was super rude, no personality or eye contact, not just to us but other guests. Its a shame we finished off our amazing night at the dockside having to engage with him. I'm hoping he was just having a bad night as its unfair to give less that 5 stars just because of one bad staff member.

The venue is stunning and the staff are helpful and attentive. The food was nice but I wasn't sure if it was worth the price. Wine was expensive. Saying that, I would go back for an occasion.

Had dinner on Tuesday evening and it was incredible! the sharing places were perfectly sized for the four of us and the sangria was one of the best we've had. Letitia was an amazing server and really made our night perfect, couldn't have asked for anyone better! would highly recommend!

Excellent food and wine selection and good Covid approach. Could be improved by adding a low alcohol craft beer to the menu, eg Fugazi or Clipped Wing.

What a great place to relax and enjoy some fantastic wine and food. Top notch sea food and lovely alternatives for those not so keen on oysters or fish (but I do recommend those if you do like seafood). Great friendly service and a lovely outlook, being right in the waters edge in the middle of the Hussle a bussle of the city center. Check it out, you won't regret it.

Had our mid-winter xmas work social club function here, wonderful meal, so nice to not feel bloated afterwards

Friendly service, seperate bar and restaurant areas, cozy wooden interior and of course the food was fresh and delicious. Best to order a few sides though as the portions may not be enough for those who like Lonestar sizes. Handy location on the waterfront, right next to the Crabshack. Lovely views despite the wet weather.

Location and decor really very nice. The food is generally quite good. Chowder is tasty and rich, though suspect thickening is from cornflour. Enjoyable dish. Steak was very good and the pesto and vegetables with it were tasty and rich. The wine selection is limited but well thought out. Service was professional and attentive. Our waiter, Ben, was knowledgeable and has an impeccable attitude. Pricing was good.

Meal was delicious. Ravioli was amazing with pine nut butter! Service was good and quick to come out, even with a full restaurant.

Seemed a little disorganized. New person I think?45 mins later and we were still just having orders for starters taken. Staff also didn't know the menu that well re dietary requirements so a lot of going back n forth to thr kitchen. Food was good when it did arrive.

Nice setting and most of the food was ok, but plant-based people can do better. The lasagne was eerily similar to a Vera Moda frozen vegan lasagne from the supermarket. The waiter claimed it was made in house - either it was and it tastes pre-frozen, or it wasn't and he was fibbing. Either way, save your $32 - you can get it for $3.25 per piece down the road.

Went for the lunch with my colleagues and really enjoyed their food and service.

The food was lovely but didn't especially wow us, especially for the price point. However the wait staff are friendly and efficient and I did have an excellent martini. I did also find the parmesan churro on the steak very delicious and the chocolate ball was fun.

Our party of 9 celebrated a 70th birthday here. We requested a dockside table - wonderful. The drinks menu was comprehensive, including non-a options. The food menu was substantial. We enjoyed a wide variety of dishes, all of which were beautifully prepared and presented. Service was prompt and professional. We recommend Dockside as a venue that will provide fabulous indelible memories.

We had a function upstairs. The staff where friendly, professional and provided excellent service. The food was tasty and there was a good variety on the beverages. The right place on a beautiful Wellington evening. We wanted seafood and thought Dockside sounded promising. Booked online. It was a calm sunny evening so the stacked doors and retractable roof beside the dock were open. A slight and welcomebreeze carried a light smell of the ocean (although this is inner harbour). We were greeted warmly and shown to a perfect table where all evening Hannah looked after us attentively. Hubby had seafood chowder then scallops and squid. I had soft shell crab then whitebait. We had a salad and cauli gratin, bubbles and digestive. Everything was faultless. We left very happy diners indeed.

If I could I would give 10 stars. This was one of the best days out. We had my parents 50th Wedding anniversary here for lunch on Saturday. Excellent service, beautiful food, lovely atmosphere and great communication as there were a few of us booked in. I will recommend Dockside to everyone

Mishap with the meal for one of us at the table and two of the side dishes were delayed. However, my whitebait dish was just perfect for me.

