Fantastic parking to start with, great atmosphere as we entered, wait staff were super friendly and accommodating when we wanted to change tables, we ordered the Tuesday pasta deal, 15 different types of pastas from different regions in Italy to choose from. Our group favourite was the tortellini stuffed with pork , this was yummy. We also decided on a couple of pizzas.. Oh Wow.... You have to try the pizza it's delicious. To The young Chilean man who made the pizzas.... delicious!!!

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! this is my second visit and this time bringing my friends here visiting from South Island cuz this place is soooo good. we had the Napoli pizza, Spaghetti Aglio Scoglio and Pork Cutlet. Everything was so delish that we ended up ordering a Parpadelle cuz we can’t get enough of them. The pizza is a wee bit too salty because of the anchovies, so we’ll perhaps try another one next time. The spaghetti was VERY yum and the pork is flavourful with some nice green beans mashed poppy with lemon juice to top it off. The parpadelle is as good as always, the pork shoulder is tender and juicy. Side notes: the cocktails and red wine were also rather nice, such a wonderful add to our meals. As for desserts, we finished it off with a Tiramisu and Chocolate pie. They excelled our expectations, the Tiramisu is thick and has rich chocolate, while the Chocolate pie is also big YUM especially the strawberry ice cream on the side. Overall, our experience here is pleasant and amazing, 10 out of 10, would recommend to everyone.

The service here is very good and friendly. The pizzas are good and they have good selection of vegetarian options and vegan options and GF options. They are also have a liquor license so than can serve drinks when eating in their restaurant. They have a good selection of beers and wine’s, they also if I remember have some whiskey options. I really highly recommend this restaurant it’s nice to have a good restaurant in Newtown. They also have their own parking so finding a park will not be a problem.

I actually enjoy the food and producer here. The 3* reflects my frustration at the customer service and kitchen hours which are about as minimal as you can get. The pizza's are great but have found the other dishes especially salads, to be very plain and bland. The ambiance is lovely to sit and have coffee in the sun.

Great store. Good choice of Italian food. I always end up wandering around amazed from the quality of the food. There is also a good variaty of cheese and cold cut which, also, they can slide in place if you need. The staff in very nice and welcoming, they have good knowledge of what they sells. Good job guys. We usually get some pizza to take away or the pre made meals in the deli they have excellen lasagna, ragu, bolognese, etc that you can just take home and chuck in the oven. Highly recommend

Great staff, awesome coffee and a lots of Mediterranean food options, meat cuts included. Did not have a change to have a meal there but will certainly come back when I'm Wellington again.

Very nice place, very good food and pizza! Lovely staff I really enjoyed my dinner over here. There was only one little problem, the gnocchi that we ordered was cooked without salt... But me and my friends we really enjoyed the time there.

Always yummy! Bit disappointed that waiter didn't come back to ask if we wanted coffees when we'd finished eating lunch.

The pizza looked great but 26.50$ is quite some money for a normal size pizza. We waited more than 30 min on the food and tables ordered later got their food earlier. The WOAP burger was average to lower end. The bun to doughy and the patty was dry. The Mortadella sandwich was nice.

Today while having lunch alla trattoria I had an amazing surprise, Antonio Gubello, a first-class pizzaiolo master was there creating pizze deliziose. I could totally feel the magic touch he brought since he joined Med Foods. I highlight recommend going to try his pizza!

I don’t think I’ve ever given 5 stars to anywhere before but these guys were awesome! Best service I’ve ever had whilst at dinner! We went for the metre pizza on a Monday and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, our waiter showed us to a table suitable for our guest on crutches, and after delivering us chilled water to the table which was refilled without needing to ask, we had questions about the menu which were happily explained as I’ve never had so many vegetarian options to choose from. it was a delicious dinner and great service. Covered Parking adjacent to the restaurant was a bonus especially with someone with mobility issues. The cheerful and polite waiter provided me with a recyclable box to take home my leftovers also! Fabulous

Meter long Monday's are such a great experience. We were very sceptical, but the pizzas are delicious and very good value for money. We will be back again.

Oh my gosh! What can I say! We turned up on Wednesday night looking for good food and came across this gem! We were seated straight away which was the first bonus, the fella who served us was friendly which we appreciated too. The food was the best I've had in a long time! Sadly my partner's portion was a lot smaller than mine but that is the only negative I can give. The decor is really appealing and the store seems to keep a wide range of stock. I can honestly say I'll be back again some day Highly recommend the pork pasta as it was simply fabulous!! Thank you for the beautiful night ❤️

Good pizza, friendly staff and lovely location

Really like the cool little supermarket with awesome food, really like the cheesecake and Italian hot chocolate.

