One of the best Hot chocolate In NZ, but also depends if you don't like drinking chocolate. Personally I love it more than other places. Great customer services, authentic Italian pizzas.

Must try authentic Italian hot chocolate in Wellington! If you love Ciocollato (I hope I write it right 😇) then you will love this place. Right in the heart of Cuba Street, the cool spot in Wellinton, Scopa offers various menus as well along with its famous hot choco. Pizza, pasta, salad and fries as well as desserts can be ordered here. I tried its famous hot chocolate and I have to admit it’s super delicious. The choco is simply melting in your mouth and you will devour it. The sundae is lovely too, big portion even for the three of us. The place is very strategic, right at the busy corner of Cuba street. It has enough space During COVID-19 pandemic, depending on the traffic system applied in NZ, this place requires people to scan the COVID - 19 tracer app, show vaccine pass and wear mask while not eating and drinking.

From the pizza to the olives their signature fried chicken raspberry sundae and ofcourse their signature hot chocolate and our pinot Gris we didn't waste any and we were happy to indulge on all the dishes and drinks. Scopa was an easy place chill relaxed good food azing service fast and comforting you can never go wrong in this place very straight forward just good quality delicious food simple offers that upscale your palate and experience definitely worth the try and a runner up for a go to place

Interesting choice of the pizzas and fine coffee, what can make your experience better? . . . Well . . . Have you ever wee into the bloody rocket turbines? It feels strangely awesome, interior design and attention to the details. There is no colour filters applied to the photos, it is all lighting!

Mozzarella sticks were great but pizza lacked a littlest bit of flavor, specially in the cheese. Some basil leaves were not fresh and it was only ~6-7 leaves on their wholesale pizza. Good overall experience, but could be better.

Food was great, but the service was questionable. Temporarily seated at the bar, but then forgotten… it was busy (during level 2 alert). Okay that’s fine, but they basically forgot about us. The guy serving us, one minute he’s friendly, tells us about the secret menu item, the next it’s like “can you mind to move your plates”, and then drops the pizza on this tiny bar, somehow not noticing it’s clearly not enough space, and walks away without a word... A table becomes available, so we ask a server, could we have that table, “I’m not sure, ask the guy at the bar”… asp we try to get his attention, but in moments it’s just about to be given to a guy who just walked in? So we say hey can we have that table? “since you’re already eating”, not even “sorry about that”. I mean I don’t expect to be treated like a prince or anything, but.. did I do something wrong? Was I wearing the wrong shoes or something… I don’t get it. We ordered an off menu pizza and hot choc The sign out front says “$15 pizzas”, sounds like a good deal until you realize actually there’s only one pizza that price, the margarita. Classic bait and switch. Good food, yeah, but the experience is slightly soured.

They were very good pizzas, simple flavours but very well accomplished, the dough was great too thin and crunchy. Personal portions though, so would suggest to order 1 p/p. Thanks!

Not only do they have the best hot chocolates (maybe in NZ) they very kindly took our table of ten actors just before closing and stayed open to feed us fries and hot drinks after we'd performed a show that evening when we couldn't find anywhere else to sit down and eat. The staff were so lovely and handled our orders without a single complaint or odd look. Absolutely lovely place we will definitely be back!

Ok so the hot chocolate is damn good. It’s consistency is almost jelly like, but it’s hot so it still flows. I’d say this is almost the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. You only really need the small one, personally felt anything larger is too much!

Scopa was suggested to me by my hostel’s receptionist. I ordered a Margherita Pizza & Hot Chocolate. The service was pretty quick. Ambiance was good. Pizza was really good but the main highlight was the hot chocolate. It was thick, creamy & tasty. It was hands down the best hot chocolate I’ve had in New Zealand. Highly recommended for their food.

Really good place to dive in for drinks and dessert. I had a blood orange gin martini and it was absolutely delicious. Since it’s on Cuba Street the crowd is very diverse. I haven’t tried the food, but they do have a menu option that I would like to try soon.

Prosciutto pasta is the good choice as a holiday brunch! Very cheesy and creamy texture. The pasta is not over cooked even in such busy morning, which is very good! The service is exquisite from the direction of tea spoon, to the position when waitress serve you water. Money worth place.

One of Wellington's finest, Scopa can be counted on for high quality food and consistently friendly and professional service. The long-standing Bresolin Brothers joint takes cool to style status through great staff and delicious food. The Italian cucina style restaurant's strength is its pizzas, which vary from complex to simple across red and white bases. Gluten free is an easy option. Strongly recommend going with the intention of choosing the Pizzaola special, a perfect $20 choice. The bulk of the menu actually offers the finer choices of real Italian cuisine: fine pastas and great quality meat. Te sides include delicious asparagus and an always advisable bowl of the best roast potatoes. To top it all off, Scopa boasts an excellent drinks menu offering a broad range of local beers, old world spirits, and great wines from NZ and Italy. Go here if you enjoy food and professional, knowledgeably service, and be sure to plan to be here for one of the surprising puddings.

Walked in quite late on a Thursday night and were immediately given a table. Really quick service, good quality food that is fresh and hot, and staff genuinely seemed happy at work.