Dined at Dockside in Jan 2021 and just couldn’t wait to go back - (from Auckland) so thrilled to have gone last week with Friends. The Angus fillet & braised beef cheek with amazing brandy & peppercorn sauce etc was again so good - the whitebait fritters entree was a treat and the desserts were super. We looked out to the water and the service (Josh I think) tops - well worth tipping - and we did with pleasure - Look forward to returning again - Thankyou Dockside 👏

My partner and I had the most delicious Degustation menu - I went for the plant-based version and he the non-vegetarian and we were both blown away by the amazing dishes which kept coming out! We also upgraded the Wine Match which were perfect matches for each course. Not only was the food and setting perfect - the waitress was an absolute gem and made a wonderful night out even more special with her bubbly personality and friendly manner. Cannot wait to make Dockside my regular!

Everything about Dockside last night was perfect. Wellington had turned on another stunning Summer's evening. Sitting outside on the wharf the positive vibes (from the socially distanced tables for drinks) and the atmosphere was buzzing. Inside for dinner, with of course the fabulous view of the water, the boats and the wharf. All our meals were exceptional. Beautifully presented and tasted divine. My friends from out of town were in raptures. To top it all off the service was 5 star Michelin standard. If you are wanting a fantastic dining experience on Wellington's waterfront you can't do better!

Had a wonderful meal here today. The food was delicious ( I had market fish and he had wagyu beef) and the service excellent. We had a window seat and it wasn't too busy so noise levels were muted. Music was at exactly the right levels for the customer (too many places have it too loud). Cara, our waitress, was excellent and I selected my two dishes in her recommendation and they were great choices. I'm taking one star off because of the toilets. It's harsh because the problem was obviously a customer who thinks others should clear up after them :( but staff need to keep checking and making sure soap dispenser is full. Will definitely go back.

Awesome location!! Service attentive. But people at our table thought the food was not classy enough for the prices. And also, honestly, how can you offer piccles beer as recommendation for burgers without warning that it does not taste like beer? It was the most disgusting drink I ever had and a colleague tasted my beer and seconded that.

Setting; right beside the water. Waiter; very attentive, personable and knowledgeable. The dishes; sublime and plated artfully. I had the duck entrée. The duck was cooked to perfection. Set upon a nest of grains, it was a delicate taste sensation. I had the pork belly as a main. The meat was tender and complemented by a a quartet of purees that balanced and enhanced the pork beautifully. Dessert; a chocolate torte that was pure decadence. Thank you Dockside! 😘

Had a lovely lunch with a couple of friends. Seafood chowder was delicious! Ingredients were fresh and flavors were spot-on. Complimented by a good piece of bread perfect for dipping in the soup. Service couldn't be faulted. Views were of course stunning on a sunny Wellington afternoon.

Using the GrabOne voucher, there were 15 of us who wenr for a 3-course dinner with 1 free drink for $699. We all had fun and the food is amazing, as usual 😍. The duck confit salad is the best!! I can have this as my mains too, anytime!! The double-cooked pork belly is just the right-size and tenderness. The deserts are all good and the view from the third floor of the restaurant is just magical!! Service is great too!! All-in-all we all left full and satisfied!

We went to dockside last night to celebrate our engagement and wow, it was a night to remember! The service was absolutely amazing and the staff were very friendly and talked to us throughout the night even though it was a busy dinner service and checked on us to make sure we were enjoying our night. The food we had was absolutely incredible and couldn’t fault any of the dishes that either of us had! The staff made a effort to make our night more amazing by providing a seat by the window to make the night that much better!!

For this price point, I would describe this restaurant as ‘okay’. Atmosphere and view nice. Service fine. Meals a mixed bag: really tasty and well presented lamb and chicken dishes; but a tiny and tasteless market fish dish sitting on ten tonnes of tomato; and, worst of all, a ravioli dish literally swimming in oil (that you felt you had washed in afterwards). Deserts nice enough - particularly the pavlova - but nothing special. Expected a bit more than adequate.