The food is great the atmosphere active but noisy. The waiters are all lovely and helpful. One of our favourite and regular places to enjoy. Their shop attached has lots of suplies which once you have paid your restaurant bill you can use to get 5% off the shop goods. 😁

Lovely restaurant attached to a continental deli where I bought my dessert which I had at home. Ordered one pizza with tomato base and decided to try a pizza without the tomato base (reluctantly). However I really liked the later ... so pleasantly surprised.

Honestly, it was amazing. The food was fresh, vibrant and prepared well. The restaurant has an awesome open floor with huge glass windows and we were lucky enough to enjoy the sunshine late into the evening. Service was great as well, they even gave us a portion of the tiramisu for my birthday! I definitely will be returning! Thanks for a memorable evening team!

So authentic I often have to Google menu items to understand what I’m ordering. Start with a refreshing Hugo Spritz and then order a carafe of the house wine with anything off the secondi menu and you won’t be disappointed.

Good food, good service, reasonably priced, serving sizes are reasonable (not large, not small). Coffee is just ok, applying Wellington's high coffee standards. The coffee to me is 3.5 stars, as an indication. Nice ambience, spacious and so it's not super busy like many other places. Good spot for lunch and a chat. They have a shop area at the back selling imported Italian goods - keep your restaurant receipt and show it at the shop for a small discount on your shop purchases. They have limited customer parking in the building, from the side street next to the shop entrance.

Best pasta dishes we have both tasted in a long long time. Mine was the superb pork pasta. Hers was the lamb. Both outstanding, great service and quick too. Highly recommend and look forward to returning asap!

Deli: great tasty products. We really like the prosciutto cotto. The service, sadly, is consistently garbage. We typically spend a long time waiting at the deli to order; and the checkout waiting to be pay. Visits that should take 5 minutes take more than 20 minutes. This isn't a one off. We've had this happens our last 4 visits. But... We still go. I guess we really like the deli goods.

One of my absolute favorites, my husband and I go here frequently. Delicious pizza and pasta, friendly staff and a lovely cozy atmosphere. Customer parking at the back too. They also do great coffee if you're passing in the day too!

Terrific pizza and great mezzo. Efficient and friendly service and reasonable prices. Big airy interiors which make for a relaxing atmosphere. Menu is not extensive but that’s a good thing. Kid friendly and good choice of Italian wines. Certainly some of the best pizza in Wellington.

I pop in here for a glass of wine or two some afternoons, it has a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. It's nice to have that Italian feel and obviously drink the Italian wine!.... Still need to try the pizzas 😊

Why a sparkling water should cost $7 while I didn’t order it? Friendly staff but very overpriced and limited food. It is another good place to waste your hard earned money.

Enjoyed the food but service was slow. We had to chase up our initial drinks and also the wait staff to place our food order. Possibly short staffed due COVID.

The wood fired pizzas are amazing we family of 5 go there quite often the gourmet topping are incredible. The service has consistently been fantastic.

The service was poor. We had a party of 12 but there were only 8 water glasses, no water and nobody came near us for nearly 40 minutes! By the time we ordered bruscetta to share our mains were arriving. The food was tasty traditional Italian- stand out was pork ragu with parpadelle. Tiramisu was lacking substance. We wondered if they'd run out of biscuits!

Wednesday night (24 February) I had the pleasure of eating a 6 course pasta menu. The pasta was mouthwatering, each mouthful a taste bud sensation. I’d book again for such food delights. Go Mediterranean Food Warehouse, Newtown.

Absolutely delicious puddings including the Tiramisu, orange cake and warm chocolate cake. The garlic bread was fab too. Topped off with friendly attentive service.

Excellent lunch - I had the seafood spaghetti which was the right size for lunch and had plenty of fresh seafood. My companion had the calzone that looked great and I'm told tasted as good as it looked. Friendly and efficient wait staff... Highly recommended

Was really looking for a smoothie on a Sunday afternoon but not a lot else open in the area. No smoothie option but a beer was nice. Although we hadn't originally planned on eating in, it did seem a little rude to clear the table of cutlery & napkins while we waited for our drinks, and kinda decided it for us that we definitely weren't hanging around to eat. We probably could've been persuaded to stay for a meal, the menu looked good and the restaurant/deli itself is pleasant. Unfortunately our waitress made us feel like we were an inconvenience.

An escape to the Mediterranean. Has great food and a wide selection of ingredients.

Good food and always busy, which is a good sign, wood fired pizza is a specialty. It's a delicatessen warehouse and restaurant mixed on the same site. Setting can be a bit too open plan and high ceiling make it a bit echoey, but easy to buy delicious foods.

Fantastic traditional oven fired pizzas. Other dishes could be better (the carpaccio wasn't up to scratch) but hard to criticise the pizza if that's your thing.

