Great pizza as usual but order took a while.

I had one of the best hot Buffalo wings, absolutely delicious, comes with two types of sauces, a blue cheese sauce and ranch, and fresh celery sticks, love love love them!!! Great friendly service, and reasonable prices. A good variety on menu too. Garlic knots another delicious item. And the pizzas are the best, especially the crust, so chewy and mmmm delicious. We shared a half half pizza 😋 Thanks guys

The BEST pizza in Wellington. More $ than Pizza Hut, but seriously worth it. Sooooo good!!!

As an American, I can tell you this pizza is the real deal. It's always tasty, the service is friendly and the restaurant is clean. The only downside is the rising prices. It seems that every year the price of a whole pizza goes up by a dollar at least. I'll enjoy it while I can afford it.

Fantastic pizza, awesome garlic knots, mozzarella sticks 🤤 Great service and atmosphere. Enjoyed reading the story about the restaurant's namesake, and the NY-Style decor is a nice touch. I pretty much dream of Sal's Pizza!

As an American, this is the only place I'll go to eat pizza in NZ. Giving four stars because customer service could be better. I also wish you'd open up a shop in Palmy so I didn't have to drive to Welly for some decent pizza.

I am updating my review, Last week I went to order a cheese pizza, Got home opened the box and the bottom of the pizza is literally burnt.. After posting this comment Sal's pizza Gave me a free voucher to compensate the disappointment. I am happy accept the voucher and change my review as they did what was right. I will happily go to Sal's pizza (back in auckland) and enjoy the usual pizza.

Great spot, delicious pizza. They were following level-2 regulations spot on. Expensive pizza, especially in such a competitive environment

EDIT: I've ordered online since writing this review and had no problems, so the issue appears to have been resolved. Original review: The pizza is fine, however if you order for takeaway online they will lose your order. I've had this happen twice and each time needed to wait an extra 30m in the store for them to prepare the order because they hadn't gotten it when submitted. Not the staff's fault but the order system obviously doesn't work properly.

So far the best NY style pizza I have had here in New Zealand, garlic knots are very good as well. Would recommend & nice to have a half pizza option as well.

Delicious pizza and wings, as Sal's always is. Bit more space in the dining area than the Cuba St one, giving it a nicer feel. Will definitely come back. Only issue is the poor staff member was left by herself during lunch service! Still did a great job though, met the quoted order times, and kept the place clean.

Been twice already n luvz the vegetarian slices of pizza plus the very tasty garlic bread serves warm n very sure to be back again n highly recommend for friends coming to Newtown. Yumm!😊

Picked up a takeaway pizza. Interior feels more spacious than the Cuba st branch. Even though I'd ordered online for a 5pm pick up 1 hour beforehand they weren't on time. Anyway, their pizza knots are delicious. Is Sal's as good as Tommy Millions or Pomodoro.....?

Food was fine overall but a few niggling problems. Luke warm pizza, over-frozen cheesecake. Told some things on the menu weren't available only to see them show up while we were waiting for our order. Mozerella sticks were good though.

The closest I've found for a good authentic slice in my 19 years in NZ where I came from NYC. Was so excited when the opened in welly after discovering it in Auckland and now I'm even more thrilled I don't have to pay for parking being in Newtown. And the mozzarella sticks are just like home too! Trust me, it's the real deal and you ex-pats need to believe listen up!

Good pizza it’s bit expensive and it’s not best place to eat in, as the doors open and your sitting down in there on a windy day the wind hits you and it very cold in there. But if you are a vegetarian they have many good pizzas to choose from.
