Nice place to have snacking of fries and mac and cheese. They also have burgers and etc as an option. Soooo yummy.... Fair price and normal portion. Located at Cuba Street with the city live environment. Visited there when travelled to Wellington. Will be back next time to try other menus.

Popped in for a quick lunch with my wife. Got a couple of burgers and a sample box of some of the other offerings. Friendly staff, and nice food and flavours, but all the food was very very salty on the day unfortunately. Hopefully not the norm and we just caught it on a bad day.

I must say the reception to our orders by Ms Alisha was beyond words. She was like daughter!! . Very helpful in our choices and service was excellent. Very prompt serving despite a good crowd. Emulates the old "greasy spoon" almost too well. No qualms with the accommodations and the playlist was spot-on with the vibe, but I've been spoiled for vegan options in Wellington, and better is available within easy walking distance. That said, I've no specific complaint and I'd be happy to return, but probably as a 2nd choice if I found my more preferred venues full or closed.

Spent $4 extra for the Beyond Burger. Despite the hype this pattie didn't really taste much like meat. The Impossible burger is much better. And the burger was smothered with a mayonnaise that killed all other tastes.

Place is pretty dirty, there were several pidgeon's eating old chips from the floor. But I still give it 4 stars cause the fries were actually friggin amazing and will come back, but maybe for takeaway this time instead.

So exciting to have an entirely vegan fast food restaurant. The burger (chik'n) was fine. BUT, these loaded fries were delicious, worth every cent. The Fries themselves were great and the sauces and cheese were really good.

Burgers were nice but for $11.90 it was bit small for something that was called BIG. Shoestring fries were bit burnt but crisp. Nice that water was in easy access but overall experience was underwhelming.

Although a bit pricy, if it's late at night this place offers decent vegan mcdonalds-esque food that's open till late! For the best burger experice here be sure to upgrade to the "premium" beyond meat patty.

Wow, where to begin. James, my server guided me through this exquisite menu in full detail. His customer service was immaculate yet effortless and I have never been so overjoyed by a fast food restaurant service as I was with LOTF. I cannot finish this review without mentioning the amazing service of Jeremy the cook. My food came out hot and delicious and I’m so glad I chose to dine at Wellingtons very own LOTF. Thank you James, and thank you Jeremy, for a fabulous evening, I’m sure we’ll meet again.

Loved it. Plant based fast food, burgers, hot dogs and drinks. So much variety. Kids love it too which is always a good sign. Generous portions of fries. The owners of the NZ stores happened to be in on the night we visited. Lovely people.

The fries themselves are fantastic, I can't comment on the rest of the product range, however. The sauces for fries are definitely overpriced, and are mediocre at best. I'd suggest just getting your own from the supermarket if you're taking them home. Service is hit or miss during 'lunch' hours even when they're not busy, usually seem to have deadpan expressions, I don't think I've seen them smile once. Once while waiting for an order right by the counter, had the member who'd just served me and asked for my name yell out across the place for me to collect it, and there were no other customers after me. TL;DR, the fries are great, my service experience from them has been very... Negatively memorable.

Sneaky plants! A premium Spicy burger with shoestring fries managed to surprise this dedicated carnivore. Take all the elements of a cool, independant burger bar but just substitute the meat... Friendly, prompt service and reasonably priced. Keen to try the Chick'n (i.e. soy protein) nuggets next time.

It's pretty consistently good but not great fast food. Great to have a vegan place like this. The nuggets are good as are the shakes. But what happened to the southern fried chikn?!? That was the best thing there and it's disappeared off the menu for months now. Asked through multiple modes of communication at multiple levels without a single reply apart from instore ("they'll come back soon") which is why they get 3 stars.

Just went to the Cuba street branch and overall quite enjoyed it. I think the mission statement is admirable and I love what they are trying to do. Is it perfect? No, but what fast food is? I thought the burger (parma) I had was pretty good and definitely beats an actual chicken burger alternative of the same tier, but I think the bun could be lighter. The poutine fries were decent too, and I liked the gravy. Not a huge fan of the cheese if I'm honest and as a vegan myself don't miss cheese enough to crave a substitute, so next time I'll just skip the cheese part I reckon. Looking forward to trying the other burger options in future. My only main gripe is that for what it is it does feel expensive, but on the other hand I wouldn't exactly go there daily to eat so I reckon once a week or every so often is enough as a junk food treat splurge. I've read the other reviews on here and I have to say that I feel really bad for them. As a past business owner myself I'd be pretty wounded by some of the comments and harshness of them. It's a shame most people only review stuff when it's negative and hardly ever review the positive. Anyway here's a good one guys! Keep at it :)

Excellent food and the meat substitute options are very good. Not exactly a 1:1 like the beef strips (although they taste exactly like sausage to me) but still much better than most I've tried. They almost include too many fries, certainly with the munchboxes but if that's your thing then no problem!

Cool place, one of the only things open at 10am on a Thursday. I love the food. Its always very tasty. I watched a pigeon walk right into the restaurant and around the counter. Not sure how to feel about that.

According to their website, they are "famous for our fries", and they are "serving up the best hot chips". Not in my experience, they aren't. Straight up front, I'm NOT a vegan or a vegetarian; but that's not what I object to - in fact, their plant-based "meat" substitute was quite nice, and their sauce(s) had good flavour. But the chips themselves are just not that great. Pity.

The BEST lord of the fries I’ve ever been to! Have been several nights in a row 😂 So so much better than the Australian lord of the fries stores. Huge thick slices of cheese! Get the original burger. It’s the best! 100% and not the mini size! The mini size is a joke like?! I think the vege faux meat is far better in this store than the other ones! Took a couple of different meat eating men ‘bbq steak farming bloke types’ and they loved the bacon beef burger and original- they had no idea it was vegan- they still don’t and they were sober! The guy that looks like Moby is nice- However: Pigeons inside are an issue- gross! Even when drunk at night. Burgers could be assembled warmer/ they need to MELT THE CHEESE on the patty. Could be more friendly. I can see how vegans get a bad name from the staff. Need to practise the efficiency and precision, assemblage of Burger King and Mc Donald’s to win over customers.

I love that they specialize in vegan only versions of fast foods, however alot of the patties/sausages seem to be seitan (should be pronounced SATAN) based. I can't stand seitan. The taste isn't bad, but the texture is weirdly chewy. I'm just not really a fan if I'm honest... Had the premium burger Patty. Bassically pay extra to have the beyond burger instead. It wasn't bad.

Food was really good, I ordered the phish munch box and you get HEAPS of fries for the price of it, the fries and mock fish were cooked fresh to order and there's a huge range of sauces to choose from. Really happy to see LOTF in Wellington, awesome affordable vegan food for when you want a fast-food fix, will keep coming back here

Lord of the Fries is one of my favourite places to eat in Wellington and that says a LOT because there’s some mean places here. Oreo shake is hands down the best Oreo shake I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot) pair it with some of their cinnamon donuts and it is HEAVEN. Also highly recommend the shoestring fried with Parisian sauce. Always excited to go to Lord of the Fries, they never disappoint. Sincerely THOSE girls, you know the ones