I only had pizzas there and they were great. I got a good service and the staff was quite friendly. The other day I ordered online and the pizzas were ready just in time. They also have a market part in the back of the restaurant with a good range of wines, sauces, cheese and other cooking stuff. Definitely recommend it.

Genuine Italian Pizza in a great environment with a real Italian feel. Great for groups and family outings but not for intimate dining. Worth a special visit if in Wellington. Recommended.

Updating my review and knocking a point off for service. Our trip this evening was below the usual standard. We had a table of seven, including our kids. Because of a large booking just ahead of us, we were told that one child order of pasta was going to be delayed by 20 minutes and we opted for all to come out at once. While it was good to know what to expect, it's tough expecting an under-5 to wait until bed time to be served dinner. We managed to keep them occupied with bread sticks from the deli, which saved us. After dinner came out, it took ages for us to be seen about desserts. The ice creams came out quickly, but the others were delayed by another 20 minutes. We had to send the kids home with half the group to get them in bed. By the time mine arrived, I was pretty grumpy. Grumpy desserts aren't nice. Original: It's a nice bright space with lots of room for kids to move and having a quick look through the deli usually occupies the kids while the food is prepared. That often leads to coming home with a nice treat, as well. The wood-fired oven means that pizzas are fast and lovely. The menu covers many tastes and customisations makes sure that random demands can be handled.

Exceptional place for a nice family dinner or to shop for any of your Mediterranean needs. Brilliant dinner menu, and awesome drinks list make for a brilliant night. Super friendly and helpful staff also make the experience that much more better. My only gripe is the openness of the place causes it to be a bit louder, though this is just me being petty.

Loved the food, the aroma and the ambiance of the place. Its light and sunny and has plenty of space to sit out on a beautiful day. Its really a gem in our very own Newtown.

Excellent service, Antipasti was delicious, spaghetti was nice, but had a slightly over bearing olive oil taste. My wife liked her risotto but a really strong fennel flavour, more so than required. Tiramisu was fantastic. Overall it was very nice.

This place looks lovely, but I think as soon as you order anything that isn't a pizza you might be in for a bad time. I emphasise might. I had the poached eggs, smoked salmon and tomatoes. The poached eggs were the most overcooked I've ever had and the salmon was musty and old. But 5 minutes later people at another table who ordered the same thing had beautifully cooked eggs and I can only assume decent salmon. Our waiter kindly took my meal off the bill so I can't complain really, it's just a shame it wasn't very nice. So I guess try your luck! It might be amazing... But it might not

Husband ordered fish of the day. It was fresh and tasty. My main course was spaghetti. It was delicious, not too salty and oily. We spent about NZD 40 for 2 mains and a glass of white wine. Staffs are polite and attentive. A place good for couple and casual dining

My husband and I went for a meal here. The food was beautiful and there were vegan and vegetarian options. I had the house red and my husband had an Italian beer, which were also fabulous. We were glad we finally tried a meal here after already having many a coffee on a Saturday.

The place is a good combination of restaurant and grocery catering Mediterranean food. An excellent service from the staff and generous serving of food. The tuna steak was the highlight of my dine in and highly recommended. There are parking onsite via Daniell street and on street as well. Located within the hub of Newtown.

A friend of mine suggested this restaurant for lunch one day. I'd never heard of it. I was absolutely impressed. The food was delicious. The place is amazing. Apart from the restaurant, they have a wide variety of food: oil, pasta, canned food, wine, bread, ice-cream, among others. I can't recommend this place enough. I love it!

Excellent coffee and very nice pizza, with an excellent shop behind. Five stars, except realistically the pizza is probably on the overpriced side, which prevents us coming here very regularly. We miss two-for-one Mondays.

Some of the best coffee in the country I've found! Certainly best in Welly so far. Love the music and comfy couches there - and I would love to be able to come for dinner - when are the gluten free vegan pizzas coming my friends?

Had a lovely evening here. The food was fantastic and staff were friendly and helpful however the speed of which the meals came out was painful at times. Looking forward to my next visit. On a side note the 6 Peroni glasses for $19.00 was such a good deal tempted to buy them all up.

The coffee and ice cream were great but we were disappointed with the pizza as the toppings were so minamal that they only covered half of the pizza which was not great. The pizza was also slightly burned which may have been the style but made it look like a nann bread at four times the cost.

Enjoyed a lovely, relaxed long lunch. We each had the pasta special and shared 2 salads. Good unobtrusive service, reasonable price at $48 each, including 2 glasses of wine each.

Always drive past here and finally stopped for some lunch today, fantastic selection, fresh produce and just all round great spot for a good meal or some fresh supplies. Will definitely be back soon.

We had a Pizza Cooking Masterclass with Gab. We made dough, added our toppings and baked the pizza in the oven. It was fun, informative and delicious! I learned something for life. Highly recommend that place. You can buy also delicious ingredients in the shop.