I come to scopa just for their hot chocolate, but I was not impressed. I order the large Gusto Cioccolato with Frangelico. The texture is thick and nice. The right temperature, warm that doesn’t burn. The flavor was quite generic like a supermarket chocolate and the Frangelico flavor was over power by the chocolate. I would probably come back to try their food in some point, but if you go just for the hot chocolate is not exactly worth it. Service, atmosphere and layout is really good. The staff is extremely friendly and they are willing to recommend different options if you ask (this is why they deserve 4 stars from my part) and they will make your dinning experience exceptional.

Yummy Margherita Pizza and because I went on 'Margherita Tuesday' it was only $8! Nice flaire and service. Really mindful that they refilled the glass of free water whenever it got empty. If I could change one thing I would take sharper knives for the pizzas but they were cutted anyway so it wasn't that important. I would come again.

The Calamari is delicious. Both Pizzas we had were superb and traditionally Italian. I asked for extra anchovies and got a very generous addition. There was a slight mix up on ordering that was dealt with easily and with no questions. Definitely recommended.

WOW - best Pizza I've had in years, and their fried chicken... YUM! And if you like a cocktail you MUST get their bottled Sicilian margarita - absolutely delicious and they definitely don't scrimp on their shot amounts! I had a wonderful evening here, I was even greeted by the owner who is such an upbeat and positive person, I really enjoyed his energy. I was surprised how well valued the meals are for the quality - I'd expect to pay twice the price for food that good! Oh I also recommend their Kale Caesar salad - very unique but so good! We had a super time here. We were seated pretty quickly after being seated at the bar. The service was great and attentive. Everyone was pleased with their pizzas, and I think the vodka pizza may be the best I have ever eaten.

Walked in off street, restaurant was fairly busy but staff very accommodating and efficient, great menu selection and wine list. Food exceptional along with service and reasonably priced. The pasta was absolutely delicious and the service was genuine. The gramigna was cooked just right and toppings were good balanced. For years and years, this place has been THE PLACE to get hot chocolate for me. They do it the Italian way. So creamy and rich. The service here is also really good, and has always held a really high standard through the many times I've been in the past few years. Also. I love the interior design of the bathrooms. I'm not sure about the men's bathroom, but the sinks in the women's bathroom is really cool. And very unique. The atmosphere here is very modern and hip, and always seems very clean.

We had brunch here yesterday. The food was fine - no complaints there - although the coffee was good rather than great. The service, however, was awful. The young woman serving us clearly didn't want to be there. She was very unfriendly, to the point of rudeness (eg slapping the coffee down on the table). We came here 3 or 4 years ago and remembered that it was lovely. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere relaxing and unpretentious. The food...was truly faultless so delicious. Hubby had risotto and I had the gnocchi. I can't remember a better dish and we eat out frequently. We highly recommend this place and a bonus is the cost of this deliciousness is so reasonable. The following night we toyed with going back but instead opted for a top hotel restaurant and were sorely disappointed, no comparison in quality and value. Scopa rocks!

This is a wonderful restaurant with attentive service and exceptional food. I have experienced the delightful dinner menu including the perfectly flavored prawn risotto as well as the potato gnocci. Scopa is well known in Wellington for its pizza and hot chocolate. The pizza is thin crust style and quite large - easily enough for one and often shared between two. The hot chocolate is thick drinking chocolate and deserves its reputation. While not as well known, the rest of the menu is also fantastic with a variety of pasta, risotto and other dishes available. This place is often full of regulars and can get busy during peak times.

My friend and I split the olives and 2 pizzas and couldn't finish everything. The olives are some of the best I've ever had..AMAZING. I'm not used to having served warm, and they were on point. We got the margherita pizza which was my least favorite and not what I'm used to (no dollops of cheese, just basil and sea salt :( ). The gorgonzola funghi was yummy and different. We also got the spritzers, which were good but not much alcohol for being so expensive.

Delicious tiramisu and amazing hot chocolates - their consistency is more like a pudding than a drink! Note that the small size got chocolate is an espresso shot glass size, not a small coffee cup size. However if youre ordering dessert as well the small will be big enough, but if youre only going for the hot chocolate splurge for the medium!

Great quality Italian cafe / bar that is really busy and yet keeps the service friendly and the quality high. I had the saffron linguini with prawn and crabmeat. The light touch with cream was just right and let the sweetness of the seafood shine. The pasta itself had ramen like tooth feel and was fantastic - stands up to the best I have had. There was little variety of foods on the platter and the servings of cheeses were small. Maybe we'll try the pizzas if we return.

Easy to spot, not far from Cuba St. Although it looks small from the outside, it can actually fit many people. The service was really great, the food was delicious too. It also isn't pricey, I only spent $26 for 2 hot chocolates and a pizza with extra toppings

Slightly overpriced but popular restaurant. It's a small busy place so can be hard to find a table. Staff are amazing. The food is rather average though, burger is tasteless and expensive for $22 which was worth more like $12. Pizzas are oily and made in a new York style with a lot of cheese, a soft flaccid undercooked vase and not much else. Fine if you like that type of pizza but is not my bag. Scopa is great for a beer or drink but not my choice for food.

It's also usually easy to find a place to sit, it's suitable for larger groups and quiet enough for a conversations without yelling.
