J.Our new favourite. Early after work dinner and such a cool vibe, great friendly team. Beautiful tasty food. Tapa style so you get to try many tempting dishes. With fruity sangria on the side there is a lot to like.

I was happy ish with my meal. However our potato dish was cold. The duck dish was also cold and chewy. I've have much better duck elsewhere.
The glazed carrots that came with the duck were delicious. 😊

Given me and my wife's dietary restrictions, eating out tends to be as much a challenge for us as it is for the dining establishment we've chosen to prey upon 😂
Between the two of us we cannot eat gluten, dairy, soy, bell pepper (capsicum), and we choose not to eat meat/fish.
So, it was surprising for both of us when we were given an allergens specific menu, reassured that the kitchen would do it's very best to accommodate us, and served some of the most astoundingly delicious food we've had since visiting NZ (all this despite the staff being clearly stretched thin on a pretty busy night).
Was the food we ordered Cuban? Nope. But it didn't matter. It was incredible. The flavors, textures and satiation brought to our table with each dish was unparalleled and completely unexpected.
As long as you don't mind having a little patience and going out on a limb, your stomach will thank you for dining here.
D.Awesome little hideaway spot. My wife and I got a lucky walk in table last Saturdsy night. It was a cold night but the Havana bar had a cozy welcome atmosphere. Very good food and wine. We loved our few hours there. Great vibe!
S.First time to Havana Bar, 6 of us went from work at 5:30pm on a Wednesday. Restaurant side of the place was very quiet at this time but by the time we left at 7:45pm there was hardly an empty table.
Waiter was very informative and gave good advice on the menu. We ordered 6 different entrees and all the mains and shared all between us. Loved the peas in the entree the best.

V.A great environment, friendly staff, original cocktails and delicious food. I went there with my lovely husbsnd for some drinks followed by dinner. The highlight was the awesome De Lujo 2.0, a manuka-smoked blend of products (including smoke) create this unforgettable cocktail.

S.On the recommendation of my brother Peter, we went to the Havana near Cuba Street. Good choice, we ate in the restaurant and had a lovely selection of tapas. R particularly enthused by the pickled mushrooms and her dessert of liquorice flavoured pannacotta.

D.Menu was not great. Potentially post covid recovery menu - pork belly and tortellini, completely different continents from South America, and the tapas are fairly basic. Still tasty food... but not as I remember from pre 2016, when this was a regular hot spot for me and friends.

Also, Havana and all the staff involved were excellent and super helpful when helping me organise my birthday dinner there. We had about 15 people and the set menus, service and hospitality were all wonderful and the night was magical because of it. I would go there again in a heartbeat.

N.A real find off the end of Cuba St. Had a business lunch here today. Everything was excellent! Best tapas I've ever had. Real fine dining quality door and presentation. Brilliant service, very cool decor and great ambience. Will be booking dinner here with my beautiful wife very soon! Also need to book some time in the beer garden at the back as we head in to summer. The only surprise was that it wasn't busier - but I'm not complaining about that. Highly recommended!
I.A hidden Gem on the Wellington low key bar scene, if you don't know you don't know. The kind of place you go to when you want to hang out with mates, like a house party with expensive drinks

The menu is constantly revolving, and the prawns are deservedly famous.
It can sometimes be a little noisy, but on those magical still Wellington summer nights, with the doors open, Havana can't be beat.

Only downer was the feeling of pressure to add a tip to my $347 biĺl. no issues with the bill, but if the boss is not rewarding his staff for providing excellent service, they should shut up shop. How does the boss feel about paying extra on top of the bill he receives for deliveries or trades services?
NZ is not a tipping country, don't rip us off.
This sort of carry on is enough to send me elsewhere next time, recommendations less.
D.We popped into Havana Bar for a drink and a snack before a movie and went back for dinner afterwards. The staff were very friendly. The tapas they served were filling and tasty. A great range of craft beers and cocktails. Wait staff bring drinks and food to the table. The place was busy but my wife and I were able to sit quietly together at a corner table. We will be back for more.
O.On this day (22 Aug 2019), I felt particularly warm and cosy with everything from the wait staff till the end. The food was all very tasty. The cocktails were very good, too. Service was good. The atmosphere was good.
A.Restaurant review - The food, presentation and service, was perfect for us. We tried many different plates (as it's a tapas style menu) and each plate was really well cooked with good tasty sauces, and sides. Drinks & cocktails really good too!
H.Awesome place, its layout is in a H. One half of it is a beautiful upbeat modern rustic style restaurant with a bar and through to the other side it is a proper bar with a Cuban vibe to it. Such a unique place with a guaranteed enjoyable experience every time. Delicious tapas food with a very flexible menu for allergies like gluten free and dairy free. JUST ASK! They will give you a customized menu to your own needs so you know exactly what you can or cant have or can swap something with. They catered over and above for us and we didn't go hungry or miss out on any delicious flavors. Awesome customer service.

S.We went for the Big Foodie Quiz(Wellington on a plate event). We were expecting only finger food and were most delighted with the platters presented. We got gnocchi, beef cheeks, yams, salmon tartare in sesame cones, confit baby carrots and raspberry jam jellies with pineapple sherbet. All the plates were delicious and I felt that a lot of thought and detail has been put into making a unique event like this so enjoyable. Kudos to the crew and chefs at Havana Bar.

N.Was anticipating something good. The peeps behind Fidels created this and maybe we werent there at the right time. We had a bunch of tapas and none of them were great. The bread components were disappointing. Possibly later in the evening it gets more of a vibe on. It seemed like more of a bistro than a bar. Overall not a bad time, but not great.

Less than a year they haven't got it into their thick skulls re charging a credit card fee.
It's the only place that persists with this. I eat out frequently and this is the only place that still does this. Guys, it's called pissing the punter off.
I WONT EAT THERE AGAIN ON PRINCIPLE AND I URGE OTHERS NOT TO EITHER. There's plenty of other cafes in Wellington just as quirky.