We arrived 9pm on a Sunday and were the last customers (even though it closed at 10pm). The staff was friendly and service was very good. The food was ok, but not outstanding. We didn't order pizzas, but they looked very nice, on a wood fired oven.

I worked there every Tuesday morning kitchen hand doing dishes and tables I always love there's food to take home and love beer cypus drink apples cake and hot drinks

This was the first time I had been to this Restaurant and was told it was a food warehouse however the Restaurant has been extended over time and now the Restaurant covers approximately 2/3 of the whole floor space. The pizzas taste great and the staff are amazing, friendly and really helpful. There were about 30 of us, which comprised of Onslow College Girls Hockey Team, the Coach and both managers oh together with all the parents. It was a good night and the girls really enjoyed it and finished the night with a Gelato :)

Pizza was fine, as was table service, but we were seriously 'bugged' by flies which was very off-putting and didn't stay for dessert

I love Italian food so this place is something of a Mecca for me. Go to the deli after dining to get 5% discount on the goods there.

The food in the restaurant is very authentic and well designed and cooked. The selection of Italian and other European foods is good.

Really nice place with a great selection of quality products. The cafe is also quite nice, just be mindful that the shop usually opens before the cafe kitchen. So if you are thinking of going for breakfast on the weekend, it's cabinet food only before 11am.

We had pizza and pasta there and the quality was good. There is a 15% surcharge during public holidays. Make sure visit the store in the back for some pastries and cookies.

Was so impressed with the service, decor and food yesterday when I popped in with friends for a meal. New Trattoria menu is different and a refreshing change from your stereotypical Italian pasta dishes. Will definitely be back for more!

Food's nice, but it and the drinks took ages to come out.

Brunchstravaganza! Coffee was good too. Baby was welcome throughout even when he had a poo explosion and had to be changed ( change facilities provided). To top it off we had forgotten to replace the emergency outfit so he ended up wearing a sleeping bag.

Awesome selection of Mediterranean staples, it reminds us of our time in Melbourne with a great selection of olive oils, cured meats and olives. The selection of herbs and spices was second to none. Gelato was a treat too. Definitely be back.

We went here for a meal one weekday night, after booking in earlier in the day. We had to wait for a table which was a bit of pain because we had booked for a specific time to fit around a baby sleeping. Service was slow but to be fair it was really busy. The food was over an hour in coming but was amazing when it did arrive. By way of apology they gave us free dessert, which was equally amazing in taste & presentation

Great place for a drink, pizza or a sit down dinner. The shop is also full of all your fav Italian pastas, wines, meats, cheeses, herbs and spices a great importer.

Great spot with sun streaming through the windows. The Margarita pizza was yummy with just the right Mount of freshly made tomato sauce and melting mozzarella.

Walking through the doors the aromas of pizza circling the air from the large pizza oven lure you in. The waiter was very hospitable and friendly and we were served our pizzas in a very short time.Admittedly the restaurant was not busy at 4.30 pm. Italia pizza was good , however Margarita had a lonely basil leaf on each slice. The deli offers an extensive array of Mediterranean delicacies .The shelves are oozing with everything you require for your tastes buds.And at reasonable prices. Well worth shopping here and maybe a gift as well. Why not stop and enjoy a meal their breakfasts are very good too.

Nice spot, good pizza. One major complaint, $11-12 for Tuatara beer on tap, but they only give you 330ml. Not what you expect from the menu and expensive even for craft beer.

They just completed a renovation recently, love the new look! I ordered a cup of coffee and a piece of gluten free Orange and Almond Cake. Great coffee, yummy cake and great services. I'd definitely like to try their wood fired pizza next time.

Service was slow, inaffectual, inconsistent and frustrating. However, my lamb main was superb and the rest of the party enjoyed their pizzas. Atmosphere was not conducive to a long, relaxed evening, seating was not particularly comfortable and lighting was very bright. Fine for a pop in and move on evening.

Delivery service during lock down has been nothing short of perfect. Thanks to everyone working hard to make this happen :)

The grocery store here has loads of interesting and unusual products from around the Mediterranean area while the cafe area has great service, coffee and delicious counter food especially the cheese scones. The dine in menu also looks pretty extensive although I haven't had a chance to try it out.

Now a deli and a restaurant so actually less deli than there used to be. Best pizza in Wellington. If you're planning on coming at the weekend might be best to book ahead. Vegan and vegetarian options available-just ask, they can veganize your pizza and am pretty sure they can veganize some stuff off the menu. The deli is great-would be very easy to spend lots of money here. There is some parking under/round the back.

Nice coffee!

Loved it, the Gelato was really really good. There was just one drawback though: Waitress did not wear gloves while preparing ice-cream. She did her best not to touch it, but I saw her handling money prior to making the gelato which was a bit "raise eyebrow".