High quality food and cool view out over the water at night. We got the multi course meal. We had asked for no seafood and got given clam chowder and didn't realise and started to eat it, it was swapped after but the whole experience was a bit awkward. Busy atmosphere when we went, staff were lovely. Would go again but it is pricy so is only an occasional dinner out for a special occasion.

I bought a GrabOne voucher for 5 course degustation with wine pairings... would highly recommend! The food was absolutely delicious, every single course was beautifully presented and had so many different components and flavours. Tasting all the different foods and wines was so much fun and it felt like a really special evening in that beautiful setting. I was eyeing up everyones food on other tables too and it all looked amazing! The waitress was also very friendly and enthusiastic :) Thank you!

A very nice eatery with a super atmosphere!

The starters were absolutely incredible, had 4 options between the family and all of them were interesting and full of flavour. The mains however didn't stand to the same quality. The meat was chewy and overcooked (ask for medium rare) and the flavour balance for the other options was wrong or just a bit bland - a total let down. That said I was holding them to a high standard after a solid 5/5 starter. Desserts were also good of you're that sort of person!

Splendid food, stunning views and nice staff. My partner and I dined for 3 hours & enjoyed a 4 course meal with drinks to follow. Everything was on point. Couldn't fault it!! Best restaurant we have eaten at. Thank you!!

Normally I hate fish and chips; but they offer both battered and crumble-coated types. I opted for the latter and it was delicious. Excellent chips (fries for you Yanks). Friendly service as well. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Came here because we saw they had Czech beer on tap, which was ice cold and delicious! Was slightly disappointed with the size of an order of chips (a bit small) but sitting outside was great, even though there was some construction/renovation going on. There was a table with hats, sunglasses, sunblock, and water free for patron use which was amazing. Too bad you can't take the hats with you, they were cute! I hear great things about the bang bang chicken so I'll have to try that next time!

We held our small wedding at the Dockside this weekend and had a wonderful experience. Paige and Madhav ensured that we were very well looked after, with access to the projector and AV system so our distant loved ones could tune into the ceremony. We then had a lovely meal afterwards and the staff really made our evening special. Thank you!

It's a very fine restaurant with friendly funny stuff and everything is good. We are 4 Swedish persons that thought this food was sweet, lammracks was sweet, the pork was sweet and it's served with a syrup that is sweet. Don't get me wrong the food is excellent if you like food more sweet, in any case you can use salt.

Love all of the food. Best chowder I've ever had. Only down side is we went to do the degustation dinner when making a booking online. But had to put it in the notes as there's a menu but no option to book for it. When we arrived we were told we could only book it through a third party website, we couldn't just do it with a normal booking. Understable, so we settled for main menu. Only to see a couple next to us as well as a family on the other side of us were asked if they would like the option to do a degustation or their normal menu. Again, beautiful food regardless, but dissapointed that we were not given the option when it was specified in our booking and we were prepared to pay normal price (instead of discounted price through third party). It was the main reason we went.

WOTP the food was lovely, looked lovely just not alot of it, however not the 1980's minimal look either. I feel now that WOTP been around awhile I realise you can't do what was done in the past entree main glass of wine $35 but if only a main let there be a little more food please. Still enjoyed the Dockside. Had a lovely waitress also so thanks to her for giving our party of 4 a pretty good experience inspite of not having alot of food. Cheers

I was unimpressed with my visit to Dockside. The setting is beautiful but the food was pretty bland with tough meat. I understand that you pay a premium because of its location, but still when paying ~40 for a main I expect better quality. The staff were friendly and nice but there was a very long wait on both the food and drinks for no apparent reason. And being given a bill where you have to fill out the tip amount... Ugh, we don't need this in NZ.

Such a great spot although definitely one for special occasions. The bar seating is darker than I enjoy but the restaurant side is very nice and naturally lit but cool enough in summer and warm in winter. Ideal celebratory brunch location.

