Classic and really authentic New York Italian Pizza. I enjoyed the beautiful cuisine as a Italian restaurant experience. The interior design was fantastic and also was the staff friendly and helpful. The shop was clean and tidy. I really recommend this place for a visit. Cheers

If you're looking for a different type of pizza. This is the place to be. Big serving and good tasting. Don't forget to get the hot buffalo wings, it's a must try.

Went in to Sals with a hungry team of dancers after a big competition. Was a bit tricky getting ourselves seated after calling ahead to make sure they could accommodate our big group, but managed to snag some tables. The wings were a big hit with the adults and the mozzarella sticks were the fave of the kids. The pizzas are huge. The chicken pizza was delicious, I didn't taste the pepperoni but most said it was a bit oily. The consensus was the wings will be worth braving the busy street it is on in Christchurch to get them again when we go home. Thanks for letting our squealy kids wind down and enjoy some time together.

My daughter and I love going in for a couple slices and mozzarella sticks. I would say it's the best "fast" pizza around (as opposed to wood fired oven artisinal pizzas). Would always recommend, especially takeaway for parties. Tip; for takeaways you can ask them to "double cut" the pizza so you get smaller slices.

Absolutely love this place.Staff always happy and welcoming and the pizza is amazing. When I first discovered this place it took me bck to when I was a child and the neighbors partner across the road worked in Greek families pizza business and the crust and pizza were a true pizza. Also they have a huge tv with YAY NBA basketball which makes the experience even more amazing.

Beautiful tasty pizzas. Quick service and the pieces were huge and delicious. It's right in the center of Cuba Street in Courtney place and you can just walk in for a quick bite.

I never thought a vegetable pizza could taste so good. Bravo! I had pepperoni in New York before and although I did not try the pepperoni at Sal's the place looks and feels like an authentic NYC establishment. Staff were polite and service fast. The pizza is delivered so hot that it needs time to rest. And as I said, my pizza tasted good. We were a party of 5 and all left satisfied. The large screen monitors had baseball showing. I'll be back.

Ordered a way overpriced pizza for delivery and it arrived at my doorstep stone cold, over an hour after I ordered and the order was incomplete. Not worth it if you are ordering delivery, dine in is better. This is as much UberEats fault as anything. Edit: pleased that the staff reached out, they gave me a full refund and a voucher for a free pizza which was way better, although it wasn't for delivery. Definitely helped to make up for the shambles. Thanks!

Delicious New York style pizza by the slice, with a very authentic taste and feel. The only improvement I think could be made would be in the drinks selection, there was a limited number of very standard options. The experience could be further enhanced by some variety of USA-based drinks, but this was still very solid. Would greatly recommend to anyone!

The food was good. The pizza is what you would expect of a New York style pizza place. The buffalo wing were actual buffalo wings with Frank's sauce which is a rare find in NZ. They messed up our order a bit. We ordered two dipping sauces with our wings and one turned up. Also we ordered garlic knots that never turned up.

Huge pizza that is a lot better than pretty much anything else in Wellington. The pizza's are huge and half a pizza is bigger than large pizzas anywhere else. The sauces are nice and the toppings are good quality. The base is the real reason it succeeds in emulating the famous New York pizza style. If you love pizza then do yourself a favour and come here. It's so tasty!

As someone who grew up in the suburbs of NYC and worked in the city for years, I take my pizza very seriously. Normally I shake my head at places in other countries (even in other US states) that label themselves as NYC-style pizza because I've tried an abundance of them and very rarely are they any good. I did the same when I first saw Sal's, but my sis told me they were supposed to be legitimately authentic and she wanted to try it. I reluctantly agreed and walked in with serious doubts. I was a bit surprised when the slices on the shelves looked like real NYC pizza. I was even more pleasantly surprised when we got our food and started eating. I can verify that Sal's pizza is delicious and authentic NYC-style pizza!!! My sister and I walked out of Sal's completely satisfied, and in a complete change from when we walked in, I even exclaimed how happy I was we had it! We got the combo of a slice of pizza, 3 garlic knots, and a can of soda for $11 NZD, which is certainly a good price. My one complaint is that although the sauce for the garlic knots is very good, it is served cold (which is certainly not the norm in NYC). Other than that, everything was excellent! Keep it up, Sal's!!!

Delicious pizza but long wait. The store is very busy the whole times I've been there but apparently not enough staff to take the orders and serve the customers quiet fast. Sometimes I have to wait between 20 and 30 minutes to be serve plus at least 10 min in the queue. Still I can say is is a cozy place and good location.

Remmended order is: A Pepperoni n cheese pizza with a order of original wings and 2 extra blue cheese dips (dipping your pizza in this is delicious) and of course sprinkle Parmesan on top of your pizza! Heavenly!! Alittle expensive as this will run you $50 but worth it!! Tip: ask them to make the wings saucy as they will be dry if you don’t ask (“saucy wings” is the true North American way)

Pizza ok but very oily and kind of bland. Buffalo wings quite nice but the celery that came with them was unbelievable- it looked about a week old, was dry, wilted and brown. The fact this was served says a lot about the care taken by the staff. It's possible I would pop in for a slice again if I was starving and desperate but otherwise have no desire to return.

Sal's premise and food look inviting and there's always customers inside and indeed there is a steady stream of eat-in or takeout diners at peak periods. The pizzas have a delicate structure and flavour and orders are made for single slices, halves or whole pizzas. The latter is large and would suit two or more diners. You won't find chunky bases or tops slathered in mozarella. If you need a stronger flavour salt, herb mix and chilli flakes are freely available as table condiments, which is a plus on Sal's part. Their popular, spicy buffalo wings come with a great sauce (tasting atad like Louisiana hot sauce) and is accompanied by crunchy celery sticks with its own refreshing dip which gives the wings a wonderful balance. There are also other side dishes on offer if you need more food or variety. Overall their pricing reflects the gourmet niche they're operating in. It is in a handy location in Cuba Mall Central where busy foot-traffic prevails and its brilliant window ambience does wonders to reel in new and returning diners.
