Great dark space atmosphere, was live jazz on multiple occasions. Really great service from staff who were very busy and put up with stupid requests. It's a little expeny so go during specials like pizza night (which there are a few vegetarian options for) or during events like standup comedy. Thanks again.

This was a surprise. We have chosen a hotdog from the Hobdog event. I have not expected such an interesting place with that flair. I have not expected that quality food at all. The hotdog was really nice. And the selection of drinks available incl non alcoholic ones is really good. Wil lol come back for sure.

The Good: Syd Barrett(Great) , Fire Shield Feta( amazing ) The bad: only 2 servers and the place was full. Covid making things hard but staff did their best. Handpulled beer was not great. The ugly: we got charged extra. So, we had 2 beers, 1 pizza and 1 platter of $25. Charged $90 but was supposes to be $70 approx. I understand they were busy but still it's a big amount. We realized after we came home from dinner and checked our bank account. I hope to get a beer on house next time 😅 #kidding 😉😉 Gave 4 star for great food and smile and took 1 star away for extra $30 charge.

While the food was great and I loved the overall theme and vibe of the place, our server made me pretty uncomfortable and it kind of soured the whole experience if I'm honest. It's such a shame because I would have had a really good time otherwise. I was excited to visit for the first time in many years but unfortunately I don't think I'll be back now.

Phoned up on my landline and asked to be abducted by Aliens. Felt slightly patronised, but was informed of the menu. Tried said menu and was impressed. Not sure about one of the staff wearing short shorts in the depths of winter, but thats something he needs to re ponder with and didn't take away from the fantastic range of creft ber.

Moon has been my favourite Wellington bar for a long time. Great food (fantastic pizzas!), amazing atmosphere and friendly staff. Moon feels like a community spot where everyone is welcome. Oh and always a nice selection of craft beers and lots of great live music!

I come into the moon quite often as it's our local. Love the hand pull beer especially on Thursdays when there's a 20 percent discount. Also my favourite wine.. the Mudhouse merlot is available and it's cheap so win win. Staff are friendly and it has a cool vibe about it. Worth visiting especially when there's a band playing!

They host live gigs here where the up and coming perform. Went to watch the sister Sam (beautiful and talented) and some others do their muso thing here. Casual bar with some really expensive odd tasting craft beer. I was not a fan but others were. They did offer a good bourbon and coke deal though for the limited palate such as mine 🙂

Located on thr main street running through Newtown in Wellington, it seemed an ok place. Only went in for a drink after dinner, so can't really comment on the food/service etc. The had a range of craft beers and cider on tap. $10 for a cider is not too bad for a Wellington bar. They have regular live music from local performers which is cool. I would go there again.

My wife and I stopped in for a beer one afternoon and stayed for 3. A great little dive bar with an awesome bartender (Thomas). Thomas sat there and conversed with us and provided us with great recommendations for the area and was an absolute delight to have met. Great beer selection!

We have been coming here for the past 18 months on Wednesday for the $10.00 pizzas and the free music. What we love about it is firstly the staff there are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and gets better all the time And the music shows that there are so many talented musicians in NZ. It's the highlight of our week.

First time here and really enjoyed it. We came I for a quick bite, which turned into pizza, beer, and a game of jenga! There was a really good selection of beers, and the music and atmosphere was good. There was a good selection of pizza too, and liked that they could all be done gluten free. However, I did think that there were limited side options, which seemed odd as there was an option to have a choice of 3 sides for a fixed rate. We enjoyed our pizza, but it did come with extra toppings which we'd asked not to have. There was also no half-and-half option for pizza. Despite this, I would be happy to go there again!

We love the place as the staff are very friendly helpful. The pizzas, salad, chips and ice cream are all so tasty and good value. On Wednesday they have $10.00 pizzas and free music. There are other things going on during the rest of the week. Check it out.

Moon is the spiritual successor to Mighty Mighty and other classic Cuba St bars of old. There are loads of craft beer options on tap; delicious munchies and snacks available from the kitchen; and nice lounge-y seating with a few tables fronting onto the street for smokers and al fresco seating. If you're into pinball, this is the place to be - there's a good number of machines and it's quite the tribute to this mostly forgotten gaming medium. If you live in Newtown this simply has to be your local. There's a cover charge most weekend nights because gigs are also hosted here. Check it out with friends, or make some friends once you get there - it's that kinda place.