We went to an engagement party here, the venue was lovely, the food amazing and the staff just fabulous. There was a guy by the name of Ben who had some of the best customer service I have ever seen,at one stage he had a babies bottle on one hand and a try of canapes in the other so that a Mum could have something to eat without babies feed being disturbed.

Great place by the harbour, beautiful view from both indoor and outdoor seating. Good enough platters and food, but the platters could be tad bigger.

The service is great, but the food here is a little disappointing for the higher prices paid. My sirloin steak was quite tough to cut into and was somewhat salty. Presentation was generally very impressive. The lights weren't turned on when it became dark so it was quite hard to see what you're eating!! Bad marks there 😒😞

Nice location with lovely view from our table for two beside the windows. Friendly waitress. Husband ordered seafood chowder and rump steak and myself the duck plus a side of brocolini and green beans plus I got side of bread. After a few minutes waitress returned to say rump steak wasn't available nor was the brocolini. Why at 6.30pm on a Saturday night was the rump steak which was an option on a separate piece of paper as a special all gone and no brocolini only green beans available? Most restaurants when buying for the evening would buy an alternative green to replace the brocolini but not Dockside apparently and other sides didn't appeal, no carrots or any other vegetable option other than a leafy salad or slaw. Lamb was ordered instead and just a plate of beans and new potatoes. My measly $4.50 roll was like a rock, been warmed in oven for way too long. Duck was nice. My pavlova dessert was delicious and recommended and my husband enjoyed his peach crumble. Note the menu on their website is not what is actually on offer so obviously not been updated when new menu released. Thouroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and my cocktail to start but probably won't go back for a while

Had the delicious 5 course degustation from grab one by Head Chef Marie Penny. The food was mind-blowing amazing. The flavours complemented each other and the wine pairing was adequate. We were waited on by the lovely and welcoming Chrystell from France and she was totalling amazing. Her customer service was over an above her hourly pay rate and she easily builds a great rapport with you. Love love love this pla eamd would happily do this again😁

We bought a grabone 5 course degastion dinner. Just because we bought a special deal didn't stop us from getting a fabulous table with a great view, excellent service/staff and a great meal. Will definitely return.

Bit of a icon on the Wellington restaurant scene. Fantastic location right on the water and the food and service is always of a high standard. Good wine list too though they could offer more 'by the glass' options.

The restaurant has a great location, you can watch people going by on the dockside and the Days Bay ferry coming in; the food was OK, esp. for us as vegetarians able to order several side dishes, but only one veggy main dish which we didn't bother with. The welcome was great and the service was attentive, except that I counted at least 15 times the waiting staff addressed us and other customers as "Guys" (My wife is definitely not a guy!) ... better to play safe and not say anything or if you can go more formal, try Sir or Madam. The music was a bit loud.

Generally a nice experience. The staff were very friendly and attentive an my 2 companions enjoyed their meals. So why the 3? Well our table was booked for 6.15. We arrived and were told to head upstairs to our table. Only to be turned back by other staff who said the room wasnt ready yet due to a previous wedding function and could we go back downstairs and get a few drinks while we waited. After 25 minutes I went to the bar to enquire when the upstairs was going to be ready to be told that it had been ready for about 20 minutes....but nobody had bothered to come fetch us. My 2nd reason for the 3 was the selection of vegatarian mains or lack thereof. There was only 1 choice which when it arrived was a large beetroot in pastry (nice play on words for the name though "beet Wellington") with a very small smattering of vegetables. This dish would have left me very hungry had I not opted to order a few side dishes of vegatables. I wonder if the chef had actually tried eating this course as their main meal for the day? It was lacking substance.

Was there for our sons wedding. The food was amazing had the seafood chowder as a starter followed by a fish wrapped in nori. And then finally the pavalova. Simply Devine. Staff were awesome anything we needed they did. They were very helpful considering it was a big group of roughly 80. Thanks Dockside for helping to make it an amazing day.

I came here for my work Christmas dinner and overall it was a good night. The starter and mains were OK and the dessert very good. Had to wait an unacceptable amount of time for the mains as the restaurant was very busy. Service was very good and the staff attentive and polite.

I have been to dockside many times before and it's a good venue for food and drink however recently it did not live up to its usual standards. We brought a package where we had a choice between dishes in a entree, main and desert, entree was very good as per usual but that's where it ended. The main was not great (pork belly) crackaling fat not rended and desert was a store brought pavalova. One of our party was also pregnant and ordered a mock cocktail, she was served an alcoholic cocktail and her main turned up after the table had finished theirs. We were supposed to receive a drink as part of the package which was not supplied at all. Like I said have had many good times at dockside however our last visit was not up to its usual standards.

My lunch will stay in my memory it was sooo good. This is a beautiful spot and the most immaculately clean toilets I have ever used. The staff were helpful and charming - I would definitely return.

The venue is very nice. The old building is well done and right on the waterfront. The food is of a high standard and very tasty. The dark chocolate tort is to die for. It can be quite noisy sometimes.

Nice place with a good bar and great selection of drinks. You should include more vegan items on the menu. The vegan cheesecake was beyond amazing but it was the only obviously vegan thing.

Steak was grain fed, greatly increasing its carbon foot print & losing alot of its good grass fed taste

Dockside has amazing food and service, we've visited a number of times and always enjoy it. It's one of the few places located on the waterfront and over the water which makes for a superb atmosphere and they have a great selection of local craft beer!

My friend and I bought a voucher online for a 5 course degustation with wine. The food was fantastic and the staff charming and helpful. My friend is pregnant and so asked to change the wine to juice. Instead they made a special mocktail for every course and they were all delicious! We will defintitely be coming back again.

The out door seating is really nice. Needs a bit more shade though. I prefer it over the shed or foxglove anytime. Good beer and drinks selection and they also have solid food.

The bar was nice, could do with a few more wind breaking screens outside. Almost lost my beer to the wind. (I know its Wellington, but that just means Wellingtonians should prepare for the wind rather than blame incidents on the wind)

Fab views, it's a waterside front-seat that feels like a floating restaurant without the sea-motion. There are many pubs and restaurants along the waterfront with wonderful views but Dockside is unique. You can cozy up to the waves and have them "lapping at your feet" if you book a table beside their French doors, then watch the ferry and other maritime activities until the sun sleeps. At sundown drink in the harbour's twinkling charms and like a true sea-dog savour the salty, night air as well. DRB would make a great venue for entertaining international visitors, special friends or for hosting business events. And it is the perfect location for a romantic dinner for two to celebrate that special occasion in your life. Or meet up for an informal drink outside next to their warming fires. It is located close to the Crab Shack and the East by West Ferry terminal.

I had a lovely evening here with a close friend from Wellington and met a new one a very talented Artist from Australia we had so many laughs and the restaurant was busy but not over crowded our view of the water and marina wharf area was so beautiful at night I highly recommend this restaurant and prices are reasonable, We were there mainly for Crab Burgers which was tasty and pudding was even more so. If you are visiting Wellington I definitely recommend going here.

Brunch/ lunchwas yummy but the service went from slow to a 30 minute wait for after meal coffees which we ended up cancelling as they were only just thinking about our request. All credit to the maitre de who credited our first drinks and apologised.

I love the food here and service is great but don't like being served with rancid olive oil. These people need to use loCal certified NZ EVOO.

Good bar, a regular for many people. Good food also and well populated in summer. Staff can be a bit overworked and grim some times.

Sterile, pretty care less attitude by staff. No warmth in the service which is rather unfortunate as the location is great.

I have attended a few functions here. The food has always been delicious and the staff have been very proactive at circulating the room to meet the needs of guests.

The Dockside Restaurant is in a great location on the Wellington waterfront. A lovely outlook, good food, lots of choice & excellent friendly waiting staff.
